All the other facilities at the grounds were well maintained and the staff were very friendly. The bed was a little softer than my usual bed however still clean and comfy. I always enjoy visiting Waihi Beach, its one of my many happy places to visit. overall everything was fine. I am happy with my stay over there. There is nothing that I did not like.

The cabin was very clean, the beds were comfortable, the bed linen was good quality, the heating was effective, there was a good choice of bed pillows. The shower was small but the water pressure was excellent. Absolutely nothing. We would certainly recommend Waihi Beach Tasman Holiday Park Beachaven to future guests.

- Anna (8/5): Great for 4 day break. Beach and nice walks. - Easy walk to beach. 15 mins walk to cool shops/restaurants in town. 5 mins walk to beachside coffee shop/cafe. There are 2 Tasman sites close by so check which one you have booked. We thought we had booked the other one, my mistake. Beachaven seemed quieter but further down from surf end, if that's what you are here for. The locals also surf where we were though (and less crowded break).

- Brenz (9/5): Beautiful holiday park, pet friendly - We stayed in a 2bdrm pet friendly unit which was very comfortable so we had most facilities in the unit apart from a washing machine. The park was very clean and set up well. There was a mix of units, grass areas for Caravans, fenced off sites for dog friendly vans and then permanent park units. The only negatives were we didn't have a fenced off area for our pet friendly unit, even if they fenced off the back part of the unit would have been great. And as above would have been useful if the unit had a washing machine.

- Kristin (3/5): No warning of the flooding by staff contributed to the write off of our lovely car. - Greeted by a lovely staff member & everything seemed fine. Heavy rain & an orange warning but trusted that they knew where would flood & didn’t expect them to direct us to park in an area that had flooded repeatedly before! We were caught in the flooding 27th March 2026 & our car was written off while trying to save it from the waters IN the park! Staff gave no warning until the park and roadway outside unit 12 was over 30cm deep. We arrived & were greeted by a lovely staff member who gave us a map detailing where our unit & our parking space was. 8am I woke, noticed water, texted a friend in alarm. 8:06, neighbour knocked to say moving car with flood rising 8:09, husband in car trying to save it. Left car in 50cm water. 8:28 staff came to ask us to evacuate (yes this is the first we saw of them). I am surprised that we received NO warning whatsoever when we checked in (during predicted heavy rain), or later in the evening or even in the morning, until it was too late at 8:28am. A VERY expensive holiday, although they didn’t charge for the second night while we were marooned & the park was closed due to the emergency. Also… cockroaches (6 or 7) crawled out of the toaster & one crawled on the settee. Normal in heavy rain but no toast thanks.

Kitchen and bathroom need a good clean. We were also put in a unit set up for disabilities and the bathroom sink was so small you couldn’t use it.

You never know what type of beds you might get, this place invested in great bedding! Spotless cabin, super-friendly service with a smile that is always welcoming. Grounds were well appointed which made for a comfortable relaxed stay! Everything worked as it should have, excellent all round.

Pet friendly unit, we bought our small dog with us. Bring something to block the sliding door to keep your pet in. We didn’t her a chance to enjoy our stay due to severe weather but looking forward to coming back next summer. Tv was abit average, kept glitching & no signal during rain. We were unfortunate to get a storm while there & had to evacuate. But they refunded us.

- Michelle (5/5): - The location is good, close to the beach and near a nice park for children. The campground itself is pleasant and well suited for children and families. I did not find the cabin to be very clean. For example, the dish rack was quite dirty, as was the kitchen bench. In addition, our cabin was located near an exit area with a curve, and several times campervans got stuck right in front of our cabin, blocking us from leaving by car. I believe the campground should address this urgently, as it is clear that the exit space does not accommodate different sizes of cars and campervans.
- Daniela (5/5): Cabin auf Campingplatz mit minimaler Einrichtung. - Nähe zum Strand, ca 5 Gehminuten. Gebuchte Cabin hatte nichts an Einrichtung abgesehen von 3 Kajütenbetten und 1 Doppelbett. Keine Frottewäsche, keine Möglichkeit Tee zu kochen. Fenster oben defekt, unmöglich zu schliessen. Vorhang auf der Innenseite sehr schmutzig. Cabin direkt neben Kinder-TV-Raum gelegen, eher lärmig. Öffentliche Waschräume ok, aber Fläche der Lavabos sehr ungeschickt gebaut mit konstanter Überflutung. Seifenspender oft leer, bereit gelegte Schaber um nasse Ablage bei Lavabos zu putzen. Kein Laden auf dem oder in der Nähe des Campingplatzes.

Trevliga bastu och badtunnor som finns att hyra. Nära stranden. Ganska sparsamt med köksutrustning då vi var 6personer. Det hade varit bra med någon extra skål eller upplöggningsfat för mat tex. Våningssängarna var lite hårda och svajade så fort någon rörde sig.

We didn't realise there were ants in the kitchen and they got into our food ok the bench overnight which we had to throw out. Receptionist wasn't the greatest at check in so we didn't pass on.

The duvet covers were stained and marked, as were the towels, which raised concerns about cleanliness overall. Although a TV was advertised, there was no TV remote provided. We searched thoroughly throughout the cabin and were unable to find one. For a $300 per night stay, this level of cleanliness and lack of basic amenities was extremely disappointing and did not meet expectations.
