- Amy (4/5): Host was very friendly and helpful but the place is run down and tired looking especially around the grounds. I am sure - Cosy, lovely views and very peaceful. Comfy bed and helpful owner Lots of dead and live Ants on and around kitchen benches. No teaspoons. Tv remote control was not working properly. We bought a couple of new batteries to put in it but still not functioning all the time.
- John (10/5): This was close to my horse riding booking and a perfect place to rejuvenate. - The place is secluded with an amazing view over the lake and mountains which was so relaxing

- Michael (2/5): Nightmare on Willow Lake - Nothing really Property is very run down, dead and dying trees and shrubs everywhere, “lake is pretty well empty, rubbish and furniture just strewn everywhere, brick paved pathways are in a poor state, looks like nobody has been to or done anything at the property at all for a very long time, roof leaking on our bungalow when it rained, this place has its own bore water, no need for the state of the gardens etc , Willow Lake was once a beautiful property with working restaurant , beautiful gardens and water features , arbours and lovely areas to sit around in the gardens, but now it’s a dump unfortunately , we left after one night
- Jeff (9/5): Very comfortable and peaceful location - Beautiful view from the well appointed cabin Although the property needs attention for upkeep the location and views are very nice
- Judith (10/5): Peaceful quiet and beautiful - Wonderful facilities, everything you need. Helpful responsive hosts. It was sad that it was sooo dry. Obviously not the venues fault.
- Kirtikumar (10/5): Peaceful and re-invigorating - Close to the Lake edge, uninterrupted view and quiet, country ambience. All Fine
- Corina (3/5): Poor - The spa bath was nice and bed very comfortable The fact that people were able to set up right in front of the view with families and very noisy. Also the plants and stagnant water was not nice.
- Craig (8/5): Very good - View!!!
- Collette (10/5): Excellent quiet the hosts thought of everything you could need - Location was fantastic was close to everything Needs a step as you walk out of the front sliding door from the lounge area also could have a hand rail in the shower so it’s easy to get in and out
- Sofia (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caitlyn (8/5): Very good -
- Massey (8/5): Stunning views, special birds, very relaxing. - The view was stunning and we were greeted by some very friendly cockies, rosella's and parrots. I was happy to see that the hosts provided wild bird seed in the cottages so there was appropriate food to feed them 😀 Everything was available to get the wood fire started and even at the end of October it was still needed at night. There was great written communication on how the fire and hot water pressure worked as the property only has rainwater tanks and gravity feed. We had no issues with it because of the explanation. The bed was very comfortable. A relaxing couple of nights all in all. We did have trouble finding the place, GPS took us to Lake drive Howqua and the mobile tower was down so we couldn't double check the address. The choices of address on Navigation system were Howqua, Piries and Mac's Cove - I don't recall Booking site saying Mac's Cove but that's the one to choose ☹️🤔
- David (9/5): An amazing few days - The peace and the views were amazing
The birds were are best thing being able to feed the King Parrot the Rozzellas and the Cockatoos from the balcony made a our visit so special Nothing
- Latola (8/5): If you need a getaway from the kids and the busyness of life. Go here. - The scenery was idealic, quiet and well placed to be alone and just recharge. Fireplace was a god sent, even though there was a split system we preferred the fireplace. There were a few minor hiccups with equipment, but the staff and owners were very accommodating and apologetic, which was not necessary as things happen.
- Simone (9/5): Relaxing getaway - Excellent location for what we were looking for, peaceful and quiet.
- Julia (9/5): Superb - The views are great, I wish I could have stayed longer. The bed was comfortable. Really quiet and with lots of nature around. It was bit cold inside, I don't think the insulation is good enough for the winter time.
- Kate (10/5): Great getaway - Amazing spot, relaxing with fantastic views and close to everything we wanted to be near to Absolutely nothing.. great set up
- Maria (9/5): Superb - The accommodation is in a quiet place (so for us was perfect), the cottage we had had a perfect view, its facilities were perfect for what we needed. The living room chair was stained and made a bit of a noise when you sat on it (but nothing bad that can't be fixed)
- Alesci (10/5): perfect get away. - location and the view was second to none.
- Hazel (10/5): Exceptional - The view, location and the comfort of the place. Lack of oil and other kitchen seasonings etc.
- Helen (10/5): Great place we will go again for sure all - Location people fire N/A
- Chanel (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing view of the lake.
It had everything we ever needed.
Netflix and internet. A huge bed. Cooktop. Cutlery. Pots and pans. Wood to keep fire burning. Even cleaning materials were available. Thank you for making our stay memorable.
- Dee (10/5): Exceptional - The location was fabulous - 20 mins from Mansfield and even less for Jameison. The view from our cabin was the star of the show - it right on the lake with mountains and greenery all around. The location was quiet and the hosts were so friendly and helpful. It was great value for money, would love to come back here.
- Tim (9/5): Relaxing stay in lovely rural surroundings. - Lovely little cottage on the edge of the lake. Fully equipped for a warm and comfortable three nights. Nothing not to like
- Hans (10/5): Great short getaway, great lakefront view, quiet and peaceful - Lake front views, quiet and peaceful. Amenities in the room, fireplace No milk provided, sofa cover was dirty
- Keren (8/5): Very good -
- Sujai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (9/5): Superb -
- Remalin (9/5): Superb - The View was spectacular. Clean. Your own fireplace in the lounge room. The kitchen is well equipped. Toilet's bi-fold door. Access to the cabin is via a ramp from the car park. The steel chair in the verandah is uncomfortable.
- Shaun (9/5): Excellent location for a relaxing by a lake! - Beautiful and peaceful location on the lake. Was an amazing spot to relax and we were even able to go for a swim when the sun was out. Very close to Mansfield too which made it easy to get food. Cabin was nice and cosy and didn't feel too small. I think the property is currently undergoing renovations so there was a bit of rubbish and so on around the property and some of the furniture was a little tired. Nothing major but a little cleanup wouldn't go astray.
- Caroline (10/5): Wonderful weekend in a very special location - Idyllic location, cute cabins offering everything you could possibly want. Very comfy bed and good shower. BBQ on the deck, microwave and 2 x hot plates with pits and pans etc. Everything has been thought of. Beautiful bird life and incredible views of the lake and hills beyond. Starting to look a teenie bit tired and a few cobwebs around which didn’t bother us personally which is why we have still rated the property as 10.
- Ashley (8/5): Very good -
- Russell (8/5): Awsome location, loved feeding the local birds. - Location was great with lake views from the cottage.
Bird feeding was awsome with some very friendly local parrots. Was not informed that the power was going to be cut for most of one of the days, not really an issue just a bit of an inconvieniance.
- Tran (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful and cosy little cottages set on a scenic surround with lake view just outside your cottage entrance. A scenery for those that love seclude and privacy after a long stressful day of work or just to get away from the hustle bustle of the city life. Winter Cabin really nice. We had a very friendly Rosella parrot keep coming knocking at the front door asking for food. Such lovely wildlife. Friendly Owner. 🤗❤❤ Taps fitting is very old and hard to open/close. Water shut off when power shortage.
- Johan (10/5): What a gem. - Gorgeous accommodation in a beautiful and piecefull environment within 20-25mins of Hobart center.
- Viktor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caitlin (7/5): Good -
- Narelle (10/5): Had an amazing time, beautiful little cottage which had everything we needed. Lovely views of the lake, woken up to the - Was very cosy with awesome scenery.
- Paula (10/5): The best place to stay if you’re going to Mt Buller or looking for a peaceful holiday out w friends. - I love the view and the location, for me I like quiet places so I enjoyed my stay and feeding the birds was fun. Inside the cottage were so clean and warm even the bathroom were perfect. I can’t wait for my next stay with Willowlake and Cottages. I didn’t like coming back to the cottage at night with only two of us, I should’ve bring more friends so they can experience the best of Willowlake and have some more fun at the lake with the beautiful view.
- Shivangi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Henry (10/5): Picturesque and cozy - Beautiful location overlooking the lake, and very warm and cozy cabins! Alison is a super helpful host. We stayed as an overnight base for our ski trip and it was perfect - but you'll need a car as it's a bit out of Mansfield. Would definitely stay again.
- Raymond (6/5): Pleasant -

Whenever we go places the comfort and linen of the bed is always a concern but not in this little cottage.

We will definitely visit again !!
- Brett (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Katerina (8/5): A lovely peaceful retreat off the beaten track with a gorgeous biew and very comfy bed! - Comfy and cosy cottage A few cobwebs in the cupboards and cabin
- Glenn (10/5): Beautiful & Cosy Cottage - We stayed here for two nights, and it was very beautiful & cosy. Checking in was simple with the instructions given by the lovely host Alison via SMS. The amazing native parrots met us at the front door, squeaking at us as we arrived, Crimson Rosellas, King Parrots, & Sulphur-crested cockatoo's. It was winter, and the temperatures got down to less than 3 degrees. They have a small fireplace with supplied wood, paper & lighters. I stocked it up thinking this may not produce much heat. Boy, was I wrong. It produced a tremendous amount of heat, which kept the cottage very warm. I thoughly recommend this place to other travellers as it has everything you could ask, including Netflix & super fast WiFI. Thanks to the hosts for a memorable stay.
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Was amazing cosy cottage beautiful views the bird seed to feed the birds was a great addition. The owner was very accommodating.
- Helen (9/5): Idyllic, romantic, cosy and good value. - The cottage was right on the lakeside - and the view from the veranda was spectacular. It was cosy, we lit the wood fire every evening, and it had a sweet little kitchenette, Netflix and a spa bath. The agent/owners were very helpful in every way. As it's on the east side of Lake Eildon it is a bit tricky to get to if coming from the west (or southwest in our case) but WELL worth the little extra journey.
- Kylie (9/5): We would love to come back again - There were facilities to make your own food which we used and were very happy with. The accommodation was also not far from a local town Mansfield so we were able to buy very nice pizza for dinner. We loved the woodfire, we were supplied with kindling and wood each day. Also had a great time feeding the local birdlife with the seed provided. A beautiful experience. Just an idea for improvement is more privacy when on the veranda. If there were trees or fencing to separate the cottages.
- Joanne (10/5): BLISS!! - I can not rate this place highly enough!! The cottages are so cosy and have everything you need and the views are breathtaking! We stayed 7 nights and spent our time relaxing at the cottage or fishing from the beautiful lake that is right at your front door. The local area is rich in history so we had a great time driving around sightseeing. There are lots of pubs, wineries and cafes scattered in the area and the main supermarket is only a 10 minute drive. We also visited the local zoo and took a scenic flight in a helicopter which I highly recommend both! This place really is amazing and our hosts Dean & Alison were so helpful and friendly. We'll definitely be back!!
- Sirinut (10/5): Quiet and comfortable short stay with lots of native birds. - The cottage has everything we need. It was serene and quiet. We especially love watching the native birds swinging by in the morning. Hard to find food.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -

- Erica (10/5): blissful - fireplace, views, cooking facilities, bird life
- Dilly (9/5): Unforgettable experience, great stay. We would come back again! - Lovely cottage with a beautiful view of the lake and the garden. We enjoyed the small walks in the garden, feeding the birds, had enough logs provided for the wood fire and the cottage was clean One more milk would have been better
- Matthew (10/5): Fantastic little cottage with great views of Lake Eildon - Wonderful views of Lake Eildon. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. Will definitely be returning. Nothing, it was fantastic
- James (10/5): Awesome retreat - Our cottage was right on the water, the view from our bed and the room was awesome.
10/10 on the room
On our balcony in the mornings, my partner fed the local birds with seeds straight from her hand.
- Cheyenne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grant (8/5): Relaxing laidback and romantic - The feel of the location and the cabin was relaxed and romantic, great for our 10yr wedding anniversary Some spider webs here and there inside the building , and some stains on the carpet, other than that all good
