Close to train station for us "on-footers" (10 mins) - Room very comfortable and well heated - Clean and tidy, all advertised facilities present - well-equipped self-service breakfast room, full of option - easy check out (key drop) - very quiet area, well lit and safe. Nothing I disliked, maybe a bit expensive, considering the "Motel" layout. Would recommend adding cheese slices to the bfast fridge (minor detail)

Definitely fit for purpose. - The property was well located near Macedon, with easy access from the freeway and local roads. Presentation was neat both inside and out for an older property, with check in and out being a simple text with room number, door’s open and key is on the bench with the managers name and contact in case there was something we needed… The carpet could have been replaced when the room was done up and repainted. Was just a little grotty for me.

Simone (9/5): Excellent little motel. Would definitely stay again - Surprisingly lovely motel. Check in was remote - received a text with instructions regarding entering our room. Easy, seamless experience. Room was comfortable and the bathroom was great. Huge shower. Large, well lit mirror. Even provided air freshener, bug spray and a brand new box of tissues. We were attending a party on Woodend - approximately 9km away. Found it impossible to get any transport (taxi or Uber) back late at night. That’s not the motel’s fault - however it’s located in a tricky spot (if you’re not driving.)

Quiet and peaceful location. The bathroom was very good. Bed was warm, but unfortunately it sunk in the middle which didn’t make it too comfortable. It would have been good to have more seating in the room, so instead of a single bed (not required for a couple), it would have been a better use of the space to provide more seating.

Cindy (10/5): A beautiful, quite comfortable place ideal for a short stay. - Comfortable beds, clean newly renovated bathroom, great shared kitchen with cooking facilities and breakfast including cereal, bacon, eggs, toast, and tea/coffee. Spacious private parking. Great heating / air-conditioning. The price was good for the location. Look forward to returning in the future. My only recommendation is that there needs to be a draught/ door stopper on the back of the door, as the cold was coming in. The room was not overly big , but it suited our needs and had everything needed to make our stay comfortable. Possibly needs an extra chair under the bench. The basketball ring was great but is situated in the car park, so it's probably not the safest if there are lots of cars around.

For a motel in a remote area ( a long way from food access, as well as no room service), I would have thought the minimum of a couple of plates and knife and fork would be the least on offer. A microwave would have been welcome too.

Comfortable bed and nice bathroom with a walk in shower and its own heater, we slept very well. We cooked ourselves toast, bacon and eggs in the communal kitchen with nice cups of tea from the supplied goods in the fridge. A great stay and we will definitely return.

The bed top cover was extremely heavy and I would have liked to have an extra pillow. 1 pillow wasn't enough for my personal preference and there was only 1 spare pillow in the cupboard. I would have also preferred a bedside lamp as the light over the bedhead was extremely bright.
Maslen (4/5): Retiring from the black forest motel. - Don't judge a book by its cover ladies thought we found a place willing to give and opptunity to a dis advantaged member of the community that is unable to shower due to the corrupt society we live in today but it was given and taken away in a 5 minutes to due to morally bank rupt cleaning staff that all have it good i hate to say this but you people who did that are unAustralian the owner id okay had good stays but not gonna keep my mouth zipped about the cleaning staff disalowing one of us peasents an opptinity regretful to say i may not return . Ac remote battery down. Only One window in the room more better with privacy net curtains for the natural light to come in instead of the black out roller screen.
