Breakfast is basic cereal and toast and is included in the price All the windows in the house were kept closed. It would have been good to have some fresher air. We did open the windows in our room. There is on-site parking but not much room to turn, so it's a longish reverse to get out.

The Ghost who walks was there to guard us 😎 People cooking curry in the kitchen next to our room causing an odour throughout the house. The airconditioning was a little noisy.

His knowledge and love of the house shone through in every word. What a wonderful story the house has that I wont tell as its not mine to tell . This will not disappoint. And my "room" was like a whole wing of the house. It was a suite ! Amazing I loved everything .

- andrew (3/5): Disappointing - instructions for after hours entry should be clear and valid. - Room was clean and tidy. The instructions for after-hours access were invalid. I slept in my car and only managed to get to my room next morning after I asked one of the guests how they got in. I used the shower then left.

- Rose (10/5): Fabulous and chatting to Charlie the owner was great. - Unfortunately for me, a light sleeper, I was in a front room which was on the main road. Charlie, the owner, is doing what he can to quieten the noise which wasn't too bad after dark. In the daylight hours, I put utube on a meditation video which helped cover the traffic noise. I'll make sure to get a back room next time 🌸

The manager/owner, Mark, is very helpful and considerate and made our visit very pleasant. Brekkie comprises of a variety of cereals, fruit, toast and jam where you help yourself but Mark cleans up after you which was a big plus. It’s served in a pleasant little dining area overlooking the garden. All in all a delightful stay and we’ll certainly be back when we’re in Lismore next. N/A

- Suzanne (9/5): Would stay here again. - Huuuuuuuge room, it was like a palace. After the tiny motel room we had the previous night, it was like we were sleeping in an aircraft hangar, only cosier and with better decor. We were last here a few years ago, and Melville House has transitioned to the next generation of management really well. I was a bit terrified of Helen last time, but it was heaps more relaxing this time. A surprising amount of traffic on the road that runs past the house, but that's not the fault of the management. They've done their best to minimise the noise in the room with blinds, curtains, etc.

Nothing, only thing for the suggestion box is that I need a little more clarity in what I can eat in the kitchen, cereals, milk was obvious but bread for toast? Can I use one of the loves in the fridge?

- Andy (10/5): BEST PLACE TO STAY IN LISMORE>>>>> - This isn't like a traditional bed and breakfast, but is sooooo much better. You share the huge house with the manager and owner, so they are never far away if you need help, but also not in your way. Michael, the manager is fun and helpful,nothing is too much trouble. Charles, the owner has some great travel stories. There is a full kitchen in case you want to cook Bacon and Eggs, or a full continental. BONUS FILTER COFFEEE, my favourite. I've stayed here three times and will be staying many more. The cleanliness is almost obsessive, the beds and linen fabulous. It is really well located and is very quiet even though it is on a main road. Value for money is fantastic!!! NOTHING, nothing, nothing, it's perfect!
