Guest Reviews
- Elhashmi EH (8/5): - Good over all
- Ja Naw (8/5): - Clean
- Kylie (6/5): - Quite owner great to deal with.
Cabin was a bit dusty and had cobwebs and spiders and tv didnt work. Ok for 1 night.
- Angela (6/5): - It's in a great location but unfortunately it's quite unkempt. Cabins are nice but cooker wasn't working properly and very old. Cobwebs everywhere on the verandah as in hadn't been cleaned for a very long time. Adventure playground neglected. Very disappointing because we had our grandchildren 2 and 5 with us so they were disappointed. Great setting though.
- Helen (8/5): - Great place to stay at i had a cabin and found it very comfortable and everything I needed.
Just needed blockout curtains in the bedrooms.
- Jiten (8/5): - Like - nice little cabin with beautiful surroundings and parking for car, very secure place
Didn't like - kids saw a cockroach and they freaked out, proper quilt was not there for kids room
- Carol (8/5): - Was convenient for us as we had a nearby wedding
- Kelly (8/5): - Nice
- DAVID (10/5): - Lovely owners and very helpful. Especially with advice for skiing mount buller
- Jessica (6/5): - Potential to be a vibing place if it was loved. however it’s tired, outer of cabin is dirty, cobwebs, felt like giving the place a scrub.
The floors of the cabin were dirty but most of the cabin was basically clean.
Lady was gruff and bossy at counter. We couldn’t wait to leave really but was desperate for a room during peak season. As a last resort it was ok.
- Pradyumna (10/5): - Everything was good, the facilities, rooms, bathrooms, check-in/check-out experience etc. was great. Had no issues with the accommodation and price.
- Gaurav (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Excellent location.
- David (4/5): - Property unkept, kiosk wasn’t open despite the signs saying it was. Pool was closed because not enough people to use it.
- Nicole (10/5): - Spacious, clean cabin, in walking distance to the water! Perfect summer vacation spot!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location for us to head up to Mt Buller. Friendly and accomodating staff helped make our late check in very easy! Neat cabin, comfy beds and our hosts even turned the heater on for us so it would be warm when we arrived
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great, David is very hospitable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - To be honest we didnt even realise that Bonnie Doon was a real place but being massive The Castle fans it was just amazing. The park was very quiet which no doubt is Covid related so please show your support and go visit them!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing cabin - Everything was clean & presentable. Only issue was no shower pressure otherwise all good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great spot, check in was easy and quick, the on site unit was clean and neat

- Verified traveler (10/5): - we always have a great stay, great accom for a great price. love this place. highly recommend !
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very quiet and peaceful...must be lovely when the dam is ful and countryside is green.
- Christian (8/5): - Perfect for what we needed, which was just a place to stay on the way up to Buller. The booking suggested that the room would have two queen beds but we instead got a queen and two singles. Fortunately it wasn't an issue for us, but might be something to watch out for.
- Tiff (10/5): - Very comfortable bed in the main bedroom. The blanket in the second room is thin so my friend was cold during the night
- Duane (8/5): Basic accommodation, new, clean, neat and tidy. - Perfect stop for us while heading to Mt Buller. We arrived late. Lights and heating were on. The cabin was new and it was neat and tidy. Basic living as expected in a cabin. Will do it again next year.
- Verified traveler (10/5): No fuss stay, neat cabin. - A last minute decision to do a weekend at Buller had us struggling to find accommodation on a Saturday night. The delux cabin was luckily available and was a great choice. Check in was friendly and easy, cabin was toasty when we arrived to peel off the snow gear. Full linen and pillows were provided and tea/coffee etc. Beds were comfy and shower was hot, not much more to ask for. Drove straight out in the morning back up to Buller, just over an hour. Would recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Spacious rooms with good facilities - Staff are extremly helpful. Room are spacious, clean. We all had a very pleasant stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, comfortable and easy. Had the heater on for us already as it was freezing and good kitchen utilities
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Neat tidy and warm after a day at the snow. Staff very friendly and welcoming
- Julie (6/5): Comfortable cabin - Nice cabin with good facilities. Clean. However expensive. All my motels this trip have been more than a quarter cheaper. Wi-fi worked, but only 100MB given. I have travelled a lot this year; several months and this has been the smallest allocation anywhere. Some places give 3GBs, or even unlimited.
Comfortable bed and good shower.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Uncomfortable and no bedding - This "deluxe" cabin said no linen but didn't expect that meant no doonas or blankets as well as no sheets and towels. The couch had a board under the cushions so was very uncomfortable. Very overpriced for what it is.
- Tony (10/5): Great cabins - Great cabins. Kids loved it.
Good facilities. Nice place to take the family!
- Simon (6/5): It is what it is..... - Our cabin in this well located caravan park was what we had expected - a clean, comfortable and convenient place to stay for a night. We were on our way to Mt Buller and decided that Bonnie Doon was a good place to spend the night before making the final drive to the mountain. It was a cost effective accommodation choice, with the local pub serving good sized meals to keep us and our 7 year old happy.
- Tim (2/5): Accommodation of last resort - The website represented this cabin as providing bedding for 4 people. However this is a misrepresentation. The double bed is of reasonable quality. However, the other two beds are actually poor quality vinyl couches about a metre wide. They are not actually beds and the fact that the caravan park represents them as such is a disgrace. What made the experience even more appalling, I asked for linen to be supplied and paid the extra $20 when booking through Wotif. The hotel owner was very curt on the phone when I inquired and told me there would only be linen supplied for the double bed as she had run out of linen! The room was clean, though the rubbish bin was left on the window sill for some strange reason. The shower was in a tiny cupboard. The only redeeming feature was the air conditioner was very efficient. Overall, I would only stay here if it was the only option available.
- joe (2/5): Cabin - To start our night off the women was very rude when we arrived .then procceded to tell us we had to be out before 10.00am as she had ppl coming in next day even though there websight said 11.00 am there was no would you mind leaving a bit early as I have ppl coming in that would of been better then you have to get out before 10.00 am . We had lights over bed not working bin was sitting on bench when we arrived and toilet brush sitting on top of toilet also when we arrived .there were several things broken in the cabin .had to fix shower before we could use it .the door to shower did not have handle on inside of door .so all in all not a present experience will not be recommending.
- pathik (8/5): Nice place to stay for less cost - It is a nice tidy place, near to river. Can spend time with family to relex.
- Rajender (10/5): Nice and Tidy - Nice and Tidy. Family friendly. Play Area. Only one hour from Mount Buller.
- Verified traveler (6/5): nice park friendly staff pool ws great - very safe very quiet family orientated great area lots of parking shop on site
- Kathryn (6/5): Nice cabin - Enjoyed our stay as a stop over to the snow. The couple running the shop are lovely just the office lady was very unaccommodating.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - What was needed for this trip.
Staff where friendly weather
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place - We really enjoyed it and would consider to come back next time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice cosy cabin
Perfect for staying if travelling to Mt Buller
- Eva (4/5): No serenity here - We stayed in a cabin and were quite disappointed at the quality of the cabin upon arrival considering we had paid a rate that would have gotten us a much better quality cabin elsewhere (I'll admit that it was over a long weekend and there aren't a lot of accommodation options in town). Everything was tired and dated, holes in walls, uncomfortable vinyl bench, nothing had changed here since the 1980s. Thankfully they had upgraded the air conditioner so the heating was sorted. But this was the only place that I refused to take a shower in our two week trip. The cubicle was so small I dared not try to negotiate myself in there and chose no shower at all. The hot water tap leaked constantly and one kid was scalded when they tried to turn it off. There was a jumping pillow for the kids but I was a bit put off leaving them on their own as there was a rowdy group of men drinking beer right at the gate. When I asked about the availability of the pool I had a curt response saying that it was too cold to leave open, as if I should have known that before I got there. I'm sure the park would be rocking in the summertime when the lake is full and lots of families converge making for a less abandoned feel. I came to experience the serenity but ended up doing that in the surrounding area, not in the park.
- simmo (10/5): Great pool - Nice and quite feed the cockatoos at your door step
- Wanderer (8/5): Friendly, convenient, clean, relatively priced. - Truly relaxing & friendly locals at The Bonnie Bar.
