- Robards (8/5): A really comfortable stay in a beautiful part of Australia. - Wonderful trees and native wildlife made a terrific scene. The bed was super comfy and it was great to be able to cook up a yummy breakfast in the well appointed kitchen. The communication was a little clunky and the check in time closes at 5pm. We needed to provide a text message of ID before the lock code was sent to us on the day of arrival, so it felt a little uncertain as we were driving through areas of low coverage on the way, uncertain if we were going to be able to get in when we arrived. The signage to each of the cottages was hard to follow too as we arrived after dark.

Our cottage had a kitchen if we wanted to cook all of our own meals with a bbq outside as well which was very convenient. Buffet breakfast options were a bit limited for the price.

Otherwise, I really appreciated the advice from reception re things to do, heads up re booking national park passes online. The cabin was perfectly quiet, equipped, comfortable. Bit shabby, but fit for purpose. I’d ditch the “lease” type form on the table. People just want to come and relax and not worry about maintenance 😉

- Alix (5/5): Sadly, our stay was disappointing and we wouldn’t recomend Bay and Bush as it stands. - We were greeted warmly by Maria and given some useful tips/suggestions about the local area. The location was beautiful, and we were surrounded by stunning nature. We were disappointed with the ‘honeymoon cottage’ which we felt was missing some simple, thoughtful touches which would have elevated the experience. As the name implies there will likely be a couple staying, but unfortunately there was only one comfortable chair in the cottage, despite there being plenty of room for another (or better still, a small couch to relax on). Having a cosy place to sit together indoors (in the winter) is quite a basic amenity when booking a ‘honeymoon cottage’. It was disappointing to find an empty glass bottle of water in the fridge and the kitchen in general was underwhelming. It was super basic and limiting and would benefit from a plug in stove top for those who would like to cook more for themselves whilst enjoying the local area. Overall, the cottage felt dated and cold, for example, a rug in the kitchen on the cold tiled floor would’ve been a great touch. The windows were also not clean, which feels picky, however combined with the other points we felt it was worth feeding this back. As the accommodation is described as 4 star, we had high hopes, which unfortunately were not met. Other elements that added to the disappointment were the fact that when asked, a second chair was not provided. The ‘fitness classes’ that were eluded to online, are not up and running yet. The fire pit was not to be used when we were there. If guests don’t have access to any of these features, then we feel the price is exceptionally high. We were unhappy with the experience and actually cut our stay short by one night, due to not feeling comfortable or relaxed in the cottage. The concept of Bay and Bush is a great one, however we did not find that it’s being executed (yet). Our message is sincere and intended to provide constructive feedback.

The site is extremely peaceful, quiet with great facilities including a fire pit that we enjoyed toasted Marshmallows over. Also only an 8 minute drive into Huskisson. Highly recommend.

- Nick (6/5): - The property was in great condition. Fittings were very good and at a level you'd expect at this price. Location was a peaceful bushy setting. I didn't like that my expectation for this type of property at this price would be a little extra nicety such as a checkout later than 10:00am and usually a little something left in the room to give the guest a special welcome - just a small thing like a couple of local chocolates or some wine or nicer toiletries or something. There was none of that, The immediate greeting inside the unit is a prominently displayed checklist of how you, the guest, need to clean-up after yourself upon exit, and not so much as a few spices or cooking oil or continental breakfast supply in the reasonably appointed kitchen.
