Julian (9/5): Cool, clean and comfortable! - Looking across the foreshore to the tropical islands of Gould and Hinchinbrook makes for a very relaxing stay. Under the shade of the tropical Beech Almonds which line the shore, stools are available to sit and soak it all in. The guest pool is great for all ages and the playground enjoyed by the infants. I was not expecting such a lovely stay. Very well priced and a pleasure to be there.

Andrew (9/5): A relaxing, comfortable place to stay after a long day on the road. - Have stayed here before, and always enjoy the beachfront location, with its walkway and proximity to shops and eateries. Can't really find fault, apart from the building showing the usual signs of age. Always clean and comfy, though.

Jane (1/5): Budget but really ...... - Lady in Heritage centre in town was helpful, guided us to a simple but good food eateries. Terry's & Mamikos, lovely fish and chips. I know we booked budget but.... Air con wasn't working, changed handset batteries myself-sorted. Strip lighting in bedroom and bathroom, no bedside lights - really! Room dirty especially behind bed, bed not fixed so kept moving away from wall, so no excuse why it wasn't cleaned behind. TV height - on top of full height wardrobe, who watches television like that? Only 1 teaspoon, so we ate yogurt in relays. Turned room fan on and bed got covered in thick dust, maybe needs a clean 🤔 Nothing open on site, because it was Monday, because it was end of season, so why accept booking? And lady offered no information of what/where was open.

Elisabeth (8/5): Comfortable, relaxing, uncomplicated - This is a perfect location with view looking directly out to Hinchinbrook and Goold Islands in Rockingham Bay, with just a stretch of lawn and a quiet road between our room and the foreshore with footpath/cycle path great for early morning or evening strolls. Rooms had everything we needed (including iron and ironing board). Restaurant gave us and four friends an excellent meal on our frst night, at a very reasonable cost. Nothing really except we had a problem with the aircon dripping inside the room- because we had been conscientious about turning it off when we we went out. In such very hot weather a notice to say "do not turn air-con off" would have been helpful.

Beware of the restaurant ( which is not owned by the this property ) the young female waitress was exceptionally rude and aggressive toward a single older lady, who complained about not being served. She told her ( in raised voice ) to leave and that she is never to return. She then proudly told us that she could call the police to deal with annoying guests. So make sure you do not annoy the waitress or you will be escorted out by the local cops ( heh heh)

Susan (7/5): Good for an overnight stay but clarification on microwave use needs to be made - Quiet location. Great shower, good size. Comfortable bed. Had a microwave, toaster and jug. Room was a reasonable size. Easy checkin. Grounds were nice. We didn’t use the restaurant but it looked very pleasant and convenient. There was a notice in our room that said no cooking in the room even though there was a microwave. The notice said to use the public cooking facilities. We found this very confusing as there was a microwave available in the room. Unfortunately the office was closed so we couldn’t get clear instructions. In the end we bought something to eat from outside. This is not because we didn’t fancy the restaurant but more to do with dietary requirements. Would suggest more clarification. Also there wasn’t a small table and chairs but there was a large sofa which seemed surplus. We would have preferred a table. Yes there was an outside table and chairs but at that time in the evening the sun was shining right on that particular spot.

DFNZ (8/5): - A beautiful location for a restful overnight or stay. Right next to the beach but off the main road. Great views out to sea and to Hinchinbrook Island (sorry no swimming because of crocs). Comfortable unit, worth paying the small extra for the ocean view.

Dominic (7/5): Overall it was pleasant but there were a few issues (with pets) - Loved the location and the overall friendliness of the staff. The staff there really are wonderful both in the reception and the restaurant. There was a miscommunication between booking.com and the property regarding the suitability of pets in their Oceanside rooms which we’d specifically booked (and believed to be pet friendly). We were relocated from that room the following day to a different room that, although adequate, wasn’t what we’d booked. The staff were understanding and waived the pet fee (which I’m grateful for since it was a blatant rort) but it was still an unpleasant experience. Finally, although we didn’t charge our car because we didn’t book a powered site, I noticed a sign in bold red letters stating that ev charging is prohibited and directing customers to the charger in town. That’s really poor form, the charger in town is woefully inadequate and doesn’t work half the time. If customer’s have paid for a powered site, why can’t they use it? This is the first holiday park we’ve encountered in 5 months of travel that had that restriction and, to date, we’ve been free to trickle charge in every powered site we’ve been to. Finally, despite the sign out the front saying open 7 days, the restaurant is actually closed on Mondays. Fair enough, just update the sign. Again, I’m not faulting the staff, they are genuinely wonderful and I hope the owner revisits some of their policies going forward

Mark (10/5): The motel we stayed in on our trip - What a great motel this is. The rooms that we had were great. Beds were excellent and the bathroom nice and modern. It was the best motel we stayed in on our trip and we stayed in four others. The restaurant does good food. Just as well as so many places in Cardwell were closed. The ocean villas that they have available look fantastic. Just one thing that does need sorting out and that is the internet it regularly dropped out. Not great for teenagers and parents trying to appease them. Get that sorted out and you e got a diamond.

Kevin (9/5): Lovely place to stay. - The bed was super comfy. The unit was lovely with nice veranda for dining. Good sized bathroom and extra pillows etc. We only had one of the small units but it was delightful. Great lighting but the bedside lamp didn't work. The shower nozzle needs adjusting somehow so that it doesn't hit the gap in the door and saturate the floor. Sealant needs bleaching. Wifi was a bit unreliable and the public kichen area quite sparse and dark with a strong fishy smell.

Julie (9/5): Superb - Location was good. A bit out of the way from the main part of Cardwell. A bit of a distance if you wanted to walk to find food. We ate at the on site Restaurant which was our main reason for staying. Food was good. Nice for just a night away. Nice view. Room was lovely. Bed was good. An actual King size bed. Not a joined one with that gap or hump in the middle. Shower screen leaked between the gaps in the glass screen so water on the floor of the bathroom. Strange setup with the coffee / tea being in a cabinet and had to pull out a tray to use them.
