- Ong (9/5): - One of us fell ill and the property manager onsite was really kind and helpful. She offered us medication, water, and food and extra towels and plastic bags in case we needed them. She even checked in with us the following morning and allowed us to stay longer if we needed more time to rest.
The property also looked just like the pictures and it was a very nice space for my toddler to run about. Property managers also brought over scooters for my toddler to ride. We had a power outage on the first night as they were doing some maintenance works and we were not informed about it. One of us was midway through a shower when it happened (electricity and water were cut) and we also had a toddler who just fell asleep. We panicked and were very worried as we couldn’t get to speak to anyone as it was already 10 or 11 at night. It wasn’t until we stepped out of the unit that we found out what had happened, and we were told that we weren’t informed as we didn’t have a local number. As the booking was made through booking.com and Hunter Valley Stays had my personal email, they could have used other means to informed us.

We loved that the cottage catered so well for two adult couples, with both bedrooms easily accommodating queen beds, two bedside tables and a large wardrobe and both having ensuite bathrooms. Also appreciated the walk-in showers. Although there is a good sized kitchen there are not many pots. I used the one and only largish saucepan to reheat a curry for four adults so had to use microwave rice as there was no other large pot to boil rice in.

There was even milk in the fridge! The location is serene, and there were kangaroos on the property when we were there. It is a quiet location and we were fully self-contained. I can't fault it.

Gift of wine and snacks etc was very thoughtful. Coffee machine was great and milk was provided. We cooked a couple of meals and all went smoothly. Great location and easy drive to wineries etc over the weekend. Can’t think of anything in particular!

- Anonymous (10/5): if only the Sting concert didn’t get cancelled due to the storm. what an expensive weekend for 20 minutes of Sting. such - location , easy of use, comfortable country style, good air con. easy to access. just two tinsy tiny minor items which the owners might like to rectify:
1) air con remote in bedroom (the one without the spa bath) was not functioning. it was able to switch OFF the air con but not turn it on or change mode, temp or fan speed. we got around it by just using the lounge remote for that bedroom.
2) also the one bedside lap in the same bedroom didn’t work. I could see how to click on the one closet to the bathroom, and that worked but I couldn’t click on the other lamp. maybe I was meant to pull the bed out and turn it on at a wall socket? I just didn’t want to damage the bed head.
other than those two tiny minor items- Lilly Pilly cottage was super duper wonderful!

We have stayed at the Grange previously before it was taken over by Hunter Valley Stays.
I would have to say that the previous owners made the stay much more pleasant.

- John (8/5): Great Location but no personal contact. - Excellent location on Hermitage near to vineyards and fine restaurants. Set in peaceful, open surroundings it is beautifully quiet. The suite was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with good facilities including a microwave and fridge. It was very sanitized. When we stayed here eight years ago we were greeted by a charming owner with his dog and supplied with fresh breakfast supplies. This time we saw no one and were swamped by emails and instructions with no personal contact. Slightly disappointing.
