Schon bei meiner Ankunft wurde ich herzlich empfangen und habe mich sofort wohlgefühlt. Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich aufmerksam, herzlich und haben ein echtes Gespür dafür, ihren Gästen eine besondere Zeit zu bereiten. Ein echtes Highlight war der Morgen meiner Abreise: Damit ich ganz entspannt frühstücken konnte, haben mich die Gastgeber persönlich zum Bahnhof gefahren – ein Service, der alles andere als selbstverständlich ist. Das Frühstück selbst war liebevoll zubereitet, vielfältig und einfach richtig lecker. Doch damit nicht genug: Auf dem Weg habt sie mir sogar noch ein wenig von der Stadt und dem Strand gezeigt. Alles super.

They were nothing but accommodating and dropped us in town, cooked us a beautiful breakfast every morning, and were always around for a chat or to assist us in any way we needed. The accommodation was exceptionally clean and felt so homely. My friend and I will recommend this place to anyone that is looking to go to Townsville. Thank you Russell and Iva for such an amazing experience! Nothing.

Der Kühlschrank steht mit kühlen Getränken zur Verfügung und wir bekamen sofort einen Kaffee zur Begrüßung. Wir bekamen das beste Frühstück bisher in Australien. Gern wieder.

Wir haben tolle Tipps erhalten, die uns noch einmal an ganz andere Orte geführt haben. Auch das Frühstück war großartig: pochierte Eier und eine liebevoll zubereitete Obstplatte. Wer ein Haus mit Geschichte mag und nach zuvorkommenden Gastgebern sucht, ist hier absolut richtig! Vielen Dank für den wunderbaren Aufenthalt, wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

• Constanze (10/5): Genau das Richtige für ein paar Tage Townsville - Sehr schönes altes Haus mit stilvoller Einrichtung. Man fühlt sich ein wenig wie in den Südstaaten. Es gibt 2 Gästezimmer im Haus, jedes mit eigenem Badezimmer. Im Salon steht ein Billard-Tisch zur Benutzung und man kann sich ein Glas Portwein gönnen, den die Gastgeber dort bereitgestellt haben. Das Frühstück wird zeitlich und inhaltlich so serviert, wie man es möchte, über Obstplatte, Yoghurt, Müsli, Toast mit Marmeladen bis hin zur Eiern (in unserem Fall Spiegel-Ei). Überhaupt sind die Gastgeber das eigentliche Highlight. Iva und Russel sind nett und total hilfsbereit. Ihre Tipps waren uns eine große Hilfe, und das über Townsville und Magnetic Island hinaus. Sie haben sogar angeboten, uns zum Hafen zur Fähre zu fahren, damit wir selbst nicht fahren und dort parken müssen. Besser kann man unseres Erachtens ein B&B nicht betreiben. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt und empfehlen es gern weiter.

They greeted me with tea and ensured that I was comfortable from travelling and in the amenities and room. The 1890s Queenslander was beautifully charming and sitting out on the back deck with a 100 year old mango tree! Quintessentially Queensland! They recommended the best Thai in Townsville and breakfast was perfect.

Our room was stylish, spotless, and very cozy. Highly recommended if you’re staying in Townsville!

The hosts were absolutely lovely and super helpful with tips for our trip to Magnetic Island (parking, bus schedules, places to stay etc.). In the morning we enjoyed the perfect breakfast with tea/coffee, a beautiful and delicious food platter, eggs, jam, butter and toast. Not to forget the gorgeous house with lots of charming little details, capturing the true essence of the 1890s when it was built. We loved it and would definitely return! -

A very warm personal welcome, information on things to do/where to go and in the morning a great breakfast on the terrace with tasty local fruits. One couldn't ask for more. A perfect stay ! Nothing.

Should you want somewhere far removed from the large commercial stopovers, this may be perfect for you. Location is around 2 kms from the town centre, with easy access to everywhere. It also offers off-street parking. Classic Bed & Breakfast offers a country style experience with hosts who go the extra mile. There is nothing to dislike, but a simple tea making service in each room would be an advantage.

Breakfast was elaborate and delicious, and also included a generous fruit plate, along with eggs fried or boiled according to each guest’s request. Best of all was meeting the caring and generous hosts, who created a wonderful family-like atmosphere.

• Louise (10/5): Very friendly and extremely clean rooms - I stayed there because I had a medical appointment, and I couldn’t of asked for a more friendly and hospitable staff , Classic bed and breakfast is a beautiful house and it has a lot of history. From the moment I got there I was shown through the premises and my room was so clean and comfortable, I was welcomed with a lovely pot of tea, my breakfast in the morning had beautiful fresh fruit and cereal and toast and jam. The owners of the premises are the most welcoming couple I have met in a long time. I will most definitely be staying there again . Nothing

• Samuel (10/5): 1000 out of 10 - amazing - Me and my partner were awestruck after travelling up thr east coast for 2 months and coming across this amazing bnb in Townsville. As any backpacker would, I'm sure they have treat days to escape hostels, but we definitely chose the best place. It felt like home, we barely wanted to leave the room it was that cosy. The owners are so friendly, helpful, and offer to make tea or coffee at any time they bump into you. It was great quality, really really clean, the breakfast kept us full until the late afternoon, and we had a great night sleep. I cannot recommend any other place than this. Thanks again for our stay Sam & Megan Absolutely no faults. I'd live there if I could!!
• Leslee (10/5): Gorgeous Bed and Breakfast Close to the City Centre. - This was a first rate stay with wonderful hosts that made us feel at home. This is a fabulous house that was elegant and well maintained. There was safe off street parking and the owners greeted us warmly. We were offered a cuppa on arrival which was very much appreciated and we were given a tour of the house and its facilities. The accommodation was within walking distance to the football stadium and the city centre. We enjoyed a complimentary port (or you could have a sherry) and the breakfast the next morning was very, very good. The fruit platter was full of tropical fruits and even some that we had not tried. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. We will be back when we a next back in Townsville.

BUT the owners were the real bonus; pleasant, friendly without being intrusive and informative. The shower could do with a refurbishment and it would be nice to have a tv in your room.
