The cabin itself, was very clean, had all the cooking facilities we needed and one of the most comfortable king size beds I have slept in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend. The monster sized huntsman spiders that come out at night on the deck to feed on the insects! Terrifying! However it comes hand in hand with being in nature. We coped and survived lol

Angel (10/5): THE BEST PLACE WE HAVE STAYED AT EVA!!!! - We stayed 2 nites to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. We have stayed in a couple of different rainforest retreats but this 1 was by far the best! Quiet. Clean, private, fully self contained, and the views AMAZING!!!.the complimentary local yogurt and chocolates topped it off perfectly. Thr bed was huge and ap comfortable.. I slept better those 2 nites than I have all year! Didn't get to meet Glenn and Angela but the txt messages we got were lovely. These guys have thought of everything.. we will definitely be bak! For the 1st time in 3 years we could not find 1 single fault or complaint. Actually hubby saved me from a huge huntsman spider but thats hardly anyone's fault. Nothing bad to say at all.

I didnt like that the shower was over the bath, having to climb in was dangerous as bath had no non slip mat . This is an easy fix, not great for older people or for someone like me with a leg injury.

The sheet on top of the bed was stained and the pillows felt like 50 pillows stuff into one pillowcase it was so hard, unable to use it to sleep (both the ones on the bed and the spare).

reneenjolandab (10/5): great reception and a beautiful location - After a late flight, some delays and a traffic jam in Brisbane we arrived quite late at Whispering Valley Cottage. Upon arrival the fridge was stocked so we could eat something. There was even a box of delicious chocolates. The fireplace was ready to light. So it was a great welcome and furthermore a beautiful and quiet location and a nice starting point for some nice trips.
hayleysT8729XM (10/5): A wonderful winter stay!! - We absolutely loved our stay! After a busy period at work, we really needed a quiet, relaxing break and Whispering Valley was perfect! The comfiest king bed, and huge spa bath were a real treat - but the fireplace was our favourite part! In a chilly winter week, it was so peaceful and warm to enjoy a fire every evening and just listen to the birds and local wildlife around us. Meeting owner Glenn and feeding the resident donkeys while learning about the property history was lovely too, as were the walking tracks around the gorgeous property. The breakfast basket and cheese platter were delicious and plentiful, definitely treat yourselves to these during you stay! We’re now hooked on the Maleny smoked cheese. The kitchen facilities and deck BBQ have everything you need to self-cater meals (as we did), but Maleny is very nearby if you prefer to eat out too. We couldn’t recommend Whispering Valley enough, and can’t wait to be back! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Jax (10/5): Heavenly - It was so incredibly comfortable, and we felt so safe. Extremely relaxing, two spa baths, one looking over the bush, gorgeous. Warm fire, generous amounts of firewood, freshly ground coffee in the fridge, lovely melaney milk, beds were wonderful, candles, games and hammocks, beautiful robes, bbq, and natural soaps. Very clean! We loved our stay, thank you!! 😊 extremely thoughtful hosts! Nothing, just wish the storm held off to visit the donkeys 🫏, next time!!

The new bathroom was beautiful, and we loved the complementary local yoghurt and milk. The bed was soft, but that may work for others and is personal preference.
Narelle (9/5): Quiet affordable Oasis - Spent 2 nights here on a girls' weekend away. It is a perfect peaceful affordable place to relax and unwind while still only being a short picturesque drive to the boutique shops, cafes and sights of Malaney and Montville. Loved the contactless check in and privacy. We will be back.

A wallaby jumped onto the verandah too and we also saw a goanna. Maleny is a short drive away and has everything you need. Also recommend nearby waterfalls and Bird World.
Cruzin303 (10/5): Can't wait to go back and try the fire place. - Fantastic cottage, Tallowood! All we needed for a relaxing 3 day break away for Christmas. Angela and Glenn were great at communicating with us about check in and check out. It was great to sit on the deck and be serenaded by the cicadas and frogs but not hear a single car, in fact the cottage was so private you really didn't know there were other people around, well apart from the distant Hee-Haw of some hungry donkeys, but a few carrots soon settled them !! The kitchen and BBQ can cater for most family cooks,cordon bleu dining is mostly out of the question, but stock up at the Maleny Butcher, and your sorted.
Verified traveler (6/5): Nature lovers bring your microscopes - Easy checkin via a text before arrival. Fantastic location. Was expecting a Jetted Bath but got a double shower instead. There were a lot of bugs in the cottage upon arrival. It was endless. If you like nature, you will love this cottage. Dirty sheets encountered first night but remedy quickly by reception next day. No Wifi but internet access available for emergency at reception. This includes only having access to local tv….as far away as Darwin! Encouraged us to roam the surrounding area - Quadbiking and Maleny Botanical Gardens…great experiences but outside if this we sat every night on the cottage balcony and played cards. Something we wouldn’t do at home with every known device available to us. This was nice for the soul. One other thing I would like to say, if you need a firm bed to be romantic this is not your cottage. Prepare to sink to the middle, holding on like mountain climbers. Overall, we enjoyed our experience in Witta/Maleny, the good, the bug and the ugly.

The fireplaces and spas were so relaxing, especially the rainforest view from the bath. Just a short drive into town to pick up some yummy things to cook on the bbq and enjoy the nature.

Jimmy (1/5): Bad - I was happy enough with the hosts allowing us an extra hour to check out We arrived around 2.00pm,then proceeded to unload our bags and shopping. We entered the bungalow to find NO!! air-conditioning! The bungalow was a hot box as it was 34 degrees and humid. I contacted the host straight away and told him of our concerns,of which he replied, "Sorry, no air-conditioning,we have installed air-conditioning in some bungalows, but they are booked I was not happy as I believe it is the hosts priority to ensure the comfort of their guests,especially when paying $330 for one night. I told him we could not stay as was too hot inside bungalow, of which he replied,"It will cool down later. He did not offer a raincheck to come back another time and utilise an air-conditioned bungalow or even to come back next winter. We left as I had found other accommodations that had air-conditioning. I am very disappointed as I paid $300 to secure a 2nd lot of accommodation. I believe I am entitled to a rain check or a credit with Booking.com Regards James Martini

Wayne (9/5): Bush experience, away from the crowds and a great place to unwind - Quiet, secluded location in natural bush setting. Saw wallaby from back deck. Good selection of DVDs as TV channels limited and mobile phone coverage not great. Bonus was the coffee maker and pods. Didn't need the fire as it was warm but one had been laid in the slow combustion fireplace if we needed it. Well equipped. Being in the bush my wife did pick up a tick. Little bit out of town so you need to plan how you will do meals etc. Little bit on the expensive side.

Happyxcouple (10/5): Serenely relaxing accommodation - We had a lovely stay at Tallowood cabin at Whispering Valley Cottage Retreat. The beds were very comfortable and we melted into them. The deck was our favourite place and loved listening to the frogs, birds etc. Not a single traffic sound to be heard. The cabin had everything you would need. We opted for a breakfast tray which had oodles of food, plenty to last two breakfasts for two people. Quality was excellent. Communication with the owners was spot on, just enough and also they offered much appreciated directions to access the site which is (wonderfully) tucked out of the way. In terms of phone reception, we had Optus mobile access the whole time which was unfortunately needed as we were managing a contract of sale on our home....but also handy for scoping things to do for each day of our stay. Very much enjoyed this accommodation and would stay again in a heartbeat. Prices were also very reasonable.

Deborah3000 (4/5): Disappointing - Very basic cottage. The owners might as well forget about the dvds. The choice is so limited. The uneven terrain around the cottages made it very difficult to go for walks. Not that the walks would have been interesting anyway since they are so limited. At some point we thought of going through the main path that seemed to lead to the owners’ property as we were looking for the donkeys and a car went past spewing out dirty fumes! The poor donkeys didn’t look too healthy in their enclosure either.
