• Penny (10/5): Would not hesitate to recommend this motel to others. - We had booked a one bedroom unit with another bed in the lounge for two couples and were delighted to find ourselves upgraded to a two-bedroom unit. The unit had been recently refurbished and was spotlessly clean. The bed and pillows were a little firm for my liking but the bed in the lounge was softer, and that’s just personal preference. We stayed two nights and the unit was serviced on the second day. The unit had an actual fridge freezer rather than the small fridge you usually get in a motel unit, which was nice. In addition to the table with 4 chairs, there were two comfortable recliner chairs plus the queen bed in the living room.

• Shantelle (7/5): Good rooms but don’t talk or laugh too loud - We stayed before and really like the rooms spacious and clean and bright. Trucks are loud but to be expected on main road. The rooms were good same as last time we stayed there but a warning, if you are a family that enjoys yarns and laughter, good clean yarns and no smoking, noalcohol or anything involved, just good clean catch up yarns and laughter, be prepared to be assumed to be having a party and a visit from the owner, telling you that guests need to leave by 9:30, it was 5:30 in the avo and we were all fully paid guests of the motel. We were just sitting around talking and laughing, but obviously we must have been talking and laughing too loud. That was a shame, cause we really like that motel but has put us off going back again.

• Nigel (9/5): One night in Hawera - I liked the space, I liked having a bedroom. The dishes and cutlery were clean. The lazy boy chair was a nice bonus, and so were the biscuits. I'm pleased that there was a separate bin for food scraps, we have that at home too. The WiFi was stable. The body wash in the shower came out of the container one drip at a time. The sofa didn't face the TV.

Very basic for the cost. Shower pressure was awesome. Lazy boy was very comfortable. The bed is very firm which i'm not used to so my back suffered and woke several times because of it. But if your used to a firm bed it would be fine. No chocolates as in description which would have been cute being Easter but thats just a nit pick really. Shower like most motels is very low so if your tall like my husband its not much fun haha. We would stay again if needed because cleanliness is our main priority and it was certainly very clean. No garden view as we just saw car park. My husband went for a walk round and it seemed the other units all had back doors and seats but ours only had one exit so we only saw the carpark but again we were hardly there so it was fine really

Checked with lady staff, was advised to use low heat or else just use two, not helpful. Warned about heavy cooking as smoke trigger alarm. Kinda makes cooking exp unjoyable but still, we made our fair dinner from the stay. Confused by two wall heater. One heavy duty unit wasn't working. Heater next to TV saved our bods from cold night. Overall a reasonably nice stay.

Good facilities for our family A bit touch and go with approaching the owner, felt like we were going to get a growling every time we approached her. One of the beds had no sheet or duvet on it and we didn't return to the hotel til late so couldn't do anything about it.
