• Rachel (9/5): - Desme was super friendly and generous. Despite the cold weather, the lodge was cosy and warm. The history of the place was proudly displayed and lots of information of things to do was provided. A quiet and picturesque location close to the town.

• Michaela (10/5): Great stay - We had a very warm welcome from the owner. Our room was the Harbour View Suite which is very spacious with fantastic views. We had everything we needed. The bed is very comfortable and has heat blankets which was appreciated. It is a very quiet area with a peaceful atmosphere and great to relax but still only a few minutes drive to downtown. We had a lovely stay and only regret that we didn’t stay longer. We would definitely stay here again. nothing

• Roger (9/5): - Warmly welcomed. Extra items in the dining room/lounge for guests use. I had the most amazing dawn sky over the water/garden. Nice gardens and bbq to sit out in. Be careful if you go on the long walk around the garden as the path can be very slippy. Instructions do tell you to be careful. En-suite a little tight.

• Sue (10/5): A great place to stay and unwind! - The Wilderness Lodge is located just outside Strahan, but everything was just a 5 minute drive away. The views from the property were stunning as it overlooks the bay. There was a walk down to the bay and one around the gardens. Try to find Bob if you can! We found our stay there to be very relaxing and we could have stayed longer. When we come back to Strahan we will definitely stay here again. The room itself was gorgeous, comfy bed and a very clean bathroom. It was easy to check in and out of with Des being a wonderful host. There is a communal kitchen which was well equipped and a communal lounge/dining room area, though we mostly had it to ourselves! We can highly recommend The Wilderness Lodge to everyone.

Amazing views with picnic tables outside in a lovely garden with several possible walks. Enjoyed learning about the history of the house. Nice and quiet but only 5 min drive into town of Strahan. Room surprisingly large with lots of storage space. Nothing if you’re prepared to share a small old kitchen with others. We’re more than happy too hence nothing to dislike.

Un manque d'insonorisation des chambres car certains clients se l'évent à 06h30 et font du bruits dans la cuisine qui donne sur les chambres. Juste un peu de discipline par exemple 7h00 à 21h30 max bruits. Après cela dérange. Le premier soir 23h15 avant de pouvoir dormir.

• Andrew Stewart (10/5): A wonderfull retreat in the wilderness with stunning views of Macquarie Harbour. - We went to Strahan looking for a quiet and relaxing wilderness getaway and the Wilderness Lodge allowed us to make the most of the location. The proprietors were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, the house and gardens had many homely features such as a bar-b-cue and a very serviceable common room and kitchen. The views were stunning, but we really loved the path from the garden through the woods down to secluded spots along the shore and boat jetties. Nothing.

The kitchenette was loaded with tea coffee etc as well as kitchen implements and tools. The beds were comfortable and warm. You do need a car to get there but it was lovely.

A bit of noise from guests in the other rooms. Walls aren’t really insulated against noise. Nothing that really bothered us though.

We experienced a power outage while there and our hosts were very happy to assist in any way to not let it cause any inconvenience to our stay It’s a bit out of town but no issue if you have a car.

• Diana (10/5): Strahan Wilderness Lodge is a quiet, clean and comfortable place to stay while visiting Strahan. - Strahan Wilderness Lodge was easy to get to if you have a vehicle. The shared dining room area and kitchen has a lovely view of the water and Strahan across the bay. The Wilderness Lodge was clean and furnished well. it ws a quiet and comfortable place to stay. The couple running it are friendly and helpful.

If you want a cooked breakfast, best to head out for brunch. Location is very picturesque and right on the water but not walking distance to the town. Lovely hosts. The rooms are super comfortable, we were there in late autumn, sunny days and cold nights. All rooms have heating and electric blankets! Very comfy beds. All in all, excellent value for money. There was nothing we didn't like.
