• Rish (8/5): - The room was clean and basic. Staff were friendly but it felt under staff. I tried to have breakfast but the staff were too busy so I gave up. However, for the price it was good
• Mollie (8/5): - Refurbished room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Due to the nature of it being an old building it was quite noisy and could hear doors slamming, floorboards creaking and conversations through walls. Was attending a wedding locally so this was a convenient and affordable place to stay.
• Nicole (10/5): - We stayed here for one night and had dinner in the restaurant. The staff at Dormie House are incredible - so helpful and friendly. All of the guys who helped at check-in and dinner were so welcoming. We had a delicious meal and dessert, it was hard to narrow down a selection from the many choices on the menu! This was followed by a lovely sleep in the comfortable bed, which we really needed as we were taking part in a big event the next day. Everything was clean and fresh. I attend an annual event in Bundanoon and was so glad to have discovered the Dormie House. I'll be back next year!

• Peter (6/5): - Nice place although our room overlooking the golf course had golfers wandering right past our window and chatting. We didnt expect that we would be beside the practice area. What was REALLY annoying was the UHT milk tubs in our fridge just curdled when we made a coffee. Surely its not too hard to replace these every decade or so? We went to a service station to get fresh milk. Next morning we ordered a bacon and egg roll and a hash brown in the dining room. We waited 30 minutes and it still didnt arrive so we cancelled the order. Bar staff were very apologetic and gave us a refund, and also a free B&E roll. Kudos to the young man.

Dining room was warm the first morning but no heat on the Sunday morning. Stairs hard for my wife to manage. Suggest putting a lift in the storage room. The venue was quiet, and the bed was comfortable.

Hallways have stained carpet needing recarpeting. Dining room depressing. Receptionist very friendly but rest of staff unfriendly and need training. Our bed had blood stains on the Donna cover. Hotel needs proper management as the property has great potential.

• jenniferaD3211HD (2/5): Disappointing, hard earned stay. - We wish we had read reviews prior to staying at Dormie House NSW Australia. Disappointing. Nice staff. Unhealthily bedroom & ensuite. Cleanliness level of bathroom, ordinary. I do not believe would meet a habitable code where mould is present. Black Mould in bathrooms. False advertising of rooms, even the non refurbished. Had not realised prior to booking there was a choice of refurbished. Restaurant level, no, just a bar & bistro & great deck outside. I know we have all been hit by COVID’s fall out, but this is false advertising & the health aspect alarming. The whole place needs a complete renovation. We will not be staying here again.

• Brian (8/5): - The Dormie house is a beautiful historic building on the edge of a nice golf course. You will want to get a refurbished room. If you rely on hotel wifi during stay, be aware that, even though they offer wifi, it is so bad as to be non existent.

• Melissa (2/5): - When we arrived the room we were meant to be checking into was dirty when we opened the door. It had not been cleaned from previous people staying. The staff were friendly and accommodated us with some drinks whilst waiting for it to be cleaned. No air-conditioning on hottest day in March, we asked for a fan but that didn't work. Bed uncomfortable and in need of upgrading. Generally i guess a cheap stay but you get what you pay for.
• Michelle (10/5): - Lovely renovated room although the tv did not have a remote control. Bed was very comfortable and we had had 2 peaceful nights of sleep. My only suggestion would be to have a full length mirror in the room or out in the hallway of common area. As we were attending a wedding it would have been convenient to have a full length mirror to assist us. I would stay here again without a question.
• reid1011 (2/5): Unsafe Rooms - Don’t stay here. Booked 2 nights well in advance and room was covered in mould. When we alerted staff they didn’t offer an alternative and we had to remain in a room that was a health hazard. When checking out they offered $30 off the price… very embarrassing

• Dallis (8/5): - Dormie House is an old style hotel set in shady gardens adjacent to the golf course and in a quiet residential area. My room was adequate, quite small, with a bathroom. The tap dripped in the basin, management advised they would rectify that.

• Colin (10/5): - A lift would be good, as the stairs for us older people are getting hard. Other than that, I would highly recommend this as a place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and sitting on the deck with a cold beer watching the golfers is the best way to enjoy the game.

• 628jz (2/5): Appalling stay - Writing this as noise from a massive fan unit outside our room and floodlights on the adjacent eaves produced a sleepless night. This venue has ruined our weekend. $230 poorer a nightmare stay was the final insult. I would never stay here again.

Not sure why it was going on and off through the night, couldn't hear anyone in hallway. Builders started at 7.00a which was annoying. Would consider elsewhere next time.

• markbI422AJ (8/5): a faded gem being restored to its former glory - Booked a colleague in for an overnight stay. He was upgraded to one of the renovated rooms - very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful Didn't have any meals, but the coffee was great! Still some work to be done but it's a beautiful location and recommended

• Elzabeth (2/5): - Food was excellent but we were given a room that wasn't safe or quiet, as renovation work was being carried out during our afternoon siesta and we also had a bad night in cramped conditions with a sliding door to the bathroom that dislodged off its rollers. Then in the morning workman clanging and banging at 7am so no sleeping in . We weren't sure if asbestos dust was i laminating our space from above ...Terribly disappointing
• Bernie (6/5): - I’m a regular at Dormie and usually it’s good, however this time it wasn’t up to normal. A couple of things: 1. I was placed in Rm5, where I have stayed before. Unfortunately the cold water tapin the vanity only had a drizzle of water coming out of it, along with black water/muck out of its bottom. Hot water worked fine. I suspect a worn tap seat and washer. I was moved to Rm2 after telling staff. 2. Unfortunately when I found out the vanity taps there dripped and couldn’t be turned down, reception had closed. To have 2 vanity issues in 2 separate rooms sounds suspiciously like a lack of regular maintenance and inspection. A bit cheeky when you have to pay full whack in advance through the bookings app.
• Darcy (10/5): - Our room was recently renovated to a high standard. One of the best bathrooms we’ve ever had anywhere around the world. Even had underfloor heating.

• Suzel (6/5): - For a pretty old hotel of this kind, maintenance needs to be reviewed. The carpet was filthy, peeling paint in the bathroom. Small Tv for the size of the room. Dirty windows. Non-existent Internet. The heating was not working properly. There was a piece of chocolate bar wrapper between the bed and the nightstand.
• MICHELE (8/5): - The refurbished rooms are spacious & lovely, however it would be helpful to have a guide explaining how to operate the air conditioner & details for the internet. I had to watch a youtube video to get the air con working.

• Stan (10/5): - A very warm welcome when arriving. All the staff where very helpful when you asked them a question and found out the answer. A very relaxing place.
• Natalie (4/5): - Cons: Shower curtain mouldy, no light cover in bathroom, no aircon, flyscreen not fitted so 3inch gap, carpet needs replacing Pros: upright fan on cupboard helped on hot day/ night, sheets clean, quiet location (although upstairs guests footfalls loud), no signs to dining/bar Possibly needs a heritage restoration grant to bring up to a basic accom standard.
• Russell (4/5): - Whilst our room had been renovated and has potential it was lacking a chair for both of us and no table to be able to sit at. There is an external flood light right outside the window making the room very bright all night. The exhaust vent from the kitchen in on the external wall between both windows making the room smell like dirty cooking fat - revolting really A few easy fixes and the room would be to it’s internal appearance The hallways and entry to the building are dirty and very unorganised - disappearing for the money paid
• marciadE5847NR (2/5): Very dirty, creepy and expensive - Dirty room. Soiled carpets, fungus on shower, bathroom taps, filthy mini fridge…awfully disgusting room (no. 1). Thankfully bedding was clean. Reception staff absolutely appalling and unhelpful. After hours number rang out to a voicemail. Tired and depressing place, generally. Way too expensive for what it offers. Would’ve been a much nicer place in its heyday.
• Geoffrey (10/5): - parking for guests was being used by golfers which meant parking in the street for some as well as having to carry luggage. Management need to be stricter on guest parking or you will lose potential guests
