Guest Reviews
- Carole (9/5): - Great location. Comfortable and clean in a bush setting.
- Roxanne (8/5): - The cottage was very comfortable for our stay. A decent walk to everything. This is a stupid dislike... shower curtains..I do not like them.
The shower head was amazing but the curtain made it dark.... lol like I said..stupid dislike.
- Watts (9/5): Home style comfort - The accomodation was very clean and inviting. There was nothing to go me plain about.
- Lee-Anne (8/5): -
- Karyn (8/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): A great location of this cottage and reasonably priced. - Communication with Mike and Fiona (the owners) was extremely accommodating and respectful. We were appreciative of the emails answered and our family needs were met for our stay with a baby and our 2 dogs. I recommend this accommodation. It would be nice for more care in the hand soap dispensers to be updated and furniture to be updated. The queen bed in the Geranium Cottage was comfortable and bedding for all beds were professional and comfortable.
- Prabhveer (10/5): Good spot - The location is great: able to cycle to the nearby valley & vineyards, down the road to the local shops/pub, under an hour to Adelaide CBD.
The place itself is good: everything matches the facilities listed.
The caretakers were superb, very quick to respond & helpful with the local area.
- alan (8/5): Established, good, VFM accommodation in an excellent location for a couple of days - The two cottages are well appointed for access to Lyndoch and also for touring around the immediate Barossa Valley area. Parking is right at the chosen cottage (be prepared for bird droppings on the car by the morning).Excellent communications with the owners regarding arrival (we never met them) and access to the cottage was clear. Clean cottage (Geranium) and Very comfy bed in our cottage with adequate facilities for a couple of days , kettle, toaster and pod coffee machine, with microwave and useful bench top oven with two hobs offering good VFM for the price paid (December). With an outside (decking) sitting area offering an opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine and some food. A couple of the vineyards are within walking distance as is eating establishments in town plus the Ministry of Beer which is a good alternative for some tap beer instead of wine. A couple of things that could be considered without being overly costly but having a positive customer impact experience is a coffee table in the living area. This would immediately enhance that area greatly. Additionally to keep within the theme of the Barossa, a simple set of wine glasses (red and white) all the same (not mismatched over some years one suspects) is an easy way to create a better atmosphere. Also a wine cooler would be a nice touch. The TV appeared to have nothing more than terrestrial TV available which is perhaps in this day and age a little odd where Netflix etc is often available in most accommodation that we have used before. It did not overly bother us but we saw nothing in tens of TV operation. Also a simple outside lantern for the outside setting would be simple yet effective. We were not really sure about the value of having pot noodles and packet oats being available?
- Melanie (9/5): Beautiful cottage in the heart of the Barossa. - Lovely little cottage in a good location. Stove top was very high. We had to stand on a stool to use it.
- Marie Pickering (DRMCRL) (8/5): - Easy to find, very quiet despite being close to the town centre. Comfortable beds and great shower pressure. Loved the induction cooktop - super efficient! A coffee table or side tables in lounge would be great. The knives were a little blunt and the glass cutting boards were a bit unsteady.
- Dinesh (10/5): Amazing. - Cleanliness, especially the in the bed sheet all the sheets and blankets were clean which has been failed by other places we stayed before. Nothing
- Allison (8/5): -
- jamie (9/5): Wonderful - Waking up to the sound of rain and the birds It felt like we were In the bush with the sound of all the birds al around the property and close to some of the most beautiful wineries.
- Joanne (9/5): Fantastic location, clean and contained everything required. - Fantastic location, clean and cosy. Nothing
- Deborah (10/5): - The Barossa County Cottages were so nice and cozy. They had everything my friend and I needed for a weeks stay in the Barossa Valley. Fiona was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. If we had to text her she responded right away. The property is within walking distance of the town area of Lindoch. We loved our stay.
- Therese (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Terri (8/5): Very good -
- Kerry (9/5): Superb -
- Sally (10/5): Comfortable cottage in a gorgeous setting! - We loved everything about our stay! The cottage was in a gorgeous peaceful location with a lovely verandah to sit on. It had everything you could possibly need and there were little touches like Tim tams in the fridge, partridge, 2 min noodles etc. The owners were also very accommodating in allowing us an early check in. Would highly recommend!
- Brian (7/5): Acceptable, but I would not book again at that price point - I do not think that the cottage was worth the cost that was asked for
- Tarsha (9/5): Superb -
- Lynda (8/5): Very good - Good location. Comfortable, quiet and private
- Cathryn (8/5): Good for the price, but needs upgrading. - Bridie the caretaker is amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. The cottage needs some upgrading, but nothing to drastic. Local area has cafes and eateries.
Pictures are fairly accurate. No dishwasher, yet they expected dishes to be done before you left. Not easy when you are leaving early.
The shower has a curtain that you constantly fight with whilst trying to shower.
- Salena (10/5): -
We were very happy with everything thankyou.
- Damien (9/5): Lovely quiet location and convenient. - Great location, short walk to IGA and centre of Lyndoch, kitchen was well set up and provisions provided.
- Lis (9/5): A little hideaway - The cottage was a good central point to explore the Barossa.
Set back from the road it was lovely and quiet.
Perfect for a getaway.
- Helen (10/5): We loved our 4 day stay here, thank you! - We loved sitting on the veranda watching the kookaburras and parakeets.Plenty of room for 4 of us with great facilities and a homely feel. Great to be able to do some washing and dry it on the line at the back and borrow bikes. We loved going wine tasting at the Cellar doors and good location for that with several within walking distance. A big thank you to Birdie who helped me sort a phone issue and was delightful. Nothing
- Denise (10/5): Great position everything was supplied - Very much suited our expectations
- Sharon (8/5): Very good -
- Seonnam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Murray (7/5): A quiet and secluded cottage in a convenient location for the Barossa - The cottage met expectations. It would be good value for two couples but it would be cosy.
We specifically looked for accommodation with a washing machine as we are travelling for a while and this was great. The TV functions worked well. The airconditioning worked well. The bed was comfortable. Very accommodating with the use of a bicycle (but a better helmet is needed – as it is a requirement) The shower is in a bath. This seems to be a dated idea but maybe some people prefer. The toilet door has limited clearance from the toilet bowl so tricky to negotiate.
- Gary (9/5): Superb -
- David (5/5): Ok - Location was good Old dated and minimal supplies
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - The cottage was cozy and well-equipped, featuring a comfortable living area and a well-stocked kitchen. It was the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway, conveniently close to the center of town and local wineries. Our stay was peaceful and quiet. The welcome basket filled with treats and essentials was a nice touch. The air conditioning and fans kept us cool, and the beds were comfortable.
- Travis (10/5): - It was comfortable and secluded, which was nice. The caretaker was good.
- Coogan (9/5): Superb -
- Barnes (5/5): Only stayed one night. Whole cabin and facilities badly needed an upgrade, including hot water syste - Location was good. Cabin was clean on arrival. Hot water almost non-existent, Cold shower.
- Mel (9/5): Thankyou so much, Jacaranda Cottage was great value for money and is a fully equipped cottage, with friendly owners and - The cottage was cosy, there was a well equipped kitchen, the living area was comfortable. There is a nice porch out the front. The shower was superb, with a deep bath. Comfortable beds. The air conditioning was good and it was great to have fans in the bedrooms. Lovely natural soundings outside the cottage. The wood fire looked cute and would be great in winter. The facilities for my puppy were very good, it was so helpful to have a fenced in area out the back for him! Appreciated the breakfast box, free biscuits in the fridge and all the tourist information. Bridee, the caretaker, was friendly.
- Kristina (5/5): Clean and neat, but the hot water issue was a problem. - There was no hot water for half of our time there.
- Bronte (10/5): Couldn't have been better. - Loved the home away from home aspect and the close proximity to many other features. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and my daughter and I really appreciated the offer to check out a little later, as it allowed us to do more things in the area before returning to Adelaide.
- Nora (10/5): Highly recommend as a great base for touring the Barossa - The cottage was very comfortable and clean, with outdoor seating on the verandah and a covered bbq area. It is in a quiet location, but is close to Lyndoch with restaurants and a supermarket. The on site caretakers were amazing. The front door lock was faulty when we arrived, and Ken replaced it the next morning….really impressive service. They had lots of good advice and recommendations for the local area too.
- Marianne (3/5): Won't stay there again ! - The dirty windows and screen door ,also had to wash outside table and chairs before use .
- Justine (9/5): Superb -
- Linda (8/5): Value for money, accommodating owners. - Value for money All good
- Clare (9/5): Superb setting quiet spacious - Spacious all good
- Tammy (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful little cottage tucked away from the main road, only a short walk from the center of town. Was very comfortable and self-contained. Will definitely stay there again
- Shireen (10/5): Exceptional - It was perfect for our weekend visit to Lyndoch.
- Heath (10/5): Awesome - The cottage was clean and had more than expected. They accommodated my animal and had a area for him to run around. Honestly I can't think of anything.
- Emma (7/5): Good -
- Christine (7/5): Nice - Location & setting Was ok- clean & comfortable
- Judith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scott (9/5): Superb -
- Marie (9/5): Fab stay with friends! - Great accommodation for a group and location for wineries and distance from Adelaide.
Lovely hosts very helpful 👌 Nothing!
- Glenda (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (8/5): Good value. I would stay there again. - Location in Lyndoch was great. It’s a nice little town and the locals were friendly. I enjoyed a walk to the shops. The washing machine at the cottage was a huge bonus. The check-in arrangements worked well. Plenty of hot water. The cooking arrangements were a dead loss. It took us two nights to work out how to operate the bench top stove. The reverse cycle aircon took some mastering; we ended up relying on the little oil heater.
- Maxine (6/5): Our stay would have been very pleasant if it was just 2 of us and no dog. - Pleasant little cottage for 2 people. Very quiet, just the bird noise which is lovely to hear. Off the main road. Close to walking and bakery/shops/park. Verandah with seating is a nice place to sit. Lack of a secure garden area for the dog - very small scruffy area with a low fence and no lock on the gate - easy for any child to get in which is dangerous, our little dog would have been terrified to be left in such an enclosed space, she was a rescue dog. Not being allowed to leave our dog inside on its own even though I'd contacted owner and explained we always carried large sheets/couch covers with us and covered the furniture to keep it clean and hair-free. Plastic mattress protector - an ordinary one would be better - causing a very, very warm sleep the first night before we removed it. Lack of hand towels - just one between 3 of us. Too small access for toilet if disabled. BBQ outside toilet window. Spa area - which comes up on the phone - unavailable. Lack of communication between owners and caretaker. Cleaning could have been better.
- Astrid (8/5): Simple but comfortable- good beds - Simple but clean Good restaurants and wineries nearby
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ravi (9/5): Lovely area and the cottage was clean and comfortable hosts were very obliging -
- Nicole (9/5): Very clean quiet location great for what we wanted hosts where so quick in getting any issues we had fixed would definit - Very quiet location Nothing
- Rose (10/5): - beautiful surroundings, quiet and peaceful
- Marie (7/5): Good - The stove is old & faulty. Lounge cushions were soft & not comfortable
- Neil (8/5): Pretty good 😊 - Last time we had bacon & eggs left this time we biscuits 🍪 Easy walk to town and a good central place to stay 👍 Don’t think you could do much else other than make it back to a bed & breakfast 🥞
- Matthew (9/5): Superb -
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clifford (7/5): Comfortable and coney. The Caretaker was very responsive to a problem. - Beds very comfortable good provisions responsive caretaker. Need more towels and face-flannels. Dispensers in the shower we’re difficult to use.
- Cristina (10/5): Home away from home - Location was convenient and stunning, cottage was neat, tidy and homely. Absolutely nothing. Our stay was wonderful.
- Joy (10/5): - This cozy little cottage had everything you need for a weekend away in the Barossa Valley. Situated close to Lyndoch and walkable to 4 or 5 good wineries. Loved the nice touches such as wood for the fire and some oats, noodles and chocolate biscuits.
- Emma (8/5): Home from home. We had a wonderful stay and will hopefully be back soon. -
- Johns (8/5): Very good - The location was great. Facilities were good. We didn't bring our dog, a golden retriever. I thought the area fenced off for a dog was a bit too small.
- Carol (10/5): - We had a fantastic and relaxing stay at this well located but tranquil property. The beds were very comfortable and all the amenities you could need were provided. The fireplace was ready to be lit which was lovely and the little snacks left for us were a very nice extra touch.
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- Fleur (8/5): Very good - Proximity to attractions was good Kettle dirty/full of scale
Aircon thermostat seemed inaccurate
Shower - great water pressure. But sprayed onto floor/door even when careful. Did not realise shower/bath combo.
Personally would not have such strongly scented air fresheners and diffusers. Was overwhelming and could be an issue for any guests with allergies or asthma
- John (8/5): Very nice, will stay again - The cottages were lovely. Unfortunately, we had to leave a day early due to family emergency. All good
- Phillip (9/5): lovely place to explore Barossa area -
- Margaret (8/5): Very good - comfortable and convenient small tv
- Catherine (8/5): Very good -
- Avril (9/5): Superb - quiet location away from busy towns, cottage had everything we needed.
- Holly (9/5): Comfortable cottage, great for short stays. - Small cottage but well equipped enough and quite comfortable. A couple of great wineries very close by and not that far from main town of Tanunda. Cottages are not that soundproof so can hear occasional trucks passing through Main road and when neighbours are talking loudly outside.
- Marion (9/5): Great spot for a quiet holiday. - The location was very good. It was an easy walk to restaurants and near lots of other towns. The cottage was very quiet and had everything you need. The caretaker of the property was very friendly and helpful. The sofa in the lounge was too soft which made it uncomfortable to sit in and hard to get out. Other than that there was nothing that we didn’t like.
- Tori (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (10/5): - Lovely appartment
- Frank (8/5): pleasant stay in a very central location for the Barossa - Well equipped, and has lovely hosts. needs at least a queen size bed in both bedrooms.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - The owners, caretakers, location, the grounds and the shower!
- Ash (9/5): Fantastic central location to the beautiful Barossa Valley. Nice and peaceful -
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melissa (7/5): Good -
- Duncan (10/5): Safe quiet comfortable and relaxing - We had a wonderful break in very comfortable accommodation hosted by lovely managers
- Abbey (8/5): Very good -
- Deborah (8/5): Very good - Cosy, good facilities, caretakers went above and beyond to help out, good location, I liked the added extras, Tim Tam's, noodles, oats, coffee, salt n pepper, cds, dvd and cd player, slow combustion burner, etc Driveway, very steep and hard to get down. Hanging Lights hang to low and can hit head on them. Need to be careful with fan as low
- Eve (9/5): Superb - Lyndoch is a lovely country town, central to wineries and good restaurants. The cottage was clean and comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was a bit antiquated but perfectly serviceable.
- Farmgate (7/5): Good - good location, clean and tidy, handy walk into town had to supply own wood for the fire, only wood and matches for 1 night out of a 3 night stay. furnishings a bit dated and some repair work ( torn floor panels) needed.
- Martin (8/5): Very good - Comfort Nothing
- Lin (4/5): appreciated not paying extra on the second bedroom, which I stipulated. The owner was very fair in that respect. - Hot water was great. Bedding was clean. The carpets had a strong smell of dogs.
Hard floors had what felt like sand or grit on them.
- mark (8/5): - Quiet location with everything we needed
- Geoffrey (8/5): An enjoyable place to stay. - The cottage was ideal. Comfortable, spacious enough with a generally well equipped kitchen. Good water pressure in the shower and efficient (though somewhat loud!) aircon.
Good location for exploring the Barossa Valley, walkig distance to shops, pub, etc. Lack of wifi was unfortunate.
- Sabine (9/5): Great budget option with comfort and convenience. - It's a lovely and comfortable cottage in Lydoch, a perfect location for exploring the Barossa Valley and close to the town center for shopping and restaurants. Kitchen had all the basics and there is a lovely fire for autumn and winter visits. The staff on site very helpful and nice. No WIFI connection.
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Graham (10/5): - Geranium cottage was a well equipped, comfortable two bedroom cottage. It was a great base for exploring the Barossa.
