Guest Reviews
- Brent (10/5): - Loved the peace, quietness, the serenity and the privacy. The cottage was beautiful and superbly maintained. Fantastic value for money! Should I be returning to Halls Gap for another stay, I will definitely be booking with Heatherlie Cottages again.
- George (10/5): - Spacious living room area and walking distance to the shops.
- Felicitas (10/5): Close to nature - It was great, more outside of the town but grest location. This way kangaroos pass you while you have breakfast in front if the house.
- Bronwyn (8/5): - This property was very clean and tidy, it is a lovely little cottage.
- Paul (10/5): - Our second stay at Heatherlie, we love the close proximity to town, yet you would not know it was peak tourist season. The bush land setting and native fauna make the stay secluded and quiet. The cottage was clean and well appointed. Perfect home away from home accomodation.
- Annie (10/5): - It was just a beautiful quiet location.
- Jeyani (8/5): Spacious and private - Spacious room with everything we needed. Close to everything, but far enough away to feel private.
Great for a getaway.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location..... comfy bed, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Would stay there again :-)
- Liz (10/5): - Most comfortable bed ever !!
After a relaxing spa bath, we had the best nights sleep for a long time.
Very quiet and peaceful.
A lot of wildlife right outside the cabin: kangaroos, blue wrens, kookaburras etc
We loved this place, would definitely come back.
The only thing we couldn't work out was the washer / dryer, but this was explained to us over the phone by the owner/manager
- Britt (10/5): - The cottage is in a really nice, quiet location. It was very clean and I loved the keyless entry.
- Andrew (8/5): Quiet and quaint cottages - very quaint cottages. everything you need for a short stay.
- Paul (10/5): - Lovely tranquil and spacious location to get away for a few days. Immaculately cleaned. Also book direct with the owners via their website or phone as it is a family business.
- Jason (8/5): Long weekend - Nice clean cottages, private location, 2 min drive from the heart of hallsgap but far enough to avoid all the noise
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Easy access
Comfortable unit
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A fantastic location and cottage was amazing, cant wait to come back!
- Toni (6/5): Basic but comfortable - The cottages are in a good position close to some bushland, however cottage 1 does not have any outlook to this, in between road and car park. The unit is basic with limited floor coverings so a bit cold. Other units have better aspect with some feeling of being in a lovely setting. Kitchen very good with basic amenities and supplies. About 1 km walk to town. Halls Gap and the Grampians are wonderful
- Shayne (10/5): - Very quiet spot, lovely and relaxing little cottage with all the necessities, excellent communication with owner definitely go back
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Cottages nice dtssappointed no netlflix or broadband as advt
- Andy and Toni (8/5): Weekend away - We stayed at the cottage for two nights ,looked very nice and cosy and is placed in a quiet area.Bed was comfortable and was a king,so,plenty of room,a spa and huge shower, plenty of hot water. There was a gas log fire and air conditioning for heating and also electric blankets.Place was clean and tidy, but cupboards and drawers could have used a wipe out,a little bit of attention would go a long way.Overall, would recommend a stay, beautiful area, kangaroos roaming around in garden.😃
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great location, everything in the cottage we need to make the stay enjoyable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Privacy, birdlife, king bed, clean bathroom.
Concerned re leaf litter in guttering as a fire this tho,
- Carissa (8/5): Very nice but garden needs a good prune. - The owner was friendly and helpful. The cleanliness was excellent. Lovely spa bath. The bush-land setting was beautiful and relaxing even though we were very close to the center of town. Abundant wildlife - a resident wallaby, a family of kangaroos and lots of birds including an owl. The garden needed a good prune - overgrown bushes and trees made inside of the cottage feel rather dark and closed in. Overall though, a very nice stay.
- Sharlene (10/5): - The cottage was cosy & quaint, lovely decor. Relaxing, decadent atmosphere. It had everything we needed.
- Neil (8/5): Grampians Cottage - Was pleasant but disappointed by gas open fireplace and cold tile floors. Heating entirely by AC system. Was clean, tidy and private.
- Elise (10/5): Relaxing winter break - Beautiful little cottage. Lovely and warm with a few little luxuries to aid relaxation. The spa and massaging rocker recliner were wonderful. The water pressure in the shower superb. Lovely birds coming to visit. Close to everything but quiet spot. Very satisfied. Perfect winter escape
- Verified traveler (8/5): - All the amenities we needed. Could be cold in winter!
Brilliant hws. Pity we left our complimentary icecreams behind!
- Dianne (8/5): Very peaceful and relaxing - Great location. Everything needed was provided. Would definitely go back again.
- Celia (8/5): Pleasant self contained unit, close to town - Excellent wildflower display down the road at Heatherlie Quarry. Peaceful spot.
- mono candela (4/5): Looks tired and not looked after. - Although located in a nice quiet part of halls gap, it is obvious upon arrival the place is not well maintained, the advertising sign is being held up by the rubbish bins, the lawn is overgrown, and the outdoor furniture is scattered around and dirty.
Upon entry to the cottage it is appears old, the curtains need full cleaning, it is dark even with the curtains up. the microwave was dirty and we needed to clean before use.
also the kitchen utensils need updating, cant recall ever drinking wine from dated champagne glasses.
The couch is pokey and small, and there are no other comfy chairs to sit on.
- Heather (10/5): Lovely location - Great stay - Grampians is one of the best places we’ve visited. Heatherlie Cottages brilliant for a couple, it’s a great place to unwind and relax while visiting this amazing part of the world.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely cottage in a peaceful environment. Cottage was clean with great amenities. All was as expected.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Weekend getaway - Place was amazing , friendly staff and information is straight foward , close to the Grampians ( about 10 minutes drive ) wish we could have stayed for a week :) hoping to come back soon
- Di (10/5): Lovely quiet spot - Clean, private with adequate kitchen facilities. Comfy king bed.
- Mick (6/5): Nice cottages - Stayed there recently and 6 yrs ago and very comfortable. Needs a little cleaning up outside and just a few neglected things for paying top price for the accommodation.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Underwhelming and overpriced - The cottage was clean and respectable on the inside. If you are planning to eat in make sure you take everything as there are simply hotel basics. Given it is a cottage suited to couples it would have been nice to have some general cooking supplies.
The outside was run down and not very appealing. The lawns had not been mowed and the gutters were overflowing with debris. Not great during bushfire season!
- Ian (8/5): Very nice location. Walking distance to Hall Gap. - A very nice experience overall. Having the bed in the main living area was a bit different but didn't cause a problem. Nice front porch to sit under and watch the kangaroos go by. Much much nicer than a motel room.
- Jono (10/5): Awesome - These cottages are a perfect place for a get away. Situated in a perfect place just out of town so you are away from alot of the tourists. Also the rooms are set really well. Didnt want to leave.
- cindy (10/5): lovely place to stay - Enjoyed our stay for our 20yh wedding anniversary, close enough to walk in to town to have a meal and look around. The only thing would be the ticking clock!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to town but just far enough wat - Nice little cottage, comfy bed, good kitchen and quite location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quiet and peacefull - Great location for our getaway with great facilities
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely and quiet - The cottage was very spacious and clean with everything you need at a great price!
- Michael (8/5): Good Place to Relax - This is the second time we have stayed there as we enjoy the convenient location, close to Halls Gap township and tourist sites. While there we had car trouble and the owner showed concern and offered a number of times to help.
- Julie (10/5): - Brilliant! Perfect place to stay if you want peace and quiet and just want to get away. Everything is there that is required.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice bush cottage - Lovely little cottage excellent room. Waking up to hear all the different birds and seeing kangaroo out the kitchen window was a very nice change from city life.
- Mustang (8/5): Very Quiet - Heatherlie Cottages are in a very quiet shady location where it is good to get away from everything. They were close enough to wander down to the shops for a coffee
- Greg (6/5): Pay by the minute! - Great location, however, it is a bit disconcerting to see the sign behind the door as you enter, warning you not to outstay your welcome! One dollar per minute if you do not depart by 10.00 am on the day of departure. Is this a joke? We didn't hang around to find out. Did wonder where the sensor was to record our departure at the exact minute! The facilities are ok. The log fire is not a log fire but a gas simulation. The air conditioning worked well. The bed is comfy. Tiled flooring is a bit chilly on the feet in mid winter. Location is superb, a very beautiful part of the country, with scenic walks at your doorstep, as is the wild life.
