Guest Reviews
- Sarah (6/5): Okay. - Comfortable and cozy bed. Microwave, kettle and coffee maker was convenient. The fridge has a separate freezer component and some setting must be off because the entire fridge turned into a freezer and froze all my fruit so it turned to mush when I left. The bathroom and shower were nice and clean, and no weird odour in the room. The room had a smart tv which I was looking forward to using to stream as it had that option, however, it would not connect to the internet so had to use satellite tv, the internet was fairly slow in general. Overall happy with my stay just some annoying issues.
- Lise (10/5): Perfect for a short stay convenient to downtown - Great hotel near downtown, convenient to walk to most places. 24-hr check-in service is why I booked here because another local hotel would not check me in after midnight, even though my flight arrived after. No-frills, but everything was clean and there is a decent refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. If you need creamer for your coffee, get it at a local store, but otherwise you're good. Staff was very friendly and I enjoyed the convenience & cleanliness!
- Paula (8/5): Good option - The staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful. Hotel is convenient to downtown.
- Brandie (10/5): - Felt safe
- William (10/5): - Great hotel. Cant wait to go back. Amazing Front Desk Staff
- Tara (8/5): - Great location and very clean.
- Genevieve (6/5): - The building is a bit outdated (bathroom and bedroom furniture, flooring, decor, etc). The soaps are bar soaps (doesn't lather that well) and they provide shampoo... no conditioner. My other parties that travelled with me said they had complimentary granola bars but I didn't get that. They also provide you with 2 water bottles.
I've stayed here twice now and both times, the receptionists are very friendly with great customer service. As old as the facility might be, it is rather clean.
- David (4/5): - Satalite reception terrible
Dark room light dosent work
Coffee machine overheated
- Rowena (6/5): - Spacious room, but a/c is noisy .
- William (8/5): - Nice hotel in Whitehorse, many restaurants nearby for easy walking. Only issue was tv didn't work properly, so couldn't watch, but didn't need to
- Brad (10/5): - Property was well secured
Price was reasonable
- Ebonie Rae (10/5): - Easy to work with front desk for booking.
- Amber (10/5): - It might have possibly been the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. A little shy on outlets by the nightstand.
- henry (10/5): - Well Kept.
- Christian (10/5): - I have been staying here before. The hotel has been "refreshed" and the rooms are really nice and clean. The location downtown is great also
- Dave (10/5): - Everything was good as expected. The bed was confortable
- Andrew (10/5): Great hotel - Amazing hotel
Internet sucks you have add the code every 20 minutes
- Mark (4/5): Never again - My first room the TV didn’t work and couldn’t adjust the temperature in the room and it was set to 28C. The second room had the same temperature problem and smelt moldy.
- Sebastian (6/5): - N/A
- HYUKJOO (10/5): - It is a good place!
- Saroj (10/5): - I am satisfied that’s all..
- Jonathon (6/5): - Nice spacious rooms
- Tracy (8/5): - Very convenient, good access to everything.
- Natalie (10/5): - It was the only hotel available
- Melissa (6/5): - It was ok for last minute stay and hot shower after camping for 3 nights. Rooms are big but a bit run down but looks like they are working on it. Maybe new owners. Expensive for the amenities and the area.
- Clinton (6/5): - It was by a really nice restaurant
- Yifei (8/5): - It’s just a OK.
- Vanessa (10/5): - Staff very friendly, kitchenette facilities, large room
- Terence (2/5): - Dirty and outdated. Stains on the box spring cover. Blanket on bed, turned over to hide stains. No closet in room. Dirty bathroom and not clean. Gross.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was charged more than my agreed upon internet price and was charged extra for a 4th person in a room that had two queen beds. Unclear to me why a hotel thinks that 2 people can sleep in one bed but not the other bed.
- phil (4/5): - The room had a smoky/musty smell to it. I mentioned it to the front staff and they said "they would look into it"
Beds were worn, blankets and sheets were thin, hair on comforter, no foam underlay under carpets.
It's located near a liquor store.
It's not a great place.
- Darren (8/5): - Staff are excellent to deal with. Very helpful
- jason (6/5): - Staff were friendly. Place was clean but dated. Really basic but you get what you play for. Good water pressure in the shower though!!
- Javier (8/5): Javier, Guatemala - No A/C. Nice bed. Good petsonal at reception.
- Paul (4/5): - The staff was ok. Rooms had no soundproofing . I had to listen to a couple fighting somewhere near me at 1200 midnight. Then there were people knocking on a door in the hall at 500am. Then i had to listen to someone snore......needless to sy I didnt get much sleep
- Allan (8/5): - Satisfactory rest stop in preparation for 3 week camping adventure up Dempster Highway.
- Danielle (10/5): - The room was very large and very clean. The staff was very kind and the area was beautiful. I would definitely rent again.
- Pei (10/5): - On site restaurant that is open for lunch and dinner was very convenient. The room was spacious and everything was there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Adequate for a one night stay - Suitable for a night or two. Front desk could be friendlier and more trained.
- Joel (8/5): - Centrally located in business district, with great rates.
- Kyle (4/5): - Woke up with hundreds of bed bug bites all over my body. Everything else was ok.
- Rei (10/5): - It was a very good stay, every staff is friendly and kind. Only one thing that would be nice to fix is the smell in the room, especially around the door. It smelled like a shoe lack. Other than that, everything was perfect. Would love to stay again.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - We came after hours and were nicely greeted to check in.
- Phil (8/5): - Location is good
- Djoyce (10/5): - It was great
Lovely staff and very professional
Very secure
It was great
- Bruno (8/5): - It is a great place to stay if you have a short stay in the city. Fair price, central location, clean, and front desk staff is very friendly and helpful.
Even on a longer stay I would very likely stay at this Hotel again, definitely recommend!
- Courtney (10/5): - The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The rooms were huge and had a heater or portable air conditioner. Convenient to restaurants. Walkable
- Keith (10/5): - Price was right
- Candice (10/5): - Great customer service
- Jenny (4/5): - Although the hotel indicates non-smoke room, the room I got with strong smoke smell. I had to open the window even during my sleep.
- Pierre (8/5): - Rooms are Clean but News updates other than that it was good.
- Dorothy (8/5): - Great location and easy to find
- Leah (10/5): Comfortable and convenient! - Comfortable bed, friendly staff, close to everything!
- Wesley (2/5): - The staff called us after we lft and said they are charging my credit card a extra 250.00 for a cigarette butt but they found in room !! I dont smoke and i make my son go outside and smoke he doesn't throw his butts on the ground instead he puts it out and installs in back pocket till he can properly dispose of they didnt care wouldnt listen very mean lady
- Jared (6/5): - The pictures of the rooms on Expedia didn’t not represent the hotel or the rooms well. Our room had not been renovated in decades. For the price you pay at this hotel; go stay at somewhere cheaper for the same quality of room.
- Alain (8/5): - Location
- joanne (8/5): Clean and comfortable - Clean, comfortable, friendly staff. A great improvement over another, more expensive Whitehorse hotel we stayed in.
- Kerry (8/5): - Staff are all very friendly and helpful.
- Kevin (10/5): - The reviews don’t do it justice, rooms are more upgraded than other properties to stay at in Whitehorse. The staff was amazing at both check in and check out, room was amazing for the price.
- Tomotoshi (8/5): - Nice
- guy (10/5): - Convenient location, friendly staff, fair price and all commodities.
Thank you.
- Ian (4/5): - This was a disappointment the Lobby and the room needs an upgrade . Air Conditioning not working bath tub had no plug had to use face cloth.
I paid $350 for a room that should have been $150 .
Not going to stay here again.
- Kameron (4/5): Stay Elsewhere - This hotel is sub-standard, the only redeeming feature is the restaurant on the ground floor, the food there is excellent. The room had an overwhelming scent of deodorizer probably to cover-up the smell of cigarette smoke. The room was clean but the hotel is in desperate need of a renovation, way overpriced, given the state of the room. I would not stay here again unless it was an absolute last resort.
- Jessica (10/5): - Great stay. Staff were super friendly and great to chat with. Attached restaurant was great. We even had little chocolates in our room, always a plus! Would recommend and stay again!
- marino (2/5): - This place is an overpriced dump. The only good thing was the young attendant from India that was a pleasure
- Hardy (6/5): Ok, but pricey - Friendly enough staff. Listing claimed AC, none in room. Slightly worn down room. Hallways smelled of pot (room was ok). Over charged based on 'final' hotels.com price.
For amount paid, was quite underwhelmed
- Suzanne (4/5): - Poor service, TV didn't work. The location was good for my purpose.
- MARCO (2/5): - Very dirty internet don’t works tv don’t work
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Large room but no breakfast 😢
- Jason (6/5): It’s ok as long as you’re not picky. - The Good: the price was reasonable and it’s a fairly quiet building. The Bad: there are a lot of small nickel and dime charges like $40 to clean your room, and extra $ for wifi over a certain amount. There is a severe labour shortage which means that some of the employees aren’t all that helpful. Additionally there seem to be residents from the local homeless shelter being put up there, and the elevator always smells like Marijuana. Overall it was ok. I had to do my own room cleaning and take out my own trash and recycling, which wasn’t the end of the world, but if you’re looking for the lap of luxury or lots of amenities, this isn’t the place.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Booger on wall by bed, no fan in room , no bathroom fan either, no ice bucket, no do not disturb sign, chill late or something brown on box spring, blood stain on pillow, I didn’t sleep there my second night I left.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Na
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location. Quiet.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dirty and disgusting
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Awful hotel service
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff, convenient location and parking, reasonably clean, good value for the price
- Bo (2/5): - The room has a terrible smell like smoke. It has no hot water overnight. It’s terrible.
- Troy (4/5): - Hotel was falling apart! Rooms did not get cleaned unless you asked for them to be.
- Tanya (10/5): - Great location, the staff was super nice and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay.
Thank you!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient location close to everything, very helpful staff.
- John (4/5): Don’t bother - There was a love stain on the comforter, there was no AC that was usable, the window couldn’t be opened, and the TV didn’t work.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - well located in the city. Great restaurant right next door.
next to a sometimes noisy bar.
- C. (4/5): - The property is right down town so nicely located. We came in the evening. We felt as if we were bothering the young lady to check in. Then when we didn't have internet, she was not motivated to check into it. Just agreed with us that there was no internet, and yet I could see she had connection.. When I said I need internet to work and would have to leave, she then got someone to fix it. The daytime staff are great.
BUT, I got covered in bed bugs and itched for 2 weeks following. So badly bitten, I had to go to the hospital in Dawson City for cream as the over the counter stuff didn't work. I came home with bites still healing. The manager did take one day off our bill (of the 3 days we stayed). We did get a different room and no more bites in the second room. The lobby and stairs were really dirty, but the room seemed clean enough (other than the bed bugs)
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Friendly staff and willing to help. Can’t overcome lack of maintenance and upkeep like carpet bedding with cigarette burns in no smoking room. Hard to say it this way because the staff is pleasant and tries their best. Location is good to downtown.
- Heidi (6/5): Dirty room but great restaurant - Room not cleaned and smelled of cigarettes. Was given new room on 3rd floor that was far cleaner overall but hotel needs update. Not “elite.” But restaurant Georgios on premises is great—try the Arctic char.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - wifi, you only get 1 password pin per room, this pin can only be used by 1 member. I was told that for an additional pins i would have to pay $5 per each additional pin. The room smelled like cigarettes.
- Lead (2/5): - Nothing, it's a dump. I called to see if I could check in early and was told that the room wasn't ready. When I checked in and got to my room, it was not cleaned. Hair in the bathroom, beds not made, pills on carpet from the previous person. Yes, 100% true, a DUMP.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a very convenient location, easy to access restaurants and entertainment. Could use some updating.
- Susan (8/5): Comfortable rooms - It was a big hotel room. Two restaurants on the property. AC and 2 fans in the room. The lobby is not good as it looks dingy and needs better decor as it is not welcoming. The rooms were not fancy and the bedspreads need replaced as they look dingy and had tears in them. Free street and lot parking. We stayed here twice as it was a good price, it was convenient, and comfortable beds.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was very basic and unattractive but clean and the price is cheaper than other hotels in the downtown. I was only there to sleep and get up for a 6 am flight, so why pay more.
- Susan (8/5): Good stay - The hotel is easy to get to, has free parking, fridge, AC, fans, and the rooms are huge. It has 2 restaurants attached to it and the Chinese 202 is excellent. The only weakness are: the lobby needs cleaned and better decor and they need to replace the top bedspreads as they don't look hygiene and had tears in them. But, we stayed here twice and enjoyed our stay. Would stay again!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Close to airport. Close to downtown. Old photos on walls was nice. Portable a/c was poor. Pom was hot
- Bill (2/5): - Not what we seen on the website when we booked
1 of our rooms wasn’t cleaned at checkin moved to another room, it was musty and smoky .. they cleaned the first room so we moved back and turned on the AC ... it was very loud so moved back the the smelly room .. very disappointing we would not recommend
It is a 60 dollar hotel at best!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good value for money, clean property, comfortable bed, spacious room (AC was a unit on the floor and quite noisy that would be the only "complaint")
- Larry (6/5): - hotel sure needs an upgrade. floors are very noisy.not a very nice stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - On arrival and despite confirmation from Expedia we were informed our booking was cancelled and there were no rooms .expedia and the hotel need to get their act together as not sure which one is at fault.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Noisey
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room was dirty-spelled coffeee on counter, never got any soap or shampoo, not enough towels and air conditioner didn’t work in room
- Verified traveler (2/5): - how does this dump have a 3star rating. maybe Expedia should verify those ranking before providing them to members who make decisions and spend their money based on them.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The place is not clean. 5 days and we didn’t see a single housekeeper in our room. The condition of the room was poor. Daily issues for maintenance calls. Housekeepers not willing to even change sheets. Front desk is amazing when you call but that’s the only good thing about this hotel. Will not stay here again.
