• Nuno M. Lopes (1/5): Never again. - Location Dinner Staff ( rude and useless) No communication at all between different departments. They don't care about Customer Service at all. Value for money. They sent out luggage to airport instead to our rooms. We schedule a boat trip well in advance and they forgot us literally at the beach. No justification, no apologise no care at all with customers. No interaction using the messenger tool withing Booking. Com.

• Olov Martin (9/5): Loved the trip to this magical place and definatly stayed at the right hotel. - Amazing location, beautiful bungalows, and well-meaning staff. Fantastic daily optional activities were included and the food options were good, albeit simple - but the breakfast is great! Good little gym with the basics covered. It can be an issue to not speak Portuguese and you need to keep an open mind in terms of what’s available on the menu or what is delivered when - but as a base, the manager and staff really cares and tries - even though it doesn’t always seem so at first glance. Dinner can be a little too quiet but that will be (and was) easily fixed with more outside tables, candles, some music. Overall maintenance (fresh supply of outdoor large towels) and maybe more people and food options at the pool bar making it a more exciting hang-out with amazing drinks on offer - would be great. Transportation connection to the villages and other properties could intensify.

• sofia (8/5): Fantastic location, hotel is very good but not excellent. - Location is astonishingly beautiful. Best in the world. Bungalows have incredible views (unless you stay in the pool-facing ones: I would avoid those). You have a free (included) tour per day. The tours are worth doing, staff is nice and take us to beautiful places. The boat tour to Baia das Agulhas is a must. The beach is fantastic. Restaurant isn’t bad but isn’t best in class either. Staff isn’t as nice as in other hotels in the main island in São Tomé. Namely the restaurant staff, who could benefit from extra training in hospitality. Rooms are good but not excellent.

Restaurant in general pretty bad with very poor choice of food and drinks.rooms look poor for a 700 euro room..not comfortable and not decorated at all ( 3 star standard). Restaurant also what you will find in bad 3 star , just chairs and table with complete lack of ambiance and taste.

• Katharina (9/5): Unforgettable location, best in Príncipe, wanting to come back one day.. - Location is the best in Príncipe. 2 beautiful beaches, incredible views, clean and quiet . BBQ on Saturday was amazing. Very nice manager, couldn’t fault his efforts. Sitting here back in cold and rainy Wales but my mind is back at BomBom. All in all excellent, highly recommended Some parts are unfinished, for example the fence in front of our bungalow was left half done . This is just a minor observation. Food could have been better at times but it’s hit and miss in all HBD hotels.

• Nicoletta (9/5): Superb - Breathtaking location. The small resort is hidden in the lush forest and architectonically totally in harmony with the surroundings. This peace of earth is a haven for the soul. The newly refurbished cabanas are clean and the services are by western standards not bad. It’s a good luxury resort but it’s the small details that make the difference and this resort is not there yet but it has immense potential. Breakfast is a scrumptious spread and dinners are cooked with local ingredients. Also Pedro the bartender makes the best cocktails on the island. Little things like the non functioning soap dispenser or two hand soap bottles and no shampoo in the room. Everything relatively fixable when talking to the reception several times. This would be the only general feeling that the price charged per night doesn’t meet the standard of expected services yet. But as i said i believe there is a potential.

• Michael (10/5): An amazing place - I absolutely loved this place. The location is incredible. The staff are lovely (some don’t speak English, but they were all very helpful). The villa was very comfortable. The gardens and grounds are immaculate. The activities and the local guides were excellent. The way the company operates seems to be genuinely positive for the local people. I wish I had stayed longer.
• Emily (8/5): Great location and rooms. Totally overpriced for level of service. - Beautiful location. Lots of birds around and a lovely kingfisher that hangs out on the beach and visits the pool in the mornings for its bath! Rooms are lovely- big bed, lovely verandah with comfy chairs. Rooms were nice and cool and great A/C if you need it. Good selection at breakfast. Got checked in early which was great. Beaches are clean and safe. The views are stunning and the snorkeling is great! The service and consistency for food and drinks is quite shocking. Service in restaurant on both nights was terrible. Food on the first night was good- although glad I got the passion fruit and vanilla sauce on the side of the fish because it was inedible! On the second night it took 1 hour to get anything! I mean no wine, water, bread for a whole hour. All the food came out wrong to all the tables. Fish tartare, which was lovely the first night was inedible- mushy and not fresh. Ice-cream tasted of garlic. In fairness to the hotel, they took the food off the bill, but I would have preferred a nice relaxing meal and pay for it! I would consider bringing some instant ramen if staying again. Service in pool bar on second day also terrible! Ordered a cocktail the first day- lovely. Same one on the second day and it was totally different. My husband waited about 15 mins for a cocktail and eventually had to cancel because the staff did not know how to make it. Pool towels are horrible- small and dirty colour. Also took hours for them to come in the mornings.
• Barbara (7/5): Super nice but way too expensive - -Location was stunning, bungalows newly remodeled and very nice -Food was quite good and interesting -Celebrated my birthday there; staff did everything they could to make it nice and it was very good -New years eve was absolutely fabulous and service was very good; wonderful and successful evening/night -Room: 900euro/night, no Kleenex, no Vanity Set, no Body Lotion, no Conditioner, not enough racks to hang towels, pillows on the lounge chairs on the porch were wet when we got there and not usable -Restaurant: breakfast buffet not restocked 30 minutes before breakfast ended (when asked we were told finished) / most of the staff friendly but helpless as if working in a restaurant for the first time; it did not seem anybody was trained properly and everything took ages when ordered -no sunbeds at all at the beach -no gym even though it said on the website that there was one -kayaking and stand up paddling was offered but no life vests available -no food available all day except for lunch time -when having a drink nothing available to nibble on -Transport to other hotel at agreed time late by one hour due to no driver available -Overall totally chaotic service even though they tried hard. Massive lack of communication in general. Many staff’s English was insufficient for a hotel of this price. -Portions were too small for most people. -For 650 or 900 euros per day (sea view or beach bungalow) price was not justified; the price should have been half max. -When we complained, excuses were made and it was always somebody else’s fault
• Thomas (8/5): Located in wonderful nature and beaches, friendly staff, but unreasonable activity price politics - The hotel is situated in a wonderful spot. Wonderful beaches, outstanding nature. Like paradise. The hotel staff is exceptional friendly, attentive and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much. Given the remote position of the hotel, the only way to see something from the island is to book activities offered by the hotel. Basically, as a guest you are kind dependent on that. There are not any other options available. We planned to do a 4 hours boat trip. When we were told that this would be 300€, we cancelled that idea. This left us with a bit of a feeling being ripped off. Later on, we heard that the other two hotels on that island Roca and Sunday operated by the same company do include free activities. Given that, Roca is half the price, this really left us wondering. I would strongly urge management to re-consider their pricing policy.
• Paulo (10/5): Most beautiful resort on the most beautiful beach on a very beautiful island - Very comfortable, independent accommodation facing the most beautiful beach in the world! Excellent breakfast and other meals! the staff were really charming and helpful. We were offered a visit to the island with excellent guides, visiting another very beautiful, and an magnificent hotel belonging to the same group. It felt like paradise... The accommodation and the meals were expensive. We don't regret it, but we wished we could afford staying longer.
• Laura (10/5): Best Place Ever! - BomBom is simply magical. The natural beauty is unrivaled only by the friendliness and kindness of the staff. Coming from the US without any Portuguese speaking skills was scary but the people here made it comfortable immediately. Would give BomBom 100 out of 100 stars!
