The facilty can use some updating other than that it was a great stay. On off season there is no breakfast. We booked through Expedia but next time we will book directly from Cabana.

- Christine (2/5): - Got to the room and was met by a puddle of water from the fridge. Went to call the front desk, but there’s no phone in the room tried calling from my cell phone. No one answered, went out into the hallway grab some towels off of housekeeping rack to clean up the floor. The floor was Filthy. The towel were thread bare. Also only one bath towel per one person for two days. Expedia says there is there is a cook to order breakfast available, a restaurant, and that you are beachfront. This hotel is across a highway from the ocean, there is no restaurant and no breakfast available. They even have a sign in the hotel pointing to the breakfast room. They don’t even have coffee in the lobby. A hotel employee claimed there was a restaurant a year ago . The only good thing about the hotel was the young woman from Jamaica that was at the front desk during the evening, she was the only employee that was nice.

We also liked that it was away from the main boardwalk area. I noticed the pool could use a clean, but we were there for the beach so it didn’t matter. Also the breakfast area was closed, but we found a couple great brunch spots. (And FYI they have a bar downstairs, but they don’t serve on Sunday;))

My hubby and I came for a day trip to celebrate his birthday, we would definitely stay again. The only dislike was the night light on the balcony was very bright so ot took away from the beautiful moonlight that shines through your window at night. We asked if it could be turned off and the answer was no but it was suggested to cover it up with a rag if he wanted to, and that did the trick..

- Shauna (6/5): - Nice lobby area. Easy parking. AC worked really well. Beach access was a huge perk. Very quiet and beautiful residential area. Beach wasn’t crowded at all in this particular area of North Myrtle. Comfortable bed. The pictures are way nicer than what it actually is in person. The room could be better: Stained sheets, big chunks of paint on wall and near baseboards cracked and chipping off, small specks of mold all over one wall, pipe leaking under sink, not cleaned very thoroughly (just out of reach spaces ignored). Wouldn’t stay here again, but overall average and a really nice area! Location is superior to Myrtle, which just a few miles south. Still close to boardwalk.

Although the inside of the rooms need some help (seen water damaged throughout the entire room) at least there wasn’t a moldy scent or it being an active leak. We were happy about the view and balcony. I would definitely stay here again, minus the renovations!

The couch was in terrible condition. The front clerk entered day of departure wrong so we were locked out and housekeeping didn’t have towels for us. - Joyce (4/5): - The hotel advertises itself as a “top notch” resort when in reality it’s no more than the average Days Inn stay but with a hitch…no breakfast, no late check out on Sundays, pillows are half the size of a normal pillow, no staff at the front desk after a certain time, old beat up furniture, no air conditioning in the elevator, etc.. in other words, you pay $300+/nightly in July for the beach access that’s just across the road. I usually stay at the Wyndham on ocean blvd in N. Myrtle beach and this place could never hold a candle to that property. It’s a tourist trap and I’ll never stay again nor will I refer to others. Shame on you Cabana Shores!!!

And it would be nice if you could get the room cleaned during the stay, rather than having to hand towels and garbage through the door. But the location and price make up for any shortcomings.

Only thing I disliked is the food ads that were left stuck in my door each morning. Overall I would stay there again. For the money, well worth the rate charged.

The only thing negative that comes to mind is as with all beach front properties maintenance tends to be lagging (stained chairs, broken baseboard, chipped table, hard time closing the door, and slow elevator)

- Verified traveler (10/5): Great little affordable find - Beds very comfy, room had some cosmetic issues with prior water leak - assume from a.c. on floor above. Not a deal breaker. Elevator on the other hand, only one, very old, slow, small and hot. Definitely needs an upgrade, but overall would stay again.
- Bridget (4/5): - I would not recommend. I mean, i guess you get what you pay for. 5 days/4 nights, room wasn't cleaned a single time. I had to ask for replacrment bath towels and toilet paper. Couldn't utilize the balcony at all as there was water dripping continuously from the unit above. Safe in the room didn't work. Asked for a late checkout, worker at the counter immediately said no without even looking in the computer. I believe the person at the desk also doubled as the bartender because there was never anyone there working. Never saw anyone eating at the restaurant either.
- Elise (6/5): - We have stayed here before and it was 10/10. This time, our room had a few opportunities for improvement….the shower floor was crack and had an actual hole in it. The ceiling in the actual room looks as though it had previously had a leak, the patch job was an eyesore and wasn’t done very well. Someone just slapped some plaster up there and called it a day. The door didnt lock and we had to bother the associate downstairs to come and show us how to fix it. I wouldn’t pay $300 to stay there again- if every room was as nice as the first time we stayed here, maybe.

We were given an Ocean Front room but, the hotel is facing front, (ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE BEACH!) Also, all of the Ocean Front rooms are directly over the pool.

My husband and I were looking for a quiet ocean front hotel to spend a few days together before our big family beach trip and we found exactly what we wanted. Our room was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. We loved the short easy walk to the beach and the pool area was very comfortable. If you are looking for a quiet stay on the beach,tjis is ypur place!

There's no indoor hot tubs or pool. There's no real entertainment for young adults. The room was nice. The only problem we had was the shower door wouldn't stay closed . And it's only a stand up shower . The staff is extremely nice and helpful and we did feel safe.
- Amy (6/5): - I stayed in an oceanfront room with 2 queen beds. Spacious and very clean. Open the sliding glass door to the balcony and there’s the pool, the street, then the ocean. This is an older, classic-style beach hotel. They’ve clearly worked hard to remodel and update it. No carpeting - the floors are wood-look vinyl plank and the bathroom is updated with new fixtures. The pillows and beds are clean & comfortable. The fridge is larger than most hotel refrigerators and there’s a microwave which I never used. The room safe is tucked away near the microwave. Some amenities need updating. The towels and washcloths are threadbare. The lock on my balcony door was broken. The door handle is worn with use. There’s a bright security light on the balcony that comes on at night; you’ll need to close the blackout curtains to try to block it. When I closed the curtains I found a piece of dirty, plastic molding propped in the corner. The AC worked well; a newer wall-mounted thermostat was dead as a doornail. There is plenty of parking on site. When you check in, there are extra charges for the key, security deposits, etc. I was told that these extra fees will be returned 3-7 days after I check out. Your room won’t be cleaned if your stay is short unless you request it, for an extra fee. Cabana Shores is clean and comfortable. I just needed a shower and a place to sleep. I feel like this could go from a C+ to a B+ hotel easily with some attention to small but important details.

Bar in lobby is convenient. If you want a $800 a night mega resort this is not for you but it’s perfect for just a nice place to stay at the beach.

The hotel sits in a very nice and safe neighborhood and there is a beach walk directly across the street that runs parallel to the beach which was very nice. It is a short drive to a main highway for restaurants. I believe this hotel offers good value for the $.

The hallways do need a little more attention as they could have been cleaner, but I do understand. My room was great. The bed was fabulous and I slept very well. I would stay there again.
- Katie (4/5): Just go somewhere else - The outside is very run down and while this is listed as a hotel it is more of a motel. The elevator is the creakiest thing I’ve ever heard so I opted for the stairs after the first ride. The inside of the room appeared nice but I had some issues with the cleanliness. I didn’t get settle into my room until almost midnight and upon going to bed I found curly black hairs on my pillow and sheets. I switched to the other bed in my room and there were crumbs in the sheets. I found the same curly black hairs on the bathroom counter. My issue with this “hotel” is that the quality and the cost do not match. I did come on a holiday weekend so the price was inflated but just spend your money elsewhere. You can get better quality for the same price.

- Jane (6/5): - Off season so dining at the hotel was not available. Room could be cleaner. Coffee machine in room did not work. Woman at registration desk was cold, uninviting. Elevator was not cleaned and had an unpleasant odor in it.

- Reynaldo (8/5): - Overall the property was nice. I really didn't require much customer service because we were only there for 1 night but the check in process was nice and quick. The most important to me was ... I didn't see any bugs so on that note only , thank you. Location was right across the street from the ocean, which was beautiful.
- lydia (6/5): - Nothing extraordinary. You can tell they've done some renovations. It was clean and thats what mattered most. Beach is right across the street. Nice area. Good place for the money.

- Jennifer (8/5): Great location, poor service - Great location. Beach is short walk across the street. The room is adequate for a short stay. Upon arrival, the soap in the shower had not been filled, there was food left in the microwave from the previous traveler and there were limited towels. This could be a wonderful place to stay if the hotel worked on their service and paid closer attention to details.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Could be better - No one at the front desk when we arrive.One person working there sitting on chair do not acknowledge us untill we ask if this was where we check in.He told us the lady will be back in a few minutes.In the room toliet was hard to flush.Open the draw to put our clothes away and the handle came off.Barhroom counters looked like it needed to be wipied down. Used roll of toilet paper was left on the rack.The four small pillows made it difficult to sleep.
- Jill (8/5): - Everything was good except the lack of coffee at the coffee bar. When I let the person working in front that there was no coffee (at 8:20am), she told me coffee would be available at 9am. Say what?!?!

- Richard (10/5): Keep coming back to the Cabana. - Nice get-away for a winter stay. Walked the beach. It is not perfect but we are staying out various properties on the weekend and keep coming back to the Cabana.
