• tsales3214 (8/5): Great location, lovely hotel - Lovely hotel ideally situated about a ten minute walk to the centre of Chester. Breakfast fabulous all you want for a full english buffet style. Waiters very attentive bringing coffee or tea as soon as you are seated. Dinner in the restaurant a lovely experience a la carte type style but you need to book. The spa / swimming area also lovely however gets very busy and people seemed to 'hog' the only jacuzzi. I think the hotel should consider making this adults only from say 3pm as other hotels do as from 4pm until 7pm there were lots of young children in there which ruined the spa experience for me. We booked a classic double which was OK but very small and could hardly turn around in the bathroom. Overall would return for location and good food however would probably opt for a bigger room next time.
• 169stevei (10/5): It was a pleasant stay - Hotel is nice but the rooms could do with an update,staff are friendly,beds are a bit hard the tv is right in the corner of the room would be better on the wall.no big light and the long mirror is in the wrong place no light unless you put bathroom light on.bathroom no towel rail.

Location is great for everything to make a perfect stay with pubs, restaurants and chester centre all 5 mins walk away. Cleanliness was top draw and amenities was first class. Great selection on breakfast to excellent bar prices. For value for money it's def the best hotel ive stayed in. Well done millhouse you got it spot on.

• 984davea (10/5): Very nice stay at the Mill. - lovely stay at the mill. myself my wife and grandson for his birthday. Had a meal in the bar and the food was very good. The staff were brilliant and with our cake and candles and sung happy birthday. The man with the longish hair even made our grandson a mocktail that was not on the menu. The room was nice and very clean. easy to park which is a must in Chester.
• JandA2014 (6/5): Great location just needs a bit spending on decor and breakfast - Perfect location near centre of town. Be prepared for lots of walking. Great parking on site for £12. It's a bit gloomy. Rooms very dark . Needs updating .For the money we thought it expensive. It was clean and we asked for canal view for quieter room after seeing reviews. The staff were lovely and so friendly, in fact the best thing about the place . The breakfast basic with very little choice but what we had was well cooked.
• azariaLancashire (8/5): Fantastic gym - The lady on the desk was extremely welcoming and allowed us into our room significantly earlier than the official check-in time, which we were very pleased about. We stayed in the Canal Side Suite, which was spacious and exactly as described in other respects. As other reviewers have mentioned, the décor and furnishings are quite dated, which we expected. The bathroom was also a little dated but very large and lovely overall (aside from some discoloured tile grout) and featured a large kidney-shaped whirlpool bath. Of note, it only had 2 hooks on the door on which to hang things. Could have benefited from a towel rail. The bed was a super king size and extremely comfortable — I often find hotel beds far too hard, but this one was great. One of the main reasons I would return is the gym. It is the most well-equipped hotel gym I have ever seen. More in line with a professional gym although only opened from 08.00. The pool is also very nice — quite long, which is great for swimming. The temperature was about standard. The steam room was also very nice. Unfortunately the sauna was broken during our visit. We didn’t use the jacuzzi as it was full of other people and, since our suite included a jacuzzi bath, we decided to go back to the room instead and enjoy a long, relaxing soak. Breakfast was very nice, with lovely quality food. It is buffet style and consisted mostly of full English breakfast items, along with cereal, toast and croissants, plus tea, coffee and juice. The selection isn’t huge, but everything was nicely cooked. My only criticism is that the toast is left under the heat lamps and so is not fresh and hot. Personally I like to do my own toast so that it is toasted exactly how I like it. Staff were again attentive and very friendly. Parking costs £12 per day. We arrived early and managed to get a space, but I believe once the car park is full there are no guarantees. We would certainly return. The slightly dated furnishings didn’t bother us at all — just wanted to leave an honest and balanced review.
• Julieandpaul123 (6/5): Not the posh spa hotel we were expecting. - Stayed for 2 nights. Location good, staff very helpful and friendly. Room was adequate but dated. Hotel needs to invest in proper room sound proofing, good job we took earplugs. The food was poor. Breakfast was basic for a hotel this size. Hard fried eggs, cheap sausages and overcooked bacon. Evening food was well below standard.....certainty wasn't worth the money being charged. They definitely need a new chef as the food really lets this hotel down.
• Skye17skye (2/5): Needs a revamp - Ideally for stag or hen doos, not far to walk in to centre but definitely a bit rough around the edges, room small and very dated and dark, shower over bath... Breakfast was edible, fried egg, scrambled egg 🥚 bacon, sausage, tomato 🍅, chopped fried potatoes, beans, croissants, fruit that looked like it was out of a tin, toast, cereal 🥣 Next time I would pay more and stay elsewhere
• 548gills (10/5): Great - We are here now, enjoying our last night of a three night stay. Our room is spacious, clean and bright. I personally had an issue with the pillows and I was left with a selection so I could choose which was best. Staff really helpful and friendly. Breakfast. good and lots of choice. The spa is fantastic. Clean , well ordered and showers hot and powerful. We ate in the restaurant and the service was good, the food was mostly really good. We had 3 courses each. Our ratings would be... Cream of vegetable soup. 6 Purple broccoli and Duck egg. 9 Lamb and Duchess potatoes. 8 Codloin with fondant chips. 9 Blood orange posset. 10 Cheese and biscuits. 5. We enjoyed the meal but my cod was served skin up but it wasn't crispy so a little off putting. The rest of my plate was delicious. My husband said the overriding taste of his soup was Celery . It needed more base layers. Cheese board a bit sad. Menu said a selection of cheeses when in fact they were very similar. No blue cheese and the Mexican style chilli cheese was overpowering. Asked for a better selection but nothing more exciting came out. I'm not sure what people expect from this hotel but it is way more than value for money and if you have an issue the staff try their best to address it.
• Cinnamon900 (4/5): Overhyped and disappointing - Firstly the staff should be acknowledged for their friendly welcome and helpfulness. They really couldn't do enough! The hotel itself lacks any character or style. Rooms are bare and sterile with no soft furnishings or even towel hooks in the bathroom. Do not be fooled that the 'spa' in the title will add luxury. Throughout the hotel there is no reference at all its history as mill. Location wise - great access to the city but some rooms of the rooms are alongside the 2 lane flyover so incredibly noisy. Others by the canal are quieter. The breakfast was basic but ok, plenty of seats with a small buffet area. Hot food was continually restocked. Again staff were helpful and it was lovely to sit by the canal. Overall not one of our better choices but we went based on the reviews and location.
• 998jennd (10/5): Couldn't be more helpful - We had a 1 night stay as a group of 8 (4 seperate rooms) staying here ready to travel to Liverpool the next morning to run half marathon. After we had booked we realised the hotel didn't serve breakfast on a Sunday morning until 7:30am. We had to leave at 7:30am. The wonderful reception and restaurant staff were amazing and arranged for a 'breakfast on the go' bag which was all ready for us at reception for 7:30 on the Sunday morning. We had bacon/sausage sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt, sauces, cutlery and bottled water. We couldn't be more thankful and we all completed the half marathon after a healthy brekky! The rooms were perfect and we all can't wait to return!
• 934mandiej (4/5): Not great - My sis an I came 5 weeks ago an it was amazing f,ood was fab an we loved it that much we came back for mum mother day present with my other sis .what a disappointment an let down.the food was dismal. They ad changed the menu we order veg soup an it was celery soup full of string bits an the bread was in edable rock hard . My burgers were burnt an my sis chick burger was covered in sesame seeds and a awful sauce. We asked the waitress wot was the sauce she said she didn't no as new menu .they were served on the smallest plates an for 20 pound a burger it's dreadfull.wen checking out I told them an they said sorry that's it .I don't think I will be back. From the last time which was lovely to this dreadful.felt so sorry for my mum . Note to fellow customers don't order food .

Would recommend! - Just back from a 3 night break at The Mill and could not be happier The hotel is in a perfect location, close to the City Centre and the station. Parking is opposite the hotel in a secure area with barrier entry and exit. Situated on either side of the canal it is certainly different! The hotel itself was very clean in both the rooms and the communal areas. Coffee, tea and biscuits were topped up each day. Having read in other reviews that breakfast could be a little chaotic we were pleasantly surprised to see this was far from the case. The staff were extremely organised, food was replaced the second it ran low and there was plenty of choice and variety. We didn't make use of the spa as the hotel was more of a base for the various things we had planned whilst there. Final word goes to the Staff, who were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. As always the quesion is, would we go back? The answer is a categoic YES!

Room spacious but beside main road so pretty noisy, shower facility poor. seems to be an issue with temperature of water. mould on shower curtain. shower gel impossible to get anything out of it. dusty room. Bed was comfy but pillows lumpy. Breakfast ok, no mushrooms or black pudding. should use local produce also. Wouldnt recommend. Its not huge changes needed just someone to provide much TLC and staff training
• leighp856 (10/5): Good hotel that turned into a lifesaver - This is not your usual review This is good hotel which is a converted mill beautifully appointed We elected to dine in the canal side restaurant food and service were spot on but at the end of the meal my partner suffered a medical issue This is where good becomes great the restaurant manager and the waitress identified there was a problem and discreetly and effectively dealt with the situation which resulted in ambulance and hospital but a complete recovery from a minor stroke We cannot thank you enough and can report room food and drink that we did get to sample were great and we will be back to fully enjoy your facilities Thank you

• Davidfrost63 (8/5): A good 3 star city centre hotel - A converted mill, from the outside you don’t know what to expect. However, once inside you immediately get the feel of a modern interior, tastefully furnished. The staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and friendly, showing an interest in their customers. Rooms were comfortable, the bathroom whilst compact and a little tight had a great walk in shower. Biscuits were supplied in room along with tea and coffee. I would say that the breakfast whilst plentiful and well cooked, was a tad average, plenty of toast but some rustic bread would have been nice. Loads of carbohydrates to fill you up, the coffee was not that strong. However, the lunch and evening menus were good, also a well stocked bar. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay and we would go there again as the location was ideal only 5-10 minutes from the cathedral, city walls and the main shops on Foregate St. The bus station only three hundred metres and railway station only ten minute walk away.
• M4692UZclairew (8/5): A lovely stay but the spa does let the hotel down - A lovely weekend stay for Valentines . The hotel room was comfortable and clean . Staff friendly and efficient service . Breakfast room busy , menu quite limited ,but we enjoyed what was on offer . The only negative was that we enquired to book treatments in the spa two weeks prior to our stay and was told there was no availability , which we was disappointing as guests. Also the spa pool was cool and facilities limited . I would prefer to pay a little bit more for my stay to have a more luxurious spa experience ..
• missandim (8/5): Great hotel and clean, but areas need updating. - Had a lovely stay here at the weekend. Clean hotel, great parking, lovely breakfast, modern reception area and gym. However, the things that I think let the hotel down are the spa changing rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms which all need modernising! The changing rooms are like the old council gym changing rooms and women need a pound coin or trolley coin for lockers. The bedroom furniture is old, mismatched and the curtains weren’t even on the hooks properly. The bathrooms clearly haven’t been updated for at least 20 years so look worn tired and didn’t look particularly clean (but I do think they were clean).
• V1852GPcatherines (8/5): Good location - It's a great location by the canal and a short stroll into the centre of Chester. The room was spacious and clean. It had a nice walk in rainshower. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. We had a vegan breakfast of cereal, toast, juice and coffee. There was a vegan cooked breakfast available as well. They have EV charging in the car park. The car park was very full when we got there but we managed to find a space and they can open up an overflow car park if needs be. More information on their website about breakfast and EV charging would be helpful. The hotel had a nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly.
• woodlilian8 (10/5): Love love love the Mill hotel - we stayed at the Mill Hotel for my husbands 60th birthday - once again there is nothing too much trouble and the staff are very helpful and efficient. The Mill hotel is my favourite ever hotel and true home from home. I was surprised to see the hotel restaurant shut in the evening - although you can get food from the bar area which has its own separate dining area which is very pleasant. The prices for rooms and the bar drinks/bar food is very reasonable and competitive - I come to the Mill hotel at least twice a year and i have seen a decline in the number of people using the restaurant in the evening- possibly because it is on the pricey side. We came in September 2025 and we were the only ones in the restaurant - seems like an under used potential gold mine
• angelaallan2020 (10/5): Such a great hotel with brilliant facilities - Amazing hotel and great facilities. We had two nights here and loved it all so much. We had a fancy canal side balcony room (room 516) which is really nice; big and well equipped. The swimming pool is fantastic; clean, well maintained and it was this that influenced our stay here as a central city centre hotel with a pool is hard to find. The hotel is a short stroll into the centre. The breakfast was really good and the staff super friendly and helpful all across the board. Parking was included in the rate (again not always the case) We couldn’t have been happier with our two night stay. (This was our 2nd stay) Thank you.

• J2017DFlisac (10/5): Amazing hotel x - Stayed here for one night, absolutely loved the hotel. The guy on reception was so welcoming and helpful. Our room was very spacious and immaculate. We used the pool and jacuzzi this adds a really nice touch to hotel. The breakfast was lovely, lots to choose from and very tasty. We have stayed in Chester plenty of times, this was our first stay here. It'll be the only hotel we choose in Chester from now on. Location is great x

Breakfast was included, but you need to be prepared if they are very busy, as you will then be given time slots. The parking was also included, which is my preference, however, try to arrive by 3pm as the car park is very congested. All in all we definitely enjoyed our stay and if we were to return to Chester, this is the hotel we would choose.

• helencV5632HI (4/5): Dissappointing - We were a party of 9 Staying for my 65th birthday. My first disappointment was the size of room also very tired and dated. Bathroom very old fashioned. Breakfast was buffet style and to be fair food was good but for the size of hotel and amount of guests needed to have a much larger serving area enormous queues. Restaurant food on my birthday meal was not very nice and was only luke warm and staff were not the most friendly. Forgot to bring out the cake we supplied as they did not know which table it was for, the balloon was a major giveaway. Whole experience was disappointing would not stay again

• JoeY103 (6/5): Nothing to write home about but adequate - Our room was dark with very poor lighting although it was clean the room itself was quite cold with just one radiator, breakfast was good self service style the staff were good and helpful I wasn’t happy with the £12 car parking charge as this wasn’t mentioned in the hotel write up prior to booking, the lift could do with updating considering the amount of rooms in the hotel location was good as it was quite close to the town centre

• GillS98 (8/5): Great location - If you could give half scores it would be a 4.5, overall very good but just missing on some aspects. The location is great, midway between the railway station and the town centre. The price was good for a city centre break. The room was a good size with a decent wardrobe, we had a view over the canal which was nice, was surprised to find no bottled water as most places seem to provide that now also found the tea/coffee selection a little sparse and not hot chocolate. We asked at reception for iron and board, I went to the bar to get some water and when I got back to our room they were already there, the cover on the board was thin and the marking from the board came through on my top so the next morning asked at reception if they could change it which they did but didn't take the 1st one away, the second was a little better but the marking still came through so maybe better covers needed, also when our room was made up each day they didn't take the glasses away so had a collection when we left. Breakfast was ok, the man greeting us at the door was welcoming and efficient, I'm not a big fan of buffets of any kind but it was ok. Overall a good stay, had a walk along the canal before leaving which was nice and would probably be even better in the warmer weather. Were we to return to Chester would probably opt to stay here again.
• Mrsbable (10/5): Great hotel! - Visited for two nights for my sisters birthday. One double standard, one twin standard. Both lovely and clean with everything we needed. All staff in all areas professional, friendly and capable. Rialto bar served lovely food and drinks, Canaletto did gorgeous breakfasts. Ten minutes walk into city centre. The bed wasn’t the comfiest but if a firm mattress is your preference then it would suit. The water was red hot the shower over the bath a tad wobbly 😏 breakfast was good hot and plentiful to set you up for the day 😋 all in a a good choice 👍🏻

Within walking distance of the city centre, loads of lovely eating houses and old fashioned proper pubs! Breakfast was plentiful and hot...unlike a similar large chain of hotels we usually stay in! Staff all very friendly and helpful. Front desk manned 24 hrs for any problems.
• Collette_B186337 (4/5): Small room and dirty bed - We are in the hotel as we write this review we are in room 209 which is the smallest room we have ever stayed in and we do a lot of travelling had to call to reception to complain about numerous different colour hairs in the bed. Complained to reception and asked for the manager but was informed that no one was available until Monday morning. They have sent the cleaning staff up to change the bedding but this I think is unacceptable. We asked to change rooms but reception have informed that no other rooms are available Not a very good experience so far but unfortunately we are here for 2 days.
• davegrindley (10/5): Excellent stay at a high standard hotel - We stayed for one night at the hotel 2nd of November 2025 - from the time we arrived we knew we were in for a treat. The receptionist was very friendly and polite. She explained everything we needed to know for our stay. The room was very good (I would say more than 3 star). We made use of the spa facilities which gin was of a very good standard. Breakfast - again we were met by a very efficient and jolly young man who showed us to our table the food was excellent and plenty of it. Our overall experience and stay was was of a very high standard. The Mill hotel is. Bit of a hidden gem would 100% stays there next time we stay in Chester!

• duncanbtrain (4/5): Disappointing. - I wasn't going to leave a review as I don't particularly like leaving negative reviews, but after revisiting the website and seeing the huge discrepancy between the room we were allocated and the ones presented there, I feel I have to. The room we had on the fifth floor where we were for four nights was tiny. There was no storage space at all, eight inches of hanging space and a deep windowsill. The boasted original features which sold us the hotel consisted of a beam and brick effect wall paper. The shower wouldn't drain and the pumps for the water on the whole floor were audible anytime throughout the night when anyone used their water supply or toilet. We were afraid of using the lift as the doors weren't working properly which we duly reported, and the breakfast was of an extremely poor quality: we went a second time thinking it couldn't have been as bad as we remembered, but afterwards breakfasted in Chester. The spa, where we hoped to relax and unwind after a day in Chester was cramped, crowded and over chlorinated with a gritty floor and the most miserable and abrasive member of staff at the entrance. The whole hotel was tired and desperately needed a refurbishment. The only two things going for it were it's location, near the centre of Chester, and the reception staff. My partner and I were hoping for a romantic get away, but we couldn't get away quickly enough. Perhaps if we paid significantly more for a bigger room outside the original mill, we would have been happier - but the breakfast and spa would still have been significantly below par. A very disappointing stay.

The hotel is ideally located close to the city centre with car parking which is reasonably priced for a 24hr/48hr stay. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The room and hotel were very clean and they offer free access to the spa( pool/steam room/jacuzzi/sauna) I would highly recommend this hotel and the management should be proud of all the staff, who couldn't do enough for you
• 918AmandaM918 (10/5): What a gem - Had a wonderful time here. Positives Room - classic double room. Everything you needed. The room was clean and well presented. Plenty tea coffee sugar, etc. Biscuits provided. Bathroom compact but managed to fit in a bath and over the bath shower. Lots of very hot water. Room was hot, but had a fan. Desk in the room and plenty of sockets. Negatives Husband thought bed was a bit hard, but I thought it was ok, and I'm glad we took our own pillows they weren't great. Just a double bed, room wouldn't have taken a king size. Breakfast - Positives - Buffet style, very well laid out. Tea and coffee were brought to the table. I heard someone ask for hot chocolate, and it wasn't a problem. Breakfast had scrambled eggs, fried eggs, sausage, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, toast, and bacon. Cold offering included cereal. Someone requested porridge and got it. Yoghurt, crossaints jam butter and fruit juice. Fresh apples and tinned fruit. Negative mushrooms and blackpudding would have been an added bonus. The pre done toast didn't work well, but it was ok. Spa Positives - Fab, better than I thought. Not huge, but nicely done. Never got too crowded. Spa tub, big and warm, and lots of power from jets. Steam room and sauna all included. You can add on spa treatments for a price. Towels provided. Showers with hair/shower gel on walls. Big changing rooms. Spinner for swimwear and plastic bags provided for wet clothes. Neg - A couple of small tiles are missing, but I am being very picky. Location Positive - on the canal, easy walking distance to city centre. Neg None Summary Well worth what we paid. Just under £150 for two nights. You do have to pay £12 a night parking, but it is situated right outside of the hotel. If you book through their website, it's included, but I found the price is more expensive. Overall, what a gem and we will be back.
• spursfansEnfield (8/5): Perfect for a two night stay - We stayed at the mill hotel for two nights - 28th-30th October in a business double room on level 2 .We arrived at around 2 pm but the staff put our bags in a small room until our room was ready a 3 pm . The staff were very friendly and helpful . The food in the bar and for breakfast was very nice with a good menu. The Mill is ideally situated for Chester city centre and the bus central exchange and we would thoroughly recommend it for a two night stay the hotel is spotlessly clean . The only slight niggle was that we could not get a lather from the shower gels provided ,but apart from that we were delighted with our stay.

• helenb861 (4/5): Not value for the money charged - You do not get value for the price you pay. The biggest let down is the poor quality of the breakfast items. The coffee is rank, in this day and age a coffee machine would be better than cheap coffee in a pot. The sausage is poor cheap processed meat. The scrambled egg lacks flavour and the orange juice is not exactly fresh. The seating in the dinning room needs replacing rather than covering them with tacky covers. The water from the hot tap is very hot in the bathroon. On a positive the bed is very comfy. It said Sky sports was inc and to try 800 but no sky sports came on. The swimming pool and gym as good though some of the gym equipment is getting old. If you don't need the gym or pool you would save pounds by booking in at one of the travelodges in the city centre and having a better quality breakfast at Wetherspoons!!

The car park was secure and free if you book direct with the hotel or £12 . You can stay in the car park until mid day on the day you check out. The room was comfortable and you are in control of the heating. Breakfast was all you’d expect. You need to book your time for breakfast. Staff were friendly. Very happy with our stay, all you’d expect!

• I776RXannas (10/5): Great stay in lovely city - Great stay here. Large room which we were not expecting. We stayed for the Chester Marathon and were impressed by how the reception team managed such a busy weekend. Breakfast was good with hot and cold options. About 10 minutes walk to the centre of Chester and 15 minutes to the racecourse. Yes it’s not the most modern, but it’s clean and does the job. We would definitely stay again upon a return visit to a lovely city.

The spa treatments were super - we had a hot stones massage, foot ritual and salt scrub. The only disappointment was that the swimming pool was very noisy and not relaxing at all only due to a disrespectful family in there. There were told but ignored.

Only thing for us that let it down was breakfast this morning. Not appetising at all- watery baked beans, fatty,greasy and lukewarm bacon and poor quality scrambled egg. Toast was cold too. Am hoping this was just an off day as the hotel is lovely. Was it worth the £180 we paid for one night- not this time.

We didn’t eat dinner there but the breakfast was nice they had gluten free choices too.

Only issue was the bed settee had been made up for some reason as there was only two of us. So we put the bed settee away and under it was a really big ugly red looking stain on the carpet, so I think the sofa had been pulled out to cover it up. Other than that the hotel and facilities were perfect

On arrival we was hit with a bill of £24 for parking at the hotel we didn't see this on booking.com but people who book directly with the hotel don't get charged parking. The room itself was really small no wardrobe just some pipes to hang clothes on The window shut to but wouldn't lock. Both of the towels was stained with black marks, sink overflow had black gunk coming out of it. The bed was very clean and really comfortable. The breakfast was truly awful. Cheap sausage undercooked greasy bacon kept running out of eggs. We went yo the bar for a hot chocolate before bed cost £7.50 for 2 it came and was like dirty dish water, managed to get a refund back. Will not stay again

• Bryher (6/5): Not happy with our room. - Check in was really good with friendly staff who directed us to our room. It smelt quite damp in our room and soon realised why when I had a shower. The bathroom really needed updating with a really old fashioned shower in the bath and only half a shower curtain. The water went all over the floor making it very slippery and carried on out of the door onto the carpet, which looked as though it had happened many times (see photo). Towels were old and one had a hole in it. Not sure why we also only had half a net curtain on the window? Restaurant was ok but could have done with more on the menu. My tenderloin pork certainly wasn’t tender and was overcooked. The potatoes were undercooked and hard. Staff, again were very pleasant. We had booked a table but there was no record of it. Buffet breakfast was plentiful but the fried eggs were pre cooked and hard. Would not recommend this hotel.
• karen (8/5): - 1st time stay here for one night. Room ok clean but dated. Overlooking the canal.Large comfy bed quiet outside. Rooms not soundproof. Had a drink in the bar which was reasonably priced and a nice area. Staff very pleasant. We used the swimming pool when we arrived which was quite a large pool. Only issue pool towel given was very thin and i struggled to dry myself properly. Hotel a very short walk into main shopping area/ bars etc. Breakfast good choice of items. Parking £12 from check in till next day midday only ( not full 24hrs). Would i stay again- probably yes

• Recce-61alfa (8/5): NEC 2025 - Location is ideal for the city centre. We stayed in room 624 top floor room over looking the canal. The room is a standard layout with shower -it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was well presented and hot. Met the manager in the lift - he was very welcoming and friendly and asked all the right questions. Car park was expensive but it is a central location and to be expected. Overall a very nice hotel and well located.

• K1053LNsallyj (6/5): ⭐⭐⭐ - Friendly staff, room was nice but bed was comfortable but it was two singles put together so was a dip on the middle, toilet made a weird noise while you flushed the toilet, key card was annoying because twice couldn't get into the room because of the key card didn't work, overall was good room, could use the spa facilities even when you've checked out and a lovely breakfast.
• Alan (6/5): - Hotel is in a great location, facilities are all very good. It has a very nice bar with large TV screens and comfortable seating, the breakfast which was included is buffet style and of a good standard. The only thing that lets it down is the quality of the mattress and the awful pillows they seem to use on both sides of the hotel. We asked to move after the first night as the bed & pillows in our room was shocking, to be fair they moved us across to the newer side into one of the upgraded rooms with no fuss and it was a lot better but for a fairly high end hotel you would expect the beds / mattresses and pillows to be of a lot better quality even in the newer side. Reception staff are nice and friendly and it’s a 5 min walk to the centre where the bars and restaurants all are.

• 73NMD (10/5): Beautifully clean and friendly - My wife and I stayed recently as part of a Railtrail group. At first we found it a little unusual and confusing as the old and new parts were divided by the canal and we needed two lifts and a bridge crossing to reach our room. However, we quickly got into the routine so no problem. This was probably one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in for many years. Rooms and public places were spotlessly clean, staff were delightfully friendly, helpful and efficient and couldn't do enough for us. Wonderful breakfasts, although I would have liked to have seen black pudding available. Evening meals were tasty and well prepared. We hope to stay again independently some time in the future.
• Alistair (10/5): - Clean, quiet room and comfortable mattress. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated within easy walking of Chester with all it's shops and eateries. Easy driving to local sites of interest, including Ness Botanical Gardens, nature reserves and historical sites. A great base for exploring the surrounding area. Hotel restaurant is fine for a more relaxed bite to eat. Spa service and experience (massage) was very good. Excellent buffet breakfast!!! Good value for money. I would definitely visit again!

• Andrew (10/5): Nice but...... - Room was very nice but far too warm. There was a fan but it didnt work. However i did report this and a second arrived. It still had a rather dated bath. I would have thought most by nowadays should be shower's. There was no assistance bar or handle to help lower myself onto the very low down bog. As i am slightly disabled this was a small issue, that can be easily solved by fitting a handle. Also there was no bog brush so my skiddies remained. We had a lovely meal in the bar which could have gone drastically wrong, it was only that the barmaid noticed that the barman serving us placed an order for burger instead of Steak!! Breakfast was 100%. I could not fault the staff or food. All most acceptable. I paid £82 for 1 night which i think was reasonable. Would i stay again ? Yes, hopefully with bog brushes !!

• TheClarks55 (8/5): Base for Visiting Chester - We stayed here for 4 nights. Its a hotel set over two buildings with a Spa and pool. Our room was a business class room, but the beds were not what we expected of King Size being narrower than expected and unfortunately not that comfortable. Whilst the room was clean, it was hot and as mentioned the bed wasn't that comfortable being on the hard side. We had breakfast which was fresh and nice but I think there could have been more on offer if you didn't want a full English. All the staff were friendly and professional. The evening meals were very nice and reasonably priced. We used the pool twice and the facilities were clean and the pool and jacuzzi were great. The hotel is well positioned for those visiting Chester
