- Verified traveler (10/5): Very nice place! - My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. The lady checking us in was nice and showed us where everything was. They have a common are in the basement with a gym, fridge to put food in, games, books, tables, couches, a stove and cookware, ice machine, etc. They offer coffee, orange juice, milk, granola bars, oatmeal, danishes and fruit in the morning in the office. The room was extremely clean and comfortable.
- Mark James (10/5): - It was nice and clean. Unique. Staff was very friendly and curtious.
- Myrla (10/5): - Great staff!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great lodging option when visiting Sugarloaf - Overall great, plastic tub to put dirty/snowy boots was a plus. Breakfast options was great, they have ingredients and you can fix it, which we liked.

- Mark (10/5): - The distance away from the crowds at Sugarloaf was awesome. Property delivers excellence at a low price.
- Kimberly (8/5): - Nice clean convenient place to stay!!
- Teresa (10/5): - A wonderful place to stay if you’re snowmobiling. You can ride your sled directly to the trails without moving your car. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms are Cindy and comfortable. We will be back!
- Gabor (8/5): - Very comfortable, close to Sugarloaf ski resort.
Also super affordable
- steve (10/5): - This was perfect! it was exactly what I expected and wanted in a rural motel. We were ten minutes from Sugarloaf and five minutes from local eateries, if that. The local people were great and the beds in the motel were super comfortable after a long day of skiing. It was an awesome trip and the motel was perfect!
- Astrig (10/5): - Perfect area to walk to a great restaurant, good access to ski and ski mobile trails.
- Daniel (10/5): - The lady staffing the hotel was super friendly and helpful. We slept well and had a great stay!
- Kim (10/5): - It was so clean and cozy. The last 2 motels were terrible. This one was awesome! I only wished we could have stayed longer. I can’t wait to go back !
- Melissa (4/5): - Just enough for one night beds not comfortable attendant lazy!
- Carleen (8/5): The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. - We really appreciated the staff directing us to sites we didn't know about, but did make our trip sensational. Her suggestions made our trip exactly what we were looking for. Clean room, comfortable bed, and helpful staff - I highly recommend Spillover Motel and Inn.
- Fay (10/5): Great motel - Our room was great. Guests can use a kitchen to prepare meals. The motel supplied eggs, bread, juice, and milk. The motel also had pastries and fruit for breakfast. The staff was wonderful.
- James (10/5): Fantastic Getaway - The stay at the Spillover Motel is the most amazing weekend away that me and my wife have had in a long time. The Motel and the people there were awesome. I can't wait to get back for another visit
- Viktor (10/5): Great Motel for this part of New England - Extremely friendly staff. The rooms are clean and in good condition. I would stay here again.
- scott (8/5): - plenty of hot water and loved the community kitchen where you can make breakfast i would go again
- Stephen L (6/5): - I booked a room w/2 beds, they assigned the room. They knew I was coming late and between that time they changed my room to a single bed room without telling me, so someone had to sleep on floor.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Room was clean and homey. Great water pressure. Large shower head. Oscillating fan in the room. Nice little continental breakfast. Super friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone staying in Stratton.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice facility and convenient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful views of the mountains. Horse paddock with Hank the horse and field with various chickens roaming about..
Everything worked in the nice clean room.
Very quiet. Stratton/Eustis is a great place to explore. Everyone we met was friendly and Helpful. There is a nice town beach at Cathedral Pines. Access to lots of hiking trails and bodies of water. Loved Quill Hill. Local restaurants and take-out to satisfy most everyone.
- Verified traveler (6/5): It’ll Do… - Very quiet, reasonably priced, close to a variety of hiking trails. Good places to eat close by. Close to a gas station.
Wifi would not work in room.
Staff friendly. The community kitchen cook your own breakfast didn’t appeal to me, but might work for some.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great weekend stay! Very clean and well kept. Staff was always warm and helpful.
- Christopher (8/5): Will stay again when back in the area. - It was a nice room and certainly appreciated the extra closet space when you first walked in to make it easy. My only gripe is that I wish it had a mini fridge in the room. But having stayed at a different place the following night (due to availability) I wish I had the chance to stay the extra night and will be my 'go-to' next time I'm in the region.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean and convenient. Breakfast was make your own and the stove was always being used which made it difficult to cook eggs or heat water. Would have made it much nicer if there was hot water already made like the coffee and pans were very old scratched.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was clean and comfortable enough, however the receptionist/manager who refused to wear a mask, and the snarky bitter comment posted on the front door about those who want to uphold COVID protocol need to go! We were very disappointed with the completely apathetic approach toward what we're all going through.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Comfortable stay, friendly staff, nice breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Convenience and ease of use of facilities. Good kitchen area for food preparation.
- Richard (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and the hotel room was clean. We will be staying here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A great little place to stay in the western mountains of Maine. Close to skiing, snowmobile and hiking trails. Good restaurants nearby.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very quiet nd private but motel is very close to town. very convenient, rooms were fine.
- JIm (6/5): Update your website - The website shows rooms with micro and refrigerators, neither were present in the room I was in.
The website notes “a gentle knock on the door between 7 and 8 AM and a small cooler being left outside the door with breakfast”.
Nope, no such knock or breakfast.
Update the website to reality.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect close to the mountain overnight stay with access to cooking facilities.
- eric (10/5): - quick,clean and convienient
- Greg (10/5): Awesome - Great place to stay
- william (10/5): saw a Moose - This is a wonderful, clean.well kept comfortable friendly place to stay,we will stay again GREAT!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is the most friendly place I have ever stayed. They give you access to their kitchen to help yourself to fresh farm eggs and coffee anytime you want it. Very comfortable and great quiet location
- ELIZABETH (8/5): Off beaten path - Friendly, helpful staff, Clean room, quiet, very peaceful offroad location. Community kitchen.
- Patricia (10/5): - Great room and very quiet. Coffee, fruit and oatmeal in the lobby in the am. Great checkin, the clerk was very helpful when we arrived a bit late. I would recommend this easy to find and reasonably priced motel.
- charles (8/5): - Clean comfortable room and a friendly accommodating staff.
The common room with the kitchen was actually a pleasant surprise.
I will stay again when in the Sugarloaf area.
- none (10/5): - good and clean, would stay there for another visit
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Stayed two times this summer while hiking in the area. Great place! Very comfortable, clean, and conveniently located.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice and comfortable place to stay while I was up hiking in the area for the weekend
- Dana (8/5): - I enjoyed my stay. Everything I could ever need was provided. My only gripe, is the bed is really noisy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For a motel and the price this place was great. Very clean and we would stay there again.
- James (8/5): Sugarloaf outdoor ctr - Good place to stay if looking for something near Sugarloaf Mtn downhill skiing and the cross country outdoor center. Use of downstairs basement for breakfast was a good option, but not the easiest to access and almost impossible with an injury or even the slightest ailment. Price wise it seemed a little excessive, based on overall condition of hotel, with a very basic room
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms, great parking - 15 N. of Sugarloaf. Lots of parking, large comfortable rooms. No mini fridge, micro or coffee maker in rooms but available downstairs. I stay here each year whenever I am going to Sugarloaf. Affordable and super clean!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Spillover is in a great location and is clean and comfortable. Everyone is friendly and they have an excellent community space and kitchen downstairs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was very clean and the room was well appointed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic little place. Was a pleasant stay. They have a horse, chickens, dogs. Such a quite little town. 21 miles from Canada
- Maureen (10/5): - Room 8 was perfect . First level, which provided easy in and out access. We loved the make it yourself kitchen facility. Great coffee in the lobby . Of course the best part of our stay was the staff . Special thanks to Angie for finding me a pair of loaner ski pants
And to LeeAnn the owner for letting me borrow her daughters ski pants. Saved me having to pay Mt retail prices
Would highly recommended this motel
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It's in a very quiet and relaxing part of Maine. We were in the area to attend a 45 Anniversary party at a camp.
We had a bottom floor room and the room had a strong odour that didn't allow my husband to breathe very well.
The Spillover management made other arrangements for our last night at their Event farmhouse up the road. They made our bad situation a good stay in a other location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We checked in late (midnight) and had called ahead to arrange this. The staff made it super simple for us to grab our key and check in with zero hassle.
Our room was easy to find. Cute touches and very clean and updated room. Our room slept 4 (3 adults and 1 child) with ease.
Beautiful scenery surrounding the hotel. Some simple continental breakfast options were also included.
We will visit again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very comfortable room. Excellent dining next door. Great place to stop on route
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We found the rooms to be very nice and clean. The staff was very helpful when suggesting hiking trips or other ideas for activities in the area. The continental breakfast was sparse but adequate. The coffee was delicious. We would definitely go back.
- po (10/5): Hiking high peaks - Clean, great restaurant by property by Same owners
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. I would stay again
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was very warm. ? AC when it is 40 degrees. Desk clerk very kind and waited for us.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was very hot, the temperature was set to minimum, yet without the AC running in May the room would not cool down. The AC was a flloor unit and noisy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Super clean and friendly staff. Close to the ski base. Excellent price/quality ratio.
- Randy (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean. Will definitely stay again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Close to Sugarloaf mountain. Great place for dinner next door!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful check-in. Wonderful strong and hot shower. Clean and comfortable bedding.
Nice Continental breakfast but possibly could allow more space for it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A great getaway place located near many attractions in all seasons. Just there for an overnight, but room was neat and clean - up to expectations.
- Raymond (10/5): - Was amazing! Easy (less than) 10 minute drive to Sugarloaf
- Josh (10/5): - Everything was nice except for the mattresses
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, only 4 miles from Cathedral Pines Campground and close to Sugarloaf. Room was clean, , quiet, warm, and comfortable and appeared to have been recently updated. Cute, homey touches like lavender spritz for the pillows. Staff were knowledgeable about the area and even suggested several bakers for a wedding cake. Continental breakfast was free and included yogurt, fruit, and string cheese in addition to pastries.
- Thomas J (8/5): Nice Little Motel Near Skiing - Very nice updated older motel. Breakfast area can be quite crowded st times. Very friendly staff.
- Eric (10/5): Great place for a nights sleep. - It’s exactly what it should be- clean simple comfortable. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Beds are comfortable- no frills but dose the trick.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and looked new even being not new facility. People were very friendly. Will definitly stay at spillwater again.
- Colleen (10/5): Convenient location. - This was a great location for quick drives to Sugarloaf each morning. The shared kitchen in the basement was great for making a hearty breakfast (cereal/toast/yogurt/fruit are available with coffee in the continental breakfast in the lobby, but we like to have some eggs before a day of snowboarding), and dinner. There's also an impressive gym set-up across the hall from the kitchen. The mattress/pillows weren't the best but we slept soundly after being exhausted from the slopes. There was a nice hot shower and ample space for drying snow gear. Thanks for having us!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great Location. Nice staff and very clean. Defiantly dated but they have made an effort to update amenities. Only major downside is that it can be noisy at times and the breakfast options are limited.
- David (10/5): - It was very wonderful! I've stayed there once before. The price is very good and the scenery is very nice! The staff is great! The breakfast is good too!
- Kevin (8/5): nice stay - Great place to stay, clean, quiet, good rates
- Tammy (6/5): - Sheets smelled like smoke. We were in a non smoking room . Location was good Breakfast needs work
- Dave (10/5): - A comfy place and very convenient. We've stayed there before and will again.
- Craig R (8/5): Good Digs in Stratton - This is a good place to stay in the Flagstaff L. area. If the ventilation in the room were better I'd give it top marks. I had one hot night there, and the supplied fan was not able to cool things off much. Next night was much better.
- Carole (6/5): Don't stay in the room next to the chimney! - The area is beautiful and the place was clean, but the room was stifling hot making it hard to sleep. The mattresses could use a pillow top for comfort and extra pillows (more than one per person) would make it nicer as well.
- Verified traveler (8/5): doneandgone - Quick reliable wifi; spacious & exceptionally clean suite w/comfortable queen bed, microwave, large mini-fridge but no freezer compartment, thick bath towels, small table w/two chairs, & fireplace heater. Friendly courteous front desk staff; continental breakfast until check-out time w/cereals, sweetened & unsweetened oatmeal, sweetened yogurt, fresh fruits, juice, coffee, tea. Black-out curtains would have been a welcomed feature; other guests could be heard in adjacent rooms & walking along wooden balcony. Very well-maintained establishment w/charming country décor. Beautiful surroundings of green grass, a grazing horse, & roaming chickens across the way.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Had a very good stay. I will stay here the next time we visit. Thank you Mary, Cathy and Dylan.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location for our visit to the area, and a very spacious and pleasant room.
- Jeff (10/5): - The Spillover was excellent if you don't mind old fashion motels. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Nine of us stayed for one night on our motorcycle trip. The Loose Moose restaurant just down the street had an awesome breakfast. Would stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Place was good. Bed was comfortable and for a continental breakfast, they really had a lot more choices than usual which was great. Would go there again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Spacious, clean, comfortable.
- Robyn (8/5): - Clean and affordable. Friendly office staff. Definitely would stay there again.
- I.Lessard (10/5): - Staff friendly; very clean room. Breakfast simple nut very good!
