Guest Reviews
- Cleah (2/5): Yikess! - The hotel is really dirty. Theres a musty smell, mold in the bathroom and stains on the carpet and walls. There was no bathroom door and obvious water damage in the bathroom. I didnt feel safe or comfortable, so i left after one night. I don't think any money has been spent on the rooms in a long time. The owner or person who checked me was very nice, but once i saw the room i realized the owner just dosen't care. Even the lamp shade was cooked! They couldn't even be bothered to straighten it out. I slept one night, but onto of the covers and used my own blanket. I would'nt stay here until they decide to clean it up. The next hotel i stayed at was the same price, same location and totally wonderful! The good reviews i thinj must be from family and friends. The pictures posted are false advertising and not what its like at all and I'm generally not fussy.
- Graeme (8/5): - Have stayed at Prospect Inn several times over the last few years when in Fredericton. It's conveniently located near downtown, quiet and economical, and Manager Norm is attentive, friendly and helpful.
- Donald (8/5): - Management obliging, friendly.
Access to the room was very convenient, from parking site or internal hallway. The bed was very comfortable.
TV, minifridge, microwave supplied. Soap and towels fresh. One oddity; no cups or glasses.
The building shows a minor amount of wear, mild for its age.
I will be pleased to stay there again.
- Brenda (2/5): - Hotels.com. I will never use this site again. What a Colossal RIP OFF you are.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - very run down, many things not working owner or manager helpful with directions, etc.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was very dated and like the pictures showed.
- K (4/5): - We bought Lysol wipes to clean the room. It was pretty gross there were drips of something down the light switches.
- eva (8/5): - very pleasant staff, convinient location, nice, clean motel to stay, thank you.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Disappointed with the condition of the hotel. The inside and out need to be repaired.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We killed bugs on the wall...and there was also earwigs.
- Verified traveler (4/5): This place is very poor the rooms smelled of smoke - Rooms not clean, smelled of smoke, air conditions was extremely noisy and smelled of skunk. Bed was uncomfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice stay - Tad out of the way, but once you get to know your barrings easy to get around!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice stop for a night... - The hotel is dog friendly without an additional charge. If you want basic and clean, Prospect Inn will work for you. The hallway smells like cigarettes but you can access your room from the outside instead of the hallway. The decor is out dated but clean. Overall it was a nice comfortable stay on my way to Nova Scotia.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good hotel and the friendly stff - We had a nice pleasant stay. The place was calm and quite. The room was spacious with all aminities.
- Frederick (8/5): Pretty good - It had everything you'd need for the night like a TV, wifi, etc. Staff was enthusiastic and friendly.
- gary (8/5): - great location ,room was clean and had a good breakfast.bed needed mattress replaced not very comfortable
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Old, tired smoke filled room. Really needs updating. Pictures on web site very deceiving.
- Pam (8/5): Friendly - They are pet friendly and are in transition as new owners so not able to serve food Good location, quite and very welcoming owners
- YUH SU (8/5): This is a good choice with good deal. - We stayed one night on our way back to Ontario. It's a good deal and the staff is friendly. The room is spacious and clean and quiet. As a family of 4 people, I really appreciate that they offered 4 sets of towels while most of other hotels only offer 3 or even just 2 sets. This is a good hotel. If you're looking for a hotel in this area, this will be a good choice.
- Vincent (8/5): Really impressive ! - The hotel staff was really great and nice ! Way more nice than the 5 stars hôtels I usually go to ! Rooms were clean and great. Loved It.
- carole (4/5): Old very old need some renovations please - The bed cover neec to be replace, old place very desapointing
- Thom (4/5): Good location but a shabby place to stay - Nice enough folks at the desk etc, bug the condition of the place is pretty rough. Clearly it has seen its better days. It appeared too that it was serving as a residence hotel vs just transient folks traveling along.
- robin (8/5): - Inn a little out-dated but comfortable and clean. Only saw 1 staff member and he was very friendly
- Scott (8/5): - Norm was super friendly, and put me in a nice room with a balcony because I was staying a few days. They have a nice mom & pop restaurant downstairs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel close to Downtown - It was a nice clean hotel. No frills not fancy just the basics which was perfect for us as it was just a stop driving and sleep on our way home back to Toronto. Staff was friendly. The restaurant closes early so plan accordingly.
- Kate (8/5): Good hotel - Went up for the night for a concert and chose this hotel based on the price. Wasn't sure what I was going to get since I didn't pay much for the night, but I was very pleasantly surprised with my room. It was clean, smelled good, bed was comfortable, etc. It's about a 10 min drive back into the main part of Fredericton, but it was worth the money saved.
Good stay.
- NING (10/5): Prospect - I have a wonderful time at Prospect Inn. The room is spacious and the environmenet is quiet which is really good for a sleep especially after a tiring day. The innkeeper is super nice and we had a wonderful time while staying there.
- Cory (6/5): Below average, ok for price. - Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was not thoroughly cleaned, we found a cigarette butt under one of the chairs. Beds were below average quality, although I've found worse for this price. The WiFi was more or less un-usable, we were able to connect but were lucky if we could load a webpage.
Restaurant in the hotel was average quality with slightly higher than average prices.
Overall I'd say I got what I paid for, and barely.
- Alexandre (8/5): Good motel for car travellers - We stay in this motel just for one night on our way to P.E.I. The room was comfortable enough to get a nice rest, but it's definitely missing a table.
Also motel has a free parking and a decent not expensive restaurant. Downtown of Fredericton is just 5 min. away by car... I would recommend this motel for car travellers.
- David (8/5): nice room - Fast service
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly and helpful manager - Clean room and very comfortable bed. The manager was very helpful in giving me information on places to see. This hotel is close to shopping. Will only be the hotel I stay at while in Fredericton. Thanks Norm and your staff.
- Tania (4/5): - Very old hotel and could use a bit of paint
- Anne (6/5): Good hotel - It's a little loud being next to the highway and an old building so you can hear noise from the halls or your neighbors above you. Otherwise it was a great room and great proximity to downtown Fredericton
- Vicki (8/5): Great place to stay for the price. - Norm, the manager, was great! They had free laundry facilities. The hotel is a little on the old side and needs some repair. I suspect water intrusion on the first floor as there is a moldy smell in the stairwell. Our room on the second floor was fabulous!
- Verified traveler (2/5): The worst "Inn" ever! - The conditions were terrible. It smelled bad like mold, it was dirty and you could here the people upstairs through the ceiling also the tv never worked and when we asked for help they wouldn't help us. We had to go and get another hotel we were uncomfortable in that room. Reminded us of a cheap motel! Never staying there again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice motel - Motel is clean and quiet. Great for 1 night stay. If the room can have a small table for eating breakfast will be better.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad hotel, don't go. - The room has stinky smell, air conditioner doesn't work and air is dusty, chair is dirty. Hotel close to highway, very noisy at night. I hardly slept at night. I cannot understand why Expedia rate this motel at 2.5. It's less than 1 star motel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Passing through - Can't beat the price, but it's a little worn even so. Owner is very helpful and friendly. fine if you are passing through
- Verified traveler (6/5): OK for just a night's sleep - The hotel is just 9 min from downtown Fredericton and was easy to find. Reception was friendly, the room was clean, adequate with 2 large beds, and it looked as if it had been painted recently. It would not take a lot, however, to make this motel more appealing: update the bathroom, replace the carpet, add a small table and 2 arm chairs next to the window, and place the frig & microwave on a secure cabinet. For those that are sensitive to cigarette smoke, this is not an appropriate motel as many of the clients smoke on the small balcony, cigarette butts are omnipresent, and the smell permeates (all happening under the "no smoking" signs). If you are only staying for 8 hours, this is an adequate place.
- Joseph (10/5): This is great for a budget-minded traveller - I booked online after reading some reviews but I figured a room $40 less than what I am used to paying in Fredericton would not be that great. BUT you really do get your moneys worth. Flat screen TV, fridge, and microwave in the room was a pleasant surprise, and the fastest check-in I ever had in my life. 10 seconds and I was off to my room. Norm has done this for years and I like his old-fashioned sense of customer service. The restaurant was surprisingly inexpensive for a hotel as I got a huge breakfast for under ten bucks. If you want frills and duvets, this is not for you. If you want good value, give this place a try. I wish there was a Prospect Inn in every Maritime city. Good job !
- kurt (4/5): you get what you pay for - this hotel is rundown the furnishings are cheap and beatup the air conditioner barely worked and was crudely installed with duct tape the curtain that covered the window where the air conditioner was installed had a hole hacked in it to allow the air to pass into the room the bathroom was clean and serviceable and the bed was reasonably comfortable. Another example of you get what you pay for
- carl (8/5): Perfect stop on a long trip - This was a great stop on our way to Nova Scotia. We arrived late. Friendly service. Very comfortable room.
- Azhar (10/5): Nice surprise ! - Fredericton was busy the night I checked in so couldnt stay at my regular hotel. I tried Prospect Inn and was very pleasantly surprised by how nice it is. And the restaurant serves a great breakfast which is better than the usual complimentary fare you find in most hotels nowadays. Sharon on the desk was super and gave me a great room with a balcony overlooking the river.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - it was good.
- Sam (10/5): Bang for your buck - This is an older hotel but you can tell upgrades are happening. Staff were great. Rooms were super clean and bed very comfortable. I was given a nice drive-up room with a king-size bed. I didnt try the restaurant but will do next trip.
- emm (4/5): Close to downtown - Ok location, close to downtown. Room had a musty, stale smell. Parking was included.
- Joe (10/5): Best deal for your money - I travel a fair bit and have stayed at all types of hotels. Prospect Inn is definitely money well spent. The rooms are super clean and Norm and Sharon are excellent hosts. My room was a drive-up so very convenient to get luggage into the room. The restaurant has great home-cooking too. If you want frills, stay somewhere else. This is an old-fashioned place with old-fashioned values. Great job Prospect Inn !!!! I'll be back.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Convenient for drivers but the hotel is past its expiration date
- Ginette (2/5): Do not go there ever ... save yourself - very very disappointed will never go there again in my life Yerk :(
- Verified traveler (4/5): Carpet broken; problem with faucets - The carpet was broken; two faucets of three need adjustments (for one, hot and cold water reverse). The room need to be cleaned ou painted. Large room, confortable bed. It could be great with a bit of care.
I accept to recommend to friends if the price could be less than $90 or if they fixe the problems which need care but are not great problems!
