- Deanna (8/5): - We have stayed at this hotel in past but this stay was not the best . The card would not read to open the door , had to get it reset multiply times . No one came to look at it .. I would take 10mins to get into the room trying to get the card key to work .

Staff said the hotel was not busy but the only rooms available were on the second floor, the stairs were an easy grade but this could be a problem for someone with mobility issues as there is no elevator. Otherwise everything was fine. Breakfast was good.
- Tameka (8/5): - The property is old but it was clean. The front desk clerk was not that happy to see guest lol. It’s so quiet there I bet guest are not plentiful. It seems like she rather watch tv then greet and be a bit more welcoming to the guest. Felt like we kept her from watching her favorite tv show. But the hotel served its purpose of a one night stay. It’s a pretty stale environment. The young man was nice. Should have took his name for the review. Not many other choices in Refugio so that’s that!
- Shawn (2/5): - Was very disappointed when we got to the hotel. It showed it had a pool, but when we arrived the pool was green and nasty. Was really looking forward to the swimming pool. No elevators to the 2nd floor which is not mentioned unless you look at the super fine print under accessibility. The Pillows really suck so make sure you bring your own, did not get a good night sleep and was super stiff the next day. ALSO BEWARE OF THE BREAKFAST. Me and my went down and ate the breakfast I had just cereal thank goodness! My wife ate the breakfast and within the hour was sick and puking it all up. I do NOT recommend this place and will NOT be staying there again. 150$ a night is far from worth it. 50$ a night and I would have expected my stay to be this bad

- Kelly (10/5): Hidden gem close to the beach - We were headed to the beach and were unable to find a room so we opt for a room close enough to drive in the next day. Found this hotel and we were pleasantly surprised! Alice greeted us at the front desk and gave us a wonderful recommendation for dinner across the street. The next morning Norma was a complete whirlwind of customer service as she maintained breakfast and took care of departing guest! I travel for work and stay in a lot of hotels. Having employees who care about their jobs is priceless and made our last minute trip to the beach on a holiday weekend well worth it! Hotel is in great condition and well- maintained. Thank you!

- Heather (2/5): - I was super sad to pay$150 a night to stay here for my MIL funeral. The room was warm and we told lady at front desk and said pretty much, oh well. E we had to buy a fan from a store down the road. The ceiling in bathroom was stained and missing tiles in wall. There’s a bug trapped behind the beds that my daughter found because she was playing. It had roaches on it. Never again.

- Roberta (6/5): - On our 7-day stay, the room was not cleaned, beds were not made, nor were fresh linens provided for 3 days in a row. I had to ask on the 4th day for the beds to be made and new towels to be provided. The key cards needed to be fixed on three days to open the door. The breakfast was mediocre and often was out of items. It would have been nice to have some fresh fruit available. The one day they served oranges, they were dried up and hard.

- Karl (8/5): - Room layout odd. Too large for furnishings. Desk not positiond to work and watch TV. Room was so wide that sofa and bed oddly distant from TV. Felt like lots of wasted space in bathroom as well as bedroom area. Other brands have more efficient so more comfortable feeling.

- Zebedee (2/5): Stay from hell… Rude ass staff - We were in Refugio for a funeral. Pastor requested a late checkout and it was granted by the night staff.. The next morning the front desk called being very rude about they don’t give late checkouts being extremely rude. Then my tv didn’t work and never got help with that.. the room was very dirty and dusty with a funky smell.. They treated US like we weren’t nothing. I’d like a refund and will never stay there again/. Not worth it

- Tameka (6/5): - This hotel provided shelter and water. However, it needs renovations being what seems like the only semi quality hotel in this town. It smells really old and a bit musty. My tv didn’t work and toilet barely flushed. The room seemed clean just had that really stale/musty overwhelming odor. The shower pressure was a plus. I only stayed one night and will not return. I high tailed outta there at 7 in the morning after little sleep. Improvements are over due. Please consider Best Western.

- Verified traveler (2/5): - We were disrespected by the night staff employee Casey. We were told to leave because we were being “loud”’when we were only there for 15 minutes. Casey bags in our door aggressively and very disrespectful. There were no guest below us since our room was right above the lobby and housekeeping hallway. When we went downstairs to talk to her she was on the phone with the GM H. B they told us he would be here in an hour to address the issue. He never showed up so we packed up our bags and decided to drive 5 hours back home since we were insulted. She also accused us of smoking in the room. We were not we had our kid’s in there. She made my daughter cry and very scared to be there and that’s not okay. She should have handled the situation in a better way. The general manager never bother to call us until we called the next morning to talk go him. He never apologized for what happened and refused go refund the room. The beds were still made nothing was touched but the towels and the sink soap. General manager was very unprofessional letting an employee lie using his name “he said he didn’t care”. Conversation was recorded.

We had booked the hotel last minute due to unexpected change of plans and needed to wash a load of clothes at 10:30 pm when we checked in. We needed clean clothes for the next day. We were told the washer was not available and could go to a washateria or truck stop across the street. Not very good customer service

Or had to go to the front desk every time i left the property to be let back in my room. Bugs in the room, crickets, and roaches. this used to be a pretty nice place. it has really gone down hill.

- Melanie (8/5): - When I booked the hotel, I did not know it did not have an elevator. I arrived on a busy weekend; and all the rooms on the first floor were booked. Being a senior citizen with 2 artificial knees, it was a real challenge getting up and down those stairs. The Front Desk was very apologetic and assigned us to the largest king size suite they had on the 2nd floor. It was almost too big. The TV was too far away to watch when sitting in bed. We moved the couch away from the wall and closer to the TV so we could see it. Also, the TV remote has so many bells and whistles that it is hard to operate.

Dinay the receptionist was very polite and even provided us with recommendations on where to eat and which beach was better to visit. Located only about 35 minutes from Port A and Rockport Beach. The breakfast really blew me away with too many choices. I felt like I was at an IHOP Buffets. All in all a great experience. We know exacrtly where we will be staying when we visit the area from now on!

- Jared (10/5): 5 stars!! - It was great. Very comfortable and quiet. Even locked our keys in our truck and the front desk clerk helped find something to unlock our truck. When that was unsuccessful, she called the sheriff department for us.
