- pookipse (2/5): Horrible and disappointing! - Don't stay here! Key's don't work. Hotel smells bad. It is a terrible neighborhood. Elevator keys had glue dumped on them so they stick. The person ahead of us appeared to be renting the room by the hour. Desk clerk told us to go 15 miles away to find a decent hotel. I had my money returned but trying to get my 19,000 points back has been a nightmare. I am sorry I didn't take photos but my sister and I just wanted to get away from there.

- Emma (4/5): - overall a poor/less than average hotel experience because of the quality/cleanliness of the hotel itself. it looks so beaten up and the elevator buttons hardly work. the odor in the elevator and hallways was rhe worst part. it was a very strong stench and we couldn’t tell if it was mold, mildew, feces, dead animal, etc... luckily the room didn’t smell. despite the room being clean and tidy, the carpet by the AC unit was soaked in water, and the bathroom light didn’t work. the bathroom door handle looked like it was about to fall off as well. we asked staff if they could do anything to fix the light before we left for dinner but it was still out when we got back. hopefully the next people staying in that particular room don’t have to deal with it :( definitely wasn’t worth the amount we paid.

The breakfast had solid options and a yogurt machine. Loved the waffles. My room had everything I needed and also provided makeup remover for my wife which was cool. Can’t wait to visit next time.
- Giovanni (2/5): - Our reservation had been cancelled when we got there although it was a pay at the property reservation which had been made months in advance. The front desk was friendly and re-establish our reservation after getting the okay with the manager but then fridge in the room we were given was not working, they had no technician to fix it. We were moved to a room on the smoking floor, which smelled terrible! When we asked if we could be switched to our original room, we were told it been sold already so we had to settle for the smoking room. The furniture was covered in dust, so we had to go out and buy stuff to clean off the dust and a plug-in to help with the smell. The things available to eat for breakfast were cereal, apples, coffee/juice, egg with cheese filled patties?, sausage links and a waffle maker. Thank goodness for the waffle maker! One the second morning they added mini muffins and bread for toast. The area was not the best either, lots of homeless people hanging around. Out of all the many times we have visited San Antonio and had hotel stays, this was by far the worst experience. Unfortunately we will not be returning or recommending.

- 543jericas (2/5): Scorpion on a towel - We arrived Friday, 06-20-25, the man at front desk said we had booked a smoking room. We stated we didn’t and showed him our reservation details as they appeared on the email confirmation. He then said, “well that’s what you’re getting cause that’s all there is. We are sold out”. Even though we had booked our room weeks in advance. He then retracted and blamed Expedia even though Expedia clearly showed it was a non smoking room with 2 queen sized beds which was the 2nd issue. We got only full beds. We decided to stay after disinfecting the room with some air neutralizer. When we were leaving in the morning my wife got bit by a scorpion that was imbedded in the towel my wife used to shower. When we showed the same guy what my wife had been stung by it he said send me a picture of the bite which happened to be on her inner upper thigh. I told him we couldn’t send a picture due to the place where she got stung. He replied with “then there’s nothing we can do”. Not blaming the hotel chain just the service. Also, the halls throughout the hotel were kept without air conditioning.

This is one of the filthiest and dirtiest Best Western I have seen. Very unprofessional Staff... this Eric, Jeff, and I was told their manager are John and Aman. We reserved a suite room to this hotel ahead of time due to the location, it is closer to where we are going. Upon reservation, nothing is prompting to the client that the elevator is not working. The client needs to know that the elevator is not working so that we have a better option, most especially we have 2 elderly parents with us. We came to the hotel and was assigned a room in 3rd floor. The room has musty smell. The fridge has molds and water from the fridge is dripping on the carpet. The sofa bed, when we spread it out, it was dirty and has breadcrumbs and drinks spilled on it. Our children have allergies, so we decided to tell the staff on duty, the guy in the front desk (6/7/2025, Saturday afternoon). He said that there is no available room to transfer us that time, there is no housekeeping to clean and no maintenance to change the fridge. He then told us that we can transfer to different hotel, and he will not charge us for anything. We were able to transfer to a different branch of this hotel no problem within 30 minutes and left. The Receptionist keep apologizing when we left. We reported it to BW and was given a ticket number. Their managers, if they exist per this staff Eric, these 2 managers are gone for 2 months, and they don't know when they are coming back. This Eric told me, EVEN IF THE ROOM IS DIRTY, WITH MOLDS, BREAD CRUMS AND SPILL ON BED AND NOT CLEANED WE WILL BE CHARGED AND THATS NOT REFUNDABLE. Even after we report the problem upon arrival and inspection of the suite and asked it to be cleaned. We asked for another room and told there is no available. HE TOLD US. IF WE CAN FIND ANOTHER HOTEL (which we did) to transfer since he cannot replace or have the suite cleaned "WE WILL NOT BE CHARGED"!!! HE KEEP ON APOLOGIZING WHEN WE LEFT. BUT NOW!!!! This liar is But now they are telling us now a different story. We asked for cleaner or maintenance on arrival and inspection of the room, but he told us no one is available because it's only him is working. He even told us the Elevator is not working for 2 weeks already??? And this dirty suite with molds, foul musty order and leaking fridge with black molds inside (picture attached) is which they assigned to us was check a week ago? Aside from the daily charged they took our BW gift card too regardless of where there is clean room or nasty room, this Eric told me "NOW" its non-refundable!!! Been contacting the BW corporate but since this is going nowhere. It's all verbal, giving them everything in writing but was told these staff/managers not replying, only when they call the hotel for an answer??? How could Best western tolerate this behavior. We left the hotel within 30 minutes, same day we arrived and per their recommendation that since there is no available room to transfer, to find another hotel which we did, and yet when I called them 2 days later and asked why my card being charged for the entire 4 nights, they told me we didn't leave? They didn't even know we left, and they said they will figure out what happened because there is no note or anything about what happened to us on that day, and why we left!!! Might as well provide copy of this to Health Department!!! BBB!!! etc... They cannot make up they mind about the charged, first because they thought we are still there and didn't leave, 2nd they said we left the following day and changed the charged, now they are saying its non-refundable upon arrival whether the room is dirty, with molds and bad conditions is the "STANDARD* now. So frustrating and stressful!!!

The tv had lots of movie channels so the kids were able to pass the time while we hung out by the pool. The room was clean and had no dust or any garbage. Area had some construction but otherwise it was a great stay. Had no problems. Will be back soon.

- nabendup2025 (4/5): Not an exciting stay - 1. We checked in around 4:00pm. Initially, we were assigned the room 310. But our keys didn't work and the room couldn't be unlocked. The front desk person reprogrammed the keys twice, but still didn't work. He came upstairs, but couldn't help. 2. Then we were assigned the room 210. Here again, the keys had to be programmed twice to get the door unlocked. But more setbacks were yet to come. 3. The entire second floor hallway was very hot. We found out that the hallway a/c machines were not working, and hence the hallway windows were kept open which made the entire place very hot (while the outside temperature was hovering around 90+ degrees. 4. The room (#210) was extremely hot. We had to run the a/c machine in full force holding the thermostat level at 60 degrees, but even after 2 hours it didn't make any difference. We informed the front-desk person, he came over and pleaded helplessness. He said that he would inform the manager / owner about this matter. 5. When we went out for dinner around 7:00pm while the room was still very hot. However, upon our return around 10:00pm we found that the room was a bit cooler, and it remained like that for the rest of our stay. 6. The most annoying thing was - every time we went out and came back, we had to get the keys reprogrammed to make them work. 7. The entire place was a bit depressing, with dark wall hangings and dark colored carpet. The bathroom didn't have any exhaust, - obviously a sign of a very old structure. 8. Last but not least, we don't think we got our money's worth, and would NOT recommend this place to others.

We asked again, still no rooms clean and $30. A few words were said like if we gave you $30 magically a room would be clean. No answer. We asked to talked to someone in charge. We talked to owner over the phone and again no rooms clean and $30. He wouldn’t even listen. At 2:50 still no room clean. We said we were going to leave a bad review and he asked us to leave. We absolutely did. The owner had his worker in tears. I very highly recommend you never stay here!!!! Besides the customer bathroom was very very filthy, and with no paper supplies.

What a horrible way to do business. People are human and mistakes can be made. Instead of being money hungry, how about you show some grace.

No WiFi on the 4th floor, was informed that the router was going to be reset and it never worked for 5 days. Breakfast is old, coffee machine did not always work, same food daily that is reheated each morning. Horrible stay, horrible quality!

It’s was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. If I was associated with Best Western, I would be embarrassed to have this hotel. Words can’t do justice to how bad this hotel is.

There was significant water damage to the bathroom celling and it was visible they tried to patch the leak damage (unsuccessfully). I ended up taking pictures and showing the front desk in the AM; I was told maintenance would take a look & nothing was done about it.

One good things the King bed in the suite was very comfortable.

- Priscella (8/5): It’s a nice hotel for the price. - It’s a nice hotel for the price. I woke up with my back hurting every day so I wish the beds would be better. The rooms are roomy and everything worked great. They did however only come make our bed one time when we were there. We were there for three days.
- John (2/5): Terrible experience - We will NEVER stay at a Beat Western again. Here’s why: 1. The hotel was filthy from the moment we walked though the front doors. 2. Our bathroom had a ceiling and wall that had fresh texture and was unpainted. I made the reservation 2 weeks prior to our stay. Could we not be placed in another room? 3. If you prefer a warm shower, then you’re in luck. NO hot water. 4. We asked for another blanket and bed sheet, and were told “no, the room came with all the amenities we needed.” We explained our son was going to sleep on the couch and needed these linens. Again told no. We had 2 flat sheets on our bed with a very thin blanket in between the sheets. No comforter or even a nicer, thick blanket. Gave a sheet to our son to use on the couch. Totally ridiculous! 5. Walls must be really thin or no insulation. We heard hall nosie/outside noise all night. 6. Tried multiple times to put wall unit on “constant fan” to block out above mentioned noise. Nope. Gave up trying. We were in town for stock show and our son was showing a pig. We were exhausted from having been up almost 24 hours and ready for a good night sleep. Your hotel failed to meet this expectation and was quite expensive for the service provided.

The shower curtain had black spots on it when I got there, and they charged ME $30 for a stained shower curtain. They did not want to fix their mistake claiming they never leave anything stained when in fact it was stained otherwise I wouldn’t be complaining about! It would have been different if we were the ones who did but we weren’t! All they said was that it was the housekeepers word against mine when I know what I saw when I got there and there’s no way any of us could have left those stains in the first. SMH. It’s just not right and I think they should have resolved it the right way instead of taking my money for something they didn’t do. Trash.

He said I'm sorry we out of ......!!! I ask do you have any butter or jelly for my toast , he say NO! It wasn't because it was time for breakfast to be over, it was around 8 am , it wasn't because the hotel was full neither. When I ask to speak to the Manager the guy I'm pretty sure was the manager he said there is "NO MANAGER". I think is a shame the he got the BW franchise on his hotel. Every time I book a hotel room I go to BW thinking its going to be good. When we go for business , pleasure or just a weekend relaxation , we expect to enjoy the time at the hotel . Its NOT FREE so you expect to get something good for what we paid.
- Andrew (8/5): - Let's start with what I liked, the staff were super nice, the location was ideal for my business trip, and the pool was nice. Lots of good late night food within walking distance. But not a whole lot more to do besides eating, and drinking. If you don't rent a car, it's not far from a lot of cool stuff if you get a lyft/uber. And the room was very affordable. Things I didn't like: the location is in a rather dangerous neighborhood, especially later at night. Lots of mysterious loud noises from the outside. The exercise center is not very functional, parts were missing on the machines, which was a bummer, hopefully that gets fixed soon. And the pillows are not regular sized. Overall I'd recommend this spot if you're on a budget, and don't mind being in the hood. The hotel itself is clean, soundproof rooms, and perfectly cold upon arrival.

- Barbara (2/5): - Do NOT stay here! Booked for four nights. When checking in, there was a laundry detergent spill, verbally verified by staff, at the front counter. It remained there until I did an early check out on the second day. This was dangerously unsafe. They did not bother to clean the counter and floor. Fitness equipment broken. Pool was unsafe with a broken piece of pipe that can cut people. Reason for early checkout: Found a large cockroach in the bath and was moved to a new room. Found a used condom rapper and a gummy near the bed in the new room and was moved to yet another room. The rooms were not cleaned properly. Was told that I would get a refund but it was a complete lie. They never answered my calls nor the calls from Expedia. Man said he would fire the maid and give me a refund but that was not true. Disappointment.

We just let it go, even thought we could confirm we werent even in texas the first night and the last night we stayed at a different hotel
- marissamS193ES (2/5): Don’t waste your money - The staff is friendly, but the rooms are very out dated the tv did not work, the front desk knew of the issue but said it’s the company that is the issue. The lighting in the room is hard with just lamps, the ac unit could not keep up. The bathroom had rusted sharp metal pipe sticking out and the back door does not lock, major security issue all you have to do is pull out on it and the door opens.

Feet were black walking just from the bed to the bathroom in the 10 minutes we were there. Couldn't even put the baby down - her legs/hands/feet were black from crawling in this room. Hallways were over 85 degrees, like they were trying to save money by not running the AC at all. We checked out same day and didn't stay. So disgusting.
