Jennifer (6/5): - I like that the area was quiet. The room was clean and the temperature adjustment was not a problem. The staff was helpful and polite as well. The one big issue that made me give an average rating was that when I came for breakfast, there were fruit flies all over the pastries in the pastry cabinet! It was disgusting and nauseating! I was wary of anything else in the breakfast room after seeing that. Apparently, they appear to leave food over from the day before. The lady who was working the breakfast room was very sweet though.

Robert (10/5): Great stay for Mardi Gras !!! - This is an amazing and perfect place to stay it is clean and very nice the morning breakfast is pretty good and great lots of choices and they have a pancake making machine in which you press a button and it makes it for you. Plenty of parking and very well lighted so did not feel u safe and again clean as well as the place smells very fresh the only downside (which is not there fault ) is the trains that go by and blast the horns the hotel do provide ear plugs but to be honest unless you are the lightest sleeper you will be ok. I will be back and if you are looking for a great spot to stay this is definitely the place to book with

F (6/5): Good but the trains… - Comfortable room and pretty good breakfast but if you’re a light sleeper you will be kept awake by the half-hourly trains hooting their horns for about a minute all through the night. Beats me why they can’t use flashing red lights as a warning during night time hours. Didn’t use the pool but it looked clean and inviting.

Wendy (8/5): Just okay - We didn't check in until after midnight because the LSU game ran late. The lady who checked us in was not rude but she CERTAINLY wasn't friendly or welcoming. She didn't seem happy to be working and could have cared less about me as a hotel guest. The room was fine but the mattress sank in the middle. The white towels and shower curtain were very dingy. The laundry department definitely needs to invest in some oxiclean or bleach or maybe both. There were hairs from previous guests in the bathroom and on the shower walls. i know it's impossible to get every single hair out of a bathroom but if this shower wall would have been scrubbed and rinsed, these hairs would not have been there so it was obvious that was not done.

shandon (10/5): Exceeded my expectations! - Went on a 1 day trip to enjoy the pool with our kids and check out the free breakfast that was advertised. It was all we hoped it to be. Room was clean, pool and pool are was nice and clean. Breakfast was very exciting for my 4 year old and myself! Very nice variety of hot foods, fruits, cold foods, pastries, milks, juices. Loved it!

stefanie (4/5): - I usually come here when I visit Galveston. Reasonably priced, good breakfast, and nice staff. This time around I'm not sure why but it was hard to get towels. They only had one big towel for 4 people in the room and when I requested for more they said they were having towel shortages and had to wait all day to get towels. Rooms and around the property could be cleaner. There was a baby roach in the bathroom so that's not a good sign. In all nice people that work there and convenient location close to the beach and restaurants but next time buy more towels and clean better please.

Both nights we stayed we were woken up at 3am by a train that sounded like it was rolling down the hall way. There were several trains each day. It wasn't mentioned on the web site when we booked the room and no one mentioned it at check in. Tat would be good information to have!

Breakfast area was spacious, clean and well maintained. The biggest surprise was how close it was to train tracks. If you're a deep sleeper, you might be okay. But the trains feel compelled to blast their horns. One night there were 2 trains. The next, none. So it seems to be inconsistent. Maybe ear plugs will help.

It's why they have a bowl of earplugs on the front desk. Believe me they won't help. If you can sleep through a nuclear blast you will be fine.

James W (10/5): Overnight motorcycle ride stay - Was riding my motorcycle from Monroe to Baton Rouge for a bike ride the next day. Grounds were well lit and safe. Hotel allowed me to park my bike under cover which was nice. Chantorya who checked me in was new but extremely nice and helpful. My room was updated, clean and very comfy. Bed and pillows were perfect. Bathroom was very clean. Shower water pressure was a touch weak but still nice. Only complaint was my room was hot when I arrived so I turned the ac on and went out for dinner. When I returned it was cool and kept me cool all night. They even give out ear plugs at the desk and I wondered why but I learned why at 11:07pm when a train come through. It didn't last but a min so it wasn't bad. Otherwise it was quiet all night. Breakfast was your typical continental items but was all good. I would stay here again over staying in Baton Rouge because of price and convenience plus you are only 20 mins away from the downtown BR area. Definitely would stay here again.

The water ran all over the floor and onto the rug in the bedroom. The beds were comfortable. We only stayed one night , came in late and left early.

The lady at the front desk came to my room, made pictures and moved me to a different room. She was very kind and even offered to help me move my stuff. I always stay here when I’m in town for work but I’m not sure I will stay again. This was just the grossest thing!

Anh-Dao (4/5): - The pillows. There are only 3 pillows for a king-sized bed, and 2 of them are made of the plastic kind. The kind of plastic that makes noise when you squish it. On top of that it does not feel cool and soothing when held. I was not used to that type of pillow.

Stanley (8/5): Southern Coast Tour - The hotel accommodations were very good. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was hot and very good. The area had many interesting things to see. The Mississippi River is a short walk from the hotel. The only complaint was that the windows had a green mold or algae growing on it.

Ben (6/5): - The hotel itself is nice and clean but there are trains that pass by almost every hour and since the hotel is on an intersection, the trains are required to blow their horn. You really can't sleep through the night unless you bring ear plugs. Maybe if the rooms had a white noise feature or provided ear plugs it would be better for customers who didnt know this was an issue.

The floor near the toilet and shower gave way when you stepped on it. Afraid my foot would go through at any time. Oh, and the water was brown. I left a day early and booked elsewhere.

When we 1st arrived, I had a small issue about a fee I wasn’t notified about upon booking BUT the staff was so AMAZING, I couldn’t really be upset about it. Everything was clean & well put together. The only thing that we disliked was a weird smell the room had but I honestly think that was from the room being redone or something because the walls seem to be freshly painted and the carpet looked new. That was genuinely my only complaint. It’s overall a pretty nice place to stay. The property wasn’t bad at all!

Malissa (8/5): - I was not expecting a handicapped room when I booked this online. The description doesn't tell you during the reservation process. This is a huge factor to consider because my husband is 6'4" and about 300 pounds. The shower area was not a normal tub and shower, rather just an opening level with the floor. The shower height was awful, even for me being 5'8". Had I known the last available room was a handicap suite, I would have looked elsewhere. I even called to verify the room and they said it was the last one, but never mentioned it being a handicap suite. There should be something on the booking that tells the customer! I also booked online with payment through PayPal because my debit card was lost just a few days prior. When I arrived, I was told there would be a deposit required and wasn't able to use PayPal for the hold. I also think some of the front desk employees should be a bit more pleasant when guests first arrive. Overall, the location isn't pleasant and requires a great distance to attractions.
