- Verified traveler (2/5): - Worst experience, had check in and then left within 5 minutes because they don’t have common electric things there like sockets etc and other thing lobby was very massive congestive and smelly the receptionist was smoking and drinking, stairs having a very small space and no elevator to carry luggage for up portions

- happyLiliv (10/5): Great! - Stayed at the hotel Djem for three nights in the triple room in Dec 19 - 1 adult, 2 teenagers (13 & 15yo). The hotel is very well located in a small street off the Blue Mosque, very typical and quiet. The staff at the hotel is very nice, warm And super welcoming. They gave us very good advices and were always super helpful. Room was very clean and linen great. Will come back for sure, felt home, perfect size for this big city -) thanks a lot Hôtel Djem!!
- Emin Abdülkadir (10/5): Konum, konfor, hijyen, şirinlik, herşey mükemmel - Resepsiyonist Yıldırım bey işinin tam anlamıyla ehli, her anlamda en güzel şekilde yardımcı oldu, biz gezerken ikram olarak meyveden kuruyemiş tabağına kadar düşünüp odamıza bıraktı, bu elbette bu oteli temsilen yapılan bir iş olduğu için böyle kaliteli bir insanın çalıştığı otel de her anlamda kaliteliydi. Çok memnun kaldık bir daha geleceğiz inşallah.

- Uyuni78 (6/5): Just ok, a bit run down - Next time I'm in Istanbul I will stay somewhere else. My wife and me stayed for two nights in Djem hotel and weren't impressed. The room was a bit run down and the bed, despite a good size bed, wasn't very comfortable. Location is not bad as it is in the back part of the Blue mosque. I have to say I've been to better hotels in Istanbul for similar prices.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Djem, a real gem in the heaetnof sultanajmet - Great location and room. Service from the staff, especially Yildrum (hppe I spelt that right) was exemplary. Room size was great and decor was very nice but a little dated, we liked it but won't be to everyones taste.
- tmfmrec (10/5): Family holidays - Really nice place to stay with kids. The location is unbeatable. The room is confortable and with the topical Persian carpets. My only complaint is with the breakfast, maybe could be nice to add more healthy and fresh food.
- rolf (8/5): Toppenläge - Absolut toppenläge nära Sultanahmet med "alla" sevärdheter inom fem minuters promenad. Familjärt med hjälpsam personal, rejält rum med stort badrum. Enkel men ok frukost, väldigt lugnt och tyst förutom att böneutroparen drog igång vid sextiden varje morgon.
- Jodie (10/5): Excellent service, best location - Perfect location for sight seeing in istanbul. Literally 2min walk from all the main attractions. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend for anyone who's visiting and wants somewhere close to everything. Staff were more than happy to help us with transfers to the airport. The hotel provide a shuttle service. Also they let us leave our luggage there for the day as we had a night time flight.

- daverxc40 (8/5): location and customer service - Got a day room here during a 21 hour lay over. The hotel is located in Old Town section. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. I can't thank them enough. The staff was very helpful in recommending places to see, a seafood restaurant to eat at and a spa to visit. When you don't have a lot of time to do research, recommendations become vital. The location was perfect to see multiple attractions. Location is everything when you have limited time. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I felt very safe in the neighborhood too.

Номер уютный, везде чистенько, достаточно большой, кровать кингсайз) мальчикам на рецепшене огромное спасибо! Решают любые вопросы, очень доброжелательные! Говорят по-русски! В общем с удовольствие вернёмся в этот отель!

- fernando (10/5): Nice and great location - The hotel is small but the room we had was very comfortable, clean and quite just by the blue mosque wall. The staff was very attentive, and although some did not speak english they were very gentle and helpful. The hotel has a fabulous location at the sultanahmet square. Would recommend and would come back!!
- Dasarp (6/5): Location is the Best Part - The hotel is in close proximity to many historic destinations in the heart of Istanbul. The rooms are somewhat cozy. Front desk staff is great but housekeeping is absolutely terrible. The room was not cleaned until asked for and the staff rolled their eyes when requested. The same staff works in kitchen during breakfast and they are equally horrible there too. They don't understand English and have an attitude with guests. Breakfast choices never change. Internet connection was slow and did not work half the time. Hotel has potential but management needs to shape up. I have stayed at cheaper places with better service and amenities.

The only thing I would suggest, is to update the lobby photos in the adds, as it causes an "initial mistrust" for the difference. Thanks for your hospitality

- paulsN8271KL (10/5): An absolute gem - A fantastic location and run by lovely helpful staff. My wife and daughters stayed here for a few days this week and could not speak more highly of the place. The room was beautifully decorated and was a spacious 3 bed room. Breakfast was offered as an extra and was delicious, very reasonably priced, nothing was too much trouble, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh dates on the last day alongside Turkish delight and Turkish coffee! Our hosts were superb, pointing out the best sights to see and ordering a taxi back to the airport as well. It is so close to everything, just a stone’s throw from the Hippodrome and 5 minutes behind the Blue Mosque. Will definitely return next time we are in Istanbul.
- teos519 (2/5): Non_professionalist - I made the booking straight with email contact with the Djem hotel on 25th December for 2 days 26th&27th. They ask me for our passport numbers and straight they send me the invoice and booking confirmation to my email that everything is ok and they are waiting me. I arrive on 26th after 8 hours of driving by car and the guys from reception told me that they made mistake on the booking confirmation and its not possible to stay in the hotel and they offer me a more expensive price in order to can sleep there!!! Shame on them!!! Thanks God that in this area have much better hotels, cheaper and more professional people that in 2 hours of searching we find one...
- stc1827 (10/5): Amazing Hotel; Amazing location - Could not have been happier with our stay at Hotel Djem. We stayed in the 2nd building down the street and fell in love with the decor of the place. Our room was HUGE and our windows looked out, up towards the Blue Mosque; it was quite a spiritual experience to hear the Call to Prayer, even at 3am! The hotel is tucked away down a side street that leaves you about a 10-15 mins walk from the major sites - Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, and Topkapi. It was also very easy to get to the neighborhood of Beyoglu, which is across the river, and a much younger, more liberal area (we took the tram). All in all, would 100% recommend Hotel Djem, the staff was amazing, the breakfast was great. no complaints!

- AlexanderVido (10/5): Absolutely Fantastic - The hotel was amazing. The staff was extremely helpful, the breakfast was good and plentiful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a best location ever, close to the tram station, several large mosques, restaurants, and the fame bazar. The street is quiet and just a few steps away from a nice public square, Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque and other attractions.

The room was colorfully decorated in national style and nicely aromatized. Our windows were directly facing minarets of Sultan Ahmet mosque. Breakfast with Turkish dishes was excellent. Proper choice if you like to get in touch with Turkish culture.

It's a great location -- quiet, at the end of a small street, but also -- close to the primary tourist sites I was there to see. The manager was tremendously helpful, too. Recommend it highly.
- Smurf59 (8/5): A Gem in Istanbul - The hotel is well located, right next to the Blue Mosque and a few minutes away from all the major attractions as well as the tram. The rooms are beautifully decorated and large. The communal areas are decorated with beautiful carpets and art work. There were plenty restaurants close by for dinner. We found the staff very helpful in advising us on how to get around the city. Breakfast was also very good with a big selection.

If it is a 5 star hotel you are looking for this is not the place for you, but if you want a lovely clean and comfortable room, very friendly and accomodating owners, good choice at breakfast (cold buffet), and probably the no.1 location in Istanbul then this is the place to stay
- DC-Ginnie (10/5): Hotel Djem is a GEM! - What a special place this hotel is! Tucked away on a quaint side street, but only a five minute walk to the Blue Mosque, Djem is exactly what I was looking for. Filled with art, tapestries and carved wood, the hotel staff is warm and welcoming. Before I arrived, I arranged for transport from the airport (very reasonable price) and, as a single woman traveler, I felt very safe. Ask them to take you to the family's shop with beautiful traditional and modern rugs, shoes, purses and other items - you will not be disappointed! Clean, charming rooms in a lovely "townhouse" with cozy beds, air conditioning and modern bathrooms.
- dippy_sal (8/5): A Gem by the Blue Mosque - This really is an amazing little gem in a back street behind the Blue Mosque. We came off a cruise ship and caught the tram to Sultanahmet and it was a 5 min walk - beats taking a taxi in the rush hour! We were very early for our scheduled check in, but Omir at the reception desk was really helpful and offered us breakfast as our room was not ready. We were told that our room was in the annex, a few minutes walk down the street. Initially we were disappointed not to be in the main building, but once we opened the door to our room, on the second floor, with balconies facing the Blue Mosque, and front to the Bosporus, our reservations were soon alleviated. The views were absolutely fabulous - we could almost touch the Blue Mosque! The room was spacious and bright, although it would appear that some previous occupants had taken the phone, so no way to communicate with the main hotel!!! There was a safe, but again, someone had locked it whilst open, so we couldn't use it. Reception staff were excellent at dealing with our requests, like no clothes hangers in the wardrobe. Free WiFi was good. No English speaking TV at all, but then we weren't in Istanbul to watch TV, although we generally do like to watch the news. Everything was in slacking distance. Thoroughly recommend this place!
- Paleflier (10/5): Short Break - An excellent hotel. Rooms are good with air con. The hotel backs onto the Blue Mosque so early morning calls from the minaret ensure you will be awake. But you will be in the heart of historic and cultural Istanbul. A short walk will take you to the Topkapi Palace, the Hajia Sofia, and the Basillica Cistern. The managers, Cafer, Ersin and Ömer were excellent and most helpful. Breakfasts were very good. Our stay was very good. Definitely will come back and will recommend.
- CER1978 (10/5): Sultanahmet's best place to stay - You'd be hard pressed to find a better place to stay. At a very reasonable cost, the staff at Hotel Djem were extremely helpful and provided us everything we needed. Omer and Cafer always greeted us with a smile and provided us with great info on where to go and what to do. The hotel is located next to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Hippodrome, and Topkapi palace is a short walk. Free wi-fi in the rooms and a great breakfast spread each morning. I'm returning here on my next stay to Istanbul.
