- Glenn (6/5): Needs renovation - The floor was very dirty; the carpet had not received anything but a cursory vacuuming. It is an old hotel and we were told that it is due for remodeling.

- edward (10/5): Nice Hotel Bad Mattresses - Wry nice facility clean and quiet! The only thing I can say is they definitely need new Mattresses they are very hard and uncomfortable!
- Jeff (4/5): - This facility is newer. Our room, a king bed and couch, was on the second floor but there was no elevator. I am a senior with walking issues so I asked for first floor. The room was down graded to a two bed room which was not a problem. The problem was that the room, although newer had some issues. The carpet was fraying and had a cigarette burn. The bed was the most uncomfortable and hard bed that I have ever slept on. Also I reached for the outlet behind the night stand and was dirty with dust and debris.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Smelly and uncomfortable - One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at, not worth the $189/ night I paid. I can’t believe it has such good reviews. Yes, the front staff was nice and the room was clean, and it was dated (which doesn’t matter to me). But, the entire hotel had a strong chemical smell, like it was just fumigated or had the carpets chemically cleaned; the smell gave my daughter a horrible headache. Worse yet, the mattresses were cheap and uncomfortable, pokey and noisy with no give or padding. In summary, we stayed here so we could rest on a long road trip, none of us had a good night sleep and we continued on our journey unrefreshed, failing every hotels primary duty.

- Brian (4/5): - In the year 2025 how can there be no elevators? I can’t believe it is legal. Having to carry luggage up a flight of stairs is a huge liability exposure to say the least.

When we stripped our beds to check for bugs(a precaution we always take, the mattress had stains ! That was disturbing we flipped it over and remade the bed , pillow left us wanting more support !!!!
- Nancy (10/5): - Although this hotel is nothing fancy, the front desk employees were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. I asked for a quiet room and even though the room was directly over the dining area, I never heard a thing. I thought the bed was going to be too firm, but slept like a baby. Breakfast was the usual buffet, but it’s free so no complaints. The only complaint I have is that they advertised the ability to “cast” premium channels from your phone to the tv but found out the tv wasn’t connected to the internet. Limited channels available otherwise. Would definitely stay here again

- Limtrav2019 (4/5): Big disappointment - This hotel needs a complete remodel and refurb Advertised as having a pool and hot tub both non functional and have been for months++ Breakfast very different at weekends from weekdays check times carefully as little information given NO RECYCLING still using all plastic utensils/ cups and bottles even “ turtle strangling” plastic around the plastic bottles Come on Best Western try and save our planet! Rooms are old and in need of complete refurb very musty and unventilated with noisy fridges and old AC units Shower only in all rooms tub baths changed to drain only Plus for the towels which did seem new Staff try their best but don’t seem to know how to improve things Maybe as there is little choice in this area no one is interested

- I4432YCmichelleh (4/5): clean, but beds very old - This hotel was clean, but the room we were in was very outdated. We were in town for a cheer competition at the college and was hoping for a good nights sleep the night before. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and kind. The room was clean, but the beds were terrible. I could feel the springs through the mattress for both of them (and this was the case for several other families we were traveling with). They also squeaked every time we moved, even when my daughter moved. The complimentary toiletries in the shower were completely empty. We had hoped to swim, and although the pool area was clean and well maintained, the water and room were freezing. The hot tub was broken (which we knew already from the website), but that could have counteracted the cold of the pool water. The breakfast was ok. You could make your own waffles, they had bread for toast, premade breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, and eggs. There were some pre-packaged muffins, but they were very dry and tasted stale. It was nice that they had coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and juice available 24/7. For $200 a night, I had much higher expectations for basic amenities and the beds. Unfortunately I would not return to this hotel unless they did some updates to the basic comforts of their rooms.
- Madonna (4/5): - We loved the area around the hotel everything u could need was all very close by but curb appeal and ease of access to everything could b nicer. The hotel needs many updates. The beds were super uncomfortable. My daughter picked up a towel that she dropped when we 1st arrived and upon picking it up it was filthy like the area hadnt been moped or cleaned in a while. I would never pay the top price for them as it was more motel than it was hotel. We did pay a higher price for convenience of location to a gymnastics meet and for the pool and spa. The hot tub was not working the pool could b better cleaned. The bathroom was small and the tub had little water pressure and drained extremely slow. However, the lady when we checked in was very friendly and welcoming but that was the only staff we seen during our stay. We did not get a chance to try the breakfast as we had 2 leave early for gymnastics meet but it looked delicious with quite the variety. Will not stay again next year when we retun to the area.

I was in the town eight months earlier same note if they’re not gonna fix it they should remove the amenities from the website
- steven (2/5): No hotub, bed horrible - Hot tub is out of order and has been for months now but is amenity on website. It was the reason we chose the hotel. Mattress on bed was horrible. I could feel the metal from the platform. Multiple guests also complained about ice on sidewalks even though they had buckets of ice melt by exit doors. I think they expect guests to do it

When we went to go swimming the pool area was freezing cold. We asked if it was supposed to be that way and were told no but the owners are the only ones that can adjust the heat.
- David (8/5): Best Western Dunkirk NY Snow Job - We didn’t plan on staying at Best Western in Dunkirk NY but were forced to exit I-90 west bound due to closure of freeway due to snow storm. The short notice booking charge for first night was $300.00 CAD and second night $198.00 USD plus tax for an average room.with kingsize bed. Honestly the pricing was ridiculously expensive but no choice due to weather

Chill out fussy grandma, don't chase guests out to their car in the AM. You were a negative note on a great stay!

- NaturalToBeGone (8/5): Good value during fall travel season - A fine stay at a reasonable price. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff at check-in and at breakfast were friendly. Just by comparison, though, I think we were "spoiled" by the more extensive free breakfast at the Best Western in Hammondsport NY that included scrambled eggs and bacon, as well as waffles and the regular cereals, etc. This BW breakfast in Dunkirk was certainly satisfactory, with its pancakes, cereals, and yogurts, etc., given that it was included in a quite reasonable price for the stay, just not as great a start to a day.

Fresh fruit, granola bars and cookies in lobby at no charge. There is an Applebee's and Tim Hortons right out front of the hotel as is a WellNow Urgent Care. Our visit in and out in 1/2hr. Would stay again without a doubt. They are pet friendly too!!

- deniselW961LT (2/5): Dont stay here! - Please don’t stay at this hotel. It is super dirty. The carpet is filthy. The curtains are filthy. The bedding was old with wear and tear and some spots of I don’t know what. The bed was hard as a rock and squeaked whenever you roll over. The air conditioning didn’t work and it was so hot that it was difficult to sleep. The bathroom was small, didn’t have a fan and the lighting was incredibly dim. The bathtub didn’t have a plug so you couldn’t relax in a bath after a long drive. The entire room was dingy and gave the overall feeling of being unkempt. I really didn’t get much rest in this room. It was very uncomfortable and it was damp smelling which made my allergies go crazy. Ive stayed in way nicer hotels for cheaper. They charged over $200 a night and it wasn’t worth that. Next time I will sleep in my car rather than stay at this place again. I give it negative 5 stars. Just horrible!!
- thumperrice (10/5): Close to Fredonia - This is a comfortable stay and down the road from Fredonia. It is connected to the Applebees parking lot, so something close by to eat after traveling. I wish breakfast had more options, but it is still a decent breakfast before getting on the road.

- Explorer692859 (2/5): Do Not recommend - First, I was told only upon arrival that they did not have an elevator. The room was dirty. The bed should have been replaced years ago. Could not get a good nights sleep. This hotel needs an update, and staff trained in how to really clean a room.

I will never understand why hotels are built on top of an interstate. How do they expect the people on the back side to sleep?! I asked for front side but it was full. That said, they did make the change quickly and with no issue. The beds were rock hard and nothing seemed entirely clean, but it could be that everything is just old and rundown.

There is no elevator the stairs were a bit steep. The cable kept going out and the bed was springy and killed my back. The bathroom had splotches on the wall and the toilet seemed as if it was flushing all the way to the lake with how long it took for the water to go down. Needles to day i was not impressed with what was suppose to be a 2.5 star hotel. Not to mention the price was very steep for the lack of quality.

The pool is tiny, dirty and immediately visible through a giant window in the lobby/ front desk area. No fitness center. The continental breakfast was typical low end chow.

- ThePickledPeddler (10/5): Best Hotel in Town - I am from Dunkirk but live several hours away now. My husband and I visit once or twice a year. We stay at The Best Western whenever possible. It is right off the Thruway but there is not a ton of street noise in the rooms and it is set back from the main road, so it feels somewhat secluded. The windows have big, heavy curtains, which also block out some noise and make the room dark for sleeping. The price is always reasonable and there are often various discounts available. Parking is free and plentiful, even for RVs and large vehicles and once we know our room location, we can usually park right outside it; making loading in and out a breeze. There a plenty of restaurants and store within walking distance if you're sick of driving when you get there and it's about a mile from the beach. Breakfast and high-speed internet are included and we take advantage of the coffee and other beverages available during your entire stay. My main priority for choosing this hotel originally was that it is the only one in the area with a year-round indoor pool and hot tub and I love to take a swim every morning. But now I just see it as an added bonus.

- Dragon2075 (4/5): Not a great hotel - The hotel is very dated. The bathroom floors were not clean- you could see where the corners were covered in dirt. The stairwells were not clean. The room had an old, musty smell. The breakfast was not great- if you did not go when it opened at 6am, there was no yogurt. The orange juice ran out. Eggs were heated in plastic pouches. This was not a great experience.

- Eric (10/5): - I've stayed here many times while my daughter's in college. Nice staff. Hot tub, reasonable price. The breakfast is mediocre (Jimmy Dean sandwiches) but this time I started in rm 116 and it was the worst mattress ever. Like plywood. My back was killing me and I barely slept. Please update it.
- Smikolainis (8/5): Overall fine for 1 night - Only issue was room had a very musty smell. Bearable for 1 night. Hotel is quite old and dated. King bed comfortable. Quiet but not facing highway. Breakfast good. Rooms clean.

- Stuart (4/5): - Unfortunately the beds were very uncomfortable and the TV did not work. We called the desk and they told us to try and wiggle the wires, but that did not do a thing. We were there for 2 nites with no TV. Also the dust in the room was an inch deep. No maid service at all. I'm told that you have to request maid service if you want it. No one told us that. And as for the free breakfast. I guess when we got down to it nothing was left. and that was about 8 in the morning.
- Paula (10/5): - First I believe they over charged me for the two booked rooms. Yes I know it was eclipse weekend but what Expedia quoted and what I paid was a vast difference. The rooms were nice but had not been dusted recently. The staff very pleasant, and accommodating. The location was excellent with access to dining and local history.

- Catherine (10/5): - The day and night staff were extremely accommodating. I will be returning for many more years for the college experience. The beds were hard, but the friendly staff and awesome breakfast made up for any other shortfalls.
- Peter (6/5): - The Bed in room 125 was TERRIBLE - there was such a huge dip in the side of the bed it didn’t feel safe to sleep on. The heat was hard to regulate- it was either too hot or too cold.
