Guest Reviews
- Denise (8/5): Perfect stay for the perfect wedding! - Great location, very clean, very friendly staff! Breakfast was a wonderful offering included in the price as well! Pool had not been cleaned yet, unheated and no hot tub.
- brian (9/5): Came in late, easy check in with a friendly staff member at the counter. - I appreciated the front desk for their friendliness, the room for its cleanliness and the location for value. Everything was good.
- Samuel (8/5): Parfait pour une étape entre San Francisco et Lake Tahoe. - Environnement. Staff sympa. Rien
- Mor Moshe (5/5): -

- Debra (7/5): Would return again. - Staff were friendly. Breakfast was great. Could not figure out the themostat (it was 3 am and didn't want to call)...
- Steffen (8/5): -
- Terry (8/5): - Room
- Agnoletto (8/5): -
- Alvin (9/5): - Breakfast
- Hana (9/5): - There could be at least one more table in the dining area
- Malinois (9/5): Enjoyable! - Staff was friendly and accommodating!
Coffee pods coffee maker! N/A
- Richard (7/5): - Friendly staff, clean room The TV lost satellite signal
Breakfast was a little bare not alot of choices
- Vera-Lynn (9/5): - Pet friendly, and clean.
- Jeremy (10/5): - Staff was easygoing and kind. The place was very clean and organized.
- Delrio (8/5): Decent price and Good for a short stay - Small, clean and easy to access. Our bathtub drainage was slow and the water level in the tub stayed at a constant puddle when we showered.
- Stephen (4/5): - Some electrical outlets weren’t working. The HVAC heater didn’t work. Fortunately the night manager found a couple of space heaters. They couldn’t provide additional blankets, so we were still cold. We had stayed in this room before and it was fine. So I don’t know what happened.
- Ruhland (7/5): Would stay again - Staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Room was surprisingly quiet as it was closest to the road (and thankfully it's not a busy road). Location is nice amongst the trees and only about 20 -30 minutes from downtown S. Lake Tahoe. We had a suite so there was plenty of room for 2 people and 2 large dogs. I like the additional sink and counter in the master bedroom and the bedroom was super spacious (with a king bed). There were plenty of coffee pods for coffee machine Bed pillows were not that comfortable, the bed itself could use updating. There were no extra blankets provided and the top cover for the bed was a little thin. It's possible they would provide blankets upon request, but I didn't ask. The heater didn't seem to work and was blowing cold air
- Diana (10/5): What a great comfortable welcoming stay-the pool was the highlight and the extremely friendly staff made me and my Pyle - Friendly staff , they were very welcoming, the room was comfy and clean the bed was so comfy and the pillows were perfect the bathroom was clean and the water pressure was awesome -the thing that stood out the most was how cool they were about the pool they turned on the heater just for me and my daughter and made us feel so welcome that’s not always the case for us . I absolutely loved my stay here- can’t get any better Tahoe an hr away Sly Park and jenkinson and the area is beautiful The only thing is there’s no Taco Bell close by lol I can’t complain about anything it was awesome
- Battsetseg (7/5): It is just ok - Location was good Breakfast wasn’t that good. Also, room AC and carpet was too old like noisy AC and smelly carpet.
- Marek (7/5): -
- Adriana (10/5): Agradable - El desayuno estuvo bien
- Teresa (8/5): - Did not have breakfast at motel.
- Qiangbing (7/5): - The room is clean The AC is very noisy, the breakfast has little choices
- Walter (6/5): - Room did not get clean
- Hemant (10/5): Good location and comfortable accommodations on the way to South Lake Tahoe - professional staff, comfortable sheets, water pressure in the shower, decent fresh breakfast with option to take out. Location is also good, near to grocery stores and restaurants. The AC was too loud
- Susan (10/5): -
- Leah (9/5): A great value - The location was right in the middle of town. The breakfast was good. The employees kept the area clean There was a squeaking noise from the top floor
- Mark (8/5): Comfortable, clean place to stay for Apple Hill activities! - My son and I stayed here after chopping down our Christmas tree at a nearby farm. I made a reservation for two rooms to accommodate my daughter and her family as well. The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable, and the noise level in the rooms was very quiet. Especially noteworthy were the blackout curtains in the room which truly blacked out the light! Bathrooms were fine. We didn't partake in the breakfast which is complimentary. Lastly, the location was very pretty and close to Apple Hill and its many attractions (and tree farms!) Really, everything was fine. At $200 per night, though, I wouldn't say it was a great value. Beds were comfortable and linens nice. No complaints!
- Shane (10/5): Comfortable warm home feeling that I could recommend to a friend or family! - Loved the clean and welcome feeling! The weirdos outside the back window.
- Cynthia (8/5): - Location Price, and breakfast
- Kathy (9/5): Very nice place to stay in Applehill - It's very clean, comfortable and convenient location. Has had some nice remodeling done. Tub wouldn't fill to give a baby bath:-/
- Craig (9/5): - Tiffany at the front desk was particularly helpful, supportive, and efficient! A bit pricey?
- Susan (8/5): We would stay again if in the area. - Rooms were simple but clean and met our needs. The staff we encountered were super friendly & helpful. The free breakfast with several choices was a nice surprise and the dining area was comfortable and clean.
- Patricia (7/5): -
- Lynette (8/5): -
- Mark (10/5): -
- Dionne (10/5): -
- Marissa (4/5): - Location Thin pillows, they didn’t give us more than two blankets though we had two kids and I needed more for warmth and weight. The beds are doubles. TV programs didn’t work except a few cable channels.
- teresa (10/5): - Room was spacious, clean quiet. Dog friendly. Centrally located . Cute town in the trees.
- Theresa (10/5): -
- Araiza (6/5): Wish I slept better. Don't stay in room 111 - Bed was comfortable and good water pressure in the shower. The roof above our room was extremely squeaky. We had a difficult time sleeping because the person about us was too loud. The floor was squeaky anytime the person walked around.
- Kortne (8/5): - The rooms here are HUGE! Clean, close to highway and grocery stores/food down the road. Staff is friendly. Quick check in, free parking is a plus and good WiFi. I will return here when I’m in the area again!
- James (9/5): Especially grateful for the help I received from the morning desk clerk. When it was time to go, I was shocked to discov - Simple, clean, and low cost lodging for the night. Ample free parking even though the Inn was completely booked for the evening. Employees were very nice and helpful. Breakfast selection could have been better. Room was sparsely decorated (but fit all our needs).
- Justin (10/5): - Breakfast was really good. Staff was great.
- Lorraine (9/5): Stay was great. Don't like the double charge on my debit card. Please correct. - Please take the double charge on my card off. We only stayed one night.
- Laura (8/5): - Overall good experience!
- Jeff (10/5): - Check in was very easy. The location allows for RV parking in the back for trucks and trailers.
- Darryl (10/5): - The trailer parking is the reason i choose this hotel. It would be beneficial to know which drive to enter beforehand. If you plull into the main parking lot it can be hard to get while pulling a trailer. The bedwas comfortable and the ac was cold. The water pressure and temperature was awesome. Nice staff.
- Frank (10/5): - Nice clean room
- Russell (8/5): Super friendly staff. - Very friendly front desk staff. Room of spacious bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Not a big fan of laminate floors and also a guy walking around upstairs was noisier than I had hoped. Overall a good trip. We would stay there again.
- Lynda (8/5): - Place was clean and nice. The staff was very accommodating
- Rosalyn (10/5): - Great place to stay near the Rubicon trail.
- Antoinette (10/5): - Staff pleasantly polite and friendly
- Pam (8/5): -
- Corinne (9/5): - Loved the room. Very comfortable bed, spacious.
- Jean-Christophe (7/5): -
- Aurva (9/5): Great hotel to lodge on the way to Lake Tahoe - Really nice hotel in a lovely town just an hour away from Lake Tahoe. My family and I enjoy lodging in Best Western hotels, so this one didn't disappoint. Very glad that we booked the last king suite available, which has a mini kitchen, extra sink, and extra bed! Although not a deal breaker for us, the breakfast room has a fully automatic pancake maker, which keeps jamming anytime someone uses it. So, we always need an employee to run the machine. First time seeing one, so heads up for anyone eating here.
- Orvil (10/5): - Very nice stay
- Virgil (9/5): Superb -
- Stacy (6/5): Great staff, but for the price, they need to clear the smoke and clean up their act. - The staff were all fantastic. Helpful, available and friendly. The property is run down, not well kept. The rooms all need a major overhaul. Some of the floors have been replaced but the light switches lampshades and curtains all smell like 100 years of cigarette smoke. They need a complete overhaul. The tubs except maybe a few, should be replaced by walk in showers. No one uses tubs anymore. Not a good value for the price.
- Tyson (8/5): Good place to stay for a night - Stayed here one night before the Rubicon Trail. It was a good room, breakfast was lacking and didn't start until 7:00am and could have been skipped. One of the best options in a town with only a few.
- ASproulAbroad (10/5): Small Town BW - great stay! - Needed a one night stay while in the area - this BW was roomy and clean! Employees were kind and helpful. Conveniently located off Hwy 50. If you are a light sleeper, ask for an up stairs room as the floors are a little creaky. Breakfast was minimal, but enough to start the day! We will definitely return if we are in the area again.
Be sure to grab lunch at the local Burger Barn down the road or spend the day at nearby Jenkinson Lake!
- Mary (8/5): It was fine for a one night stay - Convenient. Room could hear noise from highway.
Toilet paper was long distance from toilet
Breakfast ended at 9 on Sunday so we missed it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): So how a little disappointment - Asked for refill of body wash dispenser twice but no response. We were not in the room during the day, but at night it was impossible to sleep with the loud air conditioner.
- patrick a (10/5): - Great staff
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - Great staff on all shifts, a great place for the area for comfort and accessibility.
- Alvina (10/5): - It was a short stay, but is was enjoyable!
- David (10/5): - Good BW hotel. Clean rooms, good beds and a decent breakfast
- Grant (10/5): - The room was clean. The staff was very kind and welcoming. Breakfast was good with a few different options and parking was close and convenient.
- Christine (9/5): Wish stay more time then few days short - Very nice
- tony (8/5): Good value in the area! - Good clean and quiet hotel with good service, excellent value for the money.
- Kathy (6/5): No toilet in the lobby available for the guests. - Regular check in time was at 4:00 pm which is unusually late. When we requested an early check in there was a charge of $35. I had asked for an early check in at 12 but when we got there about 12:45 our room was not ready, I needed to use the toilet after the long drive there, there was no toilet available for guests, she wouldn’t let me use the one in my room while they where getting it ready. She ended up not charging the $35 fee but still not up to par.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (10/5): - This property had excellent customer service and a nice breakfast included (pancakes, cereal, toast etc.).
- Mary (2/5): Poor hotel service which impacted by time there - Experience was ruined by the staff lack of concern about the phone - a response to use the hotel phone which would not work for long distance. I recently stayed at your property, and unfortunately, my experience did not meet the standards I expected.
To begin with, the trash around the property—especially near our room—was concerning. There were bottles and cans on the ground, and although we requested that the area be cleaned, it remained unsightly, and even more trash appeared the next morning.
Another major inconvenience was that my cell phone, which uses AT&T service, did not work at your location. When I asked the front desk staff about this, I was told by two individuals to "go to the parking lot" to get reception. This response was both unhelpful and unprofessional.
The complimentary breakfast was also disappointing. The food, particularly the muffins and breads, appeared to be several days old, and the overall presentation was subpar.
I hope you will take this feedback seriously and address these issues for the sake of future guests. I would appreciate a response from management acknowledging these concerns. I expect a credit and I have left if my reservation was not pre-paid. The cell phone service response was very unprofessional and I did see other guests using their phone in the parking lot.
- Monica (10/5): - Check in was a snap! Breakfast was good. Get there early if possible. Clean and friendly!
- Monica (10/5): - There were two hosts, a man and a woman. They were busy, accommodating and personable. It was a great experience!
- Terese (6/5): - Not sure about this place as I saw several unhoused people smoking on the premises... why weren't they discouraged by property manager? Made me feel uncomfortable h bot safe to leave a window or sliding glass door open while I was away or sleeping. Air conditioning was sooo noisy & kept me up all night. Also the "free breakfast" is a joke they only have enough food for maybe 30 people. Its pretty much first come first serve... then when it runs out thats it... no more food. The guy just hides in his little room. No clean plates. No more coffee. Nothing. Then front desk clerk lied to me about a late check out of 12pm. Check out is normally 11. I just needed an extra hour. She lied & said someone was checking in at Noon. They didnt. I witnessed it because Inwas still there in another family members room. I think this property is dead most times. Therefore they only staff 1 person at desk. 1 person for breakfast service. 2 maids. There is NO customer service here because they are under staffed.
- Bill (7/5): Good - fruit at the breakfast was poor, the rest was fine, some one did come by and ask if we needed anything while leaving breakfast but too late. pillows could be updated.to memory foam
- april (10/5): - Clean and friendly
- Tiberio (10/5): - Staff extremely friendly and helpful. If we needed something, it would not take long before we got it. Thanks for all your help, you made the stay even better. :)
- Apodaca (5/5): Passable - The patio outside the room. The pictures are NOT what we got. Breakfast was upstairs and I can't walk well.
- Mark Steven (10/5): - Staff was friendly room was clean and quiet.
- Nicholson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carleton (4/5): Never Again! - Terrible bed. Unbelievably uncomfortable chair. Poor water pressure in shower.
- Charisse (10/5): - Easy to find
- Zak (7/5): Good -
- Antoinette (10/5): We had a great stay everything was clean love the flooring so glad it wasn’t carpet! My ocd yuck factor can’t stand carp - The scenery was just fabulous, beautiful and green. The trees around the area were beautiful. No swimming pool or hot tub also the pillows were terrible extremely soft, no firmness. Head just sunk. 🤨
- Suwaree (8/5): Very good -
- Blaire (3/5): Definitely unexpected for a Best Western stay - Clean If you have a family choose a different place. We had kids that normally sleep in our beds but they charged us for 2 rooms after the fact because they said it was too many people lol. Even if you get in late, I would recommend another recommend choosing another place👍.
- Pamela (1/5): Never stay here unless you don’t care about accommodations and trustworthy people. - I was charged before I got to property. Then they said I needed to pay again. Plus deposit. We argued. They tried to get over on me. The room does not look like the picture. The place is way out in the boonies. Too far from the casino. And then they threatened to call the police on me which how can you call the police on the police? The final and they finally gave me my money back and I left gracefully. On the outside, it was beautiful but on the inside, not so much
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent hospitality.
- Kelly (10/5): - Great place. Always clean and nice rooms.
- Chi (6/5): - It's an OK motel
- Tim (7/5): Nice clean room, but sadly ended on a bad note w/no breakfast. - Clean room, especially bathroom. Nice sized fridge, convenient microwave, and two chairs. The latter is less common, especially at Hilton properties. No breakfast after 9AM. We did not know it was 9AM versus 10AM. We are in are late sixties and we don’t get up until 8-9. There should be an accommodation for older guests.
- Joe (10/5): Comfortable, clean, beautiful area and a good breakfast - Great location and clean Nothing
- Kevin (10/5): Perfect, the area is beautiful. Close to Apple Hill & several wineries. - Front desk folks were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing
- Veronique (10/5): Exceptional -
