Everything was absolutely wonderful from before we even checked in until the moment we checked out. The staff reached out before our arrival to offer help with making our trip special. The entire staff was very welcoming and could not have been more friendly or helpful. Breakfast was delicious with wonderful service and we looked forward to a cocktail in the beautiful library bar each evening. It was lovely all around and we can't wait to go back!

If so, then: The welcome in this cute little castle was very kind and professional. The suite was modern in style and very clean. The gastronomic experience was wonderful, but no wonder because the restaurant and the Head Chef Grégory Garimbay have a Michelin star! So it's understandable why. It's no wonder that many people come here for lunch and dinner, because this experience will remain unforgettable forever, thanks to the restaurant manager and staff also. You can relax and have a sip in two bars, in the garden area and in the "library". A beautiful black kitten will be your bodyguard throughout the castle, who is no longer young and has been serving the castle for almost 20 years! The staff was very kind, intelligent and helpful, so it's no wonder I felt very good. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
- TheLuxeCritic (10/5): Absolutely beautiful. Private sanctuary in gated grounds. Magical.... - On arrival the grounds are stunning. Private and gated, huge chateau with centre fountain. As you enter it feels exclusive and charming all at once. The decor is colourful yet old money quiet. The guests are quiet and mill about gently. The restaurant and bar are just beautiful. Natural light, timber details, exquisite light fixtures and Guerlain throught. The spa, the pool, sauna, steam room - it's all a delight. At night the grounds are secured and you're tucked away in your suite that is decorated stunningly. The walls are flocked with fabric, feature walls are hand painted, marble bathrooms, silk rugs, diving drapery, low lighting, luxury bedding, fine glassware.....it goes on. Would I stay again - yes, yes and yes.
- acfox1210 (10/5): American in Paris - Skip the heavily tourist areas which are all easily reachable by cab and stay at this little piece of heaven sequestered in the 16th. Elegant without being glitzy or overdone. Quiet , gracious, efficient staff that made us feel welcomed even before we got there , beginning with suggestions long distance by the concierge. We felt special and chic and very well care for in this charming hotel.

The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and super quiet! It feels like a true getaway even though you're right in the middle of Paris. It is an exceptional hotel in every way. Can't wait to return.
- 174jbarrett (10/5): Amazing time in Paris in the winter - Just returned from one week in Paris to celebrate a milestone birthday with my husband. Saint James was all we could have asked for. The staff are exceptionally attentive, friendly and helpful. The property is a two minute walk to the metro and a 5 minute walk to Place Hugo a lively spot.
- shieldsdawn (10/5): Phenomenal Stay at the St. James Hotel - Our stay at the St. James Hotel was incredible! Our family stayed a week in November 2025 and celebrated our American Thanksgiving with 11 of our family in the clubroom. Margaux was very helpful with planning and executing a wonderful meal for us that day. David was welcoming to us also during our lunch that day. All the staff was incredible coordinating everything before our arrival with not only our reservations but honoring our special requests. The concierge staff was very prompt in answering all my emails sent during my months of planning including suggestions of activities which they booked. From the moment we arrived we felt we were treated with the utmost care. The attention from the housekeeping staff to the service in the restaurant/bar, breakfast every morning (Kiara and others), the front desk staff, and the attention of the concierges in the front lobby went beyond our expectations. We have already discussed that upon our return to Paris we will definitely stay at the St. James Hotel again!
- ajs6890 (8/5): Nice Chateau in a Quiet Location - The Saint James in Paris is the only chateau hotel located in the city. It’s not as centrally located as many other 5-star Paris hotels, but it’s likely the quietest and most tranquil of all. The chateau is firmly planted between the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower so it’s by no means in the middle of nowhere. The cab ride to Place de la Concorde and all the great sites in the vicinity is roughly 15-20 minutes while nice parts of Rive Gauche are equally as close. Place des Vosges is roughly 35-40 minutes away so it’s not an ideal location if you plan to spend a lot of time in the eastern part of the city. The property itself is stunning. It’s truly a chateau in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the big city. The backyard area is inviting (although awkward to access as you must walk directly through the restaurant to get to the back doors). We bought bread and meats one night and had a nice French-style meal in the backyard area. Pilou, the languid 17-year old black cat who saunters around the property brings a relaxed element to the hotel. Our room was upgraded from a junior suite to a suite and was extremely nice. For Paris, the size of the room was outstanding. There was a foyer, steps down to a living room area and a large bedroom. Although the bathroom had one of those half glass panes that inevitably leaves the floor wet, the room was still a highlight of our stay. The flowers I pre-ordered were tastefully arranged in the foyer upon arrival along with a stunning and equally delicious plate of meticulously sliced apples and kiwis in some sort of berry topping with wine grapes scattered throughout. We were also given tasty salted caramel macarons, a bottle of white wine and a hand-written welcome note. The reason for leaving a 4 star review instead of 5 stars comes down to a couple issues. First, on the last day of our stay, we ordered breakfast to our room using a door tag that we put out the night before. We ordered the same breakfast in the same way the morning before and received it without issue. However, on our last morning, we were only delivered half of our order. They basically forgot to deliver my fiancés order. In addition, the order they did bring was missing a couple of the included dishes that we received the morning before. If that had been the only mistake, they’d probably still get a 5 star review, but we had multiple extra charges after checkout. One charge was for an extra $2,000+ that was charged to my card 8 hours after we checked out. After contacting the hotel about the extra charge, they apologized and agreed to refund the money. A couple hours later, another extra charge popped up on my card. This time, it was for just under $100 for water and champagne we took from the mini bar. Prior to taking anything from the mini bar, I called the front desk to confirm that our $100 AMEX credit could be used for mini bar items. After receiving confirmation that our credit could be used for the mini bar, we took a bottle of water and a split of champagne. Upon informing the Saint James of the extra charge, they again apologized and agreed to refund the second erroneous charge. All in all, our stay at the Saint James in Paris was positive and we would consider returning, especially for the reasonable price relative to the exorbitant prices many 5-star hotels in Paris charge… just remember to review your credit card statement after checking out.

It’s been two months since our stay and I swear I still think of my visit almost every day. My partner and I are planning to make annual returns to Paris and will stay nowhere else but the Saint James! Truly, recommend anyone who can afford this luxury to treat themselves to this hotel. I stayed here for a week and realised that if you’re a member, you’ll be treated with respect and good service. If you’re not, prepare for rudeness, indifference, and the feeling that your stay doesn’t matter. Non-members are made to feel they are there just to add cashflow to the club. During my stay I observed a culture amoung the staff, and management, of a complete indiffrence to the customer satisfaction of non-member guests staying at the hotel and dining at the resturants. In Paris, at this price point, there are countless hotels that actually want you as a guest. Choose something closer to the 9th which is more centrally located and you will have a better stay, better service, and leave with better memories of Paris. The hotel hides behind its listing in American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts and Relais & Châteaux, but delivers nothing close to the standards of either. In my experience, it felt like it uses these programs as bait to lure you in to compensate for a poor location and a cash grab for non-members.

From the moment you arrive, the team is already two steps ahead of you (in the best way). The property itself is breathtaking — freshly polished from an 18-month renovation — and the shared spaces feel like a Parisian dream. I could happily spend an entire afternoon curled up in the library bar, pretending I live there permanently. The gym is compact but perfectly equipped (plus a sauna and steam room, which is really what we all want anyway). We were lucky enough to receive an upgrade, and the staff’s genuine kindness made it feel like they were just as excited about our anniversary as we were. I won’t spoil any surprises, but I’ll just say: thoughtful, accommodating, and warm doesn’t even begin to cover it. Yes, the hotel sits slightly outside the busiest arrondissements, but we loved the quiet charm of the neighborhood — and with the Eiffel Tower or Arc de Triomphe under 20 minutes away, you’re never far from the action. Everything was impeccable. I’m convinced I should move in permanently (though, failing that, I’ll be back as soon as possible).

When I told them at the front desk and showed them the bites, they did absolutely nothing saying there were no bugs despite a doctor confirming otherwise. They passed me off to escalating rude managers who offered absolutely no assistance. When I left they booked someone into the room the next day, despite telling me they would do otherwise. Also several of the rooms have no windows, just a small skylight.

However, our most recent visit left us disappointed in several aspects, which we hope you can address for future guests. 1. Loss of Reciprocal Membership with Singapore Polo Club The cancellation of the reciprocal membership with the Polo Club of Singapore was deeply disappointing. This partnership was a significant factor in our annual decision to stay at Le Saint-James, and its absence has diminished the value proposition for us. We hope this can be reconsidered or compensated with alternative benefits for loyal patrons. 2. Service & Dining Experience at Bellefeuille (26 June 2025) The dinner service at Bellefeuille was uncharacteristically slow—our three-course meal took nearly three hours due to apparent understaffing. We noticed other guests also growing impatient, which detracted from the otherwise refined ambiance. Additional staffing during peak times would greatly improve the experience. Same issue with the Breakfast service at the Bar. 3. Unacceptable Room Conditions (Third Floor – Room 322) The initial room assigned to us (322) was shockingly inadequate for the price point (€700+ per night). Windowless and reminiscent of a maid’s quarters, it fell far below the standard expected of Le Saint-James. While we appreciated the receptionist’s prompt upgrade, such rooms should either be redesigned or repriced to reflect their inferior quality compared to first-floor accommodations. 4. Vehicle Handling (27 June 2025) Returning a parked Aston Martin uncovered and dirty after a morning retrieval was an oversight unbefitting of a luxury establishment. For guests with high-value vehicles, covered parking and basic cleanliness upon return should be assured. Positive Notes: Despite these issues, we remain fond of Le Saint-James. The staff’s warmth and the exceptional bed linens continue to stand out as highlights of your offering. We share this feedback in hopes that these points will be addressed to restore the flawless experience we’ve come to expect. The staff were so kind, attentive and friendly. The apartments were luxurious, comfortable and exquisitely decorated. The beautiful bar is worth lingering over a cocktail. The main hotel is understated elegance with a courtyard that welcomes you back every time you return from an adventure in the city. The breakfasts were delicious - but do not expect a buffet. The amenities are exceptional like the restaurant Bellefeuilles, the Terrace and the library bar. We used the hammam and the pool/whirlpool at the spa and found it to be beautiful, clean with an abundant supply of towels and ice water—even the showers in the spa were great. Our suite looked newly redone. The service from the concierge and reception to room service and the waitstaff we’re pleasant and helped us eagerly. They were attentive without intruding. We had a car during our two weeks. My family felt at home our entire stay!

Housed in a restored château tucked into a peaceful, refined neighborhood, it offers a rare combination of grandeur, intimacy, and warmth. My group stayed in the Victor Hugo apartment, which made our visit unforgettable. Occupying the entire floor with private elevator access, it included two expansive suites—each with its own luxurious bathroom—a beautiful breakfast area in my suite overlooking the garden, and a sleek, fully equipped kitchen (with Gaggenau appliances). Every detail was thoughtful and refined. The hotel staff were exceptional—gracious, discreet, and incredibly attentive. They went above and beyond to make my 40th birthday feel personal and memorable, even decorating the room (with balloons in my favorite colors) and arranging a birthday cake from Chef Coline Doussin that was, without exaggeration, the best cake I’ve ever had. The public spaces are just as impressive. The main building is stunning, particularly the dining room, which feels like a light-filled conservatory. Breakfast was fresh and beautifully presented. The Bar Bibliothèque is an inviting, quietly luxurious space—perfect for a morning coffee or an evening cocktail. The Saint James also introduced us to Le Stella, a classic Parisian bistro nearby, where we had a truly delicious lunch. Their local recommendations were as thoughtful as every other element of the stay. The Saint James Paris sets a new standard. It is elegant without being ostentatious, and truly unforgettable in every way.

Arrived with 2 teenage boys on a Friday and one son broke his bracket on his braces. Remi the Concierge put a lot of effort into finding us an appointment with an emergency appointment orthodontist. Then our outbound flight was cancelled and while I panicked the front desk handled it with easy and rebooked us because they can speak many languages (while the airline wouldn’t answer my calls) The terrace was expensive for cocktails and dinner, but the service and ambience made up for it in every way. It’s very romantic. The view outside is spectacular, upon entering and visiting the backyard. Spa service- has a spectacular deep tissue massage .

Why have a pretty garden without being accessible to guests for food and drinks? Spa needs mot3 attention from receptionists - no water to drink and wet towels on loungers. We stayed there as are reciprocal members of a club in London. More attention would be appreciated. Concierge & Simon the Sommelier were excellent. Sun eve bar staff couldn’t find an expensive bottle of wine we ordered and took ages to tell us - after food was delivered. All staff should remember the guest experience is paramount. Spa receptionists ( plural) didn’t leave their desk and we were disappointed no massage avaikable.

Whether it be the staff at the front desk the concierge and everything in between you could not fault their service or attention to detail. The lobby is beautiful and brighter but still so warm and welcoming , glad the Library Bar has retained its charm. Breakfast service and offerings were great, as was the housekeeping. The pool is a lovely addition ! Front desk , concierge and baggage assistance were attentive, helpful, and friendly. Thank you to Pascal for all of his help prior to the trip as well as while we were in Paris. Location - easy walk to Champs Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Trocadéro as well as Metro. There is a great street lined with food markets , as well as a small grocery store steps away. The hotel arranged airport pickup and escort thru passport control both were professional, friendly, and courteous worth the fee. Thank you Saint James for a lovely memorable visit. I can’t wait to come back in warmer weather when the outside tables and bar are open. Great to see Pilou !

Towels were thick and beautifully branded - everything was just pure luxury! I loved every detail and Saint James Paris truly made my birthday unforgettable! A château in the middle of Paris walking distance to main sights. Restaurant is out of this world and the chef down to earth and comes to your table! Stayed there for a week to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary and upon them finding out they immediately upgraded my room and left a bottle of champagne in our room. The room was immaculate, the library bar beautiful and the entire property just outstanding in every way. Highly recommend it.

- Toney (10/5): The Absolute Most - I normally don’t take the time to write reviews like this, but for the St. James I will gladly take a few mins to tell you what’s good. The St. James is the only place to stay in Paris. Have you seen Downton Abbey? I felt like lord Grantham every time I walked in the door. The service is impeccable, the rooms are lit, the bartenders are a riot. I will stay here every time I come to Paris. Whomst is the Ritz? Never heard of her.

The decor was beautiful and the history of the property has been preserved so it can be experienced by all! The staff was amazing and the hotel itself was quiet, clean, and very comfortable. The Saint James has spoiled me and I’m. It sure other hotels can live up to this very high bar they’ve set in Paris. 5- star experience.

Whether we needed transit assistance, recommendations, or something as simple as a bourbon on the rocks Everyone here was friendly, accommodating and treated us like royalty. Despite our horrible French they would welcome us each morning and evening in French and then switch to English or patiently listen to us to attempt French and work with what we stumbled over. I really appreciated that, my husband appreciated they spoke to him in English hehehe. I would highly recommend staying here. Where better to stay in Paris than a beautiful Chateaux! Within walking distance from the Arch and many other attractions if you like to walk. If you don't enjoy getting steps in you are moments away from the trains that take you everywhere. Loved this my experience. Best hotel I've ever stayed in, across the world. Will be back.
- Peter (10/5): - We were upgraded to the junior suite and loved it. Stayed for three days. Staff was great. I felt like they knew me. It feels like you are staying in a villa, not a chain hotel. I was worried about the hotel seeming far from major tourist sites but that was a non issue. We would definitely stay again
- ECB (8/5): Comfortable hotel in a good location in Paris - The drive up to the hotel is impressive, particularly at night. We arrived about 10pm. We were helped with our bags, but there was no one at reception to start with. After a few minutes someone arrived and we were checked in. This was fairly efficient. Photocopy of one passport, and swipe of a credit card. We were shown to our room which was four hundred and something. It was covered in leopard print, floor to ceiling, not to our taste, but the bathroom with slipper bath was lovely. We asked to change for the second night, which was done for when we came back later in the day. This time were were in the lower ground 106 which is in a vaulted room with it's own hallway and adjoining bathroom. The bathroom was not as nice, with a more basic bath and shower over, but we preferred the decor and the room was quieter, with doors opening onto some greenery and the fountain of the front of the hotel beyond. It was disappointing that breakfast was not included, in my opinion it should be included in all the room rates when you are paying £350+ per night. We had a drink at the bar outside which was lovely, and accompanied by delicious salted almonds, cashews and pitted olives. It did take nearly half an hour to get our drinks though, expected slightly better when paying EUR 25 per cocktail. We did have a welcome note and bottle of wine in our room, to wish us a Happy Anniversary, which was a nice touch.
