Guest Reviews
- Katasha M (6/5): - Sketchy area. Ppl live here. Loose animals all around the place. Dude checking ya in was cool. Bed was the most h comfortable bed I’ve ever laid in. But the room was clean and it had a fridge and microwave and decent sized tv. It was a last minute room so it’ll do if you just need sleep. No bugs detected as we checked thoroughly. Stayed in higher end hotels in the same town and they had cockroaches galore and bed bugs so this beats that any day!
- Rhonwen (8/5): - Clean
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dont trust the ameneties listed. - alot of false advertising. no pool on site or laundry room. room was about $25 worth. hotel desk clerk was beyond rude from hello. got charged $10 for checking out 20 minutes late when 15 minutes of it was doing extra cleaning to make the cleaning easier for them not that my room was very dirty but i removed the trash etc. just a terrible experience overall. felt like i was going to fall thru the tub the whole thing was wobbly. had one old blue washcloth looked to be used and rewashed for a year and a dingy towel. seen better bedspreads in abandoned buildings. had to go buy my own wash towels and bedsheets. only nice employee was the gentleman who came around and did checks in the morning he was pretty awesome. but the female at the desk seems to not enjoy working there at all. i dnt need 100 smiles but absolute rudeness is unacceptable and unprofessional. plan to take further action as a result of the $10 late fee she charged us. meant to take photos of the one star room cant believe i forgot. but dont go see for yourself. rooms are worth about $30 a night tops. sorry management but you'll need to step in and step up to keep this place open and profitable.
- Jackie (8/5): - Old industrial section of town, limited services in the immediate area. Very fair price for the room.
- Kyle (2/5): - It would have been cheaper ti go to a nicer hotel
Extra charges
Said i smoked in room i didnt smoke in to charge card and keep deposit
Will dispute
Gunshots right outside parkinglot
Whole place smelled like weed
- Timothy (2/5): Roach hotel - This place is the wors place i have ever stayed at
- Chelsea (2/5): - My friend and I went there to stay last nite and it was disgusting. It looks like nothing was cleaned. The sheets were extremely dirty and so was the pillowcases and the pillows their self. The towels looked horrible and nasty. They had bedbugs and we went to go tell the office about it, and they denied it and said that we were lying. We have proof and we showed it to them and they still denied it. They said that we are the ones that dirty the room and made the sheets the way that they were. We try to get a refund because we were only there for maybe 30 minutes if that when we found the bed bug and the lady wouldn’t give us her money back so we end up having to call the police and the police couldn’t do anything because it’s a civil matter. They gave us our deposit back but that was it. I would not recommend this place to anyone especially people that have kids.
- Lilli (10/5): - Very nice place
- Bruce (10/5): - The manager was great, I booked in a hurry to escape a dangerous line of thunderstorms and it all went smoothly. I parked my motorcycle in a walkway by the laundry and wasn't told to move it. My only complaint is noisy neighbors but for the price and circumstances not a big deal.
- Patrick (6/5): - I liked that it was open.
I would need another shower after taking one there.
- MIDORI (2/5): As if Bates Motel - We knew this place was not good but it was worse than that. However the price was as if four star hotels in Chicago. Even it was the special day - the day before the total eclipse, they ripped off the public too much.
Don’t stay there!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worst experience - I arrived late in the evening and when I entered the room I had a hard time opening the door to get in. The first thing I noticed was the room appeared to be clean but there was a constant chirping sound which was the smoke detector also it was very cold. I plugged the heater/air conditioner in and turned it on. I then sat on the bed and started watching tv. I then noticed there was only one towel in bathroom so I went and drove to office as no one answered the phone and asked for some towels which I got. When I drove back the room was still very cold so I waited for a total of three hours waiting for it to warm up which it never did so I tried calling the office but no one answered so I drove over to office to get a different room that had heat but no one was there so I left and drove to a different hotel to get a room which I did and it was normal room temperature. Later that day I tried to contact but it took twenty minutes calling several times before anyone answered and it was the same lady that was working when I checked in. I told her about my problem with the room and she hung up on me. Last but not least while I was sitting on the bed watching tv I noticed several cockroaches running on the bedside table. I will dispute these charges with my cc company. I will never stay there again.
- Jonathan (4/5): - Place is the worst I’ve ever seen or stayed at in the Terre Haute area… lightbulbs missing out in need of replacement, water fixtures broken, wallpaper separating from the walls, interior furniture falling apart, etc
- Marla (10/5): - room with me and Clean. It was very quiet, no noisy neighbors. It was close to where I wanted to be.
- Andrew (2/5): - Bugs in 3 rooms. A group of us stayed here. They even had the nerve to say I brought them with me. Absolutely crazy and super gross. Told us to leave and wouldn't refund.
- Greg (8/5): - This property gets many bad reviews, but it wasn't at all horrible for the price.
- Norene (4/5): - Outside parking lot food on the ground, parking across courtyard to get to the room. Door key electronic worked once. Deadbolt did not latch. Outdated interior I guess it fits in with the outside decor and neighborhood. Room as clean as you can get it I suppose. Too pricey for what we got but everyplace was sold out and we had to make a last minute reservation. Toilet flushed and shower was warm. Count your blessings.
- Mandy (2/5): - When we checked in, she had no idea of what she was doing. Was on the phone with someone talking her through the entire process. The room key did not work and it had to be redone twice. Still did not work, so moved to another room. No hot water. The yard was full of liquid and smelled like sewage. Had asked for a handicapped room and none was available per my request when I booked the reservation. Overall terrible experience.
- Andrew (2/5): - Cockroaches Cockroaches and more Cockroaches
- William (6/5): - Getting in poor condition
- Almamee (2/5): - This hotel is terrible place to be, they make look nice on internet and social but it’s terrible, dirty and bad odor inside the room..
- Irene (10/5): - Nice place.
- Michael (2/5): - This place was one of my worse. Any good reviews must have been from a long time ago or are bogus
- David (10/5): - Very basic room, adequate for one-night stay. Clean. One thing that bothered me: extremely small soap bars and shampoo packets almost impossible to open without scissors.
- Judith (6/5): - Fairly typical low budget accommodations although the parking could have been closer to the rooms.
- Renee (2/5): Awful - It was very dirty. Water spot on the ceiling. Roach in the bathroom. I was in town for a NIKE event and there were no other hotels/motels. I should have stayed in my car.
- Corey (2/5): - I didn't even stay inleft it was nasty what a waste of money
- Kathie (4/5): - I didn't like the way the manager handled our complaint about the people next door to us. The couple was fighting loudly. When we talked to the manager she was very unaccommodating almost to the point of being rude. She finally moved us to another room after much persuasion. We will not ever stay in this motel again.
- Michael (8/5): - I have stayed there a few times. Its never been that great, but not the worse place Ive been in. Def needs an update. Ditch the carpets for sure. Overall...it wasnt terrible for the peice.
- Alicia R (6/5): - I liked that it was right off Rt 41, it was a quiet place, next door restaurant for breakfast, good food and service. What I didn't like that the bottom of the door didn't have the black thingy that keeps the cool air out, so we had to turn on the heater, we went in October. Found two bugs on the wall, hubby says they were coming from the opening of the door on the bottom. No blanket so we had to use the spreadsheet they used to fix the bed. Other than that, it was good.
- Sarah (2/5): - Staff was horrible. The "comforter" looked like a massacre happened. Stick carpet and several loud arguments outside through the night.
- Tamara (2/5): - The tv didnt even have a cord and people were outside hanging all night
- Shawn (2/5): - Cockroaches everywhere, blood on sheets, hair in shower no towels, 1 washrag. Dirty place, DONT RENT HERE!!
- Loreen (2/5): Im never staying here again - First off they charged me a pet fee for my service dog. Second only 1 channel on the tv. Third no smoke detector in my room. Fourth no wifi. Its not wonder they are a no refund place. Once booked i had to stay or loose my $50 i should of just slept in my car and saved my money
- larry (2/5): - Didn't stay due to bed bugs roaches and other room conditions. Left almost immediately and went to another hotel facility, red carpet refused to give me a refund regardless of the conditions
- David (2/5): - There were upcharges on everything. Dog was supposed to be $10, they wanted $15. Each extra person cost more money. Communication was horrible and I left rather than stay there.
- sally (10/5): - Our stay was very good no problems at all. Everyone was very friendly. Room's were really clean. They did have a slight musty spell but nothing a little air freshener wouldnt take care of. Will stay anytime there
- Jewel (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay.
- shane (2/5): - It looked dirty and only one towel for 2 people
- Donna (2/5): - A lot of people lived at motel , people had cars in parking lot working on them , it was not a safe place to stay
- Sean (10/5): Hard to beat for the price - Was great. Parking available for truck with 33 fifthwheel camper. Clean room, soft bed, checkin at 0145 am. Everything i needed and a great rate.
- Steve (8/5): - Water pressure was too low
- Michelle (2/5): - Nothing about it was food.
- Valerie (6/5): - The room was clean. The hot water ran out in 5 minutes. There are trains that run through the area periodically and their whistles can be a bit loud.
- Mary (2/5): - Building was run down, office door locked, we had to talk to the attendant through a little window. Felt very unsafe. We left & stayed at a different place. This property should be deleted from the Expedia site. The description of this place was very misleading. We deserve to get a refund from this booking.
- Chris (2/5): HORRIBLE PLACE. - Hotel was in a not so nice neighborhood. Also when putting in the address for gps the town has a third st. and a 3rd st. so that is very confusing. Hotel didn't let you inside to check in. All done through a window. Hotel was old. Room beyond outdated. Odor was terrible inside the room. Bed was the worst we've ever slept in. Checked in late (after 10 pm.) and checked out before 730 am. NEVER AGAIN!!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Satisfactory for My Long Stay - This hotel is very outdated, but the room was clean and relatively comfortable.
The upside for me was it was a decent price for the time of year, especially since I was there 10 days. It was also the most convenient I could find for my work location.
Yes, I would book it again.
- David Scott (4/5): - It was advertised as having free wi-fi, but when I checked in, they said it wasn't working, but it didn't sound like a temporary issue. Rather a longer term issue.
- Brent (6/5): Manager was horrible - Room was clean, no tissues, 1 cup for a 2 bed room. Have to pay a $20 cash deposit. Never heard of this at any hotel. But next morning at 8am he wanted me to wait till 10 until someone could check out room. I had to get loud and rude to get my $20 back. I was NOT going to wait 2 hours for someone to check the room out. I will never come back nor recommend this place. What terrible service. And key card took about 30 tries to get into room and he did nothing about it. So ended up staying there instead of going anywhere because of that. He said just leave the door open if we left.. Are you kidding???
- Eddie (4/5): - Didnt give me password for wifi. Granted i forgot to ask but shouldn't have to. Also online ssys free breakfest. They said they dont offer any
- Korey (2/5): - Stay was not bad at all but I did come home with bed bugs, I did not realize until I woke up my 1st night staying, I had to stay in Terre Haute for two day due to work. After waking up I saw the bites called into work then came home. They would not answer the phone until I called the 3rd day no refund was given and I was hung up on.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room is not clean and we could see hairs in wash basin and smoke smell all over the room, but it's a non-smoking room
- Verified traveler (6/5): - .
- Verified traveler (2/5): - the whole place was horrible, staff is rude, rooms smelled like smoke and very outdated too much noise at night
- Verified traveler (6/5): Money scam/not a horrible stay - Upon arrival I was told my 4 person booking for the room wasn’t allowed, that only 2 people could sleep in the king room, it was me and my 4yr old, but I book for 4 of us in case my older daughter and bf decide they want to stay. He tried to charge me $5 per person extra. There is only 1 towel and 1 wash cloth in the room. The tv did not work, had one of his house keepers come fix it. But overall, not a bad room.
Make sure you have cash on you, the deposit is cash only.
- Jenay (4/5): Probably wont stay there again. - Was frustrated that the Credit Card machine wasn't working. Then when we go into the room, nothing was plugged in and there was mold on the dresser. After plugging in everything, the TV wouldn't work. Maintenance came in cleaned the mold and tried to fix the TV. ended up moving rooms, and that TV was messed up where maintenance needed to re-activate the cable card. Probably wont stay there again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - reservation was made. website checkin was 2:00 pm. i called hour before saying i was on my way. was told "no rooms available". i said i had a reservation. was told "no rooms available". i asked to check reservation. then said, "rooms not available till 7:00 pm". i asked why, person simply hung up. I WANT A REFUND. I DID NOT STAY THERE.
- Damian (2/5): Crappy - They have a leak and wouldn't let us check in
- Terry (6/5): You decide. - When we checked in the office was permanently closed so we had to ring a bell & stand under a dripping overhang to talk through a window. The person seemed bothered we were there to check in. We had 1 towel in the room & remote batteries were dead. They did bring more when we asked. There was a dresser pushed against the adjoining room door. We were told not to smoke in the room and there were burns & rips on the bedspread. It was very windy that night & ceiling tiles in our room were moving & banging around. One of the ceiling tiles in the bathroom disappeared.
Our door blew open in the middle of the night.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Sketchy - When we arrived everything in the room was unplugged the toilet did not flush and there was a foul odor in the air. The less than nice check in lady threatened us with a $150 fine for smoking even though we both stated we were non smokers. Check out was supposed to be 11am so we went to breakfast. We came back from breakfast before 10 am and saw people walking into our room to clean it. They did not seem to worry that all our stuff was still in there. We asked them when check out was and they responded with “we knocked and heard no answer”. Overall was a very sketchy experience and will not be returning.
- Ray (10/5): - There was allot of road noise. The bed was very comfortable. Wish there was a in room coffee maker.
- Melissa (4/5): Only if you REALLY need a place to sleep. - The building was in disrepair. Steps leading to the second floor were completely broken and we had to carefully go up them to get to our room. The room was hot and when the air conditioner was plugged in it made so much noise we could not use it. The lock on the door was broken as well. The bed was at lease clean and comfortable.
- Donald (2/5): - Falling apart building, staff was rude.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room was not the price that I got quoted in the app!!! Room was filthy, T.V. was outdated, bed was lumpy, sheets were dirty, and room stunk!! The sink didnt work and the wifi was'nt working!! They also would'nt allow my dog in the room!! On top of everything else the girl running the front desk was very rude and it took her 15 mins to get to the door and that is after it took her 10 mins to even answer the phone to begin with!! I would sleep on the street or in my car before staying at this .,
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This place was not fit for a human to stay in! I would not let my dog even stay at this place! This motel should be condemned!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The website said they had open rooms but we had told they did not after we had been dropped off there. The front desk lady was rude disrespectful and didn't care that my husband and I had just been dropped off and had a strict budget that wouldn't allow us to pay an additional 22 dollars for a taxi to the next motel they wanted us to pay more than the website priced for us for. So we ended up walking about 6 1/2 miles to the next rundown motel on a highway and our couples night was basically ruin.
- Mike (2/5): - No bathroom door knob,6" rust hole in sink, bathroom door wouldn't stay shut,TV and cable didn't work at all, outside stairs were held up with scrap wood and one step was completely broken. No door lock only a old rusty chain hanging. Fridge was inoperable,no blow dryer, tissue paper, only 1/4 roll of toilet paper. Place was way used up and absolutely disgusting. You could see right outside around the door casing. Would not refund because of some functions going on in that town and was overbooked.Refused to give another room or refund. I will never look into Red Carpet Inn again
- james (2/5): Never again - The place was filthy, it had a bad smell, had one small bar of soap, electrical appears scary.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - they was full, so they sent us to statesman inn and there was cockroaches in our room
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I liked that it was cheap and the people were friendly, it was quite and clean. The only problem I had with the place was the “bed bugs “ that feasted on me.
- Unhappy (2/5): - Checking In was very long. Towels and sheets were dirty. Hair in sink and on bed. No lights that you could leave on for the kids to see when they get up to use the bathroom. We were too tired to complain. Left very early in the Morning. Just wasn’t comfortable enough to stay till check out.
- brian (6/5): - other than the mold stain in the bathroom it wasnt totally terrible. I was there to visit family, at the hotel just to sleep.
- Alyson (2/5): - There was a drunk lady who harassed all the guest
- Shannon (2/5): - Found a bed bug on the bed
- Jennifer (6/5): Not what i expected..... - Toilet clogged up every time we used it and it was a known issues because they left a plunger in the bathroom. The shower had "personal" hairs in it. The bed was way too soft and obviously worn out. They only gave us 1 of all the towels for my husband and I. I went cheap to save money but I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!
- Spring (4/5): Not happy - People were fighting, calling the cops. They moved my room. I had water bugs, and the lights would not stay on.
- LeeAnn (6/5): Lack of understanding - The location was conviently located to the hospital, I booked the room late and said I would pay 57.00 and the desk clerk said I was too late for that room and had to pay an extra 15.00 . It was late abs had no choice due to going to the hospital for my son.
