Guest Reviews
- shmuel (4/5): - So expensive for such average facilities in the rooms, it's not an hotel, but rooms above the Restaurant. you can hear people talking in the room next door. For that price I expect to receive a very nice hotel that have had an owner and not just staf that dont care
- Bill (8/5): - Clean room. Nice staff. Great location. Just let people know there is no ac on the 3rd floor.
- Traci (6/5): - Confusing how to get up to room basically through the restaurant, three levels of stairs and hallways, the address link on hotels site took us to a different location. Very basic room but all that you need. Do t bring bulky suitcase cause you won't fit up the stairs and hall.
- PRASHANT RAMESH (8/5): - Good property
- Dorraine (10/5): - It was an excellent stay .
- Robert (6/5): - This was such a disappointment it was renovated poorly and reminded me of a “ cheap” hotel. We will not return.
- Robert (10/5): - Very comfortable room and affordable. Dining downstairs is excellent
- Gail (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, quiet. Great place to stay
- James (10/5): - Great rustic place with amazing food. Nice clean comfortable room.
- Rui (10/5): - It is very well property and more better the photos on line.
- abigail (10/5): - So kind! We accidentally mixed up our reservation day and they still let us come the following night. It was clean and a nice stay. Thank you!!
- Justin (10/5): - 5*
- Joseph (6/5): - No air conditioning made the room quite hot and difficult to sleep.
- Michael (10/5): Nice but rustic. - It was 4th of July, there were fireworks and a large crowd. Weather was great. Very rustic, back woods.
- Damian (10/5): - Great food and a comfortable bed. Everything I was looking for. I’ll definitely be back next time I stay in the area.
- Mike (10/5): - Was a quiet inn with great menu
- Glen (8/5): - Beautiful place. Very rustic and quiet. Excellent food in restaurant. Our only complaint was that the rooms are but air conditioned and antithesis there was a fan and window to open it was extremely warm in our room. Shower was very small and cramped. Otherwise great place to stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - There was no one at the desk to greet me or show me my room. I had a waiters give me my key. I had to go on an adventure to my room. When I checked out there was no one at the desk again and not a soul around at all. I will not be going back to a place that has absolutely no customer service for those staying at the inn.
- Brenda (8/5): - I wish I had known that this property was closed on Monday. It worked out ok as the location directly across the street was open and the food was great.
- Lynn (10/5): - We were off-season, so it was very quiet!
- Edward (10/5): Clean - Just a very typical north east section of Vermont local hospitality
- Maxim (10/5): - No time for review
- Chris (8/5): - Nice place, very close to Jay Peak. Restaurant has great food.
- Teresa (8/5): - A charming inn with what seemed to be a fabulous restaurant on the main level… Regretfully, I did not have time to enjoy eating there. They open for breakfast at 8 AM but with the nearby ski slopes opening at 8:30, I did not take the time to eat on site. I did not recall reading that there was no elevator and all of the rooms are on the second and third floors… Mine was on the third floor. Something good to know in advance! Appreciated the refrigerator and comfortable though very intimate accommodations. There was no one at the “front desk” to greet guests about 7:30pm, but I figured out the process. Same with checkout at 7:45am. Rates were good for April… Would return again as the outdoor pool area and hot tub seemed inviting!
- Joseph (10/5): - .
- mark (8/5): - The staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant and bar was good and convenient w good food and service. I liked the location close to jay and across from convenience store
- Guy (10/5): - Great base Camp for Jay Peak. Bar and restaurant is very good and just downstairs.
Goung back
- John (8/5): - It was fine
We were kind of on our own
Room key and reservation slip was left in a front desk at the inn
No checkin
We had to find our name/. Reservation and key amongst other reservations
It was fine
- Lindsay (8/5): - Great Stay with a Small Quirk
Prices were very reasonable for both the lodging and the on-site restaurant. The room felt recently renovated—everything was modern, fresh, and spotlessly clean. The only issue we ran into was the bed’s leg supports—they stick out a bit, and we found ourselves bumping into them a few times. Other than that, a great stay!
- Jacqui (8/5): - I have eaten at the Jay Village Inn restaurant several times over the years. The food is always good, and the portions generous. This was the first time I stayed there. I booked last minute so I could sleep after a day of snowboarding, and the room was super warm, clean, and cozy, and the hot tub was nice as well. I had a room on the top floor with a gorgeous review of the resort. The rate was reasonable, even with the not so great exchange on the Canadian dollar. Very happy. Thanks!
- michael p (8/5): - Enjoyed myself!
- Charles (6/5): - Food
- Daniel (10/5): - Great place to stay for Jay. Convenient and Clean. Restaurants portions are too big, over ordered on accident but didn't regret it. Food was excellent
- Michael (10/5): - My Go-2 place at Jay
- Kane (8/5): Welcoming and Easy Stay - Was a perfect location for a last minute trip. Had everything we could have asked for!
- Matthew (10/5): - good place to stay. clean and friendly staff.
- Matthew (10/5): - Very Rustic and great small town experience
- Charles (10/5): - Nice bar and dining room with very good food and generous portions
- Debra (10/5): - Super quaint. Close to skiing. Comfortable. Great food
- Owen (10/5): - Great property.
- Erin (8/5): - Unique low key little gem close to Jay Peak. Cozy, true inn-style feel. Food portions at restaurant were big which was very satisfying after a day on the slopes.
- Kim (10/5): - We love it here. Will be back
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, and the food downstairs was perfect for after a day of skiing.
We got a nice big room (with a medium-sized bathroom) and had no problem sleeping 3 people for two nights.
- Paul (10/5): - Arrived just before their kitchen closed and will a quick rush we were still able to order food
- Oliver (10/5): - Great rooms, was clean on arrival.
- Joshua (10/5): - Food was great room was clean and cozy best part 5 minutes from Jay peak I'll be back for sure
- Peter (8/5): - Weird setup of how you enter and exit and thin walls but comfortable
- Anthony (10/5): Short Getaway - Simple 2 night getaway. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Dinner was great.
- RAJALAKSHMI (10/5): - Very convenient to go to jay peak mountain. Good food and very friendly staff!!
- Gil (8/5): Nice place to stay near Jay Peak ski resort - This place is near Jay Peak so for skiers that’s very good. There is a restaurant on site. Food is ok, ( limited choice ).
Ambiance is good with the fireplace
- JOHN (10/5): - The staff are great.
- Laura (10/5): - Great ambiance in the bar area, had a nice fire going.
Very friendly staff.
- polly (10/5): Hockey tournament - Everyone was so friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable
- Ronald (8/5): - People great. Dining was a plus. Prices very reasonable.
- Brad (4/5): - this property has a good restaurant prices two floors with no elevators very spartan rooms two lamps We have to take the shades off to get any kind of light.
The service of the restaurant was great . Comfortable bed the metal frames stick out around the bed and keep hitting your shins and toes at night counter just a Wall hung lavatory. It was only place available and it was still $200 a night one of the worst I’ve ever had but the people were great
- Corinne (8/5): Noisy hotel - Cute hotel but very noisy because of the restaurant on the main floor. Bed was not very stable and the receptionist (a guy) was not pleasant either. Ok for one night.
- Shirley (10/5): Quaint - This little in is a gem. Beautiful pool and a sauna. The rooms are a feel at home decor. A mid size mini fridge as well. Very roomy bathroom. No A/C but they provide a tower rotating floor fan. The woodwork is beautiful. One drawback is very few outlets, but we prepared for that by bringing a 3 way plug. The one drawback was our room was cold. Again the Inn came through with a space heater! Turns out a kitchen fan was the cause. I will use this location again!
- Lisa (6/5): - Rustic is a good word. I liked the look, but it also meant lots of stairs to climb, a wiggly bed, and very poor lighting. However, the room was clean and the atmosphere invoked thoughts of the outdoors. Very convenient to have the restaurant in the building and the food was good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place to stay - Initially we were staying one night but after talking to Emily at the restaurant we decided to stay one more night yo further explore the area. It was worth it.
Thank you Emily for being such a great hostess which enhanced our stay.
- Al (6/5): - This place is really dated, to say the least. Staff is sort of absent. You need to go to the bar to get coffee: Its not open until 8, and the coffee is pretty awful. There are not enough plugs in the room for 'modern' usage. The rooms and hallways need a major refit. If they were charging $79.00 like a Motel 6 it would be acceptable, but even motel 6 has coffee. It wasn't relevant during my stay but there was no AC in the rooms. What I am getting at is its not terrible, just dramatically overpriced.
- Sarah (6/5): - Inn and room were ok. Multiple instances of the service being questionable and the restaurant late to open.
- Mark (6/5): - Hallways have better A/C than the rooms. Other than that, this is a decent place to stay. Great restaurant, friendly staff.
- Lori (6/5): Poor service - We booked a double room as there was 3 of us. Our room the TV didn't work. When requested to have it fixed was told we never booked the second room and wouldn't fix it. The restaurant was amazing though.
- Larry (10/5): - Need space heaters for the mornings.
- Larry (10/5): - Staff was very helpful, and room/ bath were very nice!
- Kelli (6/5): - No AC!?! In Hot humid summer weather & had to walk upstairs to 3rd story room with no AC! We had to sleep with the door open, pumping floor fans from the room accross the hall. After attending an outdoor wedding in Derby, we were looking forward to resting overnight, but impossible with no AC. We can see attempted updates like new baseboard & door trim, but other things were not pleasant for the cost- very dated; purple sheets, stains & scuffed furniture. Maybe it’s like a hostel during the ski season? Hearty breakfast in downstairs pub, but no coffee before 8am. Enjoyed the pool
Before leaving, but going back up to 3rd floor heat with no AC to change was depressing.
- Donald (10/5): - Extraordinarily fast check in, great staff, quiet room. Good stay.
- Carolee (6/5): - Wish there had been more electrical outlets in room to charge our electronics. Also position of TV was poor..
- John (10/5): - The food is fantastic, and good value
- Joseph (10/5): - The Jay Valley Inn was a great place to stay, and the restaurant was an added bonus! Great food!
- Matthew (10/5): - Gotta love a Village Inn in New England! Low on frills big on character, and great food! And like “Cheers” at the bar, “where everyone knows everyone else’s name.” Good local spot.
- Aaron (10/5): - Great food at restaurant. Nice clean rooms. Close to Jay Peak Ski Area.
- Gabe (10/5): - Great location and very close to the ski resort with the best breakfast in town
- Matt (10/5): - This is the second time I have stayed here for a ski trip to Jay Peak. It is very close to the mountain. The room and the restaurant are both great!
- Sara (10/5): - A nice place to stay! Friendly staff and tons of parking, super close to the slopes
- Mark (4/5): - Clean...basic....service team not so friendly
- Sharon (10/5): - Welcoming,clean
- Gary (8/5): - The restaurant was interesting. Food was great for the price. Great burger and a good beer selection.
- John (10/5): Very Nice Inn/Restaurant near Jay Peak - We enjoyed our stay at the Jay Village Inn. The food is really good and they serve HUGE portions! Great bar and friendly staff. The room was just a basic room with a very small shower but the bed was comfy and it was all we needed. Good price too @ $117.00 night vs other hotels at double or triple that. Great location too just a couple miles from Jay Peak and there is a fabulous country store just across the street with anything you could possibly need. Also only 5 miles to Canadian border so we enjoyed a day in Quebec. Highly recommended unless you are looking for hoitey toitey.
- Timothy (2/5): - Not my type of accommodations. Floor sloped so bad the head of the bed was several inches lower that the foot of the bed! Mattress is cheap!
- William (8/5): - Dining terrific excellent. Facilities dated
- Collin (10/5): - Jay Inn is a small but Quaint place to stay. It is a very nice with a wonderful restaurant with great food right on the premises. It’s located right at the foothills of Jay mountain. Super close to the ski resort and other amenities for winter activities. Plenty of hiking trails and just gorgeous outdoor scenery.
- christine (4/5): - Upon arrival the room key didn't work, went back to the front desk, got the correct key. When we got into the room, it hadn't been cleaned yet. Went back to the front desk to let them know. I said we would be back after we got some dinner. We returned a few hours later. went up to the room, it was clean now. However, our 2 bedroom suite had another couple sitting on the bed in the second bedroom. Went back to the front desk, the couple were given the wrong room and its keys.
after this, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The woman at the front desk was very apologetic.
- Kelly (8/5): - I appreciated the cleanliness, the fact that both the refrigerator in the room & the heat in the room were turned on before I checked in —it was a chilly day & I appreciated arriving to a warm room.
Towels were thick & nice. Blue painted walls were lovely. I actually liked some of the art on the walls —they were real pieces (not prefab crap). Bed was comfy. Sheets were subpar but not the worst. Could have used an extra blanket- was surprised to not find a spare stored in a drawer. The bed blanket/coverlet are very thin. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised-& would definitely return. Good value for the price.
- Monica (10/5): - Heater did not seem to work
- Richard (10/5): - Nice people!
- Christine (8/5): - The property was quaint but definitely could use a facelift to the rooms and bathroom. I enjoyed the Home feeling of the Inn and the bar.
- Douglas (10/5): - Restaurant food was excellent. Good value.
- John (10/5): Pleasant Surprise in North Troy - This really was a pleasant surprise after a long drive leaf peeping in the northern New Hampshire and Vermont area. We were skeptical due to it being off season for skiin, and there not being a town center anywhere nearby.
Our room was simple, clean and more than just minimally functional at a decent price.
The restaurant was actually excellent, portion sizes very good, and a diverse menu with daily specials was offered. Food served until 9 PM, and there was a cozy full bar area with cheerful and talented bar staff (Adam?), which is where we ate.
Although ski season had not started, the inn was busy on a Monday night with a mix of locals and travelers.
There was both a hot tub and a sauna, and both were fully functional and clean.
Finally, across the street is a great little general store with gas pumps. Fresh muffins and coffee, and we were off to our next stop. Highly recommended, and we will be back.
- Neta (10/5): - You have to eat here. The food is phenomenal and big portions. Super cool environment in bar and restaurant. 10 desserts to choose from, all homemade, great cocktails. Rooms are simple but clean. And place was nice and quiet.
- Robert (10/5): - Very cozy bed and breakfast like feel. The pub was wonderful and the people were very friendly.
- Thomas (10/5): - Everything was with the p price
- Maria Paz (2/5): - No A/C, thank goodness they had electric fan.
No elevator.
I kept bumping onto the sharp corner of the metal bed frame!
- Martha (10/5): - The whole place was delightful. The location was easy to find. Parking was effortless. The view was lovely.
- Melissa (6/5): - The room was a bit stuffy without great air flow and a dog barked every morning. It did have a frig which was nice, but no way to make coffee in the room.
- Curtis (10/5): - Have stayed here before but did not stay this time as family found other more suitable lodging.
- Jeremy (10/5): Affordable and comfortable - It was very affordable and everything was great! Will be back next time we come back.
- Melissa (8/5): - My husband and I stayed at Jay Village Inn because we had a wedding 5 minutes up the road. Check in and check out was extremely easy, and the staff that we interacted with were very friendly. We stayed in room 14, it was on the smaller side which we did not mind as we just needed the room for one night, a place to lay our head down. The room was very clean. The room had a mini fridge, no microwave, a desk and cable tv, no a/c but a fan and the window opens for fresh air. They have an outdoor pool and a dry sauna on site. They have a restaurant down stairs. We did not eat there due to having a very restricted diet for health/ allergy reasons. They are less than 10 minutes from Jay Peak Resort. We would book again, but maybe in another room if our stay is longer than 1 night.
- Heather (8/5): Good location, great value, excellent food! - This is a great value option for Jay, VT. I have stayed here twice and the best part of this hotel, is that it has an amazing restaurant. The food is the bomb! The rooms are outdated, but clean, and the location couldn't be better. Worth it!
- peter (2/5): - the room was unexceptable so we had to rent a room at a different hotel
