Guest Reviews
- jean claude (10/5): everithyng is just a few minute away - "Great, it's convenient especially for grocery shopping." notting
- Gordon (9/5): 2 night stay for medical appointments - It was quiet and comfortable The parking area needed to be cleared of snow badly
- Shamus (2/5): Bad - Massive dip in the mattress, smelt dirty, felt dirty. Don’t recommend.
- Steven (8/5): - The property is run down!! The room had a hole in the wall. The bed absolutely sucked.
- Tai Hsin (5/5): - None Look like we are bad guide.
- Dwayne (10/5): - Clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Would recommend to anyone.
- Chris (10/5): - Nice clean place to stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stinkey - Room stunk
- Paul Benjamin (7/5): -
- Michael Riedelmeier (7/5): -
- Juanita (8/5): - How clean the room was Things was great
- Kathy (3/5): - Good location Ended up with RCMP trying to get someone out of the motel, no room check in for towels etc and we were there 3 days. Not very friendly or hospitable.
- Raji (5/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): Roof, TV, bed, AC... Just what we wanted for a decent price. - The building is old and looks like hell from the outside but the room was remodeled well and was surprisingly nice.
- Chakaza (8/5): It was fairly good - The staff was very helpful
Bedsheets where clean
Bed was comfortable
Location close to food outlets There was no lotion and body wash
No cartoon channels for kids
- InterraPlan (8/5): - Nice quiet & clean room unit $110 with comfortable bed and good tv/wifi. Some minor repairs needed for next stage of renovation .. extras like coffee maker, cups & clothing hooks would be good idea. Service was prompt & considerate.
- Scott (6/5): - It’s right on Main Street Fort St. John which is a very pleasant area. The building itself is showing its age but the room was clean and comfortable.
- Heather (2/5): - The fridge didnt work so whatever food i had left couldnt be frozen. I quietly a hot plate to make a burger or two a night. When a cooked a third burger a smoke alarm went off and he had firefighters at my door saying " thereyre coming for me".
He told to complain about the fridge and still hasnt done anything about it.
Now it costs to much to stay here and he told me it is a non cooking room.
I feel that is unacceptable as if the fridge worked my hot plate wouldnt have been overy used.
- Marina (1/5): Won’t stay again - Location was quiet Beyond run down. No room cleaning service. Beds were lumpy. Dirty. No extras like shampoo or soap. No where to hang towels. Two towels for a room that sleeps four. Had to take our own garbage out. The bedding was dirty and had to remake our own bed after we tracked down sheets. The tub handle was stripped and it was a miracle to shower. the a/c quit working the second night. the freezer door was busted off so not useable. the door had been kicked in and was bent. Door frames broken and patched but never fully repaired. Daylight under the door so mice will be an issue. no screen on the windows that was broken. Heat obviously didn’t work as we had a plug in portable room heater.
- Senika (1/5): Bad - Very unclean and poorly lit, no heat, I don't think the deadbolt worked.
- Sonia (2/5): - Unfortunately, I had a bad experience the last time I went there the room they put me in was dirty and had the last person stuff still in it. I had to switch rooms and the lady running the desk said the room is clean. What’s the problem? Would not stay here again it’s very rundown and not very welcoming.
- Julie (6/5): No Night Personnel - The check in clerk was unprofessional seemed annoyed. He checked us into a room that smelled of smoke-all rooms were said to be non smoking-had to request a change. During the night people were yelling and talking loudly outside in the parking lot-no night watchman on duty apparently.
They need to have a no smoking policy and a disturbance clause signed at check in-there was no paperwork offered at all.
The room was clean and beds comfortable, but would not recommend, for the noisy guests.
- Parveen (4/5): - Room that we res
- Nolan (10/5): - Very nice owners
- Cory (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kristy (5/5): I’ve stayed at motel 6’s in the past and this one is the bottom of the barrel. Very run down, rude staff, and no snow re - The price Cleanliness and staff.
- Robert (8/5): Very good - Breakers kept tripping
- Michael (6/5): it was just fine - No breakfast and you got what you paid for
- Jeffery (6/5): - Again no coffee pot, not happy
- Braydon (4/5): Disappointing -
- Andrea (6/5): - Not a bad place to stay, cheap and comfy!
- Cynthia (6/5): Pleasant - No breakfast. Staff was great. No coffee No glasses. No ice. Wire hanging out of pole lamp. Booked smoking room. That was stated on our confirmation. Didn’t have a smokeing room.
- Pater (4/5): Disappointing - Beds were comfy There wasn't any hot water or a coffee pot
- Gabriel (2/5): - It’s the first time that we go into a motel and did not even have glasses to be able to make ourselves a drink we have to go to a store buy glasses some ice and come back down when we try to take a shower there’s no hot water no coffee in the room it is not a 3 1/2 star it’s a Tameze no more than one the floor will not clean we couldn’t walk what are we getting our feet dirty
- Cliff (10/5): - Room was clean. Vicinity nice
- Joe (2/5): - There was so much noise all over everything rattled and banged, and I don’t know whether they were putting new flooring in at night, but there was just so much hammering and crap going on couldn’t sleep
- Denise (6/5): Pleasant - The bed was very comfortable The bed was very comfortable being put up on second level when I requested a ground level room due to health issues when booking a month in advance. Staff helped me carry luggage up but when Checking out at 6 am I had to carry it down by myself. I have heart issues..
There were 2 nights I was woken up by other guest fighting and yelling
No coffee pots in rooms
- 575carlosh (10/5): nice quiet clean - the place to go if you are from fort nelson, nice rooms, quiet, central. accepts ESS. the room was extremely clean , with soft pillows . Had the best night sleep in ages . bathroom was clean and plenty of towels. they have taken precious reviews into account and have actually improved this motel, not bad.
- Heath (8/5): Very good - The room was unbelievably warm lol.
- Tara (6/5): Pleasant - location very noisy
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cam (4/5): - Room smelled like smoke. No hot water in shower
- Samer (5/5): Bad experience with the front desk and checking in early - I guess it was a bit cheaper than other places. - I called to check if I can do an early check in, they said yes, but when I showed up a different person was at the front desk and did not let me check in. I have already checked out from my previous stay (even though I could have stayed longer in my previous stay if they told me I can not check in over the phone...which is understandable). So that wasn't the best start.
- Room was okay, not spotless or the cleanest, but expected since it isn't a 5 star hotel.
- Doug (8/5): - Good value, quiet, good location
- Jody (4/5): Disappointing - The price Everything but the price
- Etienne (8/5): - I enjoyed my stay. It was close to a grocery store and bus stops, etc. I would stay here again.
- Carlos (8/5): Very good -
- Maureen (8/5): - Super comfortable beds and pillows. Had a full sized oven in our kitchenette but no coffee pot
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (7/5): Good - The manager allowed me an early check-in. Which was much needed after very long bus ride. The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Great room for the price. Will stay there again.
- Gerald (8/5): Fort Saint John Motel 6 - Good value convenient to good restaurants. It's pretty run down but then again it is a Motel 6 and the parking is kind of tight especially if you're towing something. Not a place I would bring my family but it's safe and has a bed and shower which is all I needed.
- Shirley (1/5): Booked online got to motel doors were locked no body came to let me in Had to find a different hotel - They close and lock the doors at 11 pm No one was there. Your website should not take reservations for arrivals after 11pm Finally got a number to call to speak to someone was told my reservation was not showing up and they close the doors at 11 pm Sorry he couldn’t help me and would cancel my reservation in the morning if it shows up. Not impressed, but found a nicer hotel Would not recommend staying there, from the outside looked old and run down,so I am sure the rooms would be the same and definitely no help from the guy who answered the phone Tried the doorbell for about 5 minutes and nobody came to answer. It was only about 11:10 pm so not that late I am assuming whoever was working just couldn’t be bothered. How can you run a hotel and not have an employee or owner in the building, I am sure that would be breaking the law. I know as I worked in a hotel for 17 years and this would never happen Needs to be checked into
- Mandy (1/5): DIRTY DIRTY - Room was VERY DIRTY bathroom DIRTY
Stuff left in Fridge from previous Guests DIRTY ROOM
- Ken (8/5): - The only problem was the walk ways and stairs not cleaned of snow and ice
- Mccharles (5/5): Passable -
- Jonathan (2/5): - U didnt have the room you advertised
- Jared (4/5): - We had to change rooms 3 times. First room kept blowing breakers, so had no power or heat and it was -40. Taken to next room and would not stay as heater was leaking all over floor as it was freeon. Next room had a night with no water as lines froze. So moved to the last room. Did not receive a refund. Had to book 2 more nights because roads to bad to travel then gave me same price as I original book. Didnt offer anything just not price that is posted.
- Terylee (2/5): - Room was a good price, place was easy to find.
However, The overpowering smell of some sort of cleaner was gross. Hair in both beds was disgusting. Then the heater wouldn’t stop running. Was so hot all night. Couldn’t open the window because it was screwed shut. Then people banging on doors and yelling late at night. All in all had a restless horrible night.
- Trevor (1/5): Bad -
- Nicole (1/5): Bad -
- Filip (2/5): - They was no heating in the room. On that day FSJ was -30C and it was warmer outside then inside the room. I got my refund and left.
- Gunjandeep (1/5): Bad - Nothing. Very bad experience. Nightmare Everything.
- Chris (5/5): Passable -
- Tina (5/5): mot bad for the price - the price its old, the housekeeper came clean fhr room never took the used towels after 4 days and no tiolet tissue left and weird but didnt make the bed. The towel u step on after a shower she just put it back on the tub . i know it was cheap But thats not cool thr bed was soft and i lke that No coffee maker in the room .
- Erin (2/5): Terrible-No heat in building ☹️ - No heat in the entire building-small 1500W heaters in each room-breakers blowing constantly-staff obviously sick of hearing the complaints-talked to a worker who had stayed all week and it’s been like this for awhile??? How can a hotel with ELECTRICITY issues be open? There was a water line burst LAST FALL and apparently this is part of that issue.
Also mouldy ceiling in the bathroom and no bathtub plugs so had to use a facecloth to plug the drain to bath.
- Dusseault (5/5): If you can afford it pay for a better hotel - I like that the room was cheap. I just needed a nap and it was fine for that. I did decide to have a shower...I found a silverfish in the tub which I rinsed down the drain...not the worst think.. what was really awful was the red spatter on the inside of the shower curtain that looked like blood. That was eerie and super gross. I'm glad I wasn't planning on staying the night because that creeped me out.
- James A (4/5): - No heat, space heaters provided. Which would blow the breaker after being on for 30 min.
- Sayyam (5/5): average motel - location only cleanliness, lack of facilities
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Leigh (8/5): Very good -
- Trina (7/5): Good -
- Jaime (9/5): Clean, comfortable and cheap - For the price, this place is fantastic. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, nice towels, decent size room and TV, very clean, great location, working fridge was silent. It is an old motel and it shows so if those little things bother you, it may not be for you, but for cheap, comfortable clean stay, this place is perfect Old base heaters didn't work in my room, used provided portable heater which was good enough for me. Not sure how great that would be during winter.
I think a little artwork on the walls could go a long way:)
- Stephan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Frazer (10/5): Good - It's. Was Great I would. Go there again.
- Rea (8/5): Very good -
- Lazzari (6/5): Pleasant -
- Verónica (1/5): don’t worth it - nothing was really dirty and the heating system didn’t work.
- denise (10/5): - Was very quiet, I was on a medical trip from Fort Nelson, bc. Really needed the quite. Thank you it was a really enjoyable stay 😊❤️Thank you so much!!!!
- Brian (7/5): Good - Clean room. Bed was comfortable. Tv didn't work.
- Trevor (1/5): I am writing a peace for the global news for the utter rip off we had for 2 weeks we stayed there - nothing Heat didn’t work
AC didn’t work
no bathtub plug
tv didn’t work
lady at desk was extremely rude to me my wife and my boss who paid for my room .
no coffee or pot
microwave didn’t work.
and she charged us full price for every single night I have never been more passed off and ripped off in my life my booking.com and MOTEL 6
- Kevin (1/5): my plane landed at midnight but their front desk closed at 11pm so I had to get a room at the Howard Johnson -
- Roxanne (4/5): Disappointing - No heat, no face clothes, no plug for the bath. Pictures didn't match the rooms
- Christine (8/5): was great for getting some rest and getting back on the road - easy to find . clean and comfortable needed a group floor room
- Sandra (5/5): Passable -
- Joe (4/5): - Nothing
- Trina (7/5): Good -
- Kenneth (6/5): - The last day of my stay they didnt clean my room or bring fresh towels
- Tina (10/5): Exceptional - Was quiet. Comfortable bed.
- Buster (1/5): Bad -
- Buster (1/5): Bad -
- Candice (2/5): - Drug addicts and drunk people everywhere. Music so loud in the room next to us it was shaking the TV on the wall mount. No staff after 11:00 p.m. available . Found the desk no staff available. I'm a small female and I took my son down to the front desk and pushed the doorbell and stood there for almost half an hour no staff arrived dark corridor not lit with scary people everywhere. Did not feel safe at this hotel whatsoever. At 4:00 in the morning when the music still was not stopping and no staff available to help I called the RCMP.
In fact I called the RCMP three times that night to come deal with the person next door and the drunk woman who was naked smashing on my window trying to get in.
I have never had such a horrible experience in my life I would have rather to have slept in my car.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone!
To top it off after a full day of driving I was unable to bathe myself or my children the tub was not cleaned room was unclean and no staff available to even provide cleaning supplies!
- Frederick (8/5): Very good -
- Doug (8/5): - Good location, quiet and comfortable.
- Maninder (5/5): Passable - washroom door lock was broken there was no cups to drink water
- Jonas (8/5): - Its accessuble to all the establishment
- Kelly (1/5): beyond bad - got move to another motel that was just as bad.
- Jason (10/5): All the 5 starz without the 5 star price - Clean, friendly, close to downtown and the price is right.
- Linda (6/5): - Beds were comfortable and clean, but tub and shower were in disrepair, handle fell off of shower, could get scalded if hot water was on full.
Bolt on door entrance didn't work, but secure otherwise.
Overall service was fine.
- Sheri (4/5): - Need better housekeeping
- Scott (2/5): - Booked through Expedia..got to property front desk said they had no rooms as they had no heat in any of the rooms. Said I would not be charged for a room, but they lied & I was charged.
