- Damian (1/5): Treat their customers with contempt. - Looked nice in the photos They cancelled my 5 night booking for work last minute and said it was due to unexpected extensions work. Oh, we’ve suddenly decided to do an extension…as you do. The lady who I spoke to on the phone was however very nice, very comfortable in apologising for ‘any inconvenience this caused’ and was then also very generous in then offering me the opportunity to cancel free of charge! Thankyou. Not everyday you get such generosity and care.

Clean, safe, and soundproof - no noise from doors or other apartments. Security codes to enter the building and the apartment. The availability of car parking is hit and miss, and this time there wasn’t a space available so we had to leave our fully loaded car in Queens road car park which was secure, but I wish there were more spaces available at HoF.

So that was a fantastic surprise. We really enjoyed our stay and would book again. There wasn't really anything, not to like. If I was being extremely picky, we did ask if we could check out at 11am instead of 10am, we did ask on Wednesday as we were not checking out until Saturday, but we were told no. But, it wasn't a major problem.

- Rachael (9/5): Surprising little gem - Was surprised at what a little gem this place was. Only booked because I needed parking and even adding the parking fee on, the price was so decent compared to hotels nearby. I was given an upgrade to the two bed apartment when I checked in for some reason, even though I was on my own so that was nice. the apartment was lovely and clean, and even had a terrace. The little breakfast package and pint of milk in fridge was a nice touch. Location was great too as easy to drive in to and also only a short walk to the train station. The blinds on the bedroom windows didn’t block out the light. Could do with some blackout curtains or something in addition to the blinds. The chairs in the living area were not very comfy. You could feel the springs through the very thin “cushion” on top.
- Ve-yin (10/5): My Best Stay Yet on Booking.com - I loved that this was a serviced apartment with a concierge. It was impeccably clean, fully equipped with kitchen facilities, and included thoughtful extras I hadn’t expected. I especially appreciated the two packets of Dorset cereals and the fresh milk in the fridge – it meant that breakfast was taken care of. I was also pleasantly surprised by how quiet the apartment was, despite its proximity to the town centre. This is more of a cautionary note than a complaint, as I don’t think the concierge could have done anything about it. Given the high demand for parking in Reading, your allocated space might be taken if you leave it while the concierge is off duty (between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.).

- SHAUN (8/5): Great apartments in Reading - Had a 5 night stay in these apartments for a work trip. A few colleagues have stayed here before and recommended them. On arrival the staff were really helpful and that continued through the week. The apartment itself was clean and was a decent size. The bed was really comfortable, I was very impressed with that. My only gripe is that the blinds in the bedroom were completely hopeless. I was woken every morning around 6am because the bedroom was so light. If they put decent curtains up, it would be a 5 star review.

Kitchen had the basic equipment including some baking dishes with lids that could be used as containers. Rooms were reasonably comfortable. The light coming into the room made it too difficult to sleep even though it was winter so got dark early but there are a lot of city lights outside and the blinds aren’t sufficient.

The heating/aircon always seemed to be running and making noise, difficult to get right. I paid extra to have a bath tub. But apparently my last night it had a leak onto the gym below which meant I couldn't use it (and it was an awkward experience that could be avoided if the hotel kept up with their maintenance) The building was kinda loud with lots of noise from the hallways and the gym below. Just an meh stay overral. Good location tho.

The public areas like hallway's, lifts and entry areas definitely indicated they were not regularly cleaned. The deck on Level 3 had an overflowing rubbish bin as was every ashtray. On a plus the room was quiet, had opening windows and the air conditioning and washer dryer worked well.

Everything was clean, working and newly refurbished. Generally speaking, it was a very comfortable stay, The window blinds don't really close stop the sunlight from coming in in the early morning, so we woke up at 6.30-7.00 every morning and we couldn't sleep very much for this reason. Luckily for us we were on a business trip, so we would have to wake up anyways, but this might be a bit annoying for a holiday stay.

- Susan (10/5): - Had a great 2 night stay at House of Fisher. The staff were exceedingly helpful in recommending interesting places to visit. The apartment hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Reading and within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants

The bathroom & kitchen were a good size and the the apartment was furnished with convenient desks, chairs and a sofa etc. Staff are polite and happy to support. House Keeping is not included which for the price you would hope they would include it.
- Pamela (9/5): Everything I wanted and helped to save money on being able to take own food and drink in a expensive - Excellent facilities, very friendly helpful reception staff, offered discounts in nearby restaurants, lots of pubs also and a well known supermarkets nearby which is great when in a apart-hotel Needs some written instructions on what the symbols on electric oven mean for those like me who have never had electric ever ( burnt something) and on how to operate the fan and heating regulator, I should have checked on internet in hindsight or gone to staff but had had some probs with tv and did not want to keep hassling the staff, tried to work out, but simple instructions would really help

- D Scott (8/5): - Perfect location in Reading. Short walk to the town center, shopping, dining and the train station. The apartment was nice but was in need of some maintenance. Definitely above average compared to other locations at the same price.

After our day trips, House of Fisher was the perfect place to rest my aching feet and get ready for the next adventure. It is clean, comfortable and has everything one needs.The location was perfect. I will definitely stay there again.

- Anonymous (6/5): Good location and service from staff, and that's all. - Good location, convenient walk to city centre The property was as though located in a black hole where no signal could be reached. I could never access the mobile network within the property, no matter I was in my room, the co-working space nor the property entrance. The WiFi was unstable neither, despite maintenance on the second day of my stay. In addition, there were constant unexplained disruption to electricity supply. Last but not least, SKY TV coverage as promoted on the banner placed at the entrance of the property had never worked throughout my stay.

- Robertosm (8/5): Very good - The apartment is very centric and spacious. Walking distance from Reading station. The kitchen is full equipped. I enjoyed the welcome pack. The WiFi signal was not strong enough. You needed to find the right spot in the apartment.
