• Xavier (7/5): EMPLACEMENT ET VUE AGREABLE MAIS CHAMBRE PAS DU TOUT AU NIVEAU - Personnel accueillant et serviable , situation géographique de l'hôtel bonne , très jolie vue dominante sur la mer l'équipement et l'aménagement de la chambre pas du tout au niveau du standard et des prix pratiqués par l'établissement, on paie le prix d'un 5* pour une qualité d'un 2*, cela est incroyable que la chambre soit aussi peu aménagée, pas de robe de chambre; pas de patères pour les serviettes; pas de support pour papier toilette, lequel est juste posé sur l'évier; pas de mouchoirs en papier, juste, le strict minimum que l'on trouve dans les premières catégories d'hôtel, alors que les espaces communs sont bien pensés et agréablement aménagés . Les chambres ne sont pas du tout à la hauteur des tarifs pratiqués .

This will be our villa of choice every time we visit Praiano! The staff is at your service to make your stay one you will remember! The breakfast and lunch is superb. The villa takes great pride is the service they provide during your stay.

• Nicky (7/5): Good value, cute boutique hotel in a good location. - The location in Praiano was very convenient and having a just stop right behind the hotel was very convenient to get into Positano. I think this hotel represents good value given that the Amalfi coast is incredibly expensive. If you don’t have expectations then I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised but if you are wanting service (eg. By the pool service, pool towels, easily ordering drinks and water brought to you) then you may look to stay somewhere else. It’s a cute hotel that represents good value. After reading reviews and looking at their wonderful and very professional and modern website I expected there to be more service but it lacked it for me and felt more on the air bnb style of accommodation.

Le petit déjeuner est top et Tomaso mène ça de main de main de maitre Mention spéciale pour Marika qui a su nous conseiller merveilleusement pour les restaurants et la sortie bateau. Außergewöhnlich freundliches und aufmerksames Servicepersonal. Sehr schöner, relativ großer Poolbereich mit separatem Whirlpool auf verschiedenen Terrassen der großzügigen Gartenanlage, von der man einen wundervollen Blick auf die Küste und das Meer hat. Sehr ruhig gelegen. Mehrere kleine, gute Restaurants und Minimarket in der Nähe. Bushaltestelle nach Amalfi und Positano ca. 400 m entfernt. Lokale Bushaltestelle bis Positano direkt oberhalb des Hauses in 50 m. Relativ kleines Zimmer, sehr gut ausgestattet, mit schönem Bad und großer eigener Terrasse mit Garten. Alles sehr sauber und hochwertig ausgestattet: ein sehr schönes Boutique-Hotel! Das Zimmer könnte etwas größer sein mit etwas mehr Ablagemöglichkeiten.

• Kathleen (10/5): - Wow where do I begin… this was the first hotel of our honeymoon and we never wanted to leave!! One of the best hotels we ever stayed at. The room was secluded, with a balcony and view of the ocean. You can hear chickens and roosters in the mornings which was a unique touch. The property is amazingly well kept. The pool area especially was amazing and so relaxing with the view of the ocean. The breakfast was awesome and the waiter was so so nice and calm, very attentive. Their staff is amazing and helpful. Cleaning service also was awesome, they made your room spotless each day. The cleanliness of the property was impeccable. The experience was unforgettable. The most relaxing place we could have ever gone to for our honeymoon. For couples this place is a haven and perfect escape!

The food and beverage for both breakfast and lunch are incredible and the fact that they source as much as possible from their very own garden and other local sources really impressed me. Small room and bathroom. The plug in air fresheners (we removed). The smell in the room was unpleasant without the plug in as well. Parking expensive ( but everything in the Amalfi coast is)

The hotel has a perfect, strategic location, the local bus stops right outside, no stairs to climb, and other buses are just a short walk away along peaceful mountain paths that never feel tiring. Stay in Praiano! Perfect location away from the crowds of Amalfi and Positano. We stayed in the double room with sea view and terrace. All the staff were extremely kind; Marika and Tomaso deserve all the praise as they were absolutely lovely. Housekeeping went above and beyond, keeping our room immaculate and even organizing my creams and products neatly. These thoughtful touches made us feel completely at home. Breakfast every morning was the best, with an incredible view of the entire ocean. They offer a great menu selection and a wonderful buffet, with fruits and vegetables grown right at the hotel. We also enjoyed lunch by the swimming pool, and Tomaso made us his famous Blueberry Spritz refreshing and absolutely perfect! Everything was so perfect!

Gorgeous views of the sea from the pool, lounge area and rooms. Great restaurants near by We had a total of 3 rooms. Room numbers 11 and 12 had a constant smell, especially room 12. Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done, there were no more available rooms. We weren't offered anything in exchange for the inconvenience, unfortunately we were basically told that we were imagining the smell lol. Anyway we made the best of it and the rest of the property is great.

The staff were all friendly, helpful and lovely. The food yummy... I highly recommend this hotel. I think the only let down were the ammenties in the room. Not great quality. Shampoo / Conditioners never replaced. Coffee and sugar neither. Only two thin towels provided daily.

• Abbi Williams (10/5): Totally stunning and immaculately designed - This place is totally stunning. The hosts are incredible and had full contact before arrival with all the information we needed for check in and how and where to park the car from Marika. Once we were checked in with all the information we needed about breakfast, lunch and check out we were then given some places for drink and dinner recommendations and shown to our room. The room was stunning, all rooms are well decorated with an immaculate finish (something we have found to not be the case in other places) Other reviews talk about pillows but I can ensure you there are soft pillows and and there are beautiful draws to put your clothes in as mentioned by another review. They have listened to everything. Every part of this Villa has such attention to detail from the art work, soft furnishings and ceramics. We had a lovely view from our balcony and a fabulous hot tub bath with views of the sea (however it does take a while to fill so be prepared to sit with a drink on the balcony whist you wait) You then head down to several levels taking in the scenery from the beautiful and sizeable pool and sunbathing area, down to another level with a grass terrace with a hot tub and then several layers of stunning gardens with every fruit and vegetable you could possibly think of, they grow them. The delight of this is that breakfast and lunch is all from their own garden and it’s delicious. Lunch was incredible and breakfast is the best we have had in Italy yet. All Of this topped off with a fabulous huge cup of coffee and the smile of Tomaso. Yes it’s expensive to park the car but we learned it’s far more expensive travelling and trying to park by car in the neighbouring places. Trust us, pay for the car parking here and travel by bus. The bus stop is down the road 2€ a person into Amalfi and the experience is great as they rule the road and you are high up with the views of the coast. Amazing place. Amazing people. Amazing food. Will be back thanks so much Absolutely nothing. I ran out of room in the things I like. You must go to Il Pirate bar for drinks and food. The views are amazing. Plus the street down has all of the Bob art ceramics on the wall. It’s so gorgeous.

• Claire (10/5): Highly recommend this fabulous small hotel, we’d happily have stayed longer! - This is a fabulous gem of a hotel in Praiano (one of the quieter towns along the coast but with excellent restaurants and bars/cafes). Really comfortable, beautifully decorated and immaculately kept inside and out. The gardens are a lovely feature and the terrace is a great place to eat. The breakfast buffet was excellent with fresh produce from the garden, delicious daily baking and egg dishes cooked to order. Staff are really friendly and helpful and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Villa Gianlica to anyone wanting to explore the Amalfi coast. Can’t fault this hotel!

The room was clean and comfortable and had a big balcony. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Tomaso. Location is perfect for wandering round Praiano and for getting to other places along the coast. If getting the bus to Praiano with suitcases I’d recommend getting off at bus stop 9 and walking up the road rather than the steps from bus stop 10 as Google recommends! I found the mattress and pillows a little hard but my partner loved it, so each to their own! We also used the hot tub in the room one night but it took forever to fill and wasn’t particularly hot in the end.

• Malek (10/5): - Amazing stay in Villa Gianlica ! The hotel is scrupulously clean and so quiet and peaceful. Our room was completely on its own with an amazing terrace overlooking the sea. Everywhere else around is so busy so the hotel is absolutely perfect to relax in. All the staff were so helpful, you feel that they are your friends. We had a problem with our car to the airport not turning up and Marika spent nearly 1.5 hours trying to get us a car to catch our flight, if it had not been for her we would have missed our flight. We will return here very soon for another stay.

We loved everything about this property! Easy walk to a handful of restaurants although we preferred lunch at Villa Gianlica as the food is picked fresh from the property. • Daniela (10/5): Went beyond all our expectations! - There is nothing not to like about Villa Gianlica! Marika and her team are exceptional. They go above and beyond to make you feel very comfortable and to get to know you. The pool bar food is amazing and cooked all with produce from their own gardens. Staying in Praiano is definitely the way to go. Not too busy compared to Positano or Sorrento. Would recommend renting a scooter from M.L Porter, 5 mins up the road. Makes travelling around the coast so easy. The only thing that slightly bothered us were the pillows. But I think Italy like a hard pillow.

• Harry (10/5): - We loved our stay at Villa Gianlica. High praise to the team who were exceptional hosts. Marika was so attentive, helpful and always keen to recommend places to visit and eat. Tomaso was the most kind and gentle man, very chatty and makes excellent coffee. Both were a real pleasure to meet. We felt very well looked after. The hotel was clean and our room was spacious. The views overlooking the sea from the hotel were second to none. They also have a garden where they grow their own produce which was available to eat at breakfast. The tomatoes and homemade fig jam were our particular favourites! Eggs were also available on request such as omelettes, fried eggs, scrambled etc. All delicious and set us up for the day! The hotel is in a great location, with a bus stop just outside. The walk to the marina is only 15 minutes. Also, a good choice of restaurants nearby which was ideal as well. We would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back for a visit soon!
• Sarah (10/5): Excellent hotel - highly recommend. - This is a hidden gem - well maintained, beautiful pool and gardens. Room was a good size, with modern bathroom and a small private terrace with great views. Typical European buffet breakfast, eggs available FOC on request. Small lunch menu available - all excellent. Fully stocked bar - only available until about 3pm I think. There was rarely any staff in the hotel (except in the outside bar/breakfast area) - so nobody around to help with the numerous bus timetables etc. I resorted to contacting the manager view booking app - not great. The rooms have no drawers / storage for clothes (a small hanging section but nothing else) - just mean having to have suitcases on the floor and unable to unpack 90% of items. there is room to add a chest of drawers - would be appreciated by females!

The staff were so friendly and helped us to organise a boat tour and another trip to Capri. They easily answered our emails and also organised return trips from Naples. Everyone was so friendly and thoug we tried to communicate in Italian they spoke English with us as well. The homemade breakfast with fresh produce from the garden was excellent and we often made it back for lunch so that we could have another meal prepared from the garden by the excellent chef. If we could rate it higher we would have. Absolutely recommend this place to everyone. It was all wonderful

Got my husband a dentist appointment and everything we needed . The food was the best we had at the pool bar . Pasta and eggplant delicious . The pool was perfect . And the grounds. Short walk downtown or to the beach . City and sita bus out front of hotel made everything easy .

Our room was so spacious and we had a stunning walkout patio. We had so much privacy. Our stay was a dream. Breakfast every morning was lovely and the staff was always amazing. Our only complaint is that we had gone to the front desk a few times needing some assistance and there were a few times there was no one there and had to come back at another time. However, we did always get assistance at some point and they helped us with a lot of requests.

Upon check-in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a refreshing drink that set the tone for our stay. Cute villa in Praiano that’s nears everything. However, it was Marika who truly made our experience exceptional. Her warmth and genuine desire to ensure our comfort were evident from the start. Marika went above and beyond to cater to our every need. She took the time to listen to our preferences and made thoughtful recommendations for local attractions, dining options, and hidden gems that we would have otherwise overlooked. Whether it was arranging transportation, providing insider tips, taking care of my grandma, Marika handled everything with grace and enthusiasm. It felt like we were being cared for by a dear friend rather than just a staff member. The villa itself was beautiful. Our room was spacious, and impeccably clean. The breathtaking views from our balcony were the perfect backdrop for morning coffee and evening sunsets. Every member of the staff at Hotel Villa Gianlica shared Marika's commitment to excellence. Was very disappointed to know I need to pay for a plastic coat 30 euros a night for my baby . There was nothing to welcome us in the room such as bottle of water or whatever etc . I would not recommend , in my opinion there is lots of choice around .

• Anthea (8/5): Very good - Clean, beautiful little oasis on the Amalfi coast, lovely helpful staff and wonderful breakfast with the added bonus that the fruit provided is grown in their own garden. Beds were a bit firm and pillows a bit high and firm for me.
• Chiara (10/5): One of the best hotels I have stayed in! - This hotel was absolutely amazing. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Positano. The pool area was perfect, it was so quiet we felt like we had the place to ourselves most days! We loved the addition of the inflatables in the pool that was very fun! Breakfast was small but had good choices to please everyone, and the lunch on offer was also really good. It’s around a 15 minute walk to the Marina and the beach, down lots of steps but the views make it all worth it. The staff are also lovely, and had arranged taxis and booked restaurants for us too. Overall, this hotel is absolutely stunning, and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful place to stay along the Amalfi coast! We stayed in room 10, and we would have liked a light on our terrace area so we could sit out at night as we would have been in the pitch black!
• Denise (7/5): Beautiful place!!! - Friendly and helpful staff. Amazing breakfast and view is spectacular. Loved our room. It was private and we had our own patio with phenomenal view! A bit remote but we were looking for a place that would be fairly quiet during summer high time for travellers and found it for the most part. Pool is quite small - while it’s nice to have a pool to cool off from the heat not very many people fit in so it was awkward to be so close to people you don’t know in the small pool.
• Emmacm (10/5): Praiano perfection - Everything was perfection. From communication prior to arrival and arranging an evening on their boat to see the coast through to daily interactions and recommendations to final goodbyes which I might add were very sad. I was not ready to leave. The hotel is simply stunning set on the side of Praiano cliffs with unhindered views of the gorgeous sea and sky. The hotel is made up of levels built into the cliff. On 3 the Hotel has created vegetable and fruit gardens all of which are used at breakfast, on the lunch menu and in your drinks. There is a level with shade from trees, a beautiful fountain, seats and books available. The next level has the perfect pool, shower, sun loungers with a lemon tree walk through to the dining area. The location for walking to the marina, shops and restaurants is perfect in distance but I warn you everything that goes up must come down. Be prepared The Amalfi Coast is not the place for you if you have mobility issues! I 100% recommend Villa Gianlica and all their wonderful people. Didn't like is highly overstated. I would have liked tea making facilities in the room. I am after all a tea loving Brit.

All the staff were very friendly and would always go out of their way to help……. Angelica even gave us a lift into the centre after she saw us walking along the road, we were thought was lovely gesture😁.
