Guest Reviews
- Patricia (8/5): - It was a convenient place for me
- Norman N (8/5): - This property was convenient for us as we were visiting a school nearby. Nice friendly staff and a good room made our stay a pleasant one.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well located, warmful staff, beautiful set up and quiet area
- Richard (6/5): - Generally very average, bathroom needs a full facelift. Staff very friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff and very nice gardens. Nice relaxing bar area.
- Kelly (8/5): - We chose this hotel based on past ratings and proximity to airport. We had a quick overnight stay. All staff were helpful and welcoming. Big thanks to the gentleman who stayed late and came in early to do our laundry as we were transitioning from a week of volunteer work to a week of vacation.
- Anton (8/5): Beautiful quite hospital lodge - Great hospitality, lovely garden, nice pool, good choice of tasty food. Would have been perfect except bed was quite uncomfortable - some hard bumps.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I loved every minute of my stay, so much that I wished I could stayed longer... They upgraded my room to an executive suite and that was a perfect Christmas gift...
- SammyM (10/5): - Great location. Situated in the in the peaceful suburbs of Lusaka. the facilities, staff and meals are amazing.
- Gord (8/5): - The gardens are fabulous, pool area is lovely and we liked that a lot of local people use this facility (a marriage proposal one night, several local conferences/meetings, wedding photos another day). staff were very helpful. Our first room was lovely: sliding doors to a terrace, well proportioned and furnished, though water pressure was a bit week. On our return a week later, our room was rather small and a bit shabby but still comfortable. There seems an ongoing issue getting the wifi to work with iPads, but give them a little time and they get it: either by rebooting their routers or actually handing you a router/extender to take to your room.
One note: If you are newbies to town/Zambia/Africa and ask for a cab to meet you or return you to the airport, they will do it, but they will charge K250 per person (about $25), but just grab a cab and negotiate the price upfront and you'll get the ride for K250 total for a couple.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Value for money - Room was okey. Too much noise outside. Food needs improvement especially breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Wonderful setting and attentive staff - Great value for money and a high level of cleanliness. Pool area was lovely and rooms set among walkways and gardens. Staff ver friendly and helpful
- Bryan (8/5): Go for the newer rooms - Some rooms are older and a bit cheaper, but they are not nearly as nice or comfortable. I would suggest one of their nicer rooms for a few more dollars-- they are worth it.
- Mikhail (10/5): - Thanks for amazing hospitality. It was pleasure staying at your place. Away from busy capital Lusaka nestled in secluded area with beautiful garden and amazing people. I want to thank both guys by the name Keith. They were very helpful, accommodating and absolutely amazing.
- Tony (8/5): Good Location for us - Had an enjoyable weeks' stay at this hotel. The location was good for Ng'Ombe compound, where we were working. The single rooms were basic but adequate for our needs (AC, fridge, fan, TV), but ensuite could be upgraded. The food at the restaurant was good quality food, and plenty of it . We had to have an early breakfast each day, and the kitchen staff were always willing to throw together an omelette, etc. Our only niggle was that we were given 1 sachet of coffee and 1 teabag on the first evening of arrival, and the concierge staff did not replace them when used. Despite asking the pleasant reception staff, they were not able to replenish them. It was only after my colleague complaining on a number of occasions that we received a couple of sachets of coffee. Despite that, the next day, no tea or coffee again!
Overall, a lovely, character-filled hotel, whose staff were all very friendly and pleasant. It's not a multinational chain, so there are some quirky aspects, but this adds to the positive feeling in the place.
- Alan J (8/5): - Nice quiet location with beautiful gardens where one can relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city. However it is somewhat remote and not that convenient to the malls; you require a taxi. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping needs a little work as we had to ask for insect spray (was provided) because mosquitoes were numerous and had to ask for new pillows twice as the ones provided were mildewed (should be replaced). Breakfast was good and evening meals were very good. Satellite TV was excellent with a wide selection of channels.
- Sue (6/5): Overnight stay before safari - We stayed 2 nights whilst waiting for our flights to Mfuwe. The hotel was very relaxing and had a nice pool area. There was a wedding function but we were never disturbed. A good option when needing to relax in Lusaka.
- Daran (8/5): Lovely gardens - Made a good choice. Lusaka isn't a city with a huge amount of variations or surprises in hotels, but this place was special. Lovely gardens.
- Bryan (8/5): Restful and laid out very well - The grounds are well land scaled, the staff very helpful. It was exactly what I needed.
- Brian (10/5): Spacious rooms and great price! - We spent two nights relaxing at The Palmwood Lodge. It was exactly what we needed. The grounds are beautiful and the room was so spacious, we were blown away. The Wifi was great too. The only thing missing was more natural light in the rooms (which are more like little apartments).
