• Terry (10/5): A beautiful, old hotel with lots of charm and charming people. We felt like family. It was wonderful - We were greeted by staff each time we came to the hotel. They were warm and welcoming and took care of our needs like family. They remembered our preferences and went the extra mile for us.

• Neil Franklin (9/5): Classy hotel with lots of history - great location, fantastic staff and meals. - Excellence location, breakfast was fantastic. The rooms are dated as is the hotel but it doesn't change the comfort levels. Beautiful building with lots of history. On-Site Restaurant, "The Wild Fig" is really special. The thing to appreciate most about this hotel is the Staff. Thanks very much. The room needs a bit of work on upgrading some of the electrical plugs for modern devices and a Smart TV instead of a DSTV bouquet would be recommended but these are minor issues.

• Rob (9/5): - Mooie ruime kamers. Uitgebreid ontbijt. Fijne ligging t.o.v. diverse attracties in Kaapstad. Mooi zwembad. Naastgelegen restaurant Thecwild Fidge is een echte aanrader. Bij het ontbijt was personeel niet altijd vriendelijk. Er was op zondag een klein festival met wel wat geluidsoverlast. Volgens de receptie medewerker klopte de prijs van Booking.com niet. We zouden moeten bijbetalen. Uiteindelijk hoefde dit toch niet.

• KBCH (8/5): - Die Lage ist super, das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Pool ist sauber und angenehm. Die Betten sind bequem. Leider habe ich die falsche Zimmerklasse gebucht. Nächstes Mal unbedingt wieder eine Suite mieten mit direktem Zugang zum Garten. Das Zimmer im 1. Stock mit kleinem Balkon hat mir nicht so gut gefallen. Es ist mein Fehler!

• Mats (5/5): Nahe an der Flughafenautobahn, sauber - Wir haben uns aufgrund der zentralen Lage mit schnellem Zugang zur Flughafenautobahn für diese Unterkunft entschieden. Die Zimmer sind funktional und sauber, teilweise ist der Weg dorthin (wie im Fall von Zimmer 163) lange. Das Personal ist freundlichund gibt sich Mühe. Ich spreche zwar fliessend Englisch und verstehe Afrikaans, die Kommunikation mit der Rezeption haperte aber doch ziemlich, was ich von so einem renomierten Hotelnamen nicht erwartet habe. Aufgrund einer Baustelle gibt es draussen überall Staub und Schmutz. Einige Zimmer sind sehr weit weg, der Weg dorthin mit schwerem Gepäck ist mühselig. (Verstaubte) Kofferrolleys stehen zwar herum, Angestellte, die sie bedienen gibt es aber nicht.

Lovely selection of fresh fruit at breakfast Maintenance very poor , only the large courtyard was well maintained . Cheap interior finishes which was sad as previously was in keeping with the building . Awful evening meal experience. Manager refused to see me about concerns / complaints . Rooms outside space VERY badly maintained I used to stay here regularly in the past before the current company took it over . Shame they didn't maintain good standards . Loud building work next door and from motorway . No real choice for vegan guests

• Mark (5/5): VERY disappointed - The front of house staff and those in the dining room /room service very friendly and helpful. However when I wanted to raise my concerns with the manager , they were always to busy ! Badly maintained and run . The room we first had was supposed to have a patio garden . When we opened the door it was full of months old used tissues and cigarette butts and old leaves and branches . Had our first evening meal at the hotel that was poor quality and the chicken wrap soggy and uneatable , my salad very basic. Never ate another evening meal there . On one of the breakfasts the bacon was cold and my partner was told they had forgotten to put the warmer on to keep food fresh. Vegan. ...for me . No oat milk throughout the whole stay , only soya and very little choice of food . On our return to the hotel we were told after booking in that there was no water . We had travelled all day so was unable to take a shower and no water left in our room . Unable to flush the toilet all night so was rather unpleasant by the morning. A hotel I have stayed in many times in the past , but certainly never again under this company .

And the staff was very friendly and helpful! I am very glad to choose this place for our stay. Just the bath tub was leaking, but we told to the staff this, so I think this has been fixed already

Staff are super friendly. I always get a good night's rest and starting the day with a fantastic breakfast is second to none. Room service from either restaurant is always excellent as well. we stayed in room 116 and the aircon unit is outdated and so loud. we eventually just switched it off because we couldn't hear the tv at all.
