Guest Reviews
- Vala (7/5): Good -
- Mattar (10/5): Great stay! - The location is great, just steps from main restaurants in Trastevere. The host, Leonardo was super nice and helpful.
- Jenna (9/5): Lovely stay! - Staff were awesome and very helpful. The location was perfect with a short walk to a lot of great restaurants and shops. It’s a bit far from the Trastevere train station if you’re arriving there, but there is a direct bus from Roma Termini.
- Gustavo (8/5): Very good - Nice place
Nice location
Nice food near
Very nice
- Peter (9/5): Enjoyed the stay - Breakfast was a coffee & croissant
- Tiana (9/5): I would recommend this apartment to someone traveling for 3 or 4 days. - The location is excellent, just a 20-minute walk from the Pantheon. The apartment is clean. I would like to commend the host, Leonardo, for his hospitality. The elevator is quite small, and the apartment we stayed in faced the main boulevard, so it was noisy.
- Alan (5/5): Passable - The location, very friendly welcome and advice No hot water throughout. Ants which we now discover are biting ants
- Lior (5/5): There is no hot water in the shower - Location is perfect.
The apartment was clean and looks good and we really loved this place.
Leonardo (The host) is a very nice person. There is only cold water at the shower- you can push and try and wait at least 1 hour for hot water- and then it's hot for two minutes, but there it's not really water (only water drops). Unfortunately, nothing changed with that over 5 nights that we slept there. I founded a gym for washing my hair.
- Daniel (2/5): No Hot Water! - The host Leonardo was really nice and informative. We had no hot water the entire stay. Was told to get ahold of the maintanence guy the morning we were flying out that was nowhere to be seen...so no hot water the whole time. Zero...zilch
- Annette (9/5): Rome break - We stayed 2 nights. Excellent option, ideal location. Easy walking to all sights. Accomodation perfect. Breakfast at coffee shop a nice extra. Would highly recommend.
- Pauli (8/5): Comfortable affordable stay - Balcony Snall
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - The room was very nice, and had a balcony with a lovely view! Good location in Trastevere.
Also the owner Leonardo was really nice and helpful!
- Jordan (10/5): Great stay - Very good communication. Very clean. Good value. All good!
- Nikolaos (9/5): Superb - It was very clean and comfortable and the location was the best ! Also the host was very friendly !
- Rosie (7/5): Good value stay in central Trastaverre - This is a good value stay in a great location. It was clean and the bed was comfortable, shower was fine. Leonardo was really accommodating and friendly and sent me help on how to get to the place when a train strike was on. I wasn’t expecting it to be a converted apartment hotel - I was a bit unlucky with some noisy neighbours but not much the hotel could have done about it.
- Alma (9/5): Superb -
- Beaurd (7/5): Good -
- Emily (9/5): Superb -
- Giulietta (10/5): Great! Staff super helpful and cordial. Location perfect! - Property is located in the heart of the matter pf Trastevere. We have loved the location, the possibility to enjoy the neighborhood and go to monuments but not staying in the most crowded area. Trastevere is extremely lively specially at night. One could feel like a local. Everything was good
- Rowe (10/5): Excellent value, wonderful host, clean rooms, comfortable bed, lovely, sunny balcony, updated bathroom and friendly staf - Leonardo, the host, is one of the nicest people we’ve met in all of our travels. He gave us a non-rushed, warm welcome and suggested many nearby restaurants and sites to visit. He offered to allow us to leave our luggage most of the day when we checked out because we had an evening flight.
Location is in one of the best neighborhoods in Rome. Old town, boutiques, restaurants, grocery stores.. all within a short walk. Right outside the door, on the corner is the bus stop. The included breakfast at a nearby café was both high-quality and convenient. We highly recommend the pistachio cream croissants. Without a doubt we would stay at Relais Star of Trastevere again. There is nothing we didn’t like about the property.
- Rene (9/5): We loved the flat for many reasons. It’s a really good option to stay in Rome. - Certainly the location is one of the best parts. You can move easily from the flat to rest of city, few minutes walk to bus stop in different directions. Furthermore, the neighborhood is highly recommended to visit, specially at night. There are a lot of options for drinks and food. N/D
- Keith (9/5): Superb -
- Jennifer (10/5): Perfect Stay for City Trip - We had a wonderful stay in this accommodation. We booked a triple room for two and it was perfectly adequate. Unfortunately, the balcony was very, very narrow and faced the main road. The accommodation is on the sixth floor with a lift. The owner is very courteous, friendly and quick to reply to messages. We were welcomed with cold water, which was very good in the temperatures and after a long journey.
Breakfast was not served in the accommodation as expected. Instead, we were given vouchers for an Italian breakfast (consisting of a sweet and a coffee speciality) in a café right on the next corner. This was perfectly fine and without any problems.
The room was clean, towels and small shower gel bottles were provided, as well as a generous fridge in the room. The other rooms were also rented out, but there wasn't much noise. We were able to recharge our batteries for the next day. The location of the accommodation is very good, super central to the restaurants and bars in Trastevere. You can also reach the accommodation within 20 minutes by foot from the train station (coming from Fiumicino airport).
We were very satisfied with our stay and can recommend this accommodation to anyone thanks to the excellent value for money.
- Jack (8/5): Very good -
- Nicolaj (10/5): Exceptional - The host and hos coworker were incredibly friendly. Me and my girlfriend were so suprised, since it was a last minute booking.
It is a small hotel so the staff is very paying much attention to the guests needs.
And there’s the most cozy breakfast on the bed.
INCREDIBLE!!!
- Mariyam (10/5): Host is a wonderful person, perfect location - Host is a wonderful person, perfect location
- Oliwia (10/5): I highly recommend - Everything was great!
- Kathy (9/5): Superb -
- Samara (10/5): Exceptional - Good location. Restaurants and bars around are incredible. Host Leonardo was amazing! Would definitely stay again. Shower was cold most of the time.
- Victor (9/5): Superb -
- Harricks (10/5): Incredible place to stay, would love to visit again. Highly recommend - Excellent location, great staff Nothing
- Sanja (10/5): Great stay at Leonardo's B&B. Such an amazing friendly host. He and Joey made us feel welcomed and super helpful - Location, great hosts and cleanliness Elevator noise that van be heard inside the room
- Gina (10/5): Leonardo was fabulous . Helpful from first communication to last he well beyond what is expected of a host. - Great location. Easy to walk to all attractions.
- Julie (7/5): Great location and great staff. - The staff. Great communication. Really easy to deal with. The location was perfect. Close to bars, restaurants, train station , trans and not too far to walk to all the attractions The room was too small for 3 people. The shower cubicle tired and could do with replacing.
- Crowley (5/5): Passable -
- Jake (8/5): Very good -
- Gerardo (9/5): Great budget option to check out the city - Great location, beautiful view, comfy bed, delicious breakfast,
Friendly owner
- Mia (9/5): Awesome view, delicious breakfast and a comfortable stay! - Our room had such a stunning view! The breakfast was divine! Our shower was small and we were close to the mechanics of the lift.
- Annie (10/5): Great service, location, quality of accommodation - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The service from Jo and Leonardo was first-class. They were friendly and keen to offer help and advice. Room was clean and comfortable. Highlights included a wonderful breakfast with croissants, orange juice, coffee, toasted sandwiches and the excellent location, with major sights, cafés and restaurants all very accessible. Nothing.
- Elsie (8/5): Very good -
- Liu (9/5): Superb - Location! You can walk to most of the places you want to visit in Roma. And there are buses and trams right downstairs. Also many good restaurants around.
Leonardo was so helpful with all the info, suggestions, and taxi booking, we really had a great time. Leonardo really eased the nerves of us when we just arrived the big city Roma!
Joey, always smiling, prepared our breakfast every morning and cleaned our room whenever we needed. They worked very hard and we were grateful! The room was a bit small for three of us.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Beth (10/5): Great stay for overnight for FIU airport!! - Breakfast was OUTSTANDING!!! Leonardo was a fabulous host!
- Synthia (8/5): Very good - The only negative thing and I'd have to think very hard was that the towel racks were way up high. But overal an very satisfying experience
- Sarah (8/5): Amazing trip, fantastic location - Lovely location and great staff Hard to get into and had to call as it was locked but nothing really
- Conor (10/5): Exceptional - Great hosts very chatty and helpful. Great intro to the city
- Tanya (9/5): Superb -
- Sabine (6/5): Pleasant - The team was super nice and helpfull. I got the tiniest room, which could use a refresh and offer newest and cleaner accessories.
The early check out (10 am) is not convenient
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Isabella (10/5): Exceptional - Great staff! The location is perfect around all the nice spots in Trastevere.
Public transit right there off the street.
- Susan (9/5): Really lovely host, Leonardo who was incredibly helpful and genuinely lovely - Very central, easy to find and move about. Great to have an elevator so no lugging of heavy bags up stairs. Nothing
- Helen (8/5): Location- great. Great value for Rome. Leonardo was a fantastic host and gave us some great local tips for eating and dr - Location of the property absolutely fantastic - Trastevere is such a great neighbourhood, bit quieter but still easy access to all the main sights Because of the set up it can be quite noisy in the morning/ at night if people are waking up and getting it at different times but most of the time people were respectful
- Katheryne (7/5): Good -
- Saumya (8/5): Excellent! - The location was excellent! The host Leonardo was very helpful and was in touch before, and through out our stay. Breakfast was good and had a comfortable sleep! The room was bit small! The position of the extra bed for the child was not conformable. However we stayed only one night, so it was manageable!
- Ramūnas (9/5): Superb - Host Leonardo was very kind politr and helpful. All was good
- Geraldine (1/5): Bad -
- George (9/5): Superb -
- Kristina (7/5): Nice room, but very noisy - The room was nice and very clean with a great view of the Gianicolo hill. The staff is also extremly nice and helpful and waited for me downstairs at the arrival. The breakfast (in bed) was also nice and the position of the place is great to visit Trastevere. The room that I got was right next to the elevator and of course the elevator made a lot a noise untill very late. It was really difficult for me to sleep with so much noise. Even if I used earplugs, the noise was high. The room was nice, but it's fundamental to be in a place where you're able to get a good nights sleep.
- Rachael (8/5): Very good - Leonardo was very welcoming and super helpful.
- Evelyn (10/5): Highly recommended - Fantastic location, everything is walkable from here but the tram is on your doorstep if you want it. Remember this is a pensione not a hotel. There was excellent communication from Leonardo in advance, so easy to find. Facilities were clean and perfect for my needs. Great shower. Very comfortable bed, nice tiny balcony, generous breakfasts. Decor a little dated.
- Craig (9/5): Excellent stay would highly recommend - Great service Breakfast “in bed” every morning. Awesome communication at all points . Little small but we knew that
- Petra (7/5): Good - Location, bed, breakfast It is not a hotel, it is a flat with 4 rooms. Cleanliness was at a poor level, someone elses hair was everywhere, even in the fridge. I give 7 for the location and hospitality. The fridge was dirty, toilet..
- Kali (9/5): Superb - Everything
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional - I really recommend this, it is a perfect location in Tratesvere, great location, great bedroom with all you need, and delicious personalized breakfast brought to the room! Leonardo is a great host, and very helpful!
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good - The location is amazing, very central , close to good restaurants and a cozy area.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
- Gemma (10/5): Perfect stay in Rome! - Breakfast was delicious and the space was perfect. Safe, quiet at night, clean - absolutely no complaints and I couldn’t recommend it more! So good, I’m staying again in a few weeks 😊
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Patti (9/5): Superb - Location perfect. Lots of restaurants and shops. Room was a tad small but the balcony made up for that.
- Stela (8/5): Very good - The location was very good. The room was clean and the host was very accommodating. He suggested us places to go and to eat. The breakfast was nice. There wasn’t enough towels and blankets for all of us and the room was a little bit cold. The space of the room was a little small.
- Tea (5/5): Passable -
- Zdeněk (8/5): Very good - Leonardo took us advices where to go what to see. Position of the room Is perfect for walk trips. We did not have to use a public transport to go to Vatican or Colloseum.
- Βίκυ (8/5): Very good - The location was amazing, as Trastevere is the perfect place to eat and drink. The room is a bit small for 3 people, but we didn't have any problems.
- Emilia (8/5): Left us with good memories! - Leonardo (our host) and his team, were truly exceptional! They went above and beyond, ensuring our every need was met from the start of our journey to the day of check-out. The level of service provided was so outstanding that it almost feels unjust to highlight the minor details that didn't quite meet expectations. The location is wonderfully central, and the breakfast was both generous and delectable. The entrance is marred by overflowing rubbish bins, offering an unwelcoming sight. The elevator, unfortunately, poses a challenge with its limited size, making it impractical for simultaneous use by two people. Additionally, the outdated bathroom is in dire need of a thorough and deep cleaning. The entrance gate presented a considerable challenge as it required us to reach through the bars to open it from the inside. This became particularly inconvenient when returning to our room after a certain hour. However, as mentioned earlier, the exceptional hospitality overshadowed these issues, prompting us to overlook them entirely.
- Kübra (10/5): Go for it! - Everything was perfect. Leonardo was very helpful, he kept us update before and during the trip. The location is great; you can walk around the city easily. And the breakfast was not a ordinary Italian breakfast; more than that.Last but not least, Giovi was very kind :)
- Teresa (10/5): Superb location, clean, comfortable and friendly! - The room was not large, but ample, very well lit, clean, comfortable and with tons of storage. It even had a balcony overlooking the main boulevard with table and chairs for an outdoor coffee. The bathroom was larger than most, clean, bright and modern with excellent water pressure.
The location was great for walking anywhere in Trastevere and even over the bridge into central Rome, which was an easy, safe and quick walk. The location felt completely safe and was in the midst of numerous restaurants, bars, gelaterias, etc. The tram stopped just outside the front door of the building. (Note, the name is not visible at street level, but press the button and the proprietor will be at the door quickly to assist.
Breakfast was plenty and delivered to your room within moments of request by the caretaker, Joey, who quickly responded to any request.
Leonardo, the proprietor, was more than helpful - he went above and beyond to make my stay wonderful, from making restaurant and shuttle reservations, to helping me learn more about the area. He was truly delightful!
I would highly recommend Relais Star on every level and plan to go there again on my next trip to Rome!
- Maria (9/5): Superb - Such a great host
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Sofia (9/5): Superb - Leonardo was very kind and nice to us.
- Suttonc (7/5): Good - Leonardo was very helpful and accommodating, he was a great host! The bed was very hard. The cups were throw-away cups, only 1 teaspoon. No milk for coffee or tea. Breakfast was lacking.
- M (9/5): Superb -
- Prachi (9/5): Superb - The honour and the staff were super helpful and nice The size of the room was too small
- Davide (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional - Great location on the main street in Trastevere, very friendly host
- Stéphanie (8/5): Really great! I do recommend. :) - Warm welcoming. Really near everything and the animated & charming Trastevere. Easy access and good ratio quality/price. A/c was not optimal, but it made a cool breeze.
- Breanna (8/5): Very good -
- James (10/5): The ideal place to enjoy a few days in Rome. - The location is perfect, with lots of drinking and dining options very close, and a good supermarket downstairs. Public transport is excellent and the room is very quiet, as it is at the top of the building. We had a very comfortable stay in this beautiful part of Rome. We like everything about it.
- Carnita (10/5): wonderful comfy stay - recommended - clean and central, nice balcony and satisfying breakfast
- Mitchell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annabelle (8/5): Fantastic location and very helpful and friendly staff. - Fantastic location to all the night life of Trestevere. Lift for ease of luggage. Very helpful staff and Leonardo was exceptional at organising taxis and anything we needed. The shower head needed replacing. We had a balcony room which is good but not for those with a fear of heights. This meant the room had all day sun on it so it was a bit hard to keep cool. The room is a bit snug for three.
- Krista (10/5): Exceptional -
- Garfield (8/5): Very good -
- Maddy (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Leonardo is the best, he’s very kind and was a great help throughout our stay. Staff was very good. Location was really nice as well.
- Emilia (8/5): Relais Star of Trastevere - Location, close proximity to shops and public transport. You can walk everywhere- Vaticano is 20 minutes on foot,so is Piazza Navona and all major attractions.Plenty of cafès and restaurants to choose from.
The host was really helpful and kind, he called us a taxi early in the morning for the airport, and made sure we had everything we needed. The room is good for two people, but really cramped for three. The wardrobe pulls out into a makeshift bed, which is only ok for a small child, and makes it nearly impossible to walk around a room.A couple of more towels would be nice, and there is a huge sheet for two people on a double bed,and it would be better if there were two separate sheets.
- Anna (9/5): Superb -
- Villania-small (10/5): Very friendly staff. Spacious room and amazing location - It was in such a great location and next to amazing food. Everything you need is downstairs. It was quite noisy at night but I didn’t really care at all
- Anonymous (6/5): Good stay, affordable and close to restaurants in Trastevere - Affordable Room was small
