Guest Reviews
- Melody (7/5): Clean affordable option for an overnight stay. - The price. The proprietors are friendly and accommodating. Good location with ease of access around Storm Lake. Right next to an affordable restaurant with a great breakfast service. Can accommodate pets. The noise from the refrigerator which I had to unplug and the loud music from a car parked outside the room at 11 p.m. I would add a fan to the bathroom to help with the damage that is caused by steam from the shower in a small space.
- Joel (9/5): -
- Janice (7/5): A Good Place To Stay For College Graduation - The room was clean and comfortable. One of the chairs fit my short stature. The heater worked well. When I locked my key card in the room, the staff was very prompt in making me another one. I liked having a blanket and spread instead of a heavy comforter so many motels now have. The furnishings were old but so is my bedroom suit at home! The building suffered a tornado a year ago. The owner said he has put on a new roof and is replacing flooring in the rooms. Our room already had new flooring.
- Micheal (8/5): -
- Reginald (10/5): -
- Wright (9/5): -
- Laurie McManus (9/5): Great value - Very clean. Comfy beds, large room, great wifi, great TV, micro and fridge with freezer. Nothing to complain about.
- rich (8/5): -
- melvin (8/5): slept and left - n/a n/a
- Waddell (10/5): It was good -
- Justin (6/5): - Dirty and stinky
- NATALIE (10/5): Adequate and Safe Stay - This was an older, motel in a safe area. The room was clean. The shower had great water pressure. Front desk staff was very polite and welcoming. This was a good, safe place to be for a quick stay with a grocery store and restaurants nearby.
- Charles (2/5): - this place is a hard no for all. stinks bad, should be torn down. reviews online say its not bad but they must be burying the real ones
- Ralph (6/5): - The motel was exactly what you should expect from a low priced facility, average. Nothing stood out as bad but nothing stood out as being above average.
- MJ ernie (6/5): You get what you pay for… - Very bad WiFi, dirty, old, smelly, no free breakfast manager/owner made excuses about housekeeping and food and WiFi, I would stay clear unless you absolutely just need a place to sleep…
- Michael (8/5): -
- Christine (6/5): - Need more towels in the rooms
- Pamela (2/5): Don’t Stay even though it’s the last place avail! - DISGUSTING!! Shower curtain had mold on it. Wall was falling apart in the bathroom
Nothing was dusted or wiped down.
Towels were old and disgusting! Chairs in the room, one was broken couldn’t sit in and the other was so dirty it was black in spots! Absolutely filthy!!!
If this is the last place available in Storm Lake go to a neighboring town!
- Marco (7/5): - With $77 bit overpriced but convenient and clean
- Andrea (10/5): - The staff where so friendly
- Chip (10/5): Make this your regular stay in Storm Lake. - The owner is always working to upgrade the property. It's not the fanciest in town, but it is economical, clean, quiet and easy to get to and from.
- Elizabeth (6/5): A great option if you're in a pinch. - This was a last-minute booking when plans to stay with a relative were scuttled by her air conditioner going out. The hotel has a 7+ rating. This is more a 3, maybe 4, star motel. The manager and staff are amazing and very helpful. The beds were very nice. There is good water pressure. Other than that, it is very 1970's...the chairs were old and stained, there were very few outlets, the tub was obviously at least 50 years old, with electrical tape around pipes running into it. The room was bug-free and relatively clean, but there was a ton of dust behind lamps and the microwave. It was annoying to have large trucks parked outside our room...we were awoken by a ridiculously loud engine that was allowed to run for an extended time before 6 am.
- Gushi (3/5): poor people - it was close to beautiful water it’s was very scary looking. the bedrooms were very old styled and the tv didn’t even work. it was an older tv unlike the website said. the fridge was left open and the freeze section was a straight ice bucket… the place was “clean” but had stained sheets, stained chair and rips in the paint.
- Dale (4/5): Like visiting the tropics - This room was like staying in the tropics, without A/C! From the time I stepped in the room, even with the A/C working, all the linens were damp to the touch from the high humidity in the room, which never went away all 3 days. All of my clothes also felt damp when I left from being in there, even the ones I hardly wore. Also, the shower drain was so slow that I was standing in about 2-3 inches of water when I was done.
- Lucia (4/5): - Nada Los sofás sucios
- Laken (7/5): -
- Theodore (8/5): Review - Room was very nice and a good value Nice room nice straff
- Steve (4/5): - Nothing
- Mary (6/5): - Room was clean, safe area. Building exterior was rundown.
- Chip (10/5): - The owners are constantly upgrading this property. It is reasonably priced, comfortable, but not unnecessarily extravagent. Friendly staff. Great for inexpensive business travel.
- Kerrie (2/5): - Dirty
- Brittany (6/5): Pleased - I appreciate the comfortable bed and the location of the hotel. The employees are friendly.
- Joel (8/5): - Easy access super quiet
- Lopez (8/5): Very good -
- Lewanne (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was helpful
- Cecil (8/5): Good Stay for the Price - Check in was easy. Location was convenient for work. Staff was friendly and polite. Not high end or fancy but good bed, hot shower, safe location, and clean. I would stay here again.
- Lana (3/5): Will never stay again - No breakfast. The room smelled like dirty socks and the water smelled like mildew. Couldn't drink it.
- Rob (5/5): Fit the bill for an inexpensive emergency over night stay. Just needed a bed and a bathroom. - Staff was very nice. Bed was comfortable. Old motel. Clean but smelled like cigarette smoke. Non-smoking room with cigarette burns in the carpet.
- Elphazard (8/5): - The room pleased
- Pearl (7/5): Good -
- Blane (10/5): - Needed a spot to rest my head
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harley (8/5): - The manager is a very pleasant person. A good family man and a good person.
- Demerrial (8/5): Very good -
- Tammy (9/5): Great motel experience - Easy check in. The bed was so comfortable and pillows so fluffy. Great location. Kind staff. Amazing price. Nothing I didn't like.

- Raydenson (8/5): Very good - The beds was ok service every day Location was good
- Alan (8/5): - Was fine..
- Joshua (8/5): Very good -
- Perez (1/5): Would not recommend - The people at the front desk were nice The rooms have a very very strong odor to them .
- Chris (4/5): Disappointing -
- Merredith (6/5): - The place was OK for what i needed but old, dirty and outdated.
- Philip (6/5): - Check in was fast. Looked like they were trying or attempting to remodel. When walking to my room. Walked near a group of guys and all i could smell was Marijuana. Not exactly pleasant. Some of the guests were loud.
- Terry (8/5): - The room, stay and staff were very good. They would probably have better reviews if they didn’t advertise a breakfast or offered more choices of food.
- Joseph (8/5): Very good -
- Mitch (1/5): wouldn't stay there, too nasty - checked in, looked at room, was very dated like out of the 70's, lighting was very poor. My daughter examined the bathroom, found bugs (live) in the sink, and a nasty smell from the toilet area, also more bugs. Went back to front desk and told him about the bugs and I wasn't going to stay, he shrugged his shoulders and refunded my money. We weren't going to stay there, we went down the road and stayed there everything could have been better
- paul (10/5): - Very quiet and convenient
- Rochelle (5/5): Passable -
- Christina (8/5): - This property was advertised correctly. Very basic, clean, and low cost. Very quiet.
- Renee (4/5): Enjoyed our trip but glad to get home to our bed - Location Hard bed! Needs a very deep cleaning and updating! Curb appeal needs to happen
- Nancy (6/5): - Poor lighting. Cigarette burns on the tub. Furnishings needed updating. Security chain on door was too short & couldn't latch.
Office was very cluttered with random stuff, like it was being used as living space.
- Brittany (10/5): Good stay - The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. Everything worked in my room & it was relatively quiet. That’s all I need to make me happy! The owner recognized that I had stayed there before (I’ve stayed there around 5 times in the past 3 years.)
- Angela (1/5): The general manager/owner doesn't need to be in the hospitality business. - Location. The room needs a deep clean and it smelled of mildew. Visible cracks and repaired ceiling from water damage, which the General manager denied. Items left in the room from previous occupancy. Stinky drain and bathroom, $94 for a $25 room.
- Vera (7/5): Good -
- Alex (8/5): Clean older budget hotel concrete walls - It may be an older budget hotel with a warn out exterior but it does have concrete walls. Very quiet stay. Comfortable bed. Towels could use replacement and bathroom fixtures are very
old in desperate need of refurbishment but everything was clean. Good value, friendly staff.
- Flaneene (8/5): Very good -
- Duane (8/5): - Easy to park and walk to!
- Robin (8/5): - I like that there are still affordable inns/hotels!
- Alan (5/5): Passable -
- Teresa (6/5): - Room was very clean, and it was a quiet stay, also liked the fact that it’s near places to eat that are in walking distance. Also liked the convenience of the microwave and refrigerator. To bad they didn’t have coffee or tea options in the room.
- paul (10/5): - Very convenient
- Lori (10/5): - Just there for work nothing special but price was right
- Ashley (8/5): I will be staying here every time I visit Storm Lake from now on. - Most bang for your buck. Yes, it’s outdated. But for the price, who cares!? The beds were nice and clean and comfortable. Towels could’ve been better.
- Chris (6/5): - The property was clean, but aging.
- David (7/5): Flood victim - Our home in Spencer Iowa was flooded .so this was just great Staff could have been more friendly
- Cindy (8/5): Worked out great. Great area, great price. - They were very friendly. Was a nice restaurant that was in the same parking lot. Was an older facility, but the room was very nice and clean.
- Jordan (7/5): Good -
- Vigilante (7/5): Good -
- Peggy (8/5): - Had trouble getting WiFi to work, but the problem was identified and fixed.
- Condy (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (1/5): It was gross. I have never been a hotel snob but this was the worst in my entire life. - No breakfast offered. I had to ask staff to make coffee The smell was horrible. We bought two cans of fabric refresser and it didn't put a dent in the smell. Carpet was stained and curtains. Crack in tub. Lights were filthy. No improvements or updates to the room in decades. Bed spread looked new. The one bed had hair on the bed sheet.
- Katrina (7/5): Good -
- Chip (10/5): Repeat customer - Always clean. Owner is constantly upgrading. Good value for the money.
- saw (10/5): - Good hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): Avage - That place is OK if you’re just looking for a place to just sleep and go run around or whatever but and take a shower it’s rated OK
- Wendell (6/5): - Staff helpful and doing their best with facilities way past their prime…construction workers were noisy until 11:00 pm…but not deliberate or profane…young men enjoying beer and music. Having fun out side our room…but was disruptive to our nights rest.
- Lah (10/5): It was nice and comfortable - Right across from grocery stores and restaurant. Nothing
- David (8/5): Very good - Good priceels Bathroom outdated...towels are old...like sandpaper
- Charles (10/5): On a trip - Good
- Waddell (7/5): Good -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - I liked the town, and the stay at the motel was good, friendly staff. I care for traveling much anymore but at least I had a good place to stay.
- David (10/5): - This is in a great location for us. We were close to all of the areas we needed for food and gas and rest.
- Shanda (8/5): - The room it’s self was very nice but cleanliness of the bathroom needs some attention
- leland (8/5): Rooms are decent, hotel old and needs work. - Rooms are comfortable, clean, and large. Bathrooms small, old, but functional. One concern was no deadbolt lock on the door that opens outside.
Lobby needs work, hotel looks rundown on the outside, but rooms were decent. No real breakfast, but good breakfast restaurant next door across parking lot.
- Aaron (7/5): Good -
- Al (10/5): Good Budget Hotel - Needed a low cost hotel for one night. Room was clean Tv worked Shower worked
- Brittany (8/5): Good place to stay - This is the same hotel I stay in each time I visit. It’s clean, cheap & friendly. It’s no frills, but meets my needs.
- Jim (6/5): - It was about what we expected from budget Inn, the lowest priced motel in the area. The continental breakfast amount of two free coffee and either a kind of granola bar or dinky muffin. There was no coffee maker in the room. The ice machine was broken. But at the price we paid and for what we needed, it was acceptable.
- Barbara (8/5): - Clean room , very friendly accompanying staff.
Electrical outlets are bad/ unable to charge our devices as cords keep falling out of the outlets.
Not sure the a/c is working properly
- Dylan (8/5): Very good - N/A N/A
