Guest Reviews
- Mary (8/5): - Both rooms smelled musty. The bathroom door in one room had a large crack in it and in the other room the door looked like it had been wet because it was all brown on the bottom. The shower curtain looked like it might have blood on it, the smoke detector was covered with some kind of netting, the door had a crack all around it. I will not stay there again.
- CLARK (8/5): - The property was close to dining and the major hwy. Rooms need some upgrading, bathroom door hard to close and entrance door needs security chain for door.
- Zhihui (10/5): - Very convenient, and the boss reduced the fees that belong to the third party, very kind and comfortable hotel
- James (10/5): Nice place, nice people. - It's a really nice place for the money.the people running the place are really nice. The rooms are set up really good along with a comfortable bed.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was basic, organized, and spacious enough with appropriate amenities for the price. It was what I expected and would not have needed more. The clerk was friendly and agreeable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I liked the area and the window The rooms was not cleaned very good bed was actually comfortable room was very small
- Darrine L (8/5): SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT WEEKEND!! - My husband and I stayed there for 2 nights, because of COVID 19 we cleaned and disinfected our room and bought our own towels, sheets and comforter. We were attending a softball league at 6th park. The sink seemed to have a leak and there was a cork pump left on the floor. We bought our own food and grilled outside our room which was very convenient. There wasn’t a ice machine but they did supply us with a bag of ice whenever we asked. The owner Mr. PJ, his wife and the house keeper were great.
My suggestion to the owner would be to have the housekeeper clean better with more detail because of the COVID 19. My other disappointment was, I rsvp a king room and received 2 queen beds. Overall the stay was affordable and pleasant.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was clean and comfortable. No amenities(soap, shampoo, etc) but for the price it was good
- David (6/5): - The owner was wonderful! You can tell they have remodeled but still have some work to go! Great for the price!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Office very friendly and helpful.Might need to address some plumbing issues.Had to move to a room because toilet did not flush correctly.Second room was fine in that regard but noticed that shower drain was very slow.Washbasin needed a stopper. Both rooms had paint "fixes" for what probably was damage, but they need to totally paint both room.Furniture in the room very dated.Would be nice to have a printed channel guide since there was not converter box.One or two of the towels had had a lot of wear and should not have been put out for guest's use.Bread spread in one of the rooms had cigarette holes on the underside of the spread.Cleaning staff needs to inspect and inform management who then should change out such items. Not acceptable: tacky.. However, I do think that management is trying to get its services right. Just coming up a bit short.Good location for exploring Marshalltown.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Shower didn’t work properly. Desk was broken. The bed was beyond worn out. The tub was very slippery.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Just drive on by - I only stayed in the room 1 hour and left and drove 4 hours home I couldn’t get over how dirty it was. I accidentally booked a smoking room I asked if I could get a non smoking room. Said $10 more. There was only 1 car in the parking lot so their were rooms but that was bumping $70 and I could already tell this was not a $70 hotel. I took the room then couldn’t bring myself to do it. And I’d been at some $35 motels earlier in the week that were 10 times cleaner.
- Kandy (2/5): - The room was not clean. The dresser drawers had dead bugs in them and other things left behind that were gross. The pillow cases smelled bad like it had not been washed. No blow dryer but a spot where it looked like it was removed. No cups in the room to brush teeth. Very outdated and smelled musty.
- Chad (8/5): Good - I was satisfied
- Raul6583 (10/5): Excellent - very clean and nice rooms... Daily house keeping...Very supportive staff...The best things are...on opposite side of motel there is liquor store(only in 150 steps) and beside liquor store there is McDonald , than on left side of motel there is Applebee's and beside its taco bell , than behind motel there is Perkins restaurant....And within one miles there is Walmart....And many interesting things within 1 miles...And in this price what you expect more!
- ashley skeen (2/5): very disappointed - i had booked a reservation, when i arrived to check in they told me they had no rooms and had no clue how i even got said reservation
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Sound proof rooms. Shower pressure great and clean for motel
- Terry (4/5): dissapointed - Took the room at the last minute. Last room available. Room was not in very good condition. Carpet stained, broken bathroom door. Room reeked of smoke. More like a one star motel. Close to many eating places and major highway.
- Sandra (8/5): Home away from home - Nice room with all that I needed for my stay..except a coffee maker. Like that it included both microwave and refrigerator, so I could have my milk and cereal for breakfast. Another plus was that the window was up high so no one could see in. Parked the car almost right beside the door. Very quiet room and good privacy. I will consider staying here again next time I'm in town. Thanks, much.
- marylouc317 (8/5): nice place - Reasonably priced, locally owned & clean "Ma & Pa type" motel, polite & helpful desk clerk, flat screen TV, new furnishings and carpet all combined for a good stay. Have stayed at national chain motels with less desirable rooms. Extra blankets and pillows available on request. No free breakfast but the low rates made up for that and Perkins was right next door.....McDonald's nearby too.
