• Judy (8/5): - A wonderful lodge. Quiet rooms; well stocked kitchen as far as utensils, dishes and refrigerator space. Has a bbq if choose not to go out for dinner. Would have enjoyed one of the two patios with fire pits but rained during our stay. House has very nice decorations and plenty of seating in main room It is a bit far from Talkeetna so must use your car.
• Rodney (8/5): Pretty little cabin - Cute little cabin in a peaceful and wooded location. Thoughtfully equipped with all you’d need for a short stay. The bed was difficult to get into because there was only 12” from the wall to the side of the bed so it was a problem because with both have mobility limitations. Should be fine if you’re younger.

Our room was HUGE and we had the lobby and kitchen below us to use as well. So quiet at night too. And just a quick drive into town. We all gave it big thumbs up!

Stacy, our host, was generous and accommodating. Wish we had all ten nights in Alaska here instead of just one on the way to Denali.
• Cynthia (6/5): - Make sure you know what you are booking. This property is way off the beaten path down a dirt road with no cell service. They have a small lodge and a few cabins. Every room is different. Our cabin ended up being dry, which I did not realize when booking. We had a private bathroom, but it was in a different building. The cabin was nice, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was inconvenient and could have been cleaner. The owners were very pleasant.
• suza7000 (10/5): Cozy, Authentic Alaskan Retreat Just Outside Talkeetna - Meandering Moose Lodge was one of our favorite stops on our Alaskan driving adventure. Just outside of Talkeetna, it offered everything we needed to feel at home. Our Uppity Moose room was spacious with a great bathroom and even a washer and dryer—perfect for getting ready for the second half of our trip. The shared kitchen downstairs had a coffee maker and fridge, which we seemed to have all to ourselves. It’s not rustic, but it feels genuinely Alaskan in the best way. We also loved relaxing on the sunny deck, a perfect spot to unwind after exploring. Owners Stacy and Peter have created a peaceful, welcoming retreat that feels worlds away from the busy commercial scene in town. So glad we stayed here instead!

Our room in the lodge was a sliding door away from the very nice shared kitchen with two big refrigerators for storing guest’s food. Very well equipped. We also received some great help from Stacey, the owner/ manager.

• 987marcil (8/5): The Moose - The Meandering Mouse was awesome if you are looking for a cabin out of town. The owners are great, friendly people and their dogs super fun. The property sits about 1.5 from Talkeetna which allows you Alaska space but still close to town. The cabin was clean, and comfortable. Outdated. If they advertise a stove then need to replace the stove. Refrigerator big and new. Definitely bring food and ICE. If wanting a great cabin. Remote and relax and enjoy the Moose is the Place. I would definitely go back. Good use some updates. However. Some of the adventure is the rustic. Great place.

It is not within walking distance of Talkeetna, so I do recommend having a vehicle. There is a dog kennel somewhere in the neighborhood with lots of barking but did quiet down in the night and had no trouble sleeping. Hosts were very nice. I would absolutely recommend for a quick stay at an affordable price.
• MicheleV75 (10/5): Authentic Alaskan Cabin Getaway - Our host, Stacey, made the 6 adults in our party feel right at home in 2 cabins, Munchin' Moose and Snoozin' Moose. It was a highlight of our Alaskan adventure, to stay in authentic Alaskan cabins. They were SPOTLESS and furnished nicely with comfortable beds, cozy linens, rustic, frontier-style furniture, and microwave/fridge. We were offered a campfire to complete our evening, while we awaited the Northern Lights. The cabins are only 2 miles from thr historic Old Town of Talkeetna. We got our breakfast fixings at Nagley's and dinner right in town. Great place to unplug (wifi works fine), play some board games, and enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the mountains and stands of birch. Highly recommend!

• aw511 (6/5): Ok for a night, but check around - Stayed in one of the cabins. It had a bathroom that was extremely small and you had to use the kitchen sink for brushing your teeth, washing your face and hands. Queen bed was against a wall so not ideal if you’re not alone. Shower had hair in it when we arrived. Fire pit but no firewood available and couldn’t find an open place that sold it. Lots of airbnb-type rules about what to do with sheets and towels and dishes before you leave.

• Anna (10/5): Cute, cozy cabin in the woods! - What a delightful stay! Stacey (the owner) was so wonderful and came to the cabin upon arrival to let us in as well as go over instructions. The cabin was very clean and had everything needed. The bathroom area was very close to the cabin but was still a small walk. Please note that if you are not okay with walking in the woods to the bathroom, this experience is not for you. Overall, a great experience and an even better price point!

• thomas k (10/5): Lovely place to stay. - The Meandering Moose is a lovely property cared for by the owners…upon arrival we met Stacy one of the owners and she greeted us with a welcoming smile. The hotel has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and microwaveable popcorn is available for guests. There’s a lovely porch to sit on and relax as well as a huge shared living room for guests. We stayed in the suite so we had access to our own private bathroom and washer and dryer. The Meandering Moose is conveniently located as we only traveled a couple minutes for the glacier plane excursion.

• roulettegirl (8/5): Nice property, great host - Having never been to Talkeetna before, we were unsure what we were getting into while driving down gravel roads to get to the lodge. It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, But it was a lovely property, and very close to town. The host was very nice and accommodating. We stayed in a suite (private bathroom and huge private deck). We know other people were staying there too, but never saw or heard anyone. We only stayed one night, and it was raining so we didnt get to enjoy the outdoors. If in Talkeetna again, I will stay here, and may check into the cute cabins on the property.

It stands to reason that all that stuff is either used to maintain or kept in case, but maybe should be moved to a different location so not to affect what you are doing inside.

• Joyce (10/5): Love this place!!! - We got the upstairs suite and it was amazing. Out of all the places we’ve stayed at in Alaska, this is our fave. We had our own bathroom with a washer and dryer in-unit!!! Shared kitchen and living room. Very homey and private. Super happy with our stay. It was very clean too!!!

• Benjamin (10/5): - I didn’t realize that I would be sharing a bathroom in the main house (maybe I didn’t read the listing closely enough?) but it was a comfortable and economical night sleep. Secluded, authentically Alaskan and cozy place to spend a night before my early morning glacier flight. Having stayed at the cruise tourist factory that is the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge for two nights, I highly recommend the Meandering moose lodge over that any day!

Only down side was the wifi quit as soon as you went in the cabin probably due to the roof, but that was ok for i needed a bit of a break.. Thank you Stacy for being so welcoming
• Steven (10/5): Comfortable hospitality in a super cool town - Wonderful stay after roughing it with some camping for a few nights. Much needed shower and rest, and a massive, well-equipped kitchen! Plus the wonderful porches with fire pits. Hosts were wonderful and the town of Talkeetna is *fantastic*. Highly recommend!

• SamC855 (10/5): Perfect and Relaxing. - We along with two other couples stayed here for two nights to enjoy Talkeetna and a day trip to Denali. The Snooz'n Moose cabin was perfect for my wife and I. The other couples stayed in the lodge. The lodge is spacious and accommodating. Short walking distance to downtown. Stacey was a gracious host! When we visit again , we will definitely stay longer.

• Maryanna (10/5): - I really enjoyed staying at the Meandering Moose cabin! The large main cabin was absolutely beautiful and sleep accommodations were so comfortable. Stacey was such a gem! The lodge is only a few minutes from Talkeetna. It’s perfectly tucked away in a forest giving you all the quiet and peace you need. I would absolutely stay here again in the future!
• tessa9092023 (10/5): Loved it! - Our family recently spent 8 days in Alaska and stayed 5 different places. By far, Meandering Moose was our favorite. We had two rooms in the lodge for one night. They were spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated, clean, and had private baths. The common areas are comfortable and inviting and the kitchen is fabulous. I believe Stacey said she and her husband have remodeled/renovated most of the place. They’ve done an awesome job. They’ve thought of everything to make a stay as comfortable as possible. My only regret is we didn’t stay there longer to enjoy the amenities like the decks, fire pits, s’more kits, etc. If ever in that area again, we will stay at MML and it will be for longer! Advice if you’re planning to visit Denali NP - the summer view of Denali from Talkeetna and Denali State Park (from the south) is prettier and more interesting than when in Denali NP and Denali Village (from the north). To do it over, I would stay a couple of days at MML and explore the state and national parks from there. There’s a lot you can do in and around the Talkeetna area and Stacey will help you with suggestions and/or bookings.

• Phillip (4/5): - Poor signage and directions. Put 4 older 60 people in a cabin with pull down stairs. Had a little hassle to come to an agreement to get a different cabin. The second cabin still had steep stairs.
• N982GFcrystalp (10/5): Amazing Cabin - Stayed one night, absolutely loved it. Decided to stay another night. The owner is very friendly and the cabin is gorgeous. Absolutely no complaints. Plenty of room for the whole family. Very clean. They slso have tons of movies or games to enjoy after a busy day. I definitely recommend this place.
• Jeffrey (10/5): - Quaint cabin with useful amenities! Refrig, coffee pot, fan, heater, microwave, and pull out bed/couch besides the double bed. Allows dogs in this cabin for us local travelers. Good check-in service and bathhouse close to cabin.

• Katherine (10/5): - We had a great time at the main lodge in a recently completed room on the main floor with its own private access and excellent bed and brand new toilet area. Tastefully decorated with crafty wildlife images and the facility was spotless!
• didid994 (4/5): Rustic and remote - We stayed at the Mangy Moose cabin and we were surprised at how rustic and remote it was for the price. For the price we paid, you wouldn't expect junk cars parked right there and overgrown weeds. Perhaps the main lodging is way better, but the cabin pricing needs adjusting for sure as it's just a step above camping.
• Ben (10/5): - We loved our time here! It's a beautiful property that was extremely clean and well-managed. The owners are wonderful and helpful, and made it such a great experience. Would definitely stay here again
