Guest Reviews
- Abeer (10/5): Great location - Great location but u have to be aware that your hotel is right outside the night market. So if you can’t sleep easily with noise don’t book here. Everything gets packed up by 1am so if your planning to stay out won’t be a problem
- Afshan (4/5): Good location, average hotel - Good - location, riverside view, it was relatively clean, polite staff, they provide tea/ coffee/ kettle/ shampoo, mosquito repellent plug provider too, shower pressure is good, view of large hotel on the other side of the river (which was totally empty btw!)
Area for improvement - bathroom is a bit mouldy, the main reception has no AC, poor noise control (you can hear the person next door coughing etc), bathroom is a wet room
It was as expected for the price and having read the reviews. Location can’t be beaten. You get what you pay for !
- Damian (10/5): - Very clean
- Eamon (6/5): - Superb, central location. Good sized rooms with great view of river, but the rooms are showing obvious signs of age. Sound proofing practically non existent. With some simple renovation this would make a fantastic hotel.
- MD SHANURRUZZOHA (10/5): - Its a nice and cheap hotel. Beside the hotel is the Police HQ and the other side is the Melaka River. The staff were friendly and the rooms come with basic complimentary breakfast like noodles, curry puff, egg, cake etc. Nice for a light breakfast. Its a small hotel, I think around 30 rooms or so.
If you choose the room beside the river, you can have a nice view and very small balcony. Ours was facing the Police HQ. It can get noisy during the weekend due to night market which close at 12 midnight. walking distance to jonker walk and to the mega mall. They is a restaurant beside the hotel which usually open in the evening. Lot of places to eat nearby.
- Nel (8/5): - Basic hotel but charming. The industrial design of the hotel sets it apart from the other hotels. The location is strategic for sightseeing. Jonker walk at the left, you are in the heart of the Red Square and Mahkota Parade at the right side. It got the fantastic view of the Malacca river with boats parked in front. Wait for the sunset view.
We will book again in our next stay.
- Abdul Rasyid (10/5): - The location is very convenient, close to the main attraction. The view is also beautiful, make sure choose the river view, worth every penny
- Zalanni (8/5): - -
- Nicholas (6/5): - It was d
- Martin (8/5): - It s ok for 1-2 night near of night life noce spot around
- meb (4/5): - Sadly like many other hotels, this one too needs a lot of upgrades, however I always rate a hotel by cleanness and service. While the staff are very helpful, the cleanness can be better. As for the breakfast , its an absolute dismisal. Please have tour prepared eggs in a warmer and ,what about slices of bread with a toaster ? Eggs can not be consumed by itself. Pay attention to the dire needs of repairs and cleaniness.
- christine (6/5): - Note, this is an inexpensive basic hotel. Suitable if you just want a place to shower and sleep. The amenities are adequate, the room was comfortable enough and both bedroom and bathroom are clean but run down. Some maintenance issues such as dripping faucet in the bathroom, curtains not hung properly due to missing hooks, a dent on the night table. Air conditioner on the room added to comfort.
- Yongwei (6/5): -
- Allyssa (10/5): - I really like the room with the river view! Very nice and cozy vibe. The room is also comfy enough to stay in. The water bidet however was a bit weirdly functioning but it was fine. The receptionist was very friendly as well!
- Noreen (10/5): - walking distance to tourist place ..
- lee (8/5): - Location is near to Jonker and Mahkota Parade shopping center.
There is limited parking lot in front of the hotels for those who drive.
- Poh (8/5): - good location. Easy to access nearby attraction
- Abdul Rasyid (10/5): - The river view is to die for, i love the view! The parking is a bit hard but the rest is truly something worth paying for
- Eugene (8/5): Central location to walk - Tourist place so hard to finish parking. Once parking was settled room was nice and scenic view was on point. Bad part next to pier so had shades for privacy and a band on pier that played into the night.
- Thomas (8/5): Great possibilities but not quite there - Limited to one key (desk clerks said they were short of card keys - really?!?), no spare toilet paper, no separate shower stall (so walking in shower water when brushing teeth or doing makeup later), and poor noise insulation (especially if room faces main street).
For relatively small investments, the owners and managers could make this a wonderful option. Perfect siting in Malacca's core.
- KUAN SIONG (6/5): Good Location, Bad Room Face Main Road - Location extremely good. Got a room that face main road. The Cycle Tour with loud speaker was so noisy until daytime until 1am... Can only sleep from there onward... Unable to change room...
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good..excellent service
- Verified traveler (6/5): - so hot at lobby
- Vinson (8/5): Can be improve - Room is hot and noise shielding is poor. Staff is great though
- Verified traveler (6/5): Conveniently located - Hotel is close proximity to jonker street. Room is comfortable. However, one of the towels is dirty with blood liked strain and no house keeping done despite repeated reminders to the staff to make up room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice, location superb, staff amazing... Overall thumbsssss uuuppp
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Poor managed. A
Homestay with premium charges.
- Chris (2/5): Very disappointing - The first room we checked in was noisy - not sound proofed.
The first room bath area was not covered, after a shower water got every where posing quite a dangerous situation (either slipping or electrocution if hair dryer was used)
Had to upgrade to a suite at additional charges.
Even the suite room facilities were very basic, not properly maintained.
Staff were untrained and not adequate.
Had to request for room service several times before we got it.
The coffee cups in the room was cracked, there was no stirrers.
Parking was most unsuitable as we had to park very far.
Lobby was quite bare, not properly maintained and seemed very forlorn.
There was no restaurant or coffee place within the hotel. No room service facilities either.
It would seem that they are planning a major revamp - but still accepting guests in the interim.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible place. Won’t go back again. - We requested 1st floor and was given a ground floor room. Telling me that the ground floor is called first floor for them. Im speechless. Hello! This is not China in which u refer a ground floor as first floor.
Second terrible thing: the room is not soundproof. The walking sound, tv sound, talking sound and whatever sound made by the room next door are all hearable.
At midnight, we can clearly hear the sound of chair/table moving from next door/upstairs. And walking sound non stop during midnight. My Friend got too scared and we end up having the room lights on the whole night. Without having a good sleep, of course. Terrible and horrible and dirty bed dirty towel. No car park some more! FOC also we won’t go back. Not worth the price. I wanna rate it as negative star hotel. Don’t be cheated by the photos shown in website.
- nurul (6/5): need improvement - dirty toilet and bad water heater
- ROZIHANI (10/5): 5 star location - Conveniently located in the center of Malacca town. All town attractions are within walking distance.
I love the river-view room.
Fried rice with sunny side-up so yumm.
- Nonie (6/5): Great location, but not conducive to sleep in - It was the second time i stayed here because of its location (5 mins to Jonker Walk night market), 10 mins walk to the big shopping malls, it is clean, simple and affordable. However the hotel is built with thin walls that we find it hard to sleep at night. We could hear tourist rickshaws passing by with their super loud amplifiers, our neighbour on the top floor was shouting to himself as he was having trouble opening the balcony door, and the sound of his steps when he walks around his room late at night. Adding to that, as we were having trouble trying to sleep at night due to the noise, we thought we could sleep a little longer when morning breaks but at 9am, the staff played loud amplified music by hallway. They suddenly stopped the music about 5 - 10 mins later, perhaps a guest must have complained.
Should you stay at the hotel, I would advise that you bring some ear buds to block the noise.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel room is bit run-down and dirty. The flooding create a lot of noise when walking inside the room. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Location is near to the tourist place. I think this is below 3 stars hotel standard from my experience. There is no hotel parking lot available but you can find private parking lot nearby (first come first serve).
- Dionne Adrienne (2/5): Most Horrendous Hotel Stay Ever - Go ahead and stay if you need just a bed and bath otherwise please read my comments...
1) Room – The floor and doors look like it needs to be soaked in Dettol. My bedsheet was a little stained. There was a pair of worn socks stuffed behind the headboard. The aircon felt like 18 deg when it was 28 deg. TV channels are limited and not kid-friendly. Our balcony door was able to open but not lock and we had to seek help.
2) Bathroom - The toilet needs bleaching and scrubbing, not plus-size friendly as the sink is placed near the toilet bowl so if you are bigger in size of have long legs, you might find yourself “squashed”. There’s only a rain shower and it kind of flooded when we showered. The water heater in my room (107) was faulty.
3) Thin walls – this hotel is certainly not for the light sleepers. All rooms face the lobby and because of the thin walls, all of us (we occupied 3 rooms at level 1) had a hard time sleeping through the 3 nights. For the record, we were assigned rooms attached with balconies that face the river, which is also a walking path for pedestrians and spacious enough for the trishaws to pass by. all of us got woken up by all sorts of noises (dragging chairs, loud chatter, passing vehicles etc)
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average hotel, great location - The hotel itself is quite basic. However, the location is great. It is within walking distance to Jonker St, modern shopping malls and historical landmarks.
- loh (6/5): Room cleanliness - Not clean for the room . Refrigerator very dirty .
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quay Side Hotel - Nice view and really calming to see the river. But no parking. Guest lobby was extremely hot and selection for breakfast is sad.
Staff is nice.
- Morwenna (6/5): Nice hotel in the city centre - We stayed here for one night in the middle of April. The location is great, right next to the river and within walking distance of everything we wanted to see (we were only in Melaka for a night). However, its location does mean that it's noisy when the rickshaws go by!
- Kareem (4/5): Do not stay here - While the location of the hotel is quite strategic, the rooms do not look like in the pictures, the room I had had dysfunctional windows that could not shut which resulted in a very noisy evening. With the price range of this hotel you could probably get a better boutique hotel in the city.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Room acoustic and floor - Maybe i can say for my room only but there noise upstairs when people walking and from outside as its next to the river. Its ok at night.. but at 3am in the morninf it was a hassle for us. Plus the floor doesnt seem so sturdy. Overall just ok
- Raymond (6/5): A little disappointed in many ways. - After having such a good time in George Town, Penang I was looking forward to seeing Malacca; another UNESCO heritage site, but I was to be disappointed, not only by the town but the hotel as well.
The hotel is situated right on the riverside (I wouldn’t really class it as a quayside - perhaps in days gone bye maybe) but that is a good thing because it’s very central and close to the old town. The hotel itself is quite basic- it feels like a converted warehouse. The bedrooms are on two levels situated round a large central area/reception and this makes for quiet a noisy environment.
The beds were okay but the pillows won the prize for the hardest ones going which made for an uncomfortable nights sleep, and the air conditioning unit was so loud!
There’s no breakfast but you can go to the restaurant next door and spend 20 ringitts on a really poor offering, or go to one of many really nice coffee shops in the old town and have a lovely breakfast- it’s up to you.
Would I go back to the Quayside - no. Would I go back to Malacca - no. The town is very touristy, coach loads arrive every day all armed with selfie sticks - shame really because the town has so much character - only my opinion though.
- Justin (6/5): Location was noise at night but it’s near to the b - Room was not clean sugar left over all over the table
- Apple (6/5): Location good but too noisy.. - Location is good but too noisy! A bit of over price as there is no free beakfast, room is dusty and wifi is slow.. Things to improve, change blinds to fabric curtains and add door strip to minimize noise towards room. But a walking distance to most of the tourists spots though..
- andrew goh (2/5): Hotel is terrible - Room facing the room, extremely noisy. Housekeeping not done at all from the time we went out at 10am till 3pm.
- sally (4/5): disappointing - Stay was below expectations, room was not equipped with working amenities. The kettle was not working and had to be replaced, the phone had a cord missing and when found under the bed and plugged in, was not working. After informing the staff and upon return to the room, the phone was gone. Guess it was their way of solving the problem altho by hotel rules a room phone has to be present for emergency purposes. We had to ask for bath towels to be exchanged as they were thin and shown long years of usage. The rain bath in the bathroom would wet the entire floor area as there is no shower curtain nor a raised bar to prevent water from spreading all over the floor.
The saving grace is the location and the reception staff who are helpful, courteous and polite. But they couldnt save the day.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Bad - So much different compare to the pictures, lobby got no aircon, balcony is very noisy, not worth for money.
- Chidebe (4/5): They need to clean up! - Looks more like a dormitory with doors linked to each other rooms. The beds aren’t nice. Kinda dirty.
- Edwin (8/5): Enjoyable except for a few hiccups - Was an enjoyable except that electricity was disrupted twice during our stay BUT the staff were very helpful and prompt to react hence it didn't bother us too much - and it certainly adds to the memories of this trip in a way.. =D
- jasmine (2/5): don't stay here if you want to be able to sleep - Other than location, I'm not sure there's anything about this hotel that can be recommended. First, I booked a room with a queen size bed. They claim its a queen size bed, in reality the bed is a double. Second, the windows are so thin, the traffic noise is TERRIBLE. The floor isn't carpeted, which is fine but the walls are also thin which means that every floor movement, every scrape of the chair across the floor can be heard very very clearly. And because of the high ceilings, EVERY SINGLE SOUND IS RESONATED. Did they even hire a certified architect to design this hotel? does it look chic? yes. Is it a functional building? NO.
I also had extremely inconsiderate neighbors who were dragging chairs across the floor and banging doors till 2am. YOUR STAFF DID NOTHING.
I think I might have had better rest if I had checked into a hostel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice river view hotel - The experience was amazing thanks to expedia, my travel became far more convenient.. Would definately book through expedia again.
- aimansdad (4/5): Central location - but noisy - We booked a family suite based on the photos that were posted on the site only to discover that the photos were for the suites facing the river and not the ones facing the road. The room we got was basically two bedrooms and one bathroom with one wardrobe, one writing table, one armchair and one mini-fridge. There was no additional sofa so not much seating space for 4 occupants. The room was facing the main road with roller blinds covering the windows, which was not sufficient to block out any of the noise, of which there was a lot, given it is the main road heading to the tourist attraction areas. Upon checking in we were informed that the parking area was full and we had to park by the roadside, with a reminder that we needed to either move the car by 8am the next day or buy parking coupons to be displayed in the car. However to buy the coupons we had to walk to a convenience store some distance away, as opposed to having it available for guests to purchase at the reception. saving grace was the young gentleman at the reception who was polite and kindly assisted by moving the "reserved parking" sign in front of the hotel. Additionally the fact that there were no lifts should be highlighted more clearly as it will be an issue for elderly guests and those with large luggage items and young children.
- Verified traveler (6/5): quayside hotel - they charge 10% for service charge but do nothing...
- josephine (8/5): Not too far not too close to jonker street - We were allowed for a late check in as we reached Malacca at 12am only.
We did a lot of shopping so this place was just nice. We can walk there in 3 min.
The room was clean. The price was cheap. The staff were helpful.
- David (6/5): Overpriced for what it is. - The only thing this hotel has going for it is location, rooms small and overpriced, bathroom and toilet not cleaned properly. 2.5 to 3 star hotel at best. Thin walls and screaming kids next door with shared doorway between room not blocking any noise.
- geraldine (8/5): Within walking distance to all places of interest. - Great stay.
Would be wonderful to have restaurant that serve 24hrs food so travellers could fill their stomach at wee hours since shops around close as early as 8pm
If toothpaste could be provided by hotel
- Kim Fung (2/5): Dishonest! - I paid for their Premium Family Suite but ended up being downgraded to their Superior Family Suite. How dishonest! After confronting their management, we were offered free breakfasts. In order to 'enjoy' their compensation breakfast, we had to delay our departure time (as we have planned to leave the hotel at 7:00 am) and paid our driver an extra hour. Also bad was when we arrived at the restaurant, nothing was ready and we had to wait another 20 minutes for the food.
If you cannot avoid the hotel, at least avoid weekends. It's very noisy beyond midnight.
Its closeness to the river has pros and cons. The view is good. But you have to close the curtain at all time as passers-by can see through everything.
- Lynda (6/5): Location is great - short walk to a lot of attract - Shower needs a screen - water goes all over the bathroom floor - toilet seat gets wet - very inconvenient
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room quite dirty as the pillow cover not clean. the toilet door also cannot lock it as well. Location actually quite nice and near to jonker street and dataran pahlawan. Just at nice quite noisy cause just near to the road.
- Savant (6/5): Great location, but hotel need to improved - Excellent location, all point of interest within walking distance. Room condition consider cozy and spacious for the family. Short of bathroom amenities even we booked under 2 adult 1 child. Lighting condition should be brighter and lack of hot cold water indicator which quite danger for the child. Overall if you expect the quality choose the opposite hotel "Casa", if for location think this is the best so far.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - view from room perfect!!,
easy to go interesting place from hotel
- alia (4/5): A hotel that gets worse with time - The room is not clean. There were bottles under the beds (I have a very inquisitive toddler) and what's disappointing is that, even after nicely commenting this tonthe concierge and asking for a clean up of the room, no effort was made. Room was still dusty.
No toilet paper was brought up to the room even after request.
Parking space is not sufficient.
Location is great but the room quality is just bad. Not worth the price as the family room, RM460 doesn't come with breakfast. You're better off in other boutique hotels nearby at this sort of rate and service
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent location - Hotel going through renovations. Excellent location. Rooms too close to each other so you can hear the neibours.
- Lee (4/5): Location is OK, but hotel is like same to 2 * - The location is good to see and shop, but accommodation standard is not good.
- de (10/5): Location of hotel - Stayed in room with balcony with river view.noisy with trishaws rides, music from bars during weekend and tourist walking just below your room.If u r a light sleeper or wants quiet location get another hotel. Great location. No shower cubicle so toilet bowl and floor gets wet.Get mosquito repellent when sitting in balcony room type. Only 2 levels in this hotel. Rooms without balcony facing road.Has a onsite restaurant.Hotel not for people with handicap as tis hotel doesnt have a lift only staircase. Coffee and tea facilities provided.Clean bath towels and bedsheets was changed daily.Helpful and cheerful staffs. Overall its the location which was a clear winner when choosing tis hotel which was within walking distance to attractions, dining, shopping malls andvthe famous jonker street.
- Jamie (4/5): Stuffy - Not up to my expectation. The hotel is under renovation.
- Wendy (4/5): - The lobby near the receptionist counter under renovation. There is no surrounding the area of renovation and without cleaning after done the works at the end of day.
Room door unable to close and basin was leaking.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good Location - I think it is the best location if you planning to stay in Melaka. However, i must say the restaurant (Halia Inc) is really bad. Only serve buffet if the total pax is 10. They only serve a la carte if less than that. But the charges is the same if you opt for breakfast which means if 10 pax, the buffet price is RM 20, but if less than 10 pax, the price for a la carte is also RM 20. I wouldn't mind paying that price if the quality of the food is equivalent to other fancy restaurant. But for the price, i would rather pay a little bit more for Hard Rock Cafe for breakfast considering the quality and the amount of the food.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Convenient - Noisy due to the wall are lack of sound proof system which may need to improve
- Pamela (10/5): Perfect location, wonderful weekend stay - Love this place. Second time we've stayed here and still very impressed with the service and style with great value. Right on the river front and 2 minutes walk to the city heritage centre. Clean, comfortable and well designed. Breakfast at the next door restaurant on the river. Wonderful, I'm sure we'll be back again.
- May (8/5): Great view! - Room with great view! It has all essential facilities. The staff are very helpful.
- Sin sen (8/5): clean environment - Short walk to most attraction
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location between mall and jonker street - The hotel has good location as it is between jonker street and the mall.
Has balcony and nice comfy bed. Nice looking room. Friendly counter staff.
Wifi is bad that it does not load google page most of the time of the stay. Toliet looks kinda different compare to the room.
1 of the towel given was smelly, had to request for extra towel but was told by the staff it is not available until 12am. Must bring own towel
- lim (2/5): - Had a very unpleasant stay.
Staff - Mostly behaved in a "cannot be bothered" attitude. Room - Noises from the alley can be quite disturbing & Room maintenance was terrible - yellowish linens, leaking air-con & flooding toilets.
Breakfast - Worst pathetic bfast i ever ate. Very limited choice and do not even serve the basic food - the Eggs !!!
bathroom floods when you take a shower. Can't be too hygienic!
- Abdul Halim (8/5): Wonderful location! Coming back again! - Great stay for the 2nd time! 1st time was the river view side and this time we had the road side. May get slightly noisy with the trishaws blasting their music. Hotel may want to invest in double glazed windows to block out the noise.
- deen (4/5): - very difficult to get parking around hotel...hotel parking very limited....
my room is facing the city and its at 1st floor - quite noisy because the main road in front the hotel..the hotel only 2 floor
the breakfast also not meet my criteria coz u spend more for less choices of breakfast meal
no iron board inside the room...u need to go to ground floor for ironing
- chup (6/5): Average - No parking facilities as mention in the website. Difficult for those who travel by own car
- Zahrah (6/5): Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. - We stayed at the river facing family suite. Fantastic view from the room and location for sight-seeing historical places of interest . Walking distance to Jonker steet and the new malls.
However the walls are thin
and can get quite noisy. But it quietens down after 12 midnight so you can still sleep.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. However being a boutique hotel they seemed short handed at times. Our room was only cleaned up once, not daily.
- chan (8/5): Great Location, Great Room, Limited Breakfast - Room was Ok, location is good to walk to Jonker Walk, but breakfast is very limited for the price tag.
- Mei (8/5): Nice hotel near to all the tourist hot spots. - Nice heritage hotel but having problem with the shower room water flow.
- Pramavita (10/5): - Love it!
- changxing (6/5): convenience but noisy hotel - very noisy in the night, cant sleep well !
- Bjorn (2/5): Worst hotel experience in Melaka - Don't ever stay in the rooms facing the road. Request for the rooms that face the river. The room we stayed in offered almost no sleep from the noise below. Thin walls also provided no respite from a neighbour with crying babies. Will not be returning.
- lau (4/5): good location.
No value for money - No parking bay provided for hotel guests.
Breakfast menu was very disappointing.
Only one key card given per room (No provided even requested at the front desk), It was very inconvenience for room partners.
Basically, for the amount you paid for this hotel (RM260++), you could have getting a much quality hotel and services.
I would not recommend this hotel to friends.
thanks
- Ruben Jr (8/5): soooo quiet hotel... - The hotel's envrionment was very quiet. We only saw one staff managing the counter in our 2 days/overnite stay. Although, the motif half unpainted furnitures like tables located in the 2nd floor, it should provide some finishing touches to look clean and more appropriate to the hotel ambiance.
- THAM (6/5): Convenient if going jonker street - i was given a very big room. (has 1 queen 2 single 2 chairs 1 sofa 1 coffee table, comes with good view)
as i had 3 adult 1 children 1 baby.
very good service staff.
able to do early check in as well if room is available.
- Robert (8/5): Good Hotel - This Hotel is a good stay for the money, good breakfast very central for shops . Very friendly staff.
- Ka Pui (8/5): Very convenient and a great hotel for its price - Staff was friendly and helpful. The receptionists always wear a smile, which gave me an instant great impression. The room wasn't big but compact and have what you'd need. The view from the Melaka riverside room was nice. The location was very convenient where you could always come back, drop your souvenirs/ gifts and return to the Jonker Street to continue shopping :) The only downside: there was no shower curtain, so the bathroom became wet after a bath. Nevertheless, I will likely be staying here again shall I visit Melaka.
- Kim Kwong (8/5): very convenient to all tourist sites. - convenience
- En Tek (10/5): Comfortable Hotel in the Historical District - Great hotel located in the heart of the historical district which is situated beside the Malacca river (don't miss the river cruise) and within walking distance to the major tourist attractions such as the The Stadthuys, St Paul's Hill, A Famosa, Jonker Walk, Maritime Museum, Naval Museum and not forgetting the shopping centres.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel with great location! - Good hotel with very nice staff.. strategy location make it very convenient to go the hottest place in Melaka. Strong recommend to stay in this hotel.
- raff yusuf (10/5): Nice room infront of river - Its a total satisfaction to stay at quayside hotel, good facilities, comfort with awesome view! Highly recommanded!
- James (6/5): Very bad pillows & bed. However view is magnifique - Very bad pillows & bed. View is awesome considering it is facing the river. Location is excellent as it is close to jonker walk & opposite stadhuys. If you plan to stay for a night & explore the city this hotel is a good option. If you dont mind driving then go to other hotel that has comfortable beds & pillows
- Eva (8/5): Where is the atmosphere? - Pleasant enough hotel in a convenient area sadly lacking any sort of personality or atmosphere. Rooms were ok, everything was clean, foyer big and classy looking, but not an ounce of welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast from a basic menu but enough, with toast, bread etc. freely available. If you'd toss in a little colour and a few more smiles,it would get an extra star. I'd stay there again if the price is right.
- Disappoint Cust (2/5): The worse hotel ever! - It was a nightmare for me while staying at that hotel. The customer service was the worst I've ever experienced. Some of them were very rude and some of them were OK. There were some mistakes happened during booking where I didn't get the exact room with the price that I've paid. As a customer,of course,we get upset and get angry for what we have asked for,did not turn well because we've paid and it's also not cheap, and we were expecting everything is going to be fine with that kind of price. Unfortunately,it's a disappointment. Not just that, one of the workers there said to us that we were rude to his manager and also he gave us the speech that is not even relevant with the booking. He said that we were rude to the manager bcoz he said we don't respect the manager as she is very old he said. We did not mad for all of a sudden, we mad because we felt cheated. He also said he did not want to respect us because he said we did not respect his old lady manager. Hahaha,if she's too old why picked her as a manager? Suppose the worker should apologize for the mistake but instead, he insult us. He didn't even say sorry to us until we mention it to him. What a shame. Why does the worker care so much about his manager instead of his customer? They also had an air conditioner problem, even the balcony itself did not have air cond. Melaka is just so hot plus with no air cond and with a price of rm500++ for 2 nights and also with the rude worker and poor management? You be the judge.
- Toni (2/5): Stay clear of this hotel - Booked the Jasmine Suite and stayed 2 nights with my group of friends for the weekend. This would have been a frustrating stay if not for our ability to laugh off the unbelievably poor facilities and service.
The suite we stayed in was a 2-bedroom family suite and we requested for an extra bed. There was only one bathroom/toilet for the ENTIRE suite. The shower and toilet area were not even separated. Hello, long wait for the toilet in the morning! The hairdryer in the toilet was not working but we were sent another one after we asked.
On the first night of our stay, we asked for extra pillows. A male front office staff informed us that he could not get it for us because Housekeeping was closed, at 6pm. This was our first time coming across a hotel Housekeeping dept that observed 'office hours'. Could he get access to pillows though? Sorry, he couldn't.
The next day at noon, we asked from another female front office staff for pillows again but were informed that they couldn't give us any as the hotel was running full. Fair enough. What about extra towels? Without even checking if there was any available, we were told immediately that sorry, they don't have any extra towels. Unbelievable.
This hotel did not provide slippers in the room. And no, they won't have it either even if you asked. We know, we tried.
My advice: just stay away.
- Justin (10/5): Great place to stay for a weekend in Melaka!! - We had a wonderful time during our stay at the Quayside Hotel! The hotel is perfectly located right in the middle of the historic district with a great view of the river. Almost all of the famous landmarks are within a 5 minute walk. The Parking situation could be a little better but other than that, no complaints.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The area is noisy!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointed - Other then great location, I can't think of anything else. Area to improve on
1) wifi connection was poor
2) room cleanliness (an empty bottle was spotted when I check in)
3) No free parking
4) breakfast limited variety
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location but hotel not well maintained and cleanliness could be improved.
- Helena (8/5): request for high floor - Very nice view from the balcony.
