Guest Reviews
Chambre confortable
- Carole (10/5): Superb comfortable, lovely and affordable room - Excellent hotel, recently refurbished. For that price, amazing large, comfortable room, well laid out and well decorated. The owner is really nice and friendly.
You can leave your car on the parking spots in front and join the city center by tram.
I highly recommend this place.
Dreisprachig. 10 Min zum Zentrum. Klasse
- Abdelkamel (10/5): Retrouvaille - Séjour avec accueil fort sympathique
Dommage pour quelques vétusté de la chambre
- shareefju (10/5): Nice hotel - We chosen this hotel, far from the center, due to some point:
- It has free parking lot with enough places, which is itself a big plus.
- It wasn't noisy at night, it is located in nice area.
- The price was about half the other hotels in the center, especially because a big discount that we got because we booked at the same day (last minute deal).
The man at the reception was very helpfull, explain to us exactlly how to travel to and from the city center.
We bought a tram ticket for 6.9 euro, it was valid for 24 hr and good for up to 3 people.
Walking to the tram station is about 10-12 min, and from there the tram is about 15 min to the center.
- Tricia_Lea72 (8/5): Overnight visit good all round - I had looked at this hotel prior to leaving the uk due to its location nr Strasbourg. Easy access to Strasbourg via Tram or bike (which we had). The bike route leads from hotel at Canal all the way to Notre Dame Cathedral taking about 20 mins.
The hotel was basic but very clean, lovely host and optional breakfast for €9 each. Snacks also available.
Hotel was closed from 12-18hr but host only a call away.
Would stay again and good value.
- bmant183060 (10/5): Great - Really nice hotel in a nice area. Very clean and large room and bathroom. Staff very helpful and friendly (and speak perfect english!). Good location with tram links and supermarket opposite. Would highly recommend.
- pn0vak (8/5): Better in winter than in summer - The hotel has warm welcome and good position not far from A and E tram stop Bagersee. They give you glass and open the bottle if you by it in nearby Auchan. But it is better to live there in winter. Heating is good. But there is no aircondition, just a mechanic ventilator on the ceeling. If you open the window in the evening, expect company of some moskitos.
- Mr. Krause (8/5): A very nice hotel to explore Strasbourg - We stayed for a weekend to explore Strasbourg and surroundings.
- jean-christophe_56 (8/5): Visitor's nest in the suburb - Quaint and pleasant house in the south suburb
We enjoyed welcome and nice caring staff - full of advice for visits, restaurants etc
Beautiful buffet breakfast
Very convenient access, parking and calm surroundings
shopping mall and tramway line proximity (5' walk)
- Dr. Puongtip (6/5): - Not bad. No elevator. Not convenient for guest with large luggage.
- mariajc2013 (6/5): Affordable room with free parking - Fine hotel for a stayover not far from the center. The hotel looks tired and in need of renovation, but the room was clean. The bathroom is a little moldy and the shower curtain needs replacement. I think for the price we paid we couldn't expect more. Private parking is a plus. The man at the reception was really nice and gave us useful information to get to the city center by tram and things to see. The hotel is in a residential area and you need to either drive or take public transport to the city, otherwise it's a bit far.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Overall nice, with some buts - Comfortable hotel, clean in average, and good breakfast (though not much variety of food I must say).
The hotel is a bit old in style (and also the bathrooms are old, like made in the 70s), but it is overall clean.
The staff is nice and helpful. Overall it was good, but I did not enjoy seeing flies around the breakfast buffet (also because two toilets are not that far from the buffet).
I would suggest the hotel to put some mosquito screens or other means to prevent mosquitos from entering the rooms at night.
With a few rivers in Strasbourg and a couple of canals in the area, it can become a problem in hot summer days - particularly because there is not conditioning (only cieling fan)
- Verified traveler (6/5): Vicino a Strasburgo. Comodo - Stanze abbastanza piccole e datate ma pulite. Personale gentile
- Tres bien. Personnel tres gentil et accueillant. Chambre propre et confortable.
- 321travelerf (6/5): Average - I've been there with my GF in December for a weekend. We ended up paying 199 euros for 2 nights (including the city tax and the breakfast for one day). This is quite expensive considering the fact that the hotel is not located in Strasbourg, though I have to mention that the location is close to public transportation and, by car, there are 15 to 20 minutes to the center of the city depending on traffic.
Personally I didn't liked the bathroom, especially the shower cabin which was too small and not very clean (the curtain was dirty). There was no proper quilt and the blanket that we were suppose to use was very low quality and very used.
The breakfast was poor (not too much variety - just some ham, jambon ,2 types of cheese, butter, jam and croissant) .
The staff was ok and helpful.
We had free wifi and free parking.
The view from the room was nice.
Overall is a nice&cozy place which needs some improvements/modernization.
- Michael181736 (8/5): Expect To Return - A lovely small hotel with a welcoming and helpful owners and staff! An excellent breakfast for a good price. Clean and well equipped rooms with large adjoining bathrooms. Some rooms have lovely views of the canal. We booked for three days and extended for a fourth. Hope to return.
- ancass2016 (10/5): Short stay in Strassbourg - Pleasant short stay at Le Domino. Very simpathetic staff and clean facilities. Easy to find and located in a quiet and nice area. The hotel has the great advantage of having a secure parking for free!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good cheap hotel. - Stayed with wife and young child. Good hotel, clean room, good food, staff was helpful and kind. No problems to report.
- GalaxyTraveler (6/5): just OK for an inexpensive one-night stay - The positives: Inexpensive hotel for the Strasbourgh area; parking was free and easy and relatively secure; friendly cat greeted us outside upon our arrival; breakfast (at extra cost) was overall above average.
The negatves: kinda musty throughout (drip stains on stairway walls); no shower curtain and no floor drain so lots of water mess on floor after shower; very boring suburban location ... no nearby restaurants within a 15-minute walk.
Verdict: I would not stay here again.
- MartinW_Dublin (8/5): Nice little place - This was a two-star hotel and very modestly priced, so we didn't come with enormously high expectations. First impressions were disappointing: an impersonal greeting from the lady at reception - not unfriendly, but certainly not friendly either. A smile, a pleasant greeting, cost nothing! Then, going up the stairs to our room there was a musty, dank smell.
After that, things improved. It was just a short drive into the centre of Strasbourg, the hotel was in a peaceful suburb, the bathroom and bedroom were spacious (but the wardrobe very tiny). Everything was clean, the room quiet, the bed comfortable. In the morning my opinion of the hotel shot up: a genuine, friendly greeting from the man in charge of breakfast, an equally friendly "bonjour" from a female member of staff who just happened to be passing through the dining room. Pleasant dining room with plenty of space between the tables. Very nice breakfast. When leaving, I brought the cases out to the car while my partner checked out. He, too, was so impressed by the manner and manners of the guy on duty that morning.
Final impression: this establishment deserves three stars.
- Jones499 (6/5): Some good points - This hotel is a bit out of town but is 10 minutes walk to the Baggarsee tram station, making it an overall 30 minute trip into the heart of the city.
Our room, on the top floor was ok, but our friends rooms were small, dark, and a bit claustrophobic. Some of the maintenance was lacking, but this well made up for by the very helpful owner/manager. He posted postcards, helped us with a difficult forward booking, and was generally kind to us.
Breakfast was good.
Our room looked out on the canal which was pleasant but there was quite a lot of road noise.
- rubbertgator (8/5): Great Value - This hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. Good value for the money and secure parking for cars. We reserved a triple but the bed for the third person was more like an army cot.
Large desk, no elevator.
- LucV670 (10/5): We were absolutely charmed - Affordable 2 Star hotel in a quiet area. Entrance and parking with a code.
Free Wifi, even in the rooms. Big flat screen tv. Bathroom even with a tub, although small.
Well kept, personal touches everywhere. See picture of weatherforecast in the breakfast room.
Complete breakfast, even with meats and cheese. Don't forget, you are in France.
Almost directly behind the canal. So we were immediately on track for our biketour.
