Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful stay. Will return. (Not a problem but be aware that bedroom doors do not lock when you are out & about.)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quaint, small, great location, good breakfast and friendly owner.
- Theresa (10/5): Delightful and delicious - The house is an old manor house on a peach farm. It is beautiful and our room was spacious and bright. There are lounging areas both inside and outside. The house is only a few minutes away from the Shaw Festival Theatre and the shops and boutiques of the town. The breakfast is exceptional with homemade jams, jellies, and preserves, fresh baked items (such as croissants), yogurt, fruit, eggs ( devilled or hard boiled or frittata), juice, etc. My sister and I were happy and comfortable during our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and had no complaints.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very beautiful house and great breakfasts. Renie and Dinie were both very nice. You should be aware though that there is a cat in the house. It does not come upstairs, so no problem sleeping, but it comes in the dining room. If, like my husband, you’re a little allergic, you might sneeze once or twice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - enjoyed the whole experience ,rooms ,staff brekfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Found the history of the building very interesting, they serve awesome breakfasts with lots of variety, cleanliness, building well maintained, family operated and they reside on the premises, son worked night shift and waited until all cars in before locking door, would have liked to have been able to lock our room when we weren’t there, there was inside an lock for when we were
- Beth (10/5): We loved our stay at HeatherCroft! See you again! - Fabulous place!!! Will definitely go back! Peaceful...clean... great breakfast....beautiful and close to Niagara-on-the-Lake! Thank you to our friendly hosts for having us!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The breakfast are outstanding and unique. Enjoyed the stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - like the location for wine tours, biking along the river and close to old town for shopping and theaters
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful home. Lovely people. Nice cat.great location for exploring wine country.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quaint and cozy, 7 minute drive from Niagara on the Lake. Definitely recommend and would go back!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice NOTL BnB - Property built in the 1700s has lots of character. Host Patrick was very helpful and friendly. Location is convenient to NOTL town, wineries and Niagara Falls.
- D (2/5): - The hotel cancelled on me the morning of my reservation as I was boarding my flight to Canada. By this point in time, there was very limited accommodations near by- none of which were affordable, so I was forced to cancel my trip and miss my friends wedding. Had the hotel given me any prior notice, I could have had more time to find another option, however, with 10 minutes to make a decision prior to my flight, this put me in a horrible situation. The hotel did not give a reason for the cancellation. Worst customer service ever.
- katherine (8/5): A great place , lots of character in fab location - A lovely house in a fabulous area, great for visiting the vineyards, Niagra on the Lake , & of course the falls. We had a large room with four poster bed which was really comfy, & lovely cereals and croissant with jams / boiled egg breakfast. It would have been nice to have tea /coffee making facilities in the bedroom & perhaps a tv....but still a great place to stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely B&B, the room was wonderful, and the prepared breakfasts were fabulous.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Bed & Breakfast in an 1819 house in a pleasant rural setting.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Perfect location to be near town but not in town for a nice quiet setting.
- Scotty (10/5): - Beautiful home..tasty breakfast and close to town and wineries....
- Ellie (10/5): Beautiful BnB with friendly staff & fab breakfast! - On arriving at the BnB, we realized that Google maps had misled us slightly regarding the distance from the BnB to the town itself - it was about a 50 minute walk in. however, this was not in anyway the BnB's fault, and we had a lovely two-night stay there. The room was beautiful, with a huge bed and en-suite bathroom. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful - we really appreciated how flexible they were regarding payment, as we couldn't pay the whole amount one go, and they were quite happy to receive the cash over two days, rather than all at once. We would definitely recommend this hotel!
- denise (4/5): first bed and breakfast and the last - served a great breakfast but the house needs a lot of work,it is a 200 year old house and it smells like it to
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Bed and breakfast with character - Great bed and breakfast in an old house with lots of character. The staff are really welcoming and accommodating.
It would be good if they had spare beds for people like us travelling with young children. We had to share our bed with our 4 year old son. But in all fairness the owner did change us from our original booked room into another one with a much bigger bed so we would be comfortable.
Breakfast was great with lots of options.
Would stay there again.
- Jen (10/5): Comfortable and clean B&B with yummy breakfast - Very comfortable. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious with everything you might need for an overnight stay. Decor is appealing. Hosts are very nice and accommodating. Quiet, especially after a long day. There is a small, grey cat that is usually kept out of sight. Cash only. Good wifi speed.
- Mary Beth (10/5): Niagara-on-the-Lake Bed and breakfast - Nice Bed and Breakfast close to the wineries and Heather was a wonderful hostess
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing! Felt like I was Jane Austen! - If you love the “Jane Austen” era then this is the B&B for you!! This 200 year old home is BEAUTIFUL and has so much character in every nook and cranny! I felt like we went back and time and it was so peaceful here! Thank you to the owner for being so lovely and easy to contact and communicate with! The room was VERY clean and everything smelled fresh and cozy! Being city dwellers we enjoyed how quiet the house was at night! Thank you for our warm stay! We will be back soon!
- LILIANE (10/5): Beautiful historical place. - Next year the house will be 200 years old!
The charming hostess is considerably younger!
Beautifully decorated room, very comfortable bed, quiet settings and excellent healthy breakfast.
What more can anyone want?
- Verified traveler (10/5): A gorgeous clean bed and breakfast - Absolutely fabulous. Heather and her staff make you feel like family. Beautiful accommodations in a lovely historic home. Do not miss breakfast here!!! Delicious and wholesome. We’ll be back time and time again. Best value you can get in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
- katy (8/5): - Less than 2 miles from town. Very quiet and quaint bed and breakfast.
- Peter (8/5): Beautiful Weekend Getaway - My wife and I stayed here over the weekend and had an amazing time. Renie was so kind and accommodating. The house was beautiful and our room was very comfortable. The B&B is only about a 5 min drive to downtown Niagara on the Lake and very close to many wineries. The breakfast as well was terrific.
We would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Niagara on the Lake.
- Verified traveler (8/5): quiet location in heritage home - Breakfast was delicious with numerous choices including local produce (eg. peaches and peach jam made the evening before - Yum!)
- Kim (10/5): Lovely, historic home in a beautiful setting. - A charming place to stay, away from the crowds on a holiday weekend.
- Sophia (10/5): HeatherCroft B&B - My two friends and I stayed in the blue room for two nights on a short trip to Niagara and we loved staying at HeatherCroft! The house itself is beautiful and clean, with every detail taken care of, and it is surrounded by vineyards and orchards on all sides, though it's only a short drive from town. Checking in and out was easy and breakfast was lovely. We enjoyed the family-style environment and meeting the other travelers staying there. I would highly recommend HeatherCroft to anyone visiting the Niagara area!
- Saul (10/5): Charming B&B Near Town - HeatherCroft is a charming place to spend a few days when staying in Niagara-on-the-Lake. It is close enough to walk into the historic district (a healthy 40 minute walk) and convenient to many of the wineries in the area. The room we stayed in is spacious with a very comfortable king-sized bed. Renie and Patrick were very friendly and made us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious, too. This was the second time we stayed at HeatherCroft.
- Don (6/5): Just ok - The location is ok as to close to town but we found it noisy from traffic and from in room a/c. Breakfast was on second day less than satisfactory as when extra croissants were requested none were forthcoming. While ok there are lots better in area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quiet, nice old house, huge ceilings - very nice people, quiet, nice beds, spacious room, great old house
- Mary (10/5): - Great place
- Christopher (6/5): Charming old house - if that's what you want. - I'm sure others will disagree from our perspective. It's an old house. We are spoiled from staying in other new houses that are built as B&B's. There's no AC in the bedrooms. Not sure what they do in the summer. Bathroom is incredibly small. Toilet is very low. HORRIBLE water pressure in the shower. Old thread bare towels. No TV in the room or anywhere in the house. I wanted to watch the Hockey/Basketball playoffs. Bed was comfy. People were friendly. Breakfast was nice but not very substantial. We had to go out to breakfast afterwards. Its a very charming old house - I'm sure for many people it's exactly what they are looking for. Oh and be warned - its cash only.
- John (10/5): - Our stay was amazing the room was excellent the host was gracious and very accommodating the breakfast was great with an abundance of locally grown fruit sweet peach jam made from peach trees on the property .
We highly recommend staying at HeatherCroft bed and breakfast and we intend to return during the summer.
- Kimberly (10/5): Friendly, Cozy, & Charming with Casual Hospitality - We had a wonderful time and Renie was so friendly and kept the coffee flowing for me ~ breakfast was great - we even had preserved peaches from their orchard right outside! She made us feel well taken care of without hovering. I loved the old fashioned decor and canopy bed of the Blue Room. We even were able to take a walk to "downtown" (45 minutes - warning if you don't like walking - we do). Uber was in town to bring us back to the B&B. WiFi in the room was fine - but we had no service in town - only if we connected with the restaurant we were in... just a heads up if you have Sprint!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Enjoyable stay ! - Beautiful old house, very clean and awesome breakfast ! Geat location, close to everything and all the wineries.
Unfortunately they accept cash only.
- Craig (10/5): Great little quiet spot - A lovely, relaxed little gem outside of Niagara-on-the-Lake. The owners are relaxed and laid back, we quite like the options for breakfast and the wifi was good. Great room filled with lots of nicknacks. We had to leave the room to access the bathroom, which was a mild inconvenience, but not the end of the world. And it was still a private bath. We enjoyed our stay there and would go again if in the area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Musky - B&B s are always risky - this one was muskier and dirtier than I was prepared for (windowsills were full of dead bugs, window wouldn't open, pillows and blankets smelled old and dirty). If you like old, dingy quarters this is for you - kids were shooed away from yard as it is private. There was no place to play, nothing to do, and distance to town was greater than expected.
Breakfast seemed okay (not much for gluten intolerance), but staff/owner was in quite a hurry to clear the table - felt quite rushed. Not really a good value for the money.
- James A (8/5): Historic venue - We were visiting Shaw Festival with our granddaughter, this B & B added an historic perspective to trip.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Interesting guests and hosts - Niagara-on-the-lake is a busy little town. Heathercroft is a peaceful getaway for downtime and relaxation. This 200 year old manor house is platinum.
- Kelly (10/5): Quiet old farmhouse very close to wineries - Great breakfast in a quiet old home close to all wineries and Niagara on the Lake
- Verified traveler (6/5): Quaint B&B - Our visit was very short as we were only there over night for a wedding. We were there just to sleep but everything was very nice and comfortable. Great value and super comfy beds and a nice breakfast in the morning.
- Dean (6/5): Nice house, there is a cat - The house was very nice. There is a cat, which may be a consideration for those that have allergies, like us. This was not mentioned on the hotels.com listing, nor was the fact that only cash is accepted as payment.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Close to Niagara-on-the-Lake - We enjoyed our two day stay at Heathercroft B&B. The room was great as were the breakfasts and the host. We were able to go into town in about 5 minutes to enjoy sight seeing, shopping and dining. May wineries in were located close by.
Loved it.
- Karen (10/5): We'll Be Back!! - We were very pleased with our stay. Our room was very comfortable, breakfast was great, and we can't think of anything we'd change. We took our bikes, and it was very easy to pick up bike trails and ride to wineries, into town, along the river - all great! It's not as convenient as a place in town, but it's not very far, and was perfect for us.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Stayed 3 nights - Very nice area away from the "touristy" area. Nice and quiet but still in close proximity to all local a
"attractions" and "interests".
