• Cyndi (8/5): - Very simple and clean! The views are spectacular. Located in the middle of everything you could enjoy! The hill is a steep drive so may not want to walk up n down. Owner is very communicative and has staff on site to meet your needs. we missed breakfast since we had other commitments at 8am. fully stocked kitchen so you can cook and refrigerate food. We will be back!

• Lola (10/5): - The owner reached out to me as soon as I made my reservation. I was able to text him with questions before and after our arrival. The staff greeted us and made sure we were comfortable for the evening. My kids loved that we were staying in a "castle". The experience is very different from staying in a traditional hotel. Very much a bed and breakfast and would be a great location for a family reunion or wedding party. All-in-all we felt safe, secure, attended-to and slept great. We will stay again if we are in the area.

Next day he apologized and came back the money for one night to me, but still let me stay in that uncomfortable room with a share bathroom outside the room 😡 even if the hotel was empty (no nice). I do not recommend it.

• Les (10/5): - This place is up on a steep hill with an incredible view of the ocean and area. The support staff were there when I arrived, check in was fast and simple. Breakfast offered everyday. Great value for what you receive. I am looking forward to returning in the future. I had a car so it was easy to drive up to the entrance. The walk could be a challenge for some depending on age and health. The owner (Joseph) followed up after I checked via phone just to make sure everything was fine. Very professional of him.

• Giuseppe (10/5): Bell’edificio dall’architettura particolare. - Vicino il centro ma immerso in una zona piena di vegetazione tropicale e tranquilla. Appena si entra ti colplisce la scala monumentale centrale in marmo/granito, da cui si accede alle camere che si trovano tutte intorno alla scala. Ogni camera si affaccia su un balcone da cui si vede un bellissimo panorama con vista fino al mare. La struttura è dotata di piscina. Molto cordiale e accurata l’ospitalità del signor… e della signora Morena, che prepara anche una buona colazione a base di omelette, caffè , latte, pane burro marmellata e succo. Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo. Consigliato.

• Thomas (10/5): - I give Castillo Romano 10 stars out of 5 stars if I could. I love this place so much it wasn't like staying in a motel it was more like home away from home. Words can not discribe how much I enjoyed staying there. When we go back to Las Terrenas to stay again I will definitely be staying there again. It was myself, my wife, and my 2 kids and we felt as if we were at home, the view omg was it breath taking mountains to the left ocean to the right. You sit up top the mountain and can see over the top of Las Terrenas. Such a beautiful relaxing place it definitely heals the heart, mind, body, and soul. The crew that works there was amazing anything we needed they were there right away. They made us an amazing breakfast every morning with fresh pick bananas. The crew isn't just workers they are now officially part of the family and we bacame apart of theirs even such much as we made dinner there one night and had Teo sit with us for dinner. Such an amazing crew and place I just can't say enough about it. Much love you guys, Much love. We miss them already.

The distance to the Las Terrenas town was only 5 minutes and also to the most beautiful beaches. Morena and Teo always helped us with anything that we needed it. Joseph the owner was always calling to check upon us and we still talk about the incredible experience. He is an amazing host. I can't wait to go back to his property and I definitely recommend it to my friends and family. It has a good size pool with very nice beach chairs and very clean and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. • natasha (10/5): This is the place for your next group event - The place was unbelievable. It was a beautiful and comfortable home with a beach view. There were two kitchens, two living rooms, a pool. The service was also exceptional with the doorman bringing our bags in and someone coming to cook for us in the morning. The place is completely private and excellent location.
• Richard (10/5): Unique! - An unusual place to stay! Located on a hillside in a private residential area, and difficult to find (Google Maps doesn't even know about the street which reaches it). But once you get there, you're well taken care of by Teo and Morena (the latter will fix a delicious breakfast at 9.00A)! Clean, quiet and safe, with great views from the balconies. Wonderful place to relax, and when you feel like it, take your car down and hit the beach!
• Nicole (10/5): Beau séjour au Castillo Romano - Nous avons bien aimé notre séjour au Castillo Romano. La pente pour y accéder est longue et très abrupte, mais l'effort est largement compensé par l'accueil très chaleureux de Morena et Theo, les responsables de l'endroit. Ces gens sont vraiment incroyables et valent à eux seuls le plaisir d'y séjourner. Un peu vieillotte, la maison est d'une propreté étincelante. Les balcons, tout autour de la maison, offrent une vue sur la mer et les collines environnantes. Elle possède plusieurs chambres, dont la majorité sont avec une salle de bain partagée. L'endroit est idéal si vous le réservez en entier pour un groupe ou pour fêter un événement particulier. La maison peut contenir plusieurs convives. Les rues principales de Las Terrenas, où on trouve de très bons restaurants, sont à quelques 10 minutes à pied. Le très sympathique proprio, Jo, n'est pas sur place mais est très facile à joindre par téléphone au besoin. Comme l'endroit peut être un peu difficile à trouver, il est préférable de lui téléphoner avant votre arrivée. Nous avons réservé via hôtels.com et les photos du site sont très représentatives de l'endroit. C'est un 3* très bien, où nous séjournerons à nouveau et que je recommande fortement.
• Verified traveler (8/5): - Like the name says, this place is shaped like a castle and it's up on a hill, so there are really great views of the sea and Las Terrenas. The inside of the house is fancy looking, with a huge staircase in the center and nice rooms, common areas, and bathrooms. There are wrap around balconies and rocking chairs so you can enjoy the view. I think this place is better to book in groups, because I noticed when the place was full the pool was clean and nice, but when people left and it was only me and my friend they didn't clean it and it became bad smelling and filled with things so it made us not want to go in again. Plus it's a huge place so it feels kind of strange when you're the only ones there. But it's a nice place with a great view!

• Kenny (10/5): Best view in town. - It was great experience and a breath taking view, as we got the couple suited with a private balcony. Joseph the owner provided excellent service and appreciation throughout our entire stay. Morena and Teo are some of the most amazing people you ever will meet, their attention and urgency to provide the most comfortable experience is beyond any rating that can be given. Now with great view, comes a few challenge. The castle is located on a peak that overlooks the town and ocean front. With Las Terenas being a tight and narrow town to drive in, is easy to miss at first, you literally have to look up into the mountain to see it. But once you are there you know it's worth it.
• Krystle (10/5): Great place! - We had such a great stay at Castillo Romano! We were greeted by Morena and Theo who were both so friendly and eager to help us learn Spanish! We felt like we were staying with old friends both nights we were there. They made us breakfast, brought us drinks at the pool, and even walked us down to the local bus stop when we needed to find it to ensure we didn't get lost and that we were told the appropriate price for the gua gua. The castle is gorgeous and has an incredible view and Las Terrenas was our favourite town on our backpacking trip around the Dominican. The location of the hotel is right in town and feels very safe other than one semi dark side road to walk down for less than 3 minutes just off the main roads. We did walk but if I was alone at night I would have taken a mototaxi (they are everywhere) just to feel more secure. Being a castle on top of a hill, the walk was very steep but scenic. Theo is a rockstar to run that hill multiple times a day! The owner, who lives in Canada was so kind and helpful; he was quick to respond to questions, gave great tips and suggestions for our trip, and even called to follow up with us about our experience. Overall, we wished we could have spent more time there but had a fantastic trip to continue on. We would love to pass on our sincere thanks to both Morena and Theo, who gave us his contact number so we can practice our Spanish with him! Haha Great property, great staff. Very pleased we decided to stay here.

• lars (8/5): Svårt med incheckning, annars mycket fint - Ett litet "slott" på kulle med fantastisk utsikt. Vi hade problem vid ankomsten eftersom det inte finns reception. Trots att vi försökte ringa och mejla dagen innan fick vi ingen kontakt. Efter stor hjälp av vår taxichaufför fick vi tag på personal som kunde ta emot oss. De pratar ingen engelska och vår spanska är tämligen rudimentär. Det framkom att besked om vår ankomst inte hade gått fram så rummet var ej klart eller städat. Detta var en söndag så först på måndagen fick vi städat och rena lakan. Efter detta har vi bara goda ord om vistelsen. Theo och Morena var mycket vänliga och vi fick mycket goda frukostar lagade till oss av Morena. Som plåster på såren fick vi det finaste rummet med eget stort badrum. Intill allrummet fanns en terras med utsikt över havet. Så vi är mycket nöjda och stannade ytterligare en natt.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Castillo Romano is a great choice for your stay in Las Terrenas. Informal Check in with nice and friendly hosts ( Morena and Theo ). It is like that you are staying in your rich friend Castel and not in a Hotel. The manager, Joseph, who lives in Canada called me several times to make sure everything was O.K. and it was. Nice location, except the walk to the main road, close to everything and magnificent view from the balcony. I strongly recommend this place.
• Riku (8/5): Perfect stay at Castillo Romano - Our visit at Castillo Romano was great! We basically had the whole castle for ourselves as there was only one other guest at the time we were there. Location is perfect, nice view out to the sea, only five to ten minute walk to the beach and the whole concept of the place is nice. This is not a five star hotel and there's no reception. You can come and go as you wish. The groundskeeper Theo will take care of you and help you with anything. He really is a wonderful person! The staff doesn't speak english but we managed to understand eachother nevertheless. There are two kitchens you can use and cook your meal. The maid even prepared us breakfast few times. The whole place felt more like a home than a hotel. Contacting the owner was easy by phone and he speaks english too as he lives in Canada.

• Jessica (10/5): Amazing stay at the castle with a view - We made last minute reservations at Castillo Romano and we are so happy we did. You are literally staying in a castle on top of a hill. It's very close to town, but up a steep hill. It's possible on foot, but having a car or taking a motorcycle would be best. Theo (the security gaurd) met us and showed us our room. He could not have been more helpful. He made us coffee in the mornings and arranged for us to get the bus back to Santo Domingo. Our room and the entire house was spotless. We had access to the kitchens and living rooms. Great looking pool, although we didn't take advantage as the beach was so close. I spoke with the owner over the phone, and he was very pleasant. I would recommend this place to people who want to rent the entire place, or even just for a couple like us who want a nice getaway. We will return!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Schönes Gebäude mit toller Aussicht - Nach einer steilen Auffahrt haben wir das schöne Gebäude erreicht. Tolle Aussicht schön hergerichtet im Stil einer Villa oder kleinen Schlösschens. Alles ist sehr familiär und das Personal ist super nett. Es gibt wirklich einen kleinen Pool der zwar in der Beschreibung steht es aber kein Foto bei Expedia gibt. Wir haben dort das Frühstück und auch die Klimaanlage genutzt, sonst wäre ein Schlafen bei dem tropischen Klima nicht möglich gewesen, es wurde aber auch auf Nachfragen nichts extra dafür berechnet. Hier scheint die Beschreibung der Zusatzkosten falsch zu sein. Ohne die Zusatzkosten hat das Haus ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und kann von mir und meiner Familie (2 Erwachsene mit 2 Kindern 12/9J) uneingeschränkt weiter Empfohlen werden. Die Suite im Maisonette Stil ist wunderschön und hat 2 Schlafzimmer und 2 Bäder.
• Serdar (10/5): Perfect/Excellente/Sehr Gut ( High Luxus for Cheap - I can recommend this Hotel. Its a nice Villa with nice Service. Everything is very clean and save. There is a nice View to the Beach and City centre and its 1 minute walking to the downtown. I didnt feel like a Hotel gust there, i felt like a King in a Castle. I still cant understand why the Hotel is so cheap. For sure i will come back soon.
• Verified traveler (10/5): FIRST CLASS ACCOMMODATION!!! - The overall standard of Castillo Romano, and the extraordinary level of service offered by the staff, transcended my expectations! The staff's ability to connect with guests, and their relentless pursuit in ensuring I was happy, have made my stay here second to none! Other plus points as follows; - fantastic ocean view!! - Close to a pristine beach ( a 5 minute drive from the hotel ) - Grounds are meticulously maintained and the entire hotel is tastefully decorated - only a 5 minute walk to all the shops, bars and restaurants. - Just close enough to the action, but far enough away not to be disturbed by any noise I wish other resorts would follow Castillo Romano's lead! I cannot fault the hotel or staff in any way:)
