Amei Acho que por ser tratar de Caribe, todos os quartos deveriam ter tv e ar condicionado! Eu acabei na pressa escolhendo o quarto e não me atentei para esse detalhe e quando eu cheguei lá, meu quarto não tinha nem tv e nem ar e para fazer a mudança o quarto disponível era o dobro do preço, mas volto a dizer, erro meu! Gostaria de deixar só essa dica, para que o serviço fique ainda melhor!

- Pablo (8/5): Invertir en una buena señal de INTERNET y WIFE - La limpieza de la habitación y del hotel en general y por sobre todo la amabilidad del personal partiendo por la recepción, las jóvenes que servían el desayuno hasta los varones que estaban limpiando jardines. Lo realmente NEGATIVO es la instalación de Internet, es MALISIMO NO SE PODIA VER TV y lo otro es la conexión a WIFE MALISIMO en la habitación era imposible poder tener una conexión que durara mas de 5 minutos. Esto fue realmente NEGATIVO.
- Vanessa (5/5): A Great Hotel Unfortunately Tainted by the Actions of One Bad Manager! - This is a tricky review as the property itself is amazing & was in an ideal location close to the beach. We booked the Howler suite which is apparently the best View in the Hotel & it did not disappoint as we were so looking forward to 5 days of paradise & uninterrupted peace & relaxation. But unfortunately this was not the case! The food was good (except for the last night) and most of the staff are lovely & very helpful, especially the receptionist Deanna & the other girl (can’t remember her name) who went out of their way to help us on many occasions. But unfortunately one member of staff (they called him Jeffrey) who I believe was a manager, went out of his way to make our stay as uncomfortable as possible, which has left a slightly sour taste in our mouth & has unfortunately reflected in the score and in our review, as his actions have affected our opinions greatly on our experience of the Hotel in general! Because without his bad attitude we would have scored a lot higher, but had to be honest about how his behavior may affect future guests & their experiences too! It’s a shame really, as his behavior lets the whole Hotel down as he is the weakest link in this operation, because without him this place would be amazing! We spent a lot of money in this place, staying in the best room, and on tips for staff & on food & drinks so did not expect such bad manners from a high ranking member of staff! We don’t know what we did to receive such bad treatment But we weren’t the only ones! We noticed he seemed to pick out a few guests he didn’t like & did his best to make us feel unwelcome & uncomfortable! Which is extremely unprofessional & very poor Management skills! Because no matter what his personal opinion is of us, his job is to make sure our stay & our experience is as comfortable & pleasant as possible no matter what he thinks! Bad Management from one particular member of staff who we believe is a Manager called Jeffrey, who went out of his way to make our stay as unpleasant as possible! Very poor management skills & lack of professionalism & hospitality experience & basic social skills, reflects in his attitude & behavior towards paying guests especially high paying guests! It Lets the Hotel down in a big way, as our bad experience of his behavior will be shouted from the rooftops! I run a very successful beauty business is London & deal with people every day, and if I treated any of my clients the way he treated us I would have no business at all! I also deal with very rich, high ranking business people, celebrities, musicians, politicians & even Royalty & I will make sure all of them know what sort of experience I had & how we was treated by this individual! It’s such a shame as the Hotel itself is amazing & most of the other members of staff were lovely but unfortunately our experience was tainted by his bad attitude! Also there is no air con! We had a roof fan, but for the best room/ best view in the hotel, they should maybe invest in air con! Also the drinks were not always what they seemed! We don’t know if it was the Jeffrey situation intervening, but for the first couple of days the drinks were great, but then after that we noticed our cocktails did not have alcohol in them even tho we were paying for it! If you sat at the bar & watched then they were ok but if we ordered drinks at the beach then they did not have alcohol in them! I’m not a big drinker, but like a cocktail on holiday, so I can taste even the smallest amount of alcohol & ours did not taste of it at all! There was an American guy in the beach one day who we overheard sending a drink back because it had No alcohol in it, & when I spoke to him & told him our experience he said it happens sometimes!

- Mario (1/5): Will not recommend to book. - We left the hotel after the first night due to serious issues. There was no electricity, water was only partially available and had an unpleasant smell. Under these conditions, the accommodation was not usable, so we checked out early the next day. At the reception we were told that the unused nights would not be charged. However, the full amount was charged to our credit card. Booking.com tried to mediate, but unfortunately no solution was reached, and the hotel never replied in writing. Very disappointing experience.

- A67G (8/5): - Größe und Ausstattung der "Villa" ist sehr gut Die Lage ist nicht besonders gut, über die Straße hinter einem Mini-Markt gelegen. Umgeben von 2.5m hohen Mauern und abends Flutlicht von der Straßenbeleuchtung. Auf den Bildern der Website ist das alles nicht erkennbar.

- Paraskevi (8/5): Great beachfront location, worth a stay in Puerto Viejo. - Hotel located in Playa Negra which is perfect. You can walk around 25mim or take tuk tuk/taxi for the centre . The restaurant was nice and had some good options for breakfast ,lunch/dinner. We stayed in Howler suite and the view was amazing. Probably best room there. Special thanks to Laura that’s working in the restaurant. She was always smile and happy to help. Rooms need some maintenance. We gave some clothes for wash to cleaning services and two t-shirts came back with bleach on them. Staff need to be more careful.

- Piotr (5/5): - Hotel is placed very beautifully almost on the beach and in a beautifull garden. And this is it mainstream advantage. Unfotunately hotel is old and used. We have rented willa which is placed in beautifull garden but everthing was old, used and even destroyed. The glass door from the shower to the tarrase was broken, the lock on main door was also broken etc. Besides everything was dirty. We asked the service to clean floor because it was black from the dirt. Of course they reacted very quicly but it seems they simply cant do it properly. It was better but still dirty and they did it only on ground floor not touching it on the first floor. It seems they do not know how to keep rooms clean. Besides we have been staying there for four nights and on our arrival they informed us on the problems with WiFi in the hotel and that they work on repairng it. Unfortunately they did not repair it at all and the whole time we did not have any acess to WiFi in our willa.

- Christof (8/5): Schönes Hotel mit Defiziten - Tolle Lage direkt am Strand, wunderschöner Garten, das Zimmer, Ocean2, hatte eine schöne,große Terrasse mit seitlichem Meerblick. Das Frühstück hätte etwas reichlicher und abwechslungsreicher sein können. Beim Service ist noch Luft nach oben, das Personal wirkt nicht sehr motiviert, beim Frühstück musste man sehr lange warten, bis man die 2.Tasse Kaffee bekam, der Service am Strand wär sehr spärlich, teils gar nicht vorhanden, wir sollten täglich bezahlen, was wir auch getan haben, im System wurde das scheinbar nicht vermerkt, so dass wir jeden Tag die Rechnung für alle Tage serviert bekamen und uns jedesmal erklären mussten, einschließlich beim auschecken, das war sehr nervig. In unserem Zimmer konnte man die Abluft der Küche sehr laut hören, das ist sehr unschön.

Me dicen q el bloqueo puede durar hasta un mes en q me lo devuelvan ... Hoy estoy en hotel suerres Guápiles me bloquearon la mitad y al llegar me cobraron el otro 50 % y así pague el total.... Estaré insistiendo a booking para recuperar esos 200 dolares...

Short walk to the beach from the property. Beach is beautiful. We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurent. Food was delicious!!! The staff is very friendly. We really enjoy our stay and wished it was longer. There is a main road behind the hotel and it can be noisy. Especially at 6:00 in the morning with trucks and loud music at end of day.

- Mommy4three (10/5): Romantic Adults Only Hotel - Hotal Banana Azul is quite remote and romantic. The beautiful beach is too rough to swim but lovely at sunset and the restaurant/bar will serve you there. We loved the open air covered restaurant with excellent service and menu. I had the delicious parfait every morning. The plantine nachos were so delicious. The ocean rooms have large lanais with a table and chairs to enjoy. Please note that this is a remote hotel requiring an Uber to town or to Cahuita National Park. A sloth lives up in the trees, an large iguana is in one of the trees, and lots of poisonous small frogs on leaves. The pictures are accurate. If you like adventure, the outdoors, quiet, and romance, this is the place for you!!

- Michael (6/5): Michael - Wir hatten für 5 Nächte die Green Frog Suite mit eigenem kleinem Pool. Schönes Zimmer und Bad und der Strand 100m entfernt. Zum Zentrum sind es 5 Min mit dem Auto. Das Frühstück beinhaltet 1 Essen, für 10 USD, also z.B Rührei mit 1 Toast und 1 Saft. Habe mir im Supermarkt nebenan immer noch 1 Zimtschnecke gekauft und mit zum Frühstück genommen um satt zu werden. Es gibt maximal 2 Kaffee, jeden weiteren muss man extra bezahlen. Zimmerpreis war Euro 200 / Nacht und dann so ein Frühstück, echt enttäuschend.

- Sue (9/5): Excellent stay in a wonderful place with amazing biodiversity, lovely friendly people, great music and fabulous cocktail - The villa we stayed in, the lovely tropical gardens, the seafront position. That it was walkable to Puerto Viejo. The food was excellent. Some updating could be done to the villa. It was very comfortable and we loved it, but there were some maintenance issues.

Schönes Restaurant mit leckerem Frühstück sowie Essen (allgemein) und Cocktails. Freundliches und professionelles Personal, immer hilfsbereit. Parking sowie kleiner Supermarkt gegenüber der Straße. Tolle Massage vor Ort.

- Heinz (4/5): Das ist eine längere Geschichte… - Vorab: wir hatten eine gute Zeit im Banana Azul. Warum diese schlechte Bewertung? 1.) wer in den Fotos einen weißen Strand suggeriert, man aber am tiefschwarzen Playa Negra liegt, dem gebührt maximal eine 1 von 10. Das grenzt an Betrug. 2.) dass die von uns gebuchte „Villa“ für 4 Personen außerhalb der Anlage, hinter einem Supermarkt und einer durchschnittlich befahrenen Straße liegt, hätte man bei der Auswahl auf booking.com offen kommunizieren sollen - ein Luftbild auf dem man das nur erkennt, wenn man vor Ort war, reicht da nicht aus. Auch hier 1 von 10. Gleich nach der Anreise war ich sicher, hier eine 1 zu vergeben. Die 4 ist letztendlich das Resultat daraus, dass wir das Beste daraus gemacht haben. +es gab genügend Liegen am (schwarzen) Strand +die Küche ist sehr gut +das Frühstück war lecker +das Personal und die Leitung sehr freundlich +die Villa (nr.4) war schön und gut ausgestattet Eine Reise nach Costa Rica macht man nicht alle paar Monate zudem handelt es sich nicht um einen Billigurlaub. Hätten wir reale Fotos und eine ehrliche Lagebeschreibung der Unterkunft bekommen, wäre unsere Wahl sicher auf ein anderes Ressort gefallen. Dass wir trotzdem unseren Urlaub genossen haben lag wohl eher an unserem Pura Vida😎
- Robyn (8/5): Relaxing Stay! - We liked the ocean front location, the well-groomed gardens and the spacious size of our villa. There are lots of things that could be improved (e.g., broken screen doors that don’t close properly; the VERY loud pump for our plunge pool; broken pool tiles and no maintenance/cleaning of the plunge pool while we stayed for 5 days (the roof cleaning guy knocked dirt into the pool while cleaning/birds too); the place needs more servers in the restaurant, and a person to help guests take luggage to their rooms; there needs to be better communication between front desk and restaurant staff (we were given drink tokens/coupons and staff didn’t know what to do, making it awkward for us); the falling palm fronds could do damage to guests walking to their rooms; the cost and service standards/room standards (chipped paint in kitchen, broken pool tiles, run down beach huts, etc.) didn’t really match; need more staff at beach to keep things cleaner and offer guests services). Restaurant staff were generally friendly (could be more attentive; I shouldn’t have to ask for water or juice, or for a coffee refill; it should just be offered). Service is a huge factor in our enjoyment while vacationing, and we had no phone to get room service. I suggest having an experienced manager present at all times to solve challenges. Everyone (except the bartender and one restaurant server) seemed pretty young.

- Dierk (8/5): Ein schönes und ruhig gelegenes Hotel, gute Ausgangspunkt für Touren an der Karibik Küste. - Die Anlage des Hotels ist sehr gepflegt, mit direkter Anbindung an einen Privatstrand. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Bei Unternehmungen wurden wir gut beraten und unterstützt. Das Frühstück war abwechslungsreich, sehr frisch und gut zubereitet. Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig. Ich konnte meinen Zimmernachbarn neben mir schnarchen hören, als wenn er mit in meinem Bett liegen würde… Unser Bad war/ist etwas renovierungsbedürftig.

- Serah (10/5): Heerlijk - De locatie is echt geweldig. We verbleven in een kleine Cabina aan het strand dus het was heerlijk rustig. Leuk ingericht en een lekker bed. Met een paar stappen stonden we op het strand wat echt heel bijzonder is. Vond het ontbijt (wat inclusief was) wel lekker maar weinig, als je iets extra wilde moet je bij betalen (ook voor bijv een extra kop koffie).

Easy to work with helped my boyfriend set some stuff up for my birthday very nice Pictures were slightly misleading, ocean rooms had no ocean view which is interesting because they’re named ocean room. Not sure I liked everything being charged to my room. I would’ve liked to have the option of paying right there or later. Maybe a little more attentiveness to the people on the beach.. And Yall might need to do some maintenance on the bikes.
- Sarah (9/5): Pleasant stay at a hotel with great facilities and helpful staff - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant served nice food though I preferred going into town for more variety of cuisines. It was a little out of town but I hired a bicycle from the hotel and it was great for getting around. It also had a shop which was useful for grabbing snacks and water. There was no air con so the room did get stuffy. There were 2 fans but I struggled with it being too hot.

Eigener Parkplatz vor dem Bungalo.w Der Hauptbereich des Hotels ist zwar erstklassig, aber wir hatten leider einen ausgelagerten Holzbungalow, der sehr spartanisch und dunkel war. Ich kann bei der Buchung nur empfehlen, genau zu schauen, welches Zimmer man bucht und wo das liegt. Wir hätten das Zimmer außerhalb nicht gebucht, wenn wir uns der Lage bewusst gewesen wären. Aber wir haben nicht genau hingeschaut

- Simona (8/5): Viel zu teuer für das, was anbietet - Tolle Lage, Toast mit Eier und Käse zum Frühstück super lecker. Der Kaffee beim Frühstück ist auf zwei kleinen Tassen begrenzt. Für mehr muss man zahlen. Für den Preis von 180€ pro Nacht schon eine Frechheit. Das Personal beim Frühstück wirkt unmotiveirt, extrem langsam (wir wissen, was pura vida heißt!!) und nicht besonders freundlich. Am letzten Tag haben wir 45 Minuten aufs Frühstück gewartet. Unnötige laute Musik beim Frühstück. Das Zimmer viel zu dunkel. Fakt - für den Preis ist nur tolle Lage nicht genug.

- Venture28106695728 (10/5): Vacation at Puerto Viejo - This is an adult only hotel. Small but very cute and space is used very wisely. A few rooms are located next to the restaurant/bar, a few right above, some on the building next to it and some on a different building at 3 minutes walking distance in which I consider the best location if you love the quite. If you want complete quite, make sure you do not rent right next to the bar. I rented a room that looks like a cabin and was beautiful. The atmosphere is amazing, quite, friendly and private. The area is very clean and people are very nice and the food is very good. A small store is located across the street and parking area. The hotel is by the beach where some room may have a beach view. You can rent transportation (tuc-tuc) to near by restaurants or other beach. You can request tours from the same hotel and rent four track, bikes and motorcycles.

- Klara (8/5): - Traumhafte Lage, umgeben von Natur. Die Gartenanlage ist sehr schön angelegt. Der Blick von unserem Zimmer (Ocean) war traumhaft. Wenn man aufmerksam ist, kann man Rund um das Hotel viele Tiere beobachten. Viele Faultiere, Affen, Iguanas, viele Vögel und Frösche. Das Hotel veranstaltet jeden Tag kleine Aktivitäten. Die Küche ist sehr sehr gut (Kompliment an das Küchenpersonal) auch wenn etwas hochpreisig. Es gibt sehr unterschiedliche Zimmer, deshalb gut lesen beim buchen. Wir hatten ein Kühlschrank, keine Klima aber einen guten Ventilator. Es gibt ein super Parkplatz und es war ein toller Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge. Es gibt Badetücher und Yoga Matten. Wir würden es nochmal genauso buchen. Personal an der Rezeption zuvorkommend! Sehr hellhörig, da sehr offen. Direkt hinter unserem Zimmer war die Lüftung von der Küche. Wenn sie abends (21:30Uhr)ausging waren wir erleichtert. Ohrstöpsel teilweise nötig. Wir wussten, dass wir keine Klima haben werden und kamen gut zurecht, allerdings wäre ein Moskitonetz an der Terassentür gut gewesen. Es gibt zwar eins überm Bett, aber das lässt keine Luft durch. Wie vorher geschrieben, war die Küche und auch Cocktails sehr sehr gut. Allerdings empfanden wir die Preise als etwas übertrieben. 17$ (+ 23% Steuern und Service) für eine Carbonara zahlt man nichtmal in höherpreisigen Restaurants in Deutschland. Für jede Kleinigkeit muss man sofort zahlen, verstehe nicht warum das nicht auf die Hotelrechnung geht. Wir können die Bewertung von einem vorherigen Reisenden nachvollziehen. Das Pura vida bei der Restaurantbedienung fehlte. Einige waren sehr serviceorientiert aber hatten leider nicht alle den gleichen Standard. An unterschiedlichen Tagen wurden wir von einer Bedingung bedient, welche einfach den Eindruck gemacht hat, als wäre sie total genervt von uns. Während die einen nett die Sorten Tee aufzählten, knallte uns die andere einfach irgendeinen Tee auf den Tisch. Bei den Preisen darf das einfach nicht passieren und es einen Unterschied machen, wer einen bedient.
