Easy to find a quiet spot or join in with others. The staff were friendly and had amazing dogs that were happy to snuggle/get pets. Breakfast spread was robust and tasty. Beware of the unpaved road to the property with some potholes and ruts as they could take some by surprise.

sherry (10/5): The whole experience was much more than we anticipated. Will be back to Pagosa Springs and Elktrace - The room had lots of space and two large windows that overlooked the forest. The bathroom was very large with a great shower and got water. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were so soft The breakfast was excellent, all made from scratch. Waffles with mult options of toppings, scrambled eggs, two different sausages and fresh fruit, plus parties and coffee. Nothing, no changes needed. The road to the house was typical of Colorado, in need of repair.

Lynne (7/5): Views were fantastic and the weather was just as good. - Dogs were roaming around us during breakfast that I thought was inappropriate. I am allergic. The main lodge where breakfast was served had a "funny" smell upon entering. Kind of like an "old people's" smell. The lodge was full of dust. Road getting to the lodge needs help. Owner/manager??? changed rate on us upon checkout.

Ileana (10/5): Relaxing and quaint with break taking views - Elktrace Bed and Breakfast was an unexpected treat. The views and the staff were simply amazing! The staff is so caring and friendly and you can tell how much they value the property and their guests. There was nothing I would actually change about my stay! If anything, I wish I were able to stay longer and really take in the environment and relax at the B&B. I loved the moments I was able to just walk around and catch a breath from the busy wedding weekend I had with my friends.

John (2/5): we will not be staying again - the breakfast were good Cleanliness of the room was bad there were spider webs in the corners of the room, the sheets did not appear to have been changed prior to our arrival, mold in the corners of the shower, the roof of the room has water stains from a leak, the patio area was unfinished. We had booked a date many months ago, and we were contacted by another B&B saying we were going to stay there, there was no communication from Elktrace,, we had to rebook at a different date on our own. In hindsight we should have stay at the other place, we will not be staying at Elktrace again. Elk trace communication is leaves a lot to be desired.

Harold (3/5): This was my second time staying here. First time was great. Will not stay here again. Very disappointed. - The owners were very nice. Bathroom door locks did not work (people could walk in while you were using the bathroom or taking a shower). The beds had dirt in them(daughter had to sleep on top of the bed). The floors were dirty (after taking a shower and walking back to your bedroom your feet were dirty). The towels had an odor (musty smell). The 2.1 mile road was terrible (large potholes) to get to the house. Large dogs running all over the house. I have dogs myself, but did not like them running around you while you ate. Melissa (10/5): Super value and beautiful place. We loved it - Super lovely environment. Great common areas and outside space to roam. Tasty large breakfast in great room. Owners were helpful and friendly. Sky at night was beautiful (stars). Tv was glitchy. Approx 15-20 minutes from main area.

Emma (8/5): Would stay again. - The staff, the breakfast, and the views were amazing! Side note: Be prepared for a dirt road and lots of dogs. The room we stayed in was right above the utility room and was 80 degrees till we opened a window. Not related to the hosts or stay, but a guest had a dog who barked constantly from 3am till 6am. Noting so, others can be prepared for the possibility.

Keesha (6/5): - Breakfast and location were good. The unit we stayed in was decorated nicely. It was fun to meet people at breakfast and the views from the property are nice and peaceful. The floors needed sweeping and the unit and whole B&B needed dusting. Trash such as q-tips and random plastic pieces were around the outside of the unit. We had the basement unit which was dark/not much natural light. The headboards on both beds were really loose and creaked every time we tossed and turned in bed.

Diana (3/5): Rustic - The scenery and breakfast. We never expected to be in an open loft with total strangers. We literally killed 10 moths prior to trying to go to sleep and doors opening during the night and a bear tearing up garbage kept us from sleeping. I understand the outdoors, but the windows, place needs a thorough cleaning. Rustic can still be clean and the furnishings can be upgraded. Dogs while you eat breakfast is a no can do for me.

Kenneth (5/5): - The property is absolutely gorgeous. The common area in the Annex is huge and comfortable . Nice porch with great views. The room my wife and I had in the Annex was satisfactory, however the door to the bathroom is ill fitted with np privacy. An easy fix. The bathroom is small. My shoulders touched the wall and shower door when using the sink. The main house where breakfast is served is beautiul . However when I wiped my feet at the front door it was full of dust and dog hair. There were 3 friendly dogs wandering around while we were eating. I like dogs but not while I'm eating. Most of this can be easily fixed and this place could be a 5. Breakfast was a 3. Caroline and Andy jewels. I would come back if these problems were resolved.
Austin (10/5): - Wow, my husband and I came here for a weekend getaway and absolutely loved it!! The B&B is so beautiful and the view is absolutely stunning. It was a peaceful! The staff were amazing and we met some great people! We stayed in the Annex Delux. We will definitely come again! I will clear up what questions I had before as it’s kind of hard to tell in the picture. The loft does not have a door and leads to downstairs where there are more rooms where other guest say and beautiful living room and kitchen area. It’s still very private, it just does not have a door to the upstairs. We were lucky and got some amazing people who were in the annex with us. Breakfast was amazing and the Evenly was so helpful! 10/10 would come again!
William (9/5): Great ranch stay! - We felt very welcome, the location right against the woods was beautiful and well supplied had a wonderful view from our room. The staff was very accommodating and the breakfast was totally amazing! The facilities were not exactly clean, and there was dogs lounging around the living quarters hence there was dog hair everywhere, although I under this is a working ranch so I can expect some dirt.

Bagno privato, cucina dotata di tutto il necessario, ogni dettaglio dell'arredamento è curato. La signora Evelyn gentilissima, abbiamo condiviso il momento della cena con la sua famiglia e gli altri ospiti, consentendoci di vivere un momento di socialità e di vera esperienza e condivisione umana. La colazione ricchissima, sembra di stare in famiglia, ci si sente a casa. Consigliatissimo!!! Niente!!!

Fabuleux petit déjeuner ! Terrasse pour profiter du paysage. Je recommande cet endroit qui en plus n'est pas chère comparé à certains hôtels qui n'ont aucun charme. Very good ! Tout était parfait.

A bit out of the way, which can be both good and bad, but not too difficult to find. Gave a great dinner recommendation for the Coyote Cafe, and quickly texted us that we left a charger cord behind.

Able to refreeze my cooler ice which was a bonus. Super nice staff, very clean, nice finishes in room. Out in the woods saw raccoon on the road on the way in would definitely recommend
David (10/5): We had the whole downstairs to ourselves, and we and our 4-year-old grandson enjoyed it very much! - The breakfast was beyond expectations. The area we stayed in was spacious, quiet, nice, and comfortable. Carolyn was especially helpful and nice and friendly. The toilet in the small bathroom didn't flush after the first time, but we had two bathrooms so that wasn't a problem.

Sarah (10/5): - For some reason when I booked this place, I was not able to tell how far out of town it was. It was just a little bit of a surprise, and I was also surprised that the loft meant we were sharing with another couple who was downstairs so as long as that is all made clear, you know what you’re getting. And it was an absolutely wonderful stay. There is a restaurant fairly close by that is off the charts and the family feel of the place is wonderful. If you want to do your own cooking, there is a fantastic kitchen and everything was really spacious and the people are just perfect. If I’m ever in the area again, I would definitely return

Clara (10/5): Pagosa Getaway - A friend and I just wanted a getaway and we discovered this gem of a place. The ladies are extremely friendly and welcoming. The place is very clean and nestled away from the main city of Pagosa. But it’s just a short drive into town. Breakfast was amazing.
