Guest Reviews
- Arla (10/5): - Lovely and gracious host, easy parking, yummy breakfast. A great B and B experience.
- Carly (10/5): - Breakfast was delicious. Hosts were extremely welcoming and the atmosphere was very cozy. A lovely place to stay.
- Craig (10/5): - We only had a short one night stay but the owner met us right on time, gave us an informative tour about the work they did to save and restore the building. Glad we stayed here instead of a hotel. Nice cat greeted us on arrival too.
- Alexa (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay and would come back in a heartbeat. Breakfast was a highlight with homemade and delicious food each morning. Check in and check out was efficient and easy. Parking on site was extremely convenient. Hosts were friendly and personable; it was a pleasure to stay with them!
- Jake (10/5): Fantastic place to stay! - Our visit to Manderley was a place to stay, so we didn't have to drive back home late after the Brewer game. Little did we know how much we'd fall in love with this place. The ease of getting to the game was the smallest of the great things we experienced. It was SUPER easy to get to the game, but the B&B experience was FANTASTIC. We loved the decor, we love the history of the place, and we will absolutely come back and stay here again.
- Thomas (10/5): - Difficult of getting out of parking lot very hard to see cars coming down street very fast
- Parsy (8/5): - Beautiful bed and breakfast with lots of gorgeous stained glass and antiques. Breakfasts were delicious and the special touch was eating with candles on the table and soft music. The host was very accommodating.
- Michael (10/5): - A lovely place to stay in Milwaukee! The house is beautiful, the service is wonderful, breakfast is delicious, and there’s even a sweet little orange cat named Pumpkin who comes to say hi to you every time you’re outside.
- Natalie (10/5): Quiet and luxurious - We were attending a concert at the Rave and this was the perfect place to stay for the duration. It's right in walking distance of the venue and it's great to have a quiet, comfy place to crash at the end of the night. The breakfast in the morning was delicious, and Pumpkin the cat was a delight!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Step back in time in total luxury. This is a special gem of a home.
- Francy (8/5): - This is a lovely old property with stained glass made by the owner. Access to public areas of the house is encouraged. There was a dorm style refrigerator shared by all guests and stocked with a few cans of soda. The biggest surprise was that there were no nice toiletries, just a pump bottle of foaming hand soap at the sink and no other soap or shampoo for the shower. The host is very friendly and helpful.
- Dawn (8/5): - Lovely home filled with antiques that the owner has collected. Nice bed and quiet room. Breakfast was a delicious stuffed French toast! 5 minutes from the ballpark. Very nice host.
- Steven (10/5): - Fantastic.
- Mark (10/5): - A grand old mansion, lovingly and creatively restored. Breakfast was wonderful - waffles with homemade berry-citrus topping, zucchini bread. We enjoyed meeting other travelers here, too.
During the daytime, noise from the street (neighbors' loud music) was noticeable, but it got quiet at night.
- Karl (8/5): Overall ok - Great breakfast. Very nice owners. Bed was very hard...i side was nice but outside needs work.
- Catherine (10/5): Going back in time. - We had a good night and a very nice breakfast.
This is a beautifully renovated stately house and the history of the original owners is so very interesting!
- Larry (6/5): - Dusting would be appropriate…
- Gina (10/5): - It was really nice chatting with the owners. We love antiques and the Victorian mansion is very impressive, a delight to stay in. Breakfast was delicious. We had a wonderful time!
- Tena (10/5): - Wonderful stay!
- Alexandra (10/5): Amazing - It was so amazing that we’re coming back next year and staying there again and renting the whole place
And the breakfast was awesome
- John (10/5): - Enjoyed the open heart and hands of the proprietor and his wife. Very accommodating regarding late check in. Great breakfast and joyful conversations. Highly recommended!
- Brian (8/5): - It was a nice place. The owner's are really kind and keep up with the old house pretty well.
- Michael (2/5): - The immediate area was run down and drug infested with no parking for blocks and folks doing drugs right there on the street. One window of the residence was broken. My wife refused to get out of the car and I don't blame her.
- Joe (10/5): - Amazing host. Food was delicious. Cool yard to chill in. Wish I picked the room with bigger bed!
- gillian (10/5): - We had a wonderful 4 night stay here. The house is gorgeous, tbe owners/hosts were welcoming, thoughtful, informative, and so very kind. We are planning to stay again next year already!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hidden Treasure - The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful and the breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend staying here!
- Bailey (10/5): - Breakfast was excellent. The owners are very friendly and great to chat with. The property is surrounded by apartment complexs and I was skeptical upon arrival about the noise level but every night around 10 it was quiet and peaceful. Great distance to downtown! The home was beautiful! I would come back!
- Steve (6/5): - The B&B is in what was once a mansion. There is elegance, especially in the common areas, but there was a lot of room for improvement in our room. There was no way to lock our room door from the outside, so our things were not secure when we were not in the room. Lighting in the room was inadequate for reading. The doors to the TV cabinet did not fold back out of the way, so you had to be seated just right to see the whole picture. There was a lack of accessible outlets. The sink in the bathroom drained very slowly. Of three heat registers in the room, the one that released the most heat had a broken damper control. None of the windows in our room opened. The breakfast seemed chintzy- sliced fruit, two sausage links, white bread french toast- no whole wheat option- with home made caramel syrup- why not real maple syrup? It was underwhelming.
- Ali (10/5): - It a great place. The hosts are super friendly and very helpful
- Timothy (10/5): Loved it - Gorgeous Victorian, very friendly and accommodating host. Definitely, stay again next time we are in the area.
- Tylania (10/5): - The owners were wonderful, so welcoming and not overbearing. The house was beautiful! It was so fun exploring, and the breakfast was delicious! Loved that they have a cat, Pumpkin, that greets you upon arrival. I have not one complaint about our experience! Will definitely be staying there again!
- Jeff (10/5): Nice Place to Stay - It was a very nice place to stay in Milwaukee close to downtown. Hosts were very friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was excellent. It a really unique and cool house that we were fortunate to stay at for the night.
- Lisa (10/5): - Absolutely lovely on all levels. Walking back in time
- Holly (10/5): - The property is a beautiful historic place full of antique items. Owners knowledgeable about the history of property.
- Janet (10/5): Couples night away - Amazing hosts and location!
- Isabel (10/5): - The hosts were wonderful and our stay was such a fun treat! Our visit started out with an informative tour of the beautifully restored house. Staying here felt like stepping back into time- a must-do for history lovers in Milwaukee! Our breakfast in the morning was wonderful! 10/10
- John (10/5): Best B and B we have stayed at - Amazing hosts!!! This B and B is one the best we have ever been at. If you are MKE you need to stay here.
- Martha Dodds (10/5): - Very friendly hosts! Excellent breakfast. Comfy bed.
- Heather De (10/5): - I absolutely loved staying here, the house was beautiful, the owners were kind and welcoming and the breakfast was amazing.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Great B&B. Welcoming hosts. Comfortable bed. Interesting house. Not the greatest neighborhoods in Milwaukee, but not "scary" or "dangerous" as some other guests have written in their comments.I felt perfectly safe walking around and I walked around a lot.
- Cynthia (10/5): - The breakfast was delicious. Our room was comfortable and quiet.Owner was very personable and helped us with anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
- Harold (10/5): - I was hoping to be able to explore the area around the Manderly a bit, but did not get the chance. The silver lining is that this gives me an excuse to go back. The home was beautiful, the history behind it fascinating, the hosts lovely and good conversationalists and the breakfast delicious. What more could you ask for!
- Deborah (10/5): - Need to clean behind dresser in Francesca’s room Dust candy wrapper 20 oz pop top cap were all behind dresser Maybe make it a point to pull out furniture and clean behind one in awhile. Breakfast was great as were our hosts.
- Sally (10/5): - This is an amazing place to stay! The house is gorgeous and the owners are onsite and are fabulous cooks! Everything is period correct historically and very impressive. Fabulous hosts and an awesome place to stay!
- Angela (10/5): - Wonderful bed and breakfast with wonderful owners who saved this old house from getting torn down by the city. I would definitely stay here again. Wonderful homemade breakfast too!
- Amanda (10/5): - We stayed overnight for a concert and had the best service. Andrew was so nice and accommodating, especially for breakfast in the morning. The place is wonderful and we will be coming back next time we're in town.
- Karen (10/5): - House was loaded with beautiful antiques and decorated like you were stepping back in time. Host was very friendly and breakfast was delicious!
- Andrew (10/5): - Price to value is good.
- BOB (10/5): - awesome owners and very accommodating
- james (10/5): Excellent Stay - Great location, unique experience with very friendly professional hosts, thanks.
- Jessica (10/5): - This mansion is well curated. The owner gave us a tour and some history about the place. It was quiet and convenient. Very short drive to downtown and the ballpark.
- Sarah (10/5): - B&B was cozy and cute. Sophie's Room was comfortable for 2 adults. They offered free refreshments to all guests, were acommodating, and the owner was very friendly. The neighborhood made me a bit nervous, but I never felt unsafe on the property. Overall, it was a great experience. I would absolutely stay there again.
- Antonette (10/5): - Highly recommend!
- Cheryl (10/5): Wonderful stay at Mandalay! - Our overnight stay was wonderful. Marie and Andrew are gracious hosts and have thought of every need a visitor would want. Amazing breakfast! Our hosts have great knowledge of historical homes, especially their home, Mandelay.
- Beata (10/5): - The owners were very accommodating and made great breakfast in the morning.
- Mary (2/5): Beware of the neighborhood! Not good! - I booked the hotel based on the reasonable price and proximity to Milwaukee summerfest... But the hotel is in the middle of the most terrible slum area. I decided not to even get out of the car for fear of my life. I didn't stay or even go into the hotel. I was literally scared to walk up to the building. It looked nice in the pictures but the outside was so old and decrepit. It was a really really bad neighborhood.
- Beth (10/5): Spectacular place to stay - Owners are wonderful! Entire home is refurbished and feels like home! Outside firepit and lawn chairs for evening conversations.
- Marwan (10/5): What a gem! - My wifi and I just had an amazing experience staying at this place. We visited Milwaukee for a concert at the eagles club and decided to stay at the Manderly, here are everything that worked for us, the place was really close to the venue, parking is really easy, the owners are really friendly and have will share a lot of interesting stories with you, breakfast is tailored to your wanting, THEY HAVE THE FRIENDLIEST CATS, the rooms are clean and the place is just fun to be in.
We arrived at 4PM and were promptly given a tour of the place, we were then asked if we have any breakfast breakfast, we were shown where everything is, and then shown all the things we can do in the house. We left to the venue at 4:30, and arrived in less than 2 minutes, we got back at 12 and went straight to bed after a quick shower (the hot water will need a minute, give it some time). We woke up at 7:30 and sat outside for a few while we waited for breakfast. Breakfast was ready for us at 8, and it was such an fun experience just sitting in their dining area. The owner sat with us and told us all about the place, and what he does for the community. We then left at 9 and have been missing the place since.
If you are visiting Milwaukee this is the place to stay in, especially is you are vising the eagles club.
- james (10/5): - loved my stay at manderley, beautiful house , comfortable bed and the breakfast every morning was outstanding, will definitely stay again if in Milwaukee..
- Christopher (10/5): - It was my first time at a bed and breakfast and this one was the best one for me to start at. The host and hostess were amazing. The house itself was gorgeous and so incredibly historic and interesting. Our room was clean and organized. The breakfast was amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. We will definitely come back.
- Brooke (10/5): Cute little get away house - The owner was super friendly. I loved the chicken coop and outdoors cats. It has a cute little nature-esque feel to it and its hidden right in the middle of Milwaukee. The food was great and it felt right like being at home. I definitely recommend.
- Catherine (10/5): - The Manderly Bed and Breakfast is truly a hidden gem! I had such a wonderful experience throughout my stay. The historic property is fully restored and filled with mesmerizing art and features fine craftmanship in every corner, not to mention it is fully furnished with Victorian pieces. If you are a history buff looking for a time traveling experience, in Milwaukee, this is the place for you. The hosts are exceptionally kind and attentive, and yet respectful of guest's privacy. They were happy to accommodate my dietary preferences and provided phenomenal breakfast options each morning. I will certainly be back to share this experience with friends and family!
- Michael (10/5): - Everything was great
- Christine (10/5): - Beautiful room and friendly host.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Owners were very nice and hospitable. We plan to return soon :)
- Barbara Fern (10/5): - The property was just as advertised! Wonderful hosts and other guest just as enjoyable. Homemade breakfast was great! Went for a concert at Fiserv Center easy LYFT pickup and drop off.
- Kim (10/5): - Owner/Staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was superb. Beautiful Victorian home and property. Coffee was provided before the meal. Room was very nice and comfortable. Neighborhood around looked like it needed improvement. Also, the room we stayed in did not have a key, so you could not secure valuables. Room needed a double lock during sleeping.
- William (8/5): - Marie was perfect ......overall good expierience..
- Mollie (10/5): - What a lovely, beautiful space! The room was gorgeous, as was the whole house. The breakfast Andrew and Marie made was delicious, and they were wonderful hosts.
- Jon (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here! The house is so beautiful and the hosts were so kind and inviting. It was very close to our event the evening we stayed.
- Larry (10/5): Elegant - Beautiful old mansion, lovingly cared for.
- Kenneth (10/5): great second stay - nice Victorian home with friendly owner...excellent breakfasts
- Kimberly (10/5): - Highly recommend this property. Beautiful B&B with very friendly owners. Loved the charm and history!
- Thomas (4/5): - Our Uber driver reinforced our observation the area where the property is located was unsafe. He advised we should not walk anywhere in the surrounding neighborhood. I was forced to park my vehicle in a dark, insecure area where I was concerned about possible vandalism. I admit this was only my second B&B experience. However the one previous was far different, more upscale, brightly lit, and with at least some shopping nearby. And I felt safe and secure.
- Diane (10/5): - Lovely experience!
- Suzy (10/5): - Beautiful home with exceptional hosts. Will definitely be back!
- Debby (10/5): - The room we stayed in had a queen size bed and a jacuzzi. The furnishings were beautiful antiques, and very clean. Loved all the stained glass work. The breakfast was really good, and the owner very friendly. Would recommend and stay again.
- Jean (10/5): Delightful experience - The house/bed & breakfast is furnished so beautifully. I loved the intricate wood furniture & the stained glass was exceptional. Truly, I have not ever stayed any place so exquisite before. The breakfast included eggs from the chickens on premises and zucchini from the garden. It could not have been more different from the pre-packaged, mass produced, not-so-delicious breakfasts included at mainstream hotels with hundreds of rooms (where I typically stay). Manderley was really special. I'd come back.
- Mike (10/5): - Place was beautiful and breakfast delicious. Great couple that owns the B&B. Well worth the money. Cheaper than hotels and free breakfast. Will go back again when in Milwaukee.
- DAVID (10/5): - Great Character
- Jolyn (10/5): Hidden gem - House was beautiful and owners were great. Loved it
- Ronald (10/5): - We stayed for 3 nights. Walking distance to our music festival. Great experience. Super nice hosts, served awesome breakfast every morning. Amazing classic house with rich history. Very well kept. Owners/hosts really take pride in sharing their home with guests.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful B&B. Proprietors very welcoming and friendly.
- Douglas (10/5): Wonderful stay - Was a wonder host couple with a truely historic home
- Joseph (10/5): Lovely Victorian home - The Manderly is a beautiful bed and breakfast run by friendly lovely people. It is chock full of gorgeous antiques and surrounded by beautiful stained glass windows made by the owner. We wandered around during the day and came back each night and had privacy coming and going. Breakfast each morning was delicious with a protein, homemade zucchini or banana bread, fresh fruit, coffee and good conversation. Our room was smaller than a hotel room but very cute and we didn’t hang around much anyway. Neighborhood is iffy but we weren’t walking around there, we went into the city and it is pretty close. We really did enjoy our stay at their beautiful home.
- Mark (10/5): great place great people - very nostolgic mansion made.jnto a.bed and breakfast. attention to every small detail was amazing. super nice hosts and reasonably priced! I would highly recommend as would my wife. Homemade bread with breakfast full serve french toast and great conversation make this a great place to go. My favorite room was the study.chock full of books and of course a great chrss set!
- April (10/5): - The location was great for our stay . House was beautiful and rooms were comfortable.
- francis (10/5): - It was absolutely beautiful. The breakfast was awesome
- John (10/5): - Andrew was a great host. The house was amazing. If you are a person the stays in the nice hotels don’t come here. You would not understand. The stain glass is ALL Andrew’s work. Nice job! Would stay here again.
- Caitlyn (10/5): - The owners of this bed-and-breakfast are very welcoming and kind. The room was beautiful!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place - This is a very cool place. We had a great stay and the owners are very friendly. The only issue we experienced was the rooms are on an upper floor, so it was very warm and none of the windows open. Other than that everything was great!
- Jim (10/5): - The owners were wonderful. Provided a tour upon arrival and asked when we would like to have breakfast.
The home was like visiting a museum, so many things to explore! Very comfortable room and bed.
Breakfast was outstanding!
- Aaron (2/5): - The property is outdated and falsely advertised. The area is full of crime and the room was spooky and dusty
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place to stay with great breakfast! - Breakfasts were great! the host and hostess were as well.
Beautiful interior. We would recommend it to others. Close to the casino. Easy to get around from this as a starting point.
- Mrs Anita (8/5): - The property was very unique and lovely. Andrew was an excellent hoste and the food was freshly cooked and enjoyable.
- Ryan (10/5): - Beautiful property with wonderful hosts who accommodated every need.
- Barry (6/5): - Very nice old house but the neighborhood was a bit scary and I was told my my cousin who works nearby not to walk around there.
- Tanja (10/5): - My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. The couple who own the B&B were very helpful when asked about things to do in Milwaukee.
