• Jannie (4/5): Skuffet - Vi havde desværre en meget skuffende oplevelse på Manta Dive Hotel Gili Air. Morgenmaden var ringe og kedelig, med meget lidt udvalg. Servicen var beskidt, og hytterne samt omgivelserne fremstod slidte og dårligt vedligeholdt. Toilettet havde en dårlig skyllefunktion, og poolen var beskidt. Håndklæderne lugtede surt, og lagnerne fremstod gullige. Sengen (briksen) var enorm hård og ubehagelig at sove i. Personalet virkede ikke imødekommende – ingen smil, og da vi bad rengøringsdamen om ekstra poolhåndklæder, vendte hun øjne af os. Alt i alt et ophold vi ikke kan anbefale, og som på ingen måde levede op til forventningerne. Hotels.com blev kontaktet men kunne ikke hjælpe hvilke vi virkelig også blev skuffet over
• Annika (10/5): - Perfect location right by the beach, snorkelling area with turtles is basically on your doorstep. The bungalow was nice and cozy, the open bathroom however invited some animals into our apartment. Staff was very nice and helped us to organise diving and snorkeling tours.

• slashleo (10/5): 2 days in Gili Air - Rob hosted us for 2 days. I immediatly tell you I give to this place 10/100. Clean and big rooms, super good breakfast inclueed, chance to organize diving sessions to ser manta rays and super fancy buildings. The last day our boat risked not to leave and Rob immediatly told us e had a cuple of free rooms to book at the very last minute (luckly in the end we managed to leave the island in time). Thank you very much, hope to see you one day again 😁🇮🇹

You were always greeted with a huge smile. They answered our questions about Gili Air and were very helpful with anything you needed. Close walk from port. Would definitely stay here again.

• Philippa (10/5): - I had a great week at Manta. The rooms are basic but all you need for a beachside scuba escape. The staff make the place. So friendly and helpful. For me the area that could be improved would be the pool areas. Both that I saw seem a bit tired / dirty and not inviting. I know at the time they were working on the area around the main pool but this means that the second pool should be kept really well so guests feel like using it. Thank you team Manta for being so friendly and welcoming.

Das Personal war super nett, immer hilfsbereit und hat sich um all unsere Wünsche gekümmert. Die Lage direkt am Meer ist perfekt, und die Tauchbasis ist top organisiert. Absolut empfehlenswert

The property was mostly clean, but being that the bathroom was outside - bugs were prevalent and it seemed easy for them to get in the room. I wished that the hotel offered bicycles to get around. The room was pretty bare minimum, a bed and some shelves with a bathroom.
• Stine Klarskov (8/5): Fantastisk dive resort - Vi havde et rigtig fint ophold på Manta Dive. Personalet er utrolig gæstfrie og hjælpsomme og deres dykkerinstruktører/guider er super professionelle. En stor anbefaling af dette dykker center. Værelserne fungerer upåklagelig og det er super praktisk at bo samme sted som man dykker. Hvis man ikke dykker ville vi nok vælge at bo et andet sted.
• Jens (10/5): Herligt sted med god service - Vi havde booket en uges ophold i en lille hytte. Fin udsigt, fantastisk service, god mad, dejlig atmosfære. Vi dykkede næsten hver dag. Vores guider var meget professionelle, og det var meget sikkert. Der var gode spisesteder lige ved siden af, og let til andre serviceydelser. Hestevognstrafikken er desværre blevet alt for dyr. Da der ikke er motorkøretøjer på øen, er man nødt til at benytte hestevognene. Vi har været der to gange tidligere og prisen er nu næsten 3-doblet på tre år.

• Vacationer234193 (10/5): Divers Dream - Where to start? We were warmly greated when we arrived and shown to our amazing room. We stayed in a deluxe bungalow with an outside shower looking up to the sky! The room was beautiful and cool with everything we needed and so comfortable. The pools are stunning with beautiful flowers and trees everywhere. Always a sunbed to use as most people are out diving or exploring the beautiful island. Diving!!! Wow! I was really scared about this but the staff were fantastic they gave me so much confidence and excitement that from being not sure about even breathing underwater I managed to complete my open water course and even do a deep dive!!! Seeing the most amazing things being in a natural fish tank seeing turtles swimming around me Beautiful fish and the odd very small and actually cute shark! I will definitely be doing my advanced next time. Staff!!! Like my family. They were all so warm and friendly we had the best time with them laughing and learning I will never forget each and everyone of them. I've never been to such a friendly resort and we will be returning alot! Starting next year. We've got hooked on diving and fell in love with the island! So it's not Goodbye Manta family! It's see you all soon x

When we first arrived, the staff were so welcoming and hospitable giving us recommendations and helping us feel comfortable. We loved the hut we got to stay in. It was very clean and cool. The outside bathroom was so spacious, clean and private. Walkable to some great sunset spots and great restaurants. We were able to be dropped off by our private transfer right at Manta Dive’s beach! We loved the breakfast as well as the restaurant attached to Manta Dive. Overall, an amazing stay. There are amazing sunrise views from this hotel! So pretty and peaceful. We also loved seeing the hotel staff feeding and taking care of a couple of kitties that hang out around the hotel! We loved this place and could not get over how beautiful Gili Air and the views are!!
• Laurelisa (10/5): A must if you plan to dive on Gili Air - We stayed here with our 3 daughters to complete their open water certification. The professional organization of this crew is so amazing!! All dives where carefully planned so our dives would align with those of the girls. Great respect for the whole crew taking care of the divers with great enthusiasm with lots of laughter. I’m missing them already. We will return for sure! Thumbs up! Also the resort itself had all comfort we needed. The rooms are very clean and were cleaned every day. There is great laundry service next door which is very convenient. The resort also comprises a Mexican restaurant with gemerkt food and cocktails.
• Holger (10/5): Wunderschöne Unterkunft in bester Lage - Wir haben uns im Manta Dive Resort sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Zimmer sind wunderschön gestaltet, sauber und mit sehr bequemen Betten und hochwertigen Bettwaren. Das Frühstück im dazugehörigen Restaurant war extrem lecker, auch Mittag und Abendessen. Strand zum Baden ist keine 10 Meter zu laufen. Fahrradverleih direkt vor der Tür, der Hafen ist zu Fuss in ca. 8 Minuten erreichbar. Wir können das Manta Dive uneingeschränkt empfehlen.
• Alessandra (8/5): - Ottima struttura, a 10 minuti a piedi dal porto, sul “lungomare”. Nel punto di mare esattamente davanti alla struttura non si fa comodamente il bagno perché non c’è la spiaggia ma un muretto da cui eventualmente buttarsi in mare, spiagge attrezzate sono a meno di un minuto a piedi da lì. Unico aspetto negativo: la colazione un po’ limitata, 4 scelte di piatto unico, però la loro smoothie bowling è buonissima.
• Bryan (8/5): - Vrij nette accomodatie en het ontbijt is goed. Kamer is erg schoon. Wel erg weinig ligbedjes bij het zwembad. Daarnaast is het wel iet wat gehorig, zo is het ochtendgebed van de moskee goed te horen om half 5/5 in de ochtend.

• Emmanuel (8/5): Joli mais le sentiment de se faire avoir. - Très joli site. En arrivant nous avons été surpris car les logements ne correspondaient pas du tout à ce que nous avions réservé. Nous étions dans des bungalows assez âgés. J’ai porté réclamation auprès du gérant qui a botté en touche en prétextant que c’était de la responsabilité du site hôtels.com. On a pas eu gain de cause. Le 3ème lit était au sol et en quittant la chambre il y avait une vieille paire de Nike usagers sous notre lit, on se demande si la chambre a été préparée avant notre arrivée. Une fuite au niveau du lavabo signalée n’a jamais été réparée, dommage.
• Relax10551154029 (10/5): Incredible experience - Where to start… we had such an incredible 5 days with Manta. We arrived to a warm welcome and stayed in one of the traditional bungalows. The accommodation had everything we needed - comfortable bed, mini fridge, air conditioning and outdoor bathroom. For the price we paid to stay it was exceptionally good value. We had breakfast each morning in the restaurant and it was great - service was brilliant and there was enough variety that I had something different each morning. We had lunch a couple of times in the restaurant and this too was excellent. Rob the manager was really helpful and knowledgeable. He clearly runs a tight ship! Most importantly though, the diving was fantastic - the best we have ever done. We were both a little nervous as we are not super experienced but our Dive Master, Mul, was brilliant with us. He took his time to explain everything and the care and attention we had from him (& the rest of the crew) was second to none. We both felt totally looked after and safe from beginning to end and for both of us our confidence really improved. The reefs are spectacular - we saw giant turtles, reef sharks, octopus, stingray and an abundance of fish and beautiful coral. Overall a fantastic experience made perfect by all the staff we encountered, we felt really at home and we hope we can come back again one day.

• M9141CCsarahd (10/5): Great stay and dive on Gili A - We had a short but great stay at Manta Dive Resort. Room was comfortable, good working air con and clean. Real fast was included and delicious with several options to choose from which is nice for multi day stay. We did one day of diving and the team was wonderful, rental equipment worked well, dive guides and boat staff were wonderful. The manager Rob was very helpful as well. Highly recommend as a place to base out of in the Gilis to explore and do some diving!

• Danielle (8/5): - Manta dive was a good resort to stay at for diving - the staff were friendly and obviously passionate about their work and the area they work in. They knew their dive sites well and the guided dives were well-organized, friendly, and safe. The rooms were a little dated, and the bed linens could be renewed -rips and such made them feel a little old. The resort is 3-star, but I was surprised that there weren't bedside tables, the mini fridge was empty and the rooms were basic and bare. Likewise the pool was pretty but missing tiles and not very clean most of our stay. The food was very tasty in the restaurant, (although please provide earlier times for coffee in the morning if possible for us early risers) Again though, if you are there to dive, all of these things were irrelevant to a great diving holiday.
• davidrA1827KI (10/5): Incredible team of people. - Everyone is super friendly, the rooms are basic, but very clean and tidy, however your not going to spend too much time in the room anyway. The diving is excellent. My partner and i took the beginners dive. Our instructor was Zac, he's a top bloke and helped my pattern immensely as she was really struggling at first. She is now completely hooked on diving and we are already looking at our next trip and will be back to dive with the excellent team at Gili Air Manta dive. Thank you all so much!
• beakymb2015 (10/5): Great accomodation and fantastic dive centre - We stayed for 10 nights and went diving with them for 3 weeks. Chose before we arrived to try a second accomodation with a private pool but could have happily stayed here for the full 3 weeks. We stayed in a deluxe bungalow, room is a nice size, bed is comfy pillows are great. Aircon works well, bathroom is beautiful with roof over most but shower area open. There are 2 small dipping pools with 10 loungers between them, which never seemed to be crowded. Good location for the main street from the port which has great restaurants and a bit of shopping on offer. Far enough away from the Mosque for the morning prayers not to be intrusive. Rob and the crew at the dive centre are amazing. Took the time to make sure we had everything we needed, made sure we got to go to all the dive sights over the course of our stay. Had advice for places to eat etc. Manta Dive offer a 2 tank boat in the morning and a single dive boat in the afternoon. On the boat they have pure oxygen, first aid, water, spare equipment and snacks, tea coffee for between dives. Our guide, Opik was so experienced he knew all the dive sights really well and would always make sure we went in away from other groups so we didn’t need to worry about being surrounded by other divers. They also do dive courses here and there is a third pool at the back of the complex especially for the courses. Recommend for both accommodation and diving.
• Lindunia (10/5): One of those ‘perfect places’ in the world… - It’s no good exaggeration to say this is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed anywhere in the world, especially at this price point. The huts are so comfortable and clean, outdoor bathrooms likewise. Mini-fridge, good air con, huge bed. The pool area is small but lovely. The Dive Centre here is the heart of everything so there are always people around to give you advice etc. The staff are wonderful. Breakfasts gorgeous and fresh. The snorkelling area outside hotel is abundant; you’ll almost definitely be able to swim with turtles 💜 We so desperately don’t want to leave…
• mermaidteacher (10/5): Superlative experience yet again! - This was our second visit to Manta Dive at Gili Air, and we are already booked to go again in six months' time. We stayed at their garden bungalow accommodation and dived every day with them. We're both dive instructors with a lot of diving experience, but are also both past retirement age and appreciated the extra care the boat staff and our dive guide Mul took with us. The air-conditioned accommodation is excellent, with bottles of drinking water in the room, to supplement the drinking water that is freely available in the outdoor reception area. The bed is comfortable, though for our liking the pillows are a little too thick and huge. There is a fridge and a safe and a semi-outdoors bathroom, with plentiful hot water and a laundry service is available. Each bungalow has a private outdoor verandah with a drying rack and seating. Bring mosquito spray for the evenings, as there is a plug-in insect repellant, but they are persistent! For early risers, the 6.30am sunrises over Lombok island are spectacular. We observed many try dives and Open Water and Advanced dive courses being taught by the patient, knowledgeable and relaxed but safety-conscious Manta Dive instructors. Rafi, Ayu and Mariana are only mentioned by name because we did not get the names of a couple of others, who were also exhibiting excellent practice. We don't think we have ever seen such careful attention paid to beginner divers in our 25 years+ diving. Nothing was too much trouble, and we are sure this is why divers of all experience come back time and again to Manta Dive. Last time we visited, we dived with an excellent guide named Opik. Unfortunately he was off sick this time, but our young guide Mul was an equally perceptive, attentive and welcome replacement. He worked for two weeks to ensure that every dive was an unforgettable experience. We saw white-tip sharks, turtles, blubberlip snappers, but even more amazing, considering one of us has fairly poor eyesight, were the seahorses, weedy scorpion fish, leaf fish and nudibranchs that he took infinite care and time to show us. Divers are placed in an experience-appropriate small group with a guide/instructor. Breakfast is included in the accommodation price, with muesli, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee, or cooked alternatives. A simple but varied lunch is also available after the two dives in the morning. We are pushed to think of any negatives, except maybe, as everywhere on Gili Air, you could find a lot of smokers in the outdoor areas of the dive centre - you might want to position yourselves upwind!
• ValdesElpidio (10/5): Heaven for divers - There is no better place for diving in Indonesia in my opinion. I was three times in Raja Ampat and it is perhaps a little better diving, but getting there is a problem, whereas Gilli Air is within a boat-ride from a major international airport! And once your get there you find a friendly, competent and widely popular Rob who runs a tight boat and looks after every little detail, be it connecting you to fruit seller or making sure that you meet the frogfish he had in mind! My bathroom was an absolute dream, open air, clean, always hot water... Can't wait to get back
• Charles A (8/5): - Manta is an excellent dive resort. Rooms are comfortable, beds are cozy, staff is very helpful. There are delicious restaurants nearby - Sharkbite and Chillout were favs. There has been some erosion along this side of the beach. Walkout snorkeling is no longer a thing while the reef rebuilds. Snorkeling day and half day trips are available to great spots around the Gili Islands.

• Alice (10/5): - Room was clean, the grounds are well kept, staff was great and helpful! Enjoyed meeting guests. Laundry, tours, bike rentals are next door. Enjoyed a quite sunrise every morning from the Waterfront restaurant, before the staff came to work. Will come back next year!
• Line (8/5): Average hotel - Overall it was a nice experience, but we had higher expectations due to the good reviews. The room didn't have a mosquito net and it smelled weird. It might be due to the roof material, but it wasn't pleasent. Furthermore we got the experience that guests who were staying there for a diving course were treated a little better than regular guests. Last I need to mention - the hotel doesn't have a sand beach where you can lay. You need to go somewhere else on the island to get this. We were expecting this from the photos and got disappointed.

Häämatkamme oli huomioitu kauniilla sänkykoristeluilla ja deluxe bungalow oli erittäin siisti ja viihtyisä, erityisesti osittain avoin kylpyhuone oli tosi viehättävä. Aamiainen oli tosi maukas ja se valmistettiin tilauksen mukaan. Allas alueet ok.

It’s also a diving center which is really cool if you are staying for three days because gives you time to get the diver certificate. The bungalows are very nice and clean. It’s very very very familiar. Really a very choice on the island.

• Jay (2/5): - I was excited to stay here, but I’m going to say this mostly because I got so many emails from so many different people it appeared I may have been difficult in arranging payment. But you should be ashamed of the diving experience you gave a friend and I. No smb for our guide? Had to use mine? Overpriced, unfriendly staff aside from the one girl at the desk. The other woman also had no explanation for an extra 100,000 rp charge for each customer which apparently is a “park fee” and rudely had a dive instructor tell us “oh it’s new we forget” Im knowing many instructors around the gilis no one knew anything about this charge. In my opinion your diving operation is a joke and you should be ashamed about not only safety but you attitude for such a hyped up dive shop. Stay in a beautiful room for $60 USD dive elsewhere. All dive staff were absolutely MISERABLE.
• Joanna Clare (10/5): Great Place - This was the perfect place to stay on Gili Air, beautifully located, great staff, comfortable accommodation and everything we needed.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, wonderful clean comfortable air-conditioned rooms, friendly staff. Love the fact they are so eco-friendly refill your water bottle for free etc- only small complaints would be the poor wifi in the rooms - I work as I travel so can't just switch off completely -but we knew that was going to be bad beforehand so made sure we had mobile data and that was fine. The other thing was it would be nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room - I guess the electricity supply might not like it though so I understand ...it made me drink more water anyway which is a good thing :)

• Verified traveler (8/5): Good resort with a few bad points - Lovely resort with two really nice swimming pools. The resort was right next to a beach. We stayed there in a low season, so it’s quiet and very peaceful. The room we stayed was a traditional one (sasak) which was beautiful! Bed was very comfy. Loved the open-aired bathroom and shower, but mosquitoes were everywhere! A small fan to keep the air moving to deter mosquitoes might be a great idea in there. WiFi at the resort was not working (apparently due to storm a week ago, but there was WiFi everywhere else on the island). It was not good at all as we planned to do a bit of work when it’s raining or too hot to go out. We had to go to use WiFi in other restaurants/cafes which was not very convenient. But to sum it up, it was a really nice place to stay and we would stay here again.

We also dived with Manta and the trips were well organised. Our only comments would be that the bungalows would benefit from a mosquito net around the bed and better lighting indoors.

We walked to the other side of the island for sunsets, but sunrise is perfect from this side of the island. Diving was very well organized. Sempre que precisava de alguma coisa da recepção era sempre uma pessoa diferente que te atendia que geralmente estava sentado conversando ou bebendo em frente ao hotel, confuso. O ar condicionado não estava funcionando quando chegamos, arrumaram mas no segundo dia já parou de novo.
• Victor (4/5): Cool concept - terrible mattress - I really liked the concept and design of the hotel. It hs a really cool vibe and the people are also very international and interesting. However the super uncomfortable matress ruined the whole experience. Both my girfriend and I felt super tired and “beaten up” the first morning.

• Marine (10/5): Thumbs Up :) - I love the location of Manta Dive, a short walk from the main jetty, if carrying big luggages, just need to engage the horse cart’s service, alternatively if you opt to go Gili Air via Speedboat, askcthe boatman to drop you right infront of the Resort. Check-In : Was easy and give a warm welcome by the Dive Staff. Everyone is friendly. Room : Decent and Clean Room, huge bathroom. Will be better if they can provide hair dryer and water kettle or hotpot in the room. For divers bringing their own gears, unfortunately there’s no open area for you to dry your gears before leaving Gili Air. Breakfast: Loved their Lombok coffee. Breakfast varieties limited, had the same food for 4 days. Will be good if they have more varieties or different menu every other day. Dive Experience: Discount for divers who stay with them. Interesting dive sites. Expect to see white and black tip and plenty of huge turtles.
• Steve (8/5): Waterfont property with resident Dive school. - Basic and comfortable accommodation for those wanting a relaxed stay. The rooms were clean and had all we needed. For those who want to scuba dive, the resident Manta Dive school was reasonably priced and boats pull up to to shoreline for easy access. Dive pool at rear for beginners. The restaurant has a good breakfast in the morning and the food is good. There are a couple of small pools for catching the sun and taking a quick dip. Staff very friendly, responsive and helpful.

• Bjoern-Andre (8/5): Beautiful island with a modern and clean resort - Great resort set on a beautiful island. The breakfast was excellent and the bungalow was very clean and nicely set-up. The AC worked well and relatively quiet to sleep. To improve this lovely place even further replace the mattress next time with a king (instead of two singles leaving an uncomfortable middle part) and install a moscato net.

• meaghan (10/5): Great hotel close to beach - We arrived at Gili Air not knowing what to expect. The hotel was a 10 minute walk from the dock, we just had backpacks so it was easily walkable for us (if you have luggage you may want to hop in a horse cart. The path all around the island is sand. We found the hotel in a perfect location, there is great snorkelling right in front of the hotel and maybe 5 minutes further down the road you can go snorkelling and see sea turtles. Across from this area there is also a swampy area where we saw a few Komodo dragons. As for the hotel we were pleasantly surprised to see 2 pools that were upkept well and a nice pathway to all the villa style rooms. Each had a nice patio and some privacy. The room was clean and spacious with an air conditioner that worked well. An open air bathroom and comfortable bed made this hotel one of our most recommended. Friendly staff and great free breakfast!
• Rob (8/5): how a holiday should be - Manta Dive is in an excellent location, metres from the beach, snorkelling and restaurants. Staff are amazing, looked after our whole stay.

You can tell they all work wellas a team. We took a lesson with Finnish Jenni for our first ever scuba diving experience and she was brilliant. Great sense of humour and a good teacher too. We'd love to go back

• Suez (2/5): Never again - We arrived to a fairly friendly greeting. Local Indonesian staff were friendly and accommodating. Other "managers" or staff were rude and made us feel unwelcome.

• Tommi (8/5): Manta was great, sister hotel not so - Our stay was a mixed bag; We got a great friendly reception at Manta Dive and the staff was always helpful and available. The mood in this dive hotel was great and the rooms at Manta were beautiful - some of the nicest rooms we stayed in SE Asia that didn't break the bank. However, on the second day of our stay a painting operation started in the pool in front of our bungalow and we were moved (because of the heavy amount of paint in the air) to the sister resort - the rooms looked quite nice if not as beautiful as on Manta's side but they had an unfortunately strong odor of mold in the air. Had this not happened, our stay would have been a 5* all the way.

We didn't dive and the pool was definitely more suited for diver practice but location was decent, close walk to good swimming spots. Nice restaurant with discount on dinner and free breakfast. We stayed in the garden room but wished we'd had a bungalow, they looked really nice.

• B (8/5): Family holiday - as a family of 4, (son aged 16 and daughter aged 14) we stayed for 5 nights and had a great time. Our son did his dive ticket at the hotel, fantastic instructors, and really friendly. We felt more than comfortable leaving him with his instructor to learn and then dive as a group. My daughter and I spent the days wandering the island, but loved the outdoor seating at the hotel to watch the day go by.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Villa very close to the beach! - Manta Dive was in a very good location on Gili Air. The only flaw was that we had not organised to dive at all on the island. The island was merely to relax, and if we had known that this hotel was primarily for divers we would have looked elsewhere.
