Guest Reviews
- Sonja (4/5): - breakfast very poor the food was freshly prepared the air conditioning very noisy the cow all night long doing noisy
- Verified traveler (10/5): - • Good check-in- Staff were friendly, and very helpful, telling us about the island, and what we might like to see, and where it’s located on a map. I was unwell on arrival, and they got us into our room a little earlier and made me a ginger tea drink to help with my sickness.
• Breakfast - loved the smoothie bowls!
• Bike hire - only $5 AUD (50,000 rupiah) to hire a bike all day.
• The tent - cute glamping experience. The aircon is great. They also have lockers to lock your valuables up.
• It’s located on a quieter part of the island which I loved. That said - it’s still a party island and you can hear the nearby clubs and the prayers through the speakers. Bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.
- Jelena (10/5): - 10/10 stay here, recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful and a little bit unique stay in Gili T. The team really really look after you, the space is beautiful and well kept and you’ll be very close to the sunset side of the island… this has lots of cafes, bars and restaurants, but is a bit quieter relative to the harbour/party side.
- Tim (10/5): - Staff extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Great room. Exactly what I was looking for.
- Steven (10/5): Very relaxing stay - Really liked this place. The tents are very large and comfortable and I was surprised to find air con works great in a tent. The place feels clean and open. The service was excellent and all of the staff super friendly and helpful. Use of free bicycles was a treat and made it easy to get around to the island. Food was good and we enjoyed the included breakfast each morning. Would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to other travelers.
- Darryn (10/5): - This property is absolutely stunning. It is on the quieter side of Gili T which was perfect for the holiday that I had planned. The property offers free push bike use and snorkelling equipment which I made use of for the entire stay. La Cocoteraie is a hidden gem on Gili T and so unique in comparison to many other properties on the island. The staff and owners are super friendly and helpful too. Thank you so much!
- Izzy (10/5): - The best staff onsite ! Loved our stay. Great proximity to the beach.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was awesome, from the check in, welcoming and nice staff, food was good and the tents large and comfortable.
They offer free bycicles and the swimming pool is nice too.
Avoid Bahari snorkelling tour (nothing to deal with La Cocoteraie but recommended by them) as we “lost” a lot of money from our wallets left in our bag on the boat while snorkelling.
We overall loved our stay there and definitely recommend!
- Z E F A (10/5): - Really great place. Tents are a good size with comfy beds and good size bathrooms with a nice hot shower. The commons areas of the hotel are nice and comfortable and the food there is nice and made fresh. The hotel is about a 10 minute cycle from the main strip of shops and restaurants so I wouldn’t recommend if you want to be right in the middle of the action. I loved the place and would definitely stay again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We just loved staying here and the staff were so lovely and we will come back again!! It was so amazing 😉 Thankyou
- Verified traveler (10/5): - There wasn't a thing i didnt enjoy about this hotel and staff. All so lovely and accommodating. Very happy to help in any scenario... like our boat getting cancelled back to bali.
The food and drinks every delicious. Room cleaned everday. Breakfast included daily. Also, they supply bikes so no need to hire!
Will definitely be coming back
- Brandon (10/5): Amazing Experience - We cannot say enough about how incredible our stay was. Fantastic customer service, breakfast, amenities, lodging- we are so grateful to the staff for going well above and beyond to make my wife and I comfortable during our time in Gili. We will
Be back!!
Thank you LaCoco ❤️
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Found overpriced for the location when we look back and compare.Tents were beautiful but no real privacy as look straight into other tents.Staff were amazing also the food.
- Luis (10/5): - Great location! Amazing service!
Always ready ti help you if you need something
- Mollie (10/5): - We stayed for 2 nights at La Coco. Loved our stay! So refreshing from staying in standard hotels. Free bikes was a bonus. Staff super helpful 10/10!
- Megan (10/5): A beautiful, small and very friendly hotel - The staff were so friendly and helpful, we had a short but wonderful stay. Breakfast was very good with lots of coffee and bikes and torches (it gets dark at night!) were included with our room. We had an awesome nights sleep and would definitely recommend a stay. The whole hotel was beautiful and the pool was lovely and refreshing.
- Jason (10/5): Great experience as this is Glamping at its finest - Enjoyed every minute of our stay as the luxury tent experience was exactly what we wanted on an island like this! The staff where absolutely amazing, rooms where clean and great and the breakfast, wifi and drinks where all good. We would 100% visit again.
- Jason (8/5): Beautiful and relaxing with very wonderful staff - Have enjoyed our stay very much, the staff have been such a highlight and they have gone over and beyond to ensure we have the best stay. The Luxury Tents have been such a nice change from standard hotels and is a perfect spot when staying on this island as it really gives you that relaxing feel. We have very much enjoyed and wish we could stay longer.
- Jonathan (8/5): Amazing staff. Cool concept. Not very practical - Amazing staff. Very cool concept. Well maintained and passionate owner/staff. Be aware that the location isn't the best. Also, tents are not sound proof, so noisy. Not the most practical either, with zipping in and out to get access. But overall, very cool!
- danl (10/5): just awesome - Quiet. Convient. Attentive staff.
- elif (10/5): Beautiful oasis - A beautiful place to escape from crowds and noise. Although the entire island gives you that privilidge in La Coco you have the amazing staff topping it up to a private and exclusive level. They are very friendly, attentive, focused on your comfort and make sure you enjoy your stay. Amazing food and ambiance. Starts with a very warm welcome and a refreshing welcome drink they seat you nicely to explain you about the island first. They have recommendations for best sunset best food best drink best swimming and snorkeling spot etc and hand you a small map. Your private safe box includes 2 sets of snorkels, 2 torches and locks for your tent. Then you are accompanied to your luxurious tent . Very specious, all the details are thought of for you. The pentire property and its grounds are very very well kept and clean. You have to try the food , you wont go anywhere else during your stay. Mix of local delicious choices to some international dishes, snacks you can find them in La Coco with top quality ingredients. The only disturbing fact was the construction noise coming from next door and team La Coco were very concerned about their guests comfort due to that but hey it was a small price to pay for such a great stay; anyway it is just a temporary thing. Dont miss out this exceptional glamping experience!
- Cathy (6/5): Alternative eco themed accommodation - Exceptional staff, quirky relaxing eco environment. Tents can get stuffy and the aircon doesn’t do much for relief.
Unfortunately there is construction going on right next door from 9-5pm so we only ended up staying one night due to the noise of bandsaw all day.
Great place to stay if you are into eco living, don’t mind the heat and are out during most the day on island activities.
Staff were exceptional with helping us change locations without making us feel bad about our choice to move to different accommodation
- Verified traveler (8/5): WONDERFUL - The staff were fantastic, the room was always clean and whole experience was one of the best I have had. Definitely a place to visit and have all your needs taken care of.
- milly (10/5): Amazing stay in the palms but near to beach - We loved our stay here. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind and made us feel so at home.
We were only here for 1 night and definitely would have liked to stay longer. We used the bikes and cycled round and went for dinner to their recommendation which was and delicious and beautifully set amongst the trees on the beach.
Definitely would recommend. the pool was great to relax by and we had a yummy lunch whilst we waited for our horse cart (which they organised) back to the ferry.
- Keely (10/5): Most beautiful accommodation on Gili T - I bought x3 of my other girlfriends here and thanked me so much for it, we all loved it, and was very sad to say goodbye. The free bikes and snorkelling equipment free to use was a blessing, we also enjoyed the Healthy Breakfast, and the American Breakfast every morning.
- Marcus (10/5): Best Place on Gilli T - Wonderful hotel situated just a few hundered meters off the beach. The tent style bungalows were super cool and comfy. The hotel offered free bike rental and snorkelling equipments. The highlight however was the amazing staff and increadibly service we received during our stay. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying at Gilli T!!!
- paul & lisa (10/5): Amazing - Totally recommend this place
We will definitely be back
- Joel (10/5): Perfect, favourite place on Gili - Loved everything about this place, especially the staff!
- Nurliana (10/5): Glamping with Aww - I loved it! Although i wished i had someone to share the experience, unfortunately i was alone. However, the staff made me feel comfortable. I love the rustic feel of the lobby/restaurant. The lounge area by the pool was comfy.
The tent - glamping with style literally. I entered my room, nothing but smiles and joy. Although for me alone, to zip up everything was tough - but hey safety comes first! The place itself already made me feel safe.
Room has no tv, but this makes up for more quality time to interact with your partner.
Despite the aircon not easily filling up the room, but hey the fan did just as good.
Love the breakfast selection, and the staff have you to pre-select your option a day before. Good for non-morning talking people, which can have you just sit and wait for your breakfast to arrive.
Love the free bicycle, and snorkelling gear on standby in your personal locker before you leave.
Love the pool which has no or less traces of cholorine in it. Didn't spoil my hair.
Location feels like you're in the woods, but you'e just 10-15mins short walk, or 5mins bicycle ride to the amazing sunset everyday.
- Verified traveler (10/5): An oasis tucked away from the hustle and bustle - Arguably the best accom on Gili T!
Incredible value for money, friendly service, spotless rooms and facilities. Will definitely be back
- Lee (8/5): Unique eco experience on beautiful island - We had a great stay on Gili T staying at La Cocoteraie Ecolodge set with the quieter northwest of the island just away from the beach. As regular campers back in the UK we enjoyed this unique stay in a luxury tent. Spacious, clean and tidy with well equipped bathroom. A/C and a fan I s provided in each lodge to ensure you are comfortable when needed. Breakfast is included with lots of choice for all tastes and appetitive. Great social lobby area where all guests mingle especially during happy hour before heading out to watch the sunset from the nearby western beach. Cycles provided as it is a good walk to the main east beach. Also provided with beach towels, beach bag, torches and snorkel equipment for all guests so no need to hire. Not an experience for all but for the more adventurous looking for something different you will love La Coco and their great staff!
- Natalie (10/5): Great concept and amazing staff! - We loved staying here and ended up booking an extra night because we didn't want to leave! The bungalow tents are lovely, and great to stay in if you want something a bit different from a normal hotel experience. It feels like you're camping out in nature but with all the mod-cons such as A/C in the tent bedroom, fan, hot water, plug sockets. A huge tank of drinking water is provided in the room so you don't need to waste lots of plastic bottles. The location is nice, very quiet location in the woods and near to the best beach to watch the sunset from. Each guest has use of their own bike (with headlamps provided for after dark) and snorkelling equipment, so you can relax and visit different beaches in the day, and in the evening it's a short bike ride to the busy east coast of the island where most of the restaurants and all the party bars are! Then you can wake up and have breakfast on your bungalow porch and relax at the nice quiet pool to recover!
For us, the best feature of the hotel was the amazing staff who run it. Such a lovely bunch of people who looked after us really well, gave us advice and were just generally nice to chat to. The property only has 8 bungalows so it has a very personal, community feel.
- T&A (8/5): A unique boutique villa - Relaxing quite environment for couples offering a different style of accomodation that still includes the little luxuries Not an ideal place for small children
- cassie (10/5): Brilliant place, I'd highly recommend to anyone - Brilliant place, I'd highly recommend to anyone Wanting a glamping experience
- Verified traveler (10/5): LOVE IT SO MUCH!! - We LOVE the place!! Wanna stay there as longer as possible! But such a pity we only can stay for one day.
It's an environment-friendly place( so also friendly to mosquito..), we like the idea when we saw it on Hotels.com, but totally in LOVE after living there, it's even better than the pictures because the hotel's idea is talking about the experience, everything is so nice, please don't think it is a five stars hotel, it's not luxury and not commercial, but it's an interesting experience as like living in the forest!
The staff are all very kind, we had a very warm welcome when we arrive, the staff treat us like their family, explained the island where we can go and see(we never have this treatment in other hotels, the bicycle and the snorkels are free for guest! That's SO SWEET! I do really love these tiny thoughtful things, that makes your stay very comfortable because they have thought and arranged for you in advance.
The location is nice, we don't like crowded and busy, here is not crazy as like east side very calm and nor far away from the beach(it's not at the beach), but you can just ride bicycle to everywhere you want to go, on the way you can enjoy the local people's life that is what I always do.
- Carlos (8/5): Nice Hotel in the midle of an awful area - Very Nice Hotel, however it's very far from all the restaurants, bars, minimarkets or any other place in the Island. It's located next to the Island Walter disposal area.
- Apolonia (10/5): Great place to chill out - The best hotel ever. Really friendly staff. Highly recommend!!!!
- Victor (10/5): Great Hotel - Great hotel with super friendly staff and owner.
- Karen (10/5): - Idyllic stay in a pretty camp with beautiful surroundings and loveliest staff
- spencer (8/5): Very good....!!! - Very peaceful and staff extremely friendly and efficient too.
We enjoyed our stay very much.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The tents were a great concept but if you're a light sleeper probably best to look elsewhere. The staff were great and it was a nice rural location but close to the tip which gets pretty smokey at times!
- Ronny (10/5): Great! - We had a great stay here at this hotel! It's in a quiet area of Gili Trawangan, but only a short bicycle ride away from restaurants and a great sunset. The staff was great. And the food was amazing. Would highly recomend a stay here.
- Lyndsey (10/5): Glamping in the Gilis - The hotel is great the tents are so much fun! The hotel has a bunch of great little touches like free bikes and snorkel gear. The breakfast is delicious. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
- B (10/5): great staff , cool concept - really enjoyed and will stay here again! rained nonstop one day and the staff were great to make cocktails, play music and let you chill out.
- Valerie (10/5): Glamping on Gill T - It's a quiet oasis just a few mins from the quiet side beaches on Gilli T. Not far by bike to anywhere on the island. The glamping was a unique and fun experience! Staff was excellent! We especially felt cared for by Echo and Auzzie.
- Aaron (10/5): Unique stay in a homely feeling tent :) - La Cocoteraie sums up the Gili's lifestyle perfectly.
The community feel with the small number of tents.
Staff friendly and useful - knew our names.
Bikes were great to get around the island.
Pool was perfect!
Happy hour was great.
Didn't really want to leave!
Thanks team!!
- Carolyne (8/5): Lovely place! - Very cute place, well maintained and clean, great attention to detail. Staff was amazing. Food was probably the best I had on the island. Slightly disappointed with the cost I was asked to pay for losing my room keys (approx £50, which is nearly double the price for one night, and an obscene amount of money in Indonesia terms...)
- Villy (8/5): very nice hotel - everything was great, the view, staff, facilities, overall was good.
i wish we can choose 2 type menu for breakfast :)
love the bathroom!!!
free snorkle gear and bike..
tips: if u want go back to the hotel late don't forget to bring headlamp, it's dark..
absolutely will book this hotel again when i come back to gili :)
- Oat (10/5): A natural experience - Beautiful setting, artsy and funky decor, lovely pool area, fabulous staff, excellent breakfast and an enjoyable cocktail happy hour. We loved the ecolodge concept and were happily surprised by the well appointed rooms and bathrooms. The included bikes were a well appreciated bonus
- Yahya Nuruddin (10/5): - Pros:
- Unique experience staying in a tent instead of your normal brick and mortar hotel rooms
- Friendly and attentive staff that will do their best to cater for your needs
- Beautiful resort landscaping and the decor at the lobby
- Sumptuous food and having the option to have breakfast at own room is a big plus
- The resort management goes the extra mile by providing free bicycle, head torchlight and snorkeling gear for their guests
Cons:
- The resort is located near Gili Trawangan's dumpsite in which you can smell the smoke when they burn the garbage at night and it gets smoky everywhere
- The tent gets a bit hot during the day
- Brooke (8/5): Luxury camping at its best - The moment we arrived we were greeted by the manager (Dennis), who was very thorough in providing us with information regarding our stay and the island in general. The luxury tent was exactly that, luxurious, with a beautiful outdoor bathroom. Although La Cocoteraie was a bit further away (compared to many other accommodations) from the central hub of the island, there were bikes provided for you, as well horse/carriage rides available on request. The swimming pool was a bit small, but the beach was only a bike ride away. The staff and owners were very accommodating and willing to make your stay as pleasant as possible. It is definitely a great place to stay if you're looking for a quiet place and/or the camping experience.
