• Troy (7/5): Great historical room, but a total pain to get the keys. - The room was great! Loved staying in a historical stone-arched room right in the middle of Monemvasia. Unfortunately, no breakfast provided. Nightmare collecting the keys to the room. Email first asked us to call. Then when we call prior to arriving, we receive a load of instuctions that was confusing and told too quickly. Never met up with the woman we actually talked to on the phone nor dropping off the keys. Told us to meet at a "deli". Apparently, their idea of a deli is a wine/olive oil shop where I didn't see their tiny sign and walked right past it. Should have told me to look for that sign! Another shop owner called them on the phone to tell them where I was. The meetup should have been explained in an email in the first place with a map location of where to pick up keys. Don't understand this vague mystery about picking up the keys. Never have I EVER had this experience with another hotel or B&B.
• Jade (10/5): Already planned my return trip! - It's a really unique experience to get to stay inside the walls of Monemvasia! The small apartment was perfect for my mother and I - with a loft bed, it was easy for me to sleep up there, and mom enjoyed the big bed. You have everything need for a day or two - small kitchenette, stocked with coffee, and a small outdoor table with chairs. The owners/managers have a traditional Greek deli where you pick up the keys and I highly recommend spending some time and money there. They have so many amazing local products and you feel very much like family when you enter. We enjoyed it so much! Everything was great - no changes needed. They are doing a fantastic job.
• sophie (8/5): Good location - The location was excellent - in quieter area below Main Street (which could be noisy in peak season) and easy access to restaurants and walks. The manager, Paras (?) was very nice. Also, we appreciated having a bed sheet (rather than just doona) in warmer weather and a bottle of complimentary wine. There needs to be more signage to the accommodation as it’s tucked away and hard to find. Also, be aware that the old city doesn’t allow vehicles so you need to carry your own bag/s (about a 10-20 min walk depending on where you park). It wasn’t a problem for us but those with mobility issues may have issues (there are taxis to the main gate or a porter into the city if needed - but at a cost).

• Drougas (10/5): Εξαιρετική οικία στο κέντρο της καστροπολιτείας! - Η τοποθεσία είναι μαγευτική, στο πιο κεντρικό σημείο της Μονεμβασίας. Οι πλατείες κι οι εκκλησίες, καθώς και το Portello-παραλία απέχουν 2 λεπτά με τα πόδια. Νιώθεις σαν μόνιμος-προνομιούχος κάτοικος της αρχοντικής καστροπολιτείας. Κοντά υπάρχουν πολύ καλές οικονομικές και μη επιλόγες για φαγητό, παγωτό, καφέ και παγωτό. Παραλάβαμε τα κλειδιά μετά από τηλεφωνική επικοινωνία με την πολύ γλυκιά και συμπαθητική ιδιοκτήτρια από το Monemvasia edodimopolio ένα ωραίο deli-μαγαζί 30 μέτρα από την πύλη στο κεντρικό δρομάκι αριστερά και μας οδήγησαν στο κατάλυμα. Μάλιστα είχαμε ειδική έκπτωση στο μαγαζί αυτό, λόγω της διαμονής μας. Μπροστά από το κατάλυμα υπάρχει μια μικρή πλατεία. Η αρχιτεκτονική του καταλύματος ακολουθεί την αρχιτεκτονική της Μονεμβασίας. Θυμίζει Ιταλικό παραδοσιακό πετρόκτιστο χωριό. Φαίνεται η επιρροή των Ενετών. Πάνω σε κάθε χαραμάδα ξεπρόβαλαν εντυπωσιακά αγριολούλουδα. Το μέρος είναι μοναδικό! Τέλειο για φωτογραφίες όπου σταθείς! Διαθέτει τη δική του μικρή-ιδιωτική αυλή. Εσωτερικά υπήρχαν 2 δωμάτια στο ισόγειο κι 1 υπόγειο μπάνιο που συνδεόταν με εσωτερική σκάλα. Στο ένα δωμάτιο υπήρχε κι η κουζίνα που ήταν πολύ καλά εξοπλισμένη, με καινούρια σκεύη και τα απαραίτητα για να φτιάξει κάποιος ένα καφέ ή ένα τσάι. Ευχαριστούμε πολύ για το πασχαλινό κέρασμα (τσουρέκι, αυγά βαμένα, κόκκινο κρασί, κεράκια κα) που περίμενε στο δωμάτιο κατά την άφιξη μας! Εντύπωση κάνουν τα πετρόκτιστα θολωτά ταβάνια, τα ξύλινα πατώματα, καθώς κι η μια πλευρά στο βάθος του καταλύματος που είναι φυσικός βράχος κι είχε σχέση με το συστήμα των στερνών. Πολύ ωραία επίσης η διακόσμηση, έβγαζε ζεστασιά. Επίσης στο ταβάνι διακρίνονται κτισμένες πλέον τρύπες απ'όπου πιθανότατα ''έπιαναν'' νερό πολύ παλιά οι κάτοικοι των πάνω ορόφων. Η καθαριότητα του χώρου ήταν πολύ καλή. Υπήρχαν μέχρι και παντόφλες μιας χρήσης στο μπάνιο. Η υπηρεσία καθαρισμού τακτοποιήσε τη δεύτερη μέρα. Άψογη φιλοξενία! Σας ευχαριστούμε πολύ! ΥΓ επισκεφτείτε το σπίτι του Γιάννη Ρίτσου! Στο 2ο μικρότερο δωμάτιο σε αντίθεση με το 1ο που ήταν πολύ άνετο, λόγω ίσως εποχής (Άνοιξη) ήταν αναγκαία για το βράδυ η χρήση του αφυγραντήρα που ευτυχώς υπήρχε στον εξοπλισμό του καταλύματος. Αν είναι κάποιος 1,80 σε ύψος ή περισσότερο ή έχει πολύ βάρος είναι λίγο θέμα η κίνηση από δωμάτιο σε δωμάτιο, λόγω της χαμηλή εσωτερικής πόρτας, από την άλλη έχει τη γοητεία του..

• Krzysztof (10/5): - Extraordinary place to stay. Very small mediaeval stone-box building that was adapted the way that there is a space for everything (we were in a group of 3). Masterpiece of interior architecture. It didn't lose its historical character at the same time.

• Kathleen (7/5): - The setting and vibe are wonderful. The loft required basically crawling under a low ceiling onto a mattress. A teenager and an adult sharing the space was awkward. Maybe better for two younger kids who would be old enough to not fall down the stairs.

Οι άνθρωποι του προσωπικού ήταν πολύ ευγενικοί, εξυπηρετικοί και όταν αντιμετωπίσαμε ένα μικρό πρόβλημα , το επέλυσαν αμέσως ! Το δωμάτιο ήταν πολύ καθαρό και ακριβώς όπως στις φωτογραφίες !

Γενικά το μικρό μέγεθος του δωματίου είναι το μόνο αρνητικό. Επίσης, η τουαλέτα βρίσκεται ακριβώς κάτω από το ένα κρεβάτι....

Everything about the castle house was perfect. Please note that the general parking situation on the road outside the town gate can be challenging.

As you should expect from a very old property converted, it is a bit dark and claustrophobic inside. We expected that, so we’re not disappointed, but be aware it is darker than the photos show.

It had a view of the sea, it was right on the Main Street so very central, it was well decorated and well appointed, very charming. The hosts are very friendly. The place was clean with a comfortable bed. Monemvasia was magical :)

• Chrisppohl (10/5): Fantastic apartment in the heart of Monemvasia old town - Great apartment, with two separate rooms for sleeping. It also has basic kitchen facilities to enable some cooking at home. An outside garden area is great for having meals.
• Dean (9/5): A great stay in an amazing apartment. - Location, decor and architecture. Really comfy bed. The room being serviced was a nice touch. Short walk to town centre and the sea! Smaller than the pictures suggested but it worked fine for us.

The location is unforgettable The beds were a bit soft. We were a family of 4 adults. The property is more suited to a couple or 3 adults, or a family with 2 younger children.

We loved the private courtyard, the stone walls and the charming and creative layout of the space. Beds were super comfortable for our family of four. Nice and relaxing, although small, patio adjacent to the flat. Fantastic location, not far from the centre of the old town, yet a bit calm. Recomendable to visit Monemvassia on the first Sunday after Orthodox Easter - when the local feast (Panagia Chryssafitissa) is being held.

My child was thrilled with the castle-feeling. - It was so nice to walk in the castle gate and see a lovely shop with local products...and a host who clearly knew us from our profile picture and promptly led us to the house. My child was thoroughly charmed by the castle-like feeling of the space. Others have commented on the bathroom size--it IS small but it's a Greek bathroom in an old castle and it was just fine!
• Rose (9/5): Superb - The children loved sleeping in a cave and so did we! It was cool and peaceful, with all the delights of ancient Monemvasia in easy walking distance. The staff were all really welcoming, generous and helpful. It was a very special place. Please note: This would be the same issue for all accommodation in the pedestrainised heart of Monemvasia. It took us a long time to find a parking space on the road leading up to Monemvasia, then carrying all our stuff and guiding the children safely up the hill was hard work. It would be ideal if someone were able to meet visitors at the gate and provide a parking permit for an allocated space.
