Guest Reviews
- Jacqueline (10/5): Perfect night stay near Bristol Airport - Easy to find room. Very clean and modern. Lovely shower and comfortable bed. Tea, coffee, breakfast to go (porridge, pastries, yoghurt, juice). Perfect overnight stay near the airport. Beautiful scenery- lovely and quiet
- Robert (8/5): Convenient location - Convenient & near Bristol Airport…
- Joanna (10/5): - Lovely venue & picnic
- Fiona (8/5): - No possibility of food on site - a pity.
Superb shower gel and soap - excellent quality.
- Gary (10/5): The best you’ll find.. - This hotel is absolutely spectacular. Pristine building, grounds, carpark and room. One of the most relaxing, quiet, tranquil stays with exceptional views I’ve stayed in. I could not recommend this place any more highly. 5 star
- Emma (10/5): - Beautiful accommodation. Very comfortable with everything you need.
Great location for the airport and bristol
- Nigel (10/5): - Stunning property and room in a beautiful area, quiet and only 8mins from Bristol Airport
Highest recommend
- Julie (10/5): - The property was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Lovely extras with the selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate
, was great to have the ready to go breakfast as well. Great place would definitely recommend and I will be going back
- Katherine (10/5): - We had a lovely one night stay here before going to the airport. The room was modern, clean and comfortable - TV was great quality too! The breakfast to go which is provided with the room rate was perfect for an early morning dash and used high quality brands. Our room had to be changed last minute but staff gave us a detailed explanation of where we needed to go and were easy to get hold of, as well as being helpful and friendly on the phone. We would definitely stay again!
- Calum (10/5): - Excellent location and standard of accommodation
- Cindy (10/5): - Lovely property, very clean and with a comfortable bed and great shower. Take away breakfast in the room was lovely and the property had just the right amount of facilities for an overnight stay. Ample parking available and easy to find.
- Thomas (8/5): Didn’t Get a Full Experience - I was really only there to sleep before my flight in the morning. Looks like it could be a cool place to check out. Not sure if there's a wine tour or not.
- Chris (10/5): - Absolutely stunning place. Owners and ataff are very polite and friendly. Good value and the accommodation was very clean. Tea/coffee making facilities with fridge and continental breakfast in room. Bed was extremely comfy and shower was hot with excellent water pressure. Scenery was stunning. Will definitely be staying here again.
- Anne (10/5): - Just perfect. Will definitely book again.
- Jill (8/5): - Property was lovely. Our plane was late so therefore it was gone midnight when we arrived. We parked in the car park but because of limited lighting we went the wrong way to find our room. I unfortunately had to ring the out of hours number and wake some poor guy up so he could tell us where we should be. Our property was just off the car park but there were no lights above the doors to show the property names. Good job mobiles have torches. To be honest we were just so tired and disorientated, but once inside, the property was amazing and super clean.
- Jo (10/5): - Really good set up - perfect for a business trip when tired of stsying in hotels all week! Great breakfast choice and very comfortable night. My only complaint was the skylight blind was not blackout!
- Jonathan (10/5): - Lovely room in a block overlooking the coutryside.
Very clean room with super king size bed and a double sofa bed for the kids to share. 7 and 8 yrs old.
The bathroom was nice and big with a huge shower.
I would definitely stay again.
- Emma (10/5): - We had a great stay, really convenient location, great communication and facilities for what we needed.
- Malcolm (10/5): - Lovely little overnight room - well thought out in terms of layout & facilities
- Derek (10/5): - Estate easy to find from main road. quiet location and only a short drive to silver parking. Tried the New Inn nearby. excellent pub grub.
- Charlotte (10/5): - Lovely tranquil rural location and close to Bristol airport.
- helen (6/5): - It was a lovey area. But we had trouble checking in as there was a private function going on. It was assumed we knew our way to where our room was. Then the room was in a row of lodges in the carpark area so the noise when all the cars were leaving the function was awful is it was all gravel. We had to get someone to pick up a toothbrush that was on the floor of our room when we got there. They said it was housekeepers, but still gross. Mattress was advertised as superking but was actually 2 mattresses on one bed ushed together, and the duvet was too small for the cover which meant it was uncomfortable.
- Douglas (10/5): - This was such a lovely place to spend the night on our England driving adventure. And, if you're not used to driving in England, WHAT an adventure it was - haha. The little Hathaway cottage was the perfect size, and so nicely appointed. Comfortable bed, large TV, functional bathroom, and a DELICIOUS breakfast-to-go (don't forget to open the refrigerator!). So happy we chose this place, and if we ever get lucky and find ourselves back in this part of the world, we would gladly stay here again.
- Luke (10/5): Friendly staff, lovely room - Friendly staff, lovely room
- Caitlin (10/5): - Very unique property ! Comfy bed and apartment. Lots of snacks and drink provided in the room. Soft towels, hot water and good water pressure in the shower.
- Arjian (8/5): Good stay, strict check out time! - Very nice room, along with great views. Check out is at 10am, I asked whether I could delay check out by 30min (due to a business call), unfortunately this was not allowed, which was disappointing. However I was told that I could use the bar for my work call. Overall decent stay.
- Debra (10/5): - Aldwick wine tasting followed by an overnight stay on the premises. We could not have been happier with this experience. We also booked a hamper as there in no onsite dining. Highly recommend this peaceful location.
- Claire (10/5): - Beautiful venue… wish we had longer.
Perfect stopover for the airport.
Great location.
- john (10/5): - Superb quiet location, spotless with helpful staff.would highly recommend to anyone.
- Lisa Marie (10/5): - Lovely buildings and real family feel.
- lee (10/5): Superb! - As always Aldwick never lets down!
A perfect place to get away and chill.
Top marks to the Aldwick team for their superb rooms, facilities, attention to detail and great location!:)
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful - The hayloft is just so lovely and the surrounding vineyards beautiful. We loved our stay and would love to go back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely - Really lovely, private room and bathroom with a mini fridge. Breakfast wasn’t what we thought though as a breakfast ‘on the go’ which wasn’t made clear, but overall lovely stay and would defiantly stay again
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very happy - Great location, catered to our requirement for early checkin and the room was lovely.
- Pippa (8/5): Great stop over - The room was very comfortable and clean, with a little courtyard with lovely views. Self check in and out meant that we had no interaction with the owners / staff which I felt was a bit odd ..would prefer to see someone.
- STUART (10/5): - Little gem.
- Matthew (10/5): Nice getaway - Nice and spacious. Modern, clean with beautiful view. Safe parking. Quiet and peaceful.
Nice for a family stay whilst on holiday or a romantic retreat
- Billy (10/5): Little countryside gem - A member of staff was at reception waiting for us and took us straight to the room. The room was modern and freshly decorated, basic with no clutter and plenty of space for our small family. Beautiful far reaching views across the farm and into the countryside with the sheep bleating from afar. Breakfast was to go, which was new to us but was sweet. Porridge and a fresh muffin with OJ.
Aldwick Estate makes a good base if you're planning a shopping trip to Bristol like we did, being only 23 minutes from Cabot Circus. Also only 5 minutes from Bristol airport for the jetsetters.
Will be booking again one day and maybe stay a little longer.
- lee (10/5): 10/10 - This place never fails, perfect location and the rooms & facilities spot on! Cannot recommend it enough.
Thank you again to the Aldwick team keep up the great standards you have:)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Incredible location, extremely welcoming hosts. The apartment was perfect- clean, spacious and very homely. Bed extremely comfy. Had everything we needed to cook and beautiful wines to have with dinner! Lovely walks and cycle routes near by. A fantastic stay, would really recommend!
- Robert (10/5): - View from room was amazing
The place is truly beautiful and a hidden gem
Would definitely go back
- Mr A E (10/5): A great place to stay - Quality and well equipped accommodation in a great location with lovely views of Mendips and surrounding countryside. We had the place to ourselves due to Covid so somewhat unusual but would be good place to stay at anytime. No tastings at the time but we tried the vineyard Rose wine which was very nice. We will very likely be back.
- Anshuman (10/5): Serene surroundings and wonderful hosts - This is a property on a farm that’s been with the family for five generations. Part of the farm is a vineyard with Flying Pig for a logo (do ask them about the story behind it). It’s very accessible from Bristol and is on the foothills of Mendip Hills - which makes Cheddar Gorge, Weston Super Mare beach, and Wells Cathedral 20-30m drive. The property itself is quiet and with some great views of the Mendip Hills.
- william (10/5): Perfect birthday getaway - Cosy , perfect little base with a view ! Easy parking right outside the door. Lovley breakfast hamper for the morning.
- Sian (10/5): Beautiful, quiet and Tranquil - Beautiful setting, really peacefully and the hosts are super friendly and helpful.
- David (10/5): - Great location as base for exploring the area .
- Katie (10/5): A gorgeous property in an excellent location! - A gorgeous property in an excellent location! The property is a long way off a road so lovely and quiet. The room was perfect with a super comfy bed, very clean bathroom and decorated tastefully. Felt very safe in regards to COVID, very clean and away from other people. The location was excellent 15-20 minute drive to cheddar gorge and 40 minutes to bath. Plenty of parking and a nice gesture of a little continental breakfast left in the room. Staff were very friendly going out of their way to help with places to go and eat and near by shops and petrol station.
- Emma (10/5): Vineyard stay - We stayed at Aldwick as we were doing one of their wine tours (which I would also recommend!) It was a lovely setting overlooking the vineyard and surrounding countryside and had the added bonus of none of us having to drive! We even made use of the tennis courts in the morning. I would recommend for a very peaceful stay in this family run estate.
- Nicholas (10/5): ovely stay - Top notch stay. Lovely location, and fully recommend the vineyard tour and wine tasting. Friendly staff, and great communication prior to our arrival.
- Jeffrey (8/5): Charming room on a vineyard. - We had a lovely overnight stay at Aldwick. The room we'd booked ("Luck") was for four of us (2 adults and 2 kids) and the kids' bed was much smaller than expected but the staff quickly brought in another bed without a fuss and we very much appreciated their attentive help after such a long drive. We'd happily return.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Mild dissappointment - Stayed 2 nights for work. Because of the virus, I booked a room with a kitchenette on order to cook. On arrival, I was pleased to see what a beautiful peaceful setting it is. I attended the reception and was directed to my room. The room had no kitchen. Reception then moved me to their apartment, which is nicely set out with a well stocker kitchen.
A small breakfast pack provided which was welcome.
Unfortunately the shower was one of the worst I've used. On the first day it was scorching, on the second day it was freezing. The power was also very low.
Unfortunately the WiFi didn't work for the second day stay.
- John (10/5): - The property exceeded all expectations , could not find a single fault , superb .
- Ms (10/5): - Quiet location, friendly staff, lovely grounds and beautiful countryside views. Cannot fault the accommodation in any way. Depending on what type of weekend you are having, the only drawback might be that there are no pubs/restaurants within walking distance which for us personally wasn't an issue.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a place!! It was nice and quiet and while rustic outside very well finished inside.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent venue. Recommended for short stays. Real escape to the country.
- Stewart (10/5): Very enjoyable stay - We stayed 1 night and went on the wine tour. Both were a very enjoyable experiance
- Angela (10/5): Stunning - From arriving to leaving this was superb, it was only a short visit overnight but will definately be back for alonger stay.
The accommodation is stunning and comfortable and iun an area that is easy driving to a number of attractions - Cheddar Gorge, Bath Bristol and lots more
- Alex (10/5): Beautiful Location - What a beautiful place to stay. Right in the middle of a vineyards (which we toured) and in the picturesque Somerset countryside.
My fiancé and I stayed in their only current room (although I believe they are building more) and it was comfortable, cosy and well maintained. Shower worked great and it was quiet in the evening.
They left us tea, milk, a fresh loaf of bread with jams and marmalade and a cereal selection in the morning.
Whether staying for a short trip to discover the local area or as a couple for your wedding, I would recommend highly. They were also very communicative before and during the stay.
